This particular room has served as an office to a number of different professors over the years. Some of which include revered professors such as Septima Vector, Bree Geltz, Kali O'hara, Lesley Modulo Fox, Matthias Pythagoras Wenlock, Onyx Xavier Frost, and most recently, Macadrian Ashling Shackleton-Clark. With each new Professor that has made this office homey, Josephina is sure they each brought their own particular flair to its decorations to accommodate their tastes. Just as Josephina did when she first entered upon this room just a few weeks ago.

The walls have been painted a light blue-gray color and there are a handful of paintings hung around the room, giving off a rather comfortable feeling. One of the paintings is a rendition repainted by Josephina, herself, of a canal near her hometown in Perugia, Italy. There is a framed miniature Italian flag, as well as a third painting of of the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.

As with typical office decorum, there is a large, polished wooden desk, that once belonged to each of her predecessors. It is piled rather high with various papers and worksheets, which is quite startling for a new professor and start-of-term. There are also two framed photographs sitting on her desk; one was of Josephina posed with her two sisters and the other was of her parents, Nicole and Marcus, sitting on their couch. Behind the large wooden desk sits a black executive style chair. Directly on the other side of the desk - where visitors may sit - are two smaller black chairs, but still just as comfortable.

There's a bookcase on the left side, which contains various titles that Josephina collected over the years. Some these include, but are not limited to, The Complete Book of Numerology, New Theory of Numerology, Numerology and Gramatica, A Look Into The Future, and Olde and Forgotten Bewitchments and Charmes. There are also muggle classic books by Charles Dickens and Jane Austen, for which are a few of Fina's guilty pleasures.

Though the door is nearly always open, proper etiquette dictates knocking and addressing your identity before entering. Especially as Professor Hadley likely has her back to the door where she is playing with her two-year old puppy named Baisley. Just entering without permission is rude and punishable with either point deduction and/or detention for being disrespectful.


OOC: No, there is no waiting area, but please do not clog up this thread with useless chatter of 'waiting to enter'. Have your character knock and then wait for Professor Hadley to respond to either enter or to come back later.

There are plenty of places around the school that allow for chat with your friends; Professor Hadley's office is NOT the place for it and doing as such will be cause for appropriate discipline actions.

The door is OPEN!

Tyler was good at maths. In fact, it was one of the FEW subjects where he had almost not needed his mother's coaching - he had just learned it all by himself.

See? RAVENCLAW.

Point is, Tyler didn't really know what Arithmancy was. BUT, he had seen it on the lesson list and thought it might be fun to come say hi to the teacher. You know, just to let her/him know that Ty was going to be coming to the lessons and being AWESOME in them. That sort of thing.

Knock. Knock. Hopefully they were in. Ty was too bouncy and hyper to stand around for too long.

Josephina was exhausted. But more than that; after the feast - her first official night as a Hogwarts Professor - she was confused. Half the staff members seemed so young that she was sure she knew them. Not just Lexi Carlton, of whom she met in Terrortours, but others too. Yet no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't remember much of them during their student days.

Which is why for HOURS after the feast, she sat in her office, scanning photo albums of memories when she was a student. Smiling faces. Studious ones. Flipping through pages of books as she stared at the magical photos. Occasionally she would stop only to get a drink of water and then continued a moment later with her scouring.

Night turned into morning and as the new Arithmancy professor stood up to stretch out her arms and yawn, she heard a knock. Something she wasn't sure she heard at first, but then a second knock confirmed it. EEP! A visitor!

Barely registering that the page in the album included a picture of a boy wearing familiar dark-rimmed glasses, Fina stashed the album quickly under her desk and re-pulled back her hair, which was no doubt still messy from lack of proper sleep.

"Come in please," she said, as she smoothed out her robes that she'd still been wearing from the night before. Hopefully the visitor didn't/wouldn't notice.

Hearing the ok, Ty opened the door and closed it behind him, his smile widening as he saw the office. It looked so cool - what with that painting and the desk and the parchments. Just wicked.

"Hello, Professor - I'm Tyler Adams," Ty introduced himself, looking for the first time at the Professor. She was young and REALLY nice looking. If she wasn't his Professor, Ty could tell they could have been FRIENDS. Yep, yep.

But... She looked kinda tired. And, sorta all over the place. Poor Professors - they were probably working all the time. Because what else do Professors do?

