"Sounds good," she said. "Maybe quarter cup of lemon juice? And two cups of water?" she offered. Then she realized she had kinda-sorta complimented Violet. Ewh.

Perusing the list Patroclus put forth some suggestions, “I think 3 drops of Re’em and the membrane and juice of one Bloodroot” the lion wondered if the blood would be able to be tasted by the poor kneazle. “ The leaves of 4 fluxweed plants, 6 pomegrante seeds and a teaspoon of honey…” The boy was just rattling off suggestions, he was quite certain that their potion was going to work, and the amounts so far were perfect.
“I am unsure about how much hellebore and moonstone, though…” Patroclus thought with those two they could play it by ear. Measuring a litre of water and pouring it into the cauldron Patroclus smiled, “To the cupboard!”
Mina nodded as she jotted down all the suggested measurements. Doing some quick calculations in her head, she added Patroclus' suggestions and smiled. "Those sound good. But do we want to use whole leaves or should we use the oil instead?" she asked. The leaves would be effective and all, but oil would actually combine better in their potion. Perhaps they would just gather both and then decide once they got back to the table.
Looking at the last two ingredients, she tapped her chin in thought. "I'm thinking maybe a single Helleborne. Too much will be too powerful for a knealze. Same goes for the Moonstone. I think maybe one dram, but we add it in slowly and see how it work." They had to take into account just how small of an amount they truly needed and all.

Double checking the list again, she nodded. "To the cupboard," she replied as she hopped from her seat and headed that way. Selena nodded and memorized the list. "I'll go get them," she said as she stood and went to retrieve the items, when she was back she set it down and looked at it. "We should probably make sure the cauldron is clean first," she added.

Patroclus contemplated Mina’s suggestion, “How about we do leaves of 2 fluxweed plants, and two measures of oil, how does that sound?” Oil was a great idea, but Patroclus thought it would also be wise to include the plant, as that way they were guaranteed that the plant would be able to absorb some the potion, and add its natural magic properties.
The boy quickly filled in his note book, adding Mina’s measures of Hellebore and Moonstone, the he headed over to the cupboard.

Returning to the desk, Patroclus was pleased to see the water was bubbling nicely, steam pouring from within the cauldron. “Well let us begin! I think we should add all powdered substances first, such as the Chamomile, the Ginger, Green tea, hellebore as well as the moonstone, and perform a clockwise stir between each, think that will work?”

Although, Destiny has never seen a cat actually drink tea before, so maybe the cats would think the tea is gross! Gah..this was all too confusing, and it was giving her a headache. Besides, they had a potion to brew! "Should we stir it around a few times, too, of just let it boil on it's own?" She never wanted to make up her ow potion again. It was hard work!
Hmm, how should they add the bezoar? The easiest thing to do would be to just throw the whole thing in, but Destiny didn't know if it would work the same as it being crushed or cut in half. "Cut in half? Do we have a sharp enough knife?" The thing was a rock! How were they supposed to cut it!? Oh..nevermind. "Nevermind, we can use MAGIC!" Duh.
Waiting until Evelyn placed her ingredient in the cauldron, Destiny picked up her crushed not pulverized mortal of grass. Tilting it over the cauldron, she emptied it's contents, then took a step away from it. What if they messed up and the cauldron blew up!? Phew. Nothing blew up..yet. "I wish there was a way to make it boil faster. It's so slooooow."

Mina laid out all the ingredients she gathered and pulled out her scale. Precise measurements would be need, she remembered that from all her previous lesson with Kazi and she would always remember that bit of advice. Setting the scale up, she moved to set up her pestle and mortar. She would have to grind the hellebore by hand and the easier accessible her supplies the better for her.
She set to work as Patrolcus returned with the other ingredients. Measuring out the ginger, prepping the mint, measuring out the chamomile, dividing out the moonstone, hellebore grinding, and Bloodroot prepping. Carefully, she prepared all her ingredients and looked up at her partner and nodded. "Sounds like a plan. I've measured out what we need of the things I got, so it's ready to be added," she replied as she grabbed her journal and started to jot down notes and details.
Yes, she had really picked a great partner and their potion was going to do just what it needed to do. "One stir should be fine and then we should allow it to to come to a boil again before adding anything else. But as we wait, you could add the honey to the lemonade and start to melt the honey and all," she suggested as she looked up from the journal.