Still smoothing her robes, Josephina managed to throw herself haphazardly into her chair and be seated just as the kid opened the door. A SMALL kid at that. Breathing a sign of relief that it wasn't someone she met at the feast or one of her colleagues she propped her elbows on her desk, casually resting her chin on top her fingers.

Aww. So CUTE!! So ICKLE! Fina wanted to pinch his cheeks. "Nice to meet you Mr Adams," she said, rising casually, as though she hadn't just flopped into the chair a moment ago like a kid caught out of bed. Extending her hand delicately to him, she continued, "I'm Professor Hadley. What can I do for you . . . today?" Because it was no longer the night anymore, she had to remind herself Pity.

"Just Ty, please? Mr Adams is my father. . . And he wouldn't let me come to Hogwarts," Ty said quickly, pushing the ill thoughts of his Father to the BACK of his mind. This was the time to be HAPPY. And JOYFUL. And ENERGETIC.

Yep, yep. Shaking her hand - or at least, her thumb and index finger since that was just about how big his hand would stretch - Ty beamed. "Professor Hadley, I just wanted to come in and say hi and also tell you that I can't wait for Arithmancy because I was really good and maths and stuff - I learned it all by myself with Mother's help - and I really want to learn what the numbers all mean and stuff. I think the subject is wicked cool," he finished up, still beaming.

Hehe. Meeting Professors was FUN. Especially pretty ones like her. They made Ty feel nice.

Oh but of course!

"Yes Ty," she emphasized on his name, nodding and understanding his request for what to be called. BUT WAIT!? His father wouldn't let him come to Hogwarts? "No matter what he thinks or grants permission for you to do, because you're here now. And you'll have a blast." Poor kid though.

His hand was so small against hers, which was saying something considering she did have small hands. CUTE! And a fan of Arithmancy, which was SUPER awesome because ALL the cool kids were fans of the subject. "Glad you think so, because I have a secret to share with you," she said, watching him carefully as she leaned forward [and down] to his level. "I think the numbers and their meanings are wicked cool too!" She grinned, after reusing his phrasing, standing upright again. Duh. Of course she thought as such. "Well then, I guess I'll look forward to seeing you in the first lesson. Math isn't so horrible if you just think about it."

It was the secret to anything really; think about it and you'll figure it out.

Ooh, he LIKED Professor Hadley. Very very much so. "Yes, that's TRUE. I mean, I didn't come last year because of him but this year I'm HERE and there ain't nothing he can do about it!" Ty nodded eagerly and punched his fist into the air in excitement. He was HERE. At HOGWARTS. And not even Father could pull him out now.

Well, he could, but NOOOOOOOO.

SECRET! Ty liked secrets. He was good at keeping them, too. He was like a safe - only he had no password and could not be unlocked! Hehe. And this professor was about to tell him one... :O She said WICKED COOL tooooooo!!! Ooooh, he REALLY liked her. His face showed it too.

"Of course it isn't. I never got why nobody ever liked it - it's AWESOME. And the meanings sound like FUUNN!! I can't WAIT for Arithmancy, professor!" Ty bounced lightly on his heels, his excitement too much for him to just stand still. Hogwarts was SUPER exciting and Professor Hadley was MEGA AWESOME.

Like Professor Dodson, only different. Because Hadley was WICKED and Dodson was AWESOME. Both VERY COOL but different, of course.

Right. So being all depressed really HADN'T been fantabulous for Lori, and she was now back to skipping around the castle. Of course, she had reasoning. There were PRETTY new professors in the school, and SHE needed to meet THEM. And THEY needed to meet HER, and become all accquainted and all that jazz.

So there she was, on the second floor, outside the office of the PRETTY Arithmancy Professor.Professor Hadley, what a PRETTY NAME! Lori giggled once, looked down at her pretty shoes and then knocked, THREE times. LOUDLY. Much louder than you would expect of a FEMALE.

Now, just to WAIT for the Professor, and then they could share PRETTINESS! WEEEEEE!

Matheu wanted to highten his Arithmancy skills, seeing as how he didn't really attend class last term. He really need to sharpen his skills!! And he hoped that the professor would help.

Matheu knocked on the door.

This kid was SUPER sweet!! Josephina was already fond of this kid, even if they'd only met about two minutes ago. Another very enthusiastic kid. "Exactly. Just do your best and prove to him that you can be awesome even away from home." Be the best you can be and try. If you put forth the effort, then while you might fail, overtime, success will come. At least that was some of what she believed. "If you do well, then there would be little reason for him to pull you out." Well there was always the small chance, but yea . . . those chances were reduced by your success in academics.

The light in Ty's face when she told him the secret just informed her all; she'd won her way into one student's heart. YAY! Of course she didn't expect to be loved by all students, but did expect them to listen to her. She did expect to make some sort of difference in their education. "The interpretations are the fun part. Seeing how y'all interpret the textbook meanings and apply them." She nodded at him; one thing she loved was being able to compare her interpretations to people's actual personalities.

... or changing the course of one's life based on a particular calculation. And usually, it worked out to her advantage.


Wee!!!

More knocks on the door. The first was rather loud, whereas the second was a bit quieted. Same student or two different ones it didn't matter!

"Come in please!" Josephina insisted, as she didn't think Tyler had anything private to discuss. It was just a welcoming greeting. "And please, leave the door open." So this way students could come in and out as they pleased, without knocking. YAY!

Lori grinned as the Professor invited her and the other kid who had joined her -- and KNOCKED, when she had. TUT. Was he trying to OUTKNOCK HER?-- and then opened the door. She smiled as she came across Professor Hadley (PRETTY PROFESSOR, SRS.) and KIDDO! *secret!flail*.

Waving her hand at the Professor, Lori grinned and introduced herself --after entering the room, and leaving the other kid to come in afterwards--. "Hey, Professor! I'm Lorelai Bristol, but youuuu can call me Lori. I'm a Sixth Year Hufflepuff! By the way... you have a REAL pretty name! Did you know that?"

It was all so cute and squishy.

Libriana knocked softly on the door. knock knock. She waited patiently on the teacher.

Torin made his way toward the Arithmancy Office. Odd enough, he had never been here before. But he wanted to say hi to the hot new Professor. Even if she didn't seem too impressed with him the last time that they had met.

He knocked on the door and waited for her to answer.

This girl seemed rather hyper ... considering, she was older than Tyler, for sure. Strange, strange girl. But PRETTY and unique name! "Yes, I do love my name." Wait, Hadley or Josephina? Presumably Hadley since that was the only name she generally gave out to students.

"Lorelai is a pretty name too. Lovely to meet you." Fina said, refraining from an eye-rolling. "Feel free to take a seat and help yourself to a candy or two." Perhaps she should have set out the sugar-free candies?

More knocks?

But the door was OPEN now!!! Odd children. Oh that would explain it as she recognized the taller one - the male - from Diagon Alley.

"Door is open, which means, you can enter." Obviously. "Please do and take a seat if you desire. I could conjure up some more chairs if needed." SQUEE! She was feeling the love.

Awesome away from home? But, DUH! He wasn't EVER awesome at home - Father wouldn't let him. Shaking his head at Professor Hadley, he grinned. There was nothing really to comment on that - plus, Father was becoming a main topic in all his conversations and Ty didn't like this one bit.

"I didn't really understand the textbook much," Ty remembered reading the Arithmancy volume first because it had seemed like the one he would understand the most. But it had turned out to be the almost exact opposite - all those words for ONE number had made his head spin. He would have asked Mother to explain, but he didn't want his parents to interfere with Hogwarts.

Not at all. This was HIS thing - and he was HERE. They WEREN'T.

He didn't bother with keeping quiet as his BEST FRIEND came in. Nope.

"LLOOOOO!!!!!" Ty exclaimed, flailing his arms excitedly at her, his grin - if possible - even larger. "Professor, Lo is really awesome - like you!" Ty informed Professor Hadley with a confident nod, beaming at them both. This was so COOL.

Matheu walked into Professor Hadley's office.
"Uh Professor, could I recieve some individual tutoring, to work on my skills?"

Ainra walked up to Professor Hadley's office happily. Her arithmancy lesson had been the most interesting thing she had learned in her life, and she really hoped to talk to the teacher indivually about what she had learned. She knocked twice on the door and waited for Professor Hadley to answer.

Pffft. She wasn't very nice. He was only knocking to be polite.