"I supposed we should stir it a few times, yea. Nothing to specific though i don't think. It's just grass and mint." Nothing magical about it, but on the other hand...it is? Since it helps with stomach aches. Probably as magical as grass and mint can be.
Glancing quickly into the cauldron, and then at the fire, the idea of cutting the bezoar kept going through her mind. She had never cut, crushed, or smashed the thing before, and she didn't even know if it was possible. What if...it was like poisonous if you cut it open? Or, made the potion...worse. "Nevermind." she said, echoing Destiny's words. "Let's just keep it in whole. If it dissolves then fine, if not...then we can strain it out or something at the end. I don't think we can get that down a cat's throat. Unless we shrink it or something..."

Patroclus was pleased with the progress the pair had made already, they were well on their way to healing the poor kneazle. The boy was also glad he was managing fine with what was his first ever Potions final!
With Mina grinding the powderable ingredients Patroclus prepped his half of the list, which didn’t require much added help, due to so many of them coming prepared and in their allotted amounts, he did however scoop the honey from the jar onto a silver teaspoon, “With the Lemonade I think it would be best to add last, that way it can be the flattess possible! But first I have to shake it up!” The boy grinned as he took the bottle shook it like crazy! “Here goes!” Opening the lid, the clear liquid rushed and bubble out of the opening, splashing the desk, but luckily missing the ingredients and the students.
“I shall stir if you want to add?” Patroclus smiled, as he added steps to his notes

Destiny nodded her head. Stirring was good! If they didn't stir, all the ingredients would just get stuck to the bottom of the cauldron and it would be a hassle to clean. Not that she minded, but, yeah, she just didn't want to stay in the room with the cat much longer. Maybe she wouldn't even clean the work station when they finished! "Regular stirs then." she said and picked up her quill to write that little bit of information down.
Meh, okay then. They weren't going to cut the bezoar in half. Eww! What if they cut it, and all this gooey stuff came out? That might be even more gross than the gooey stuff coming out of Lafay's cat. Well, maybe not, but the difference would be the bezoar goo being closer to her than that cat goo. Still gross, no matter what. "Oh, maybe if we put the bezoar in right after the potion boils, the heat of it will help it dissolve or do whatever it has to do." Because like Evelyn said, there would be no way for them to get that thing down the cats throat, and like Lafay said, she wasn't allowing anything to be shoved down it, either.
Waiting for the potion to boil had to be the hardest part of brewing. There HAD to be a way to make it go faster, and one day Destiny WOULD figure it out. Resting her head on her arm, she watched Evelyn stir the mixture and wait for something to happen. So far, she was pleased they hadn't blew up the classroom. Waiting for the potion to boil had to be the hardest part of brewing. There HAD to be a way to make it go faster, and one day Destiny WOULD figure it out. Resting her head on her arm, she watched Evelyn stir the mixture and wait for something to happen. So far, she was pleased they hadn't blew up the classroom. Hearing Destiny say one of the steps, and write something down, Evelyn peaked over to see the notebook...and frowned. "You aren't writing down the steps we are taking." she pointed out, holding in the urge to just snatch the quill out of Destiny's hand and do it herself. Buuut, that would be rude. Besides, Destiny would do it now right?
Nodding at what her friend said about the bezoar though, the Slytherin sat back down on the stool since they had awhile before the next step in their potion and she didn't need to stand to wait for the water to boil. "We can turn up the flame too if that would help." Which, it should. Tapping her fingers quietly on the table as she waited, the third year turned to look up at the clock to see how long it was going to take. It usually took about fifteen to thirty minutes for the water to start boiling depending on the heat it was on. According to the flame they had under theirs though, it looked like it was going to take at least twenty minutes. Aw well, it was better that way. At least for the grass and mint.
Snapping her gaze over to Destiny when she said she saw bubbles, Evelyn peaked into the cauldron to see if that was true. Well, it was true but... "Those things are tiny. We still have like five or ten minutes to wait."
Which, Destiny should write down those steps they've taken. Actually, Evelyn should do that too, just so she could look back later and laugh at her own stupidity or something if they didn't get this potion right. Or praise her smarts if they did get it right. Only time would tell.