"Hello Professor. How are you? He gave her a smile as he walked inside her office. She was lucky that she was pretty, because she wasn't very nice.

Cadence walked down the corridor in front of the Arithmancy professor's office. She was here to get advice, and maybe this woman would be able to help her. After all, she had been in class as Cadence had tried to teach Simon, so maybe she could assess whether or not it was something she should pursue? Lately, Cadence had been so preoccupied with what she wanted to do next and what classes she needed to take and it was all getting to be just... too much. She needed someone else's opinion. Therefore, she knocked on the door of the Professor Hadley and waited.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

He thought he had been brave enough to knock on Professor Carlton's door, but he totally chickened out when it actually came time to knock on her door.

He was standing before the Arthimancy's professor door with a tray of cupcakes. He wanted to take them to Professor Carlton, but he just couldn't seem to form human speech when he was around her. Something about her hair looking like the honey on top of a walnut muffin made him forget his name.

He shifted the tray of cupcakes to his other hand so he could knock on the door. Maybe the cupcakes would help with his grade in the class.

Of course not; he was young and how could she really and truly have expected him to understand the textbook at such a ripe young age? Especially when he barely had any formal magical education.

"It takes time to understand these things," Fina informed him, twisting a lock of hair around her finger. "But the great thing about the subject is that everytime you look at it, you seem to find something new."

Oh. Mr Tyler apparently new Lorelai. Cute.


Turning to look at another boy who just entered, she studied him as he paused, long enough to have her curious as to his request. "Yes, of course. When would you like to set something up? Anyplace in particular you would like to hold the tutoring sessions?"

The tall male prefect seemed to be MUCH nicer than her last encounter with him. Deciding it was probably a fluke, she put all misconceptions of him aside temporarily. "Hello, Mr Kane. Good to see you again. I'm doing quite well and youself?"

Why were people KNOCKING?!

Did they not see that the door was open?! Sigh. Some students are clearly overly polite or maybe even slightly ridiculous.

"Come in." She said, slightly exasperated, but then her eyes bulged at the sight of what the third student had his hand. The smell of sugar. Cupcakes. "Especially you there. With the su-cupcakes." Of course she'd have to run some tests on them to ensure they weren't cursed or poisoned, but other than that, cupcakes were GOOD!

The door was open!

Gold was not sneaking around, honestly not. She had just seen Lori Louu and Mr. T head this way, and been unable to stop herself from following the two, one her absolute bestie, the other her favourite guy at Hogwarts. Her favourite male friend, at any rate. Not to mention, she liked Professor Hadley. The Arithmancy teacher was quite a fun person.

"Good day, professor," she said politely, as she stepped through the open door and beamed around at everyone. Especially, of course, LorLor and TorTor. LorLor and TorTor. Bwaha.

Yeah the door was open and he felt like a totally noob knocking on the door, but it was better than walking into her office unannounced and having her blast him into a dung beetle. How would he eat his sugar quills if he were a dung beetle?

He gave her a small smile as he ushered him into the office."Oh...um," Oh Merlin what was her name? His eyes darted around his office looking for something with her name on it. He couldn't find anything. He had to say something he knew she was going to give him that look. Like he had lost his mind because he couldn't string together a proper sentence.

"Cupcakes." he finally said sitting the tray on her desk. "For you. Cheesecake cupcakes," there he had gotten out the important things. He took a deep breath to calm himself. She was really pretty and her perfume was doing things to his head. But he couldn't picture her running through a field of cotton candy like Professor Carlton. But she was still pretty enough to leave him rambling like a cundunded fool.

He stood by her desk waiting for her to say something. He really hoped he had made sense.

Cadence walked in gingerly, sensing that the Professor was in some sort of a stressed mood. Cupcakes?! Why hadn't Cadence thought of that?! She and Torin had made AWESOME cupcakes. Ah, oh well. Once inside the room, she looked around at all the other people in there, pretty sure she couldn't discuss what she wanted to discuss with the Professor while all of these people were in here. That sort of needed to be a one-on-one conversation, right? So, maybe if she just stood here shyly, the others would finish their business and leave? Right... that's what she would do. Which was weird because Cadence was never shy around Professors. Though, it wasn't so much the Professor as it was the multiple other students standing in the room that she didn't know. So, she stood there, hands clasped in front of her, rocking back and forth slightly on her heels.