Suuuuure she was getting to that. Smirking though, she started on her own notebook notes since, well she couldn't steal Destiny's all the time. Besides, she couldn't read Destiny's handwriting.
And the flame totally wasn't fine. It should at least be a little bit bigger. But, whatever. It was doing it's jog for the moment. Once they put the bezoar into the mix, they could turn up the heat. "Obviously we have to take our time. It's not like we can make the water boil..." Or, could they?
Continuing to write in her notebook, she let out a small sigh before taking a quick glance at her friend. Sometimes, she was irritating, but you just wanted to laugh at the same time. Destiny...was Destiny.
After a few more minutes, Evelyn paused in her notes to look at the contents in the cauldron. BOILING! Good. "You can add the bezoar now." she said, turning her attention back to her notes again. "And can you stir it?"

"Obviously." Destiny mumbled, glancing back at the cauldron. They were going to leave the flame as it was, because Evelyn KNEW not to use the incendio spell, and if she did try to do it, Destiny would not hesitate to steal the wand from her friend. It wouldn't be the first time she stole it..only this time there would be no chase, because the were in class and all.
Leaning in closer to Evelyn's notebook, Destiny FROWNED. Her friend's notes were better!! "Hey, put my name on that, too." she whispered, before shoving her own notebook away from herself. She was sure Lafay would appreciate more detailed writing than the chicken scratch she wrote out.

Nodding at Evelyn, Destiny picked the bezoar up and placed it in the cauldron with a PLOP. Watching it sink to the bottom, she once again FROWNED as Evelyn mentioned stirring it. How was she going to STIR it? There was a ROCK at the bottom of the cauldron. Still leaning over the cauldron, she picked the stirrer up and placed it inside, giving it a few twirls. It didn't seem like the bezoar was moving much, but it was heavy! Oh well. As long as Evelyn thought it was moving.."What are we going to do with the puking pastille? Do we put that inside the cauldron, too?"

Time was getting on so james decided to take rex's go and do more than one step, so he took out his silver knife and 3 blood root stems and a mortar and pestle . He cut each of the bloodroot stems length ways and preceded to scrape out all the fibre and fluid into the mortar and pestle and crushed it down into a fine paste and scraped all the content into the cauldron.
Then, after cleaning his knife he took the whole ginger root and proceeded to chop it until it was in extremely fine pieces around 1mm each, he had, had some bad experiences with potions so he always made sure it was as accurate as he could make it.
He then cleaned his knife and mortar and pestle, yet again, the only down side to potions it can be very monotonous, He pulled out a single pomegranate, his favourite ever fruit, it tasted soo nice, next thing he knew it had rolled off the table, he hated the fact he would always somehow get distracted at annoying times, anyway then after having picked up the pomegranate he used his silver knife to cut it in half and to scrape the contents of one half into the mortar and pestle and ground it out into a juicy paste then emptied it into a bowl and repeated with the contents of the other half and then added all the contents into the cauldron together to insure the reliability of the potion and just after the addition of the pomegranate the potion turned a warm orange colour, filling james with hope as the colour orange its supposed to represent health, at least he thought it did

"Fine." sighing, she took out another parchment and started to rewrite everything on there. Ugh, she was starting to hate writing. Hearing her friend put the bezoar into the almost done potion stuff, she paused in her writing when she heard just how heavy the stone was. Wow. That was soooo not going to dissolve. "Raise the heat." Because, she herself couldn't do that. Destiny knew what would happen if she did it herself....
Continuing with rewriting her notes, for a moment, she quickly thought over what they could do with the puking pastille. Once done with the notes however, she picked up the piece of candy and broke it in half, holding the orange side in one hand and the purple side in the other. Raising a brow, Evelyn looked around for a moment with a slight shifty expression before pocketing the orange piece in the front pocket of her school sweater. It's not like anyone else in the room was going to use it... She herself could find ways though.
Breaking the purple part into small pieces, she placed it in a vial and then pulled out her wand. "Wingardium Leviosa." she said with a simple swish and flick of her wand before tapping her wand against it once it was practically in the middle of the steam coming from the cauldron. "Fixate." There. "Now it could melt slowly and evenly before we put it into the mix."

Evelyn wasn't going to turn in her nice, neat, page? Hearing this, Destiny POUTED and slowly turned her head away. If she had to, she would sniffle and cry a little. There was no way she was going to turn in her chicken scratch notes.
And thankfully she didn't have to!
Evelyn had given in and started to rewrite her notes, which put a smile on Destiny's face. It obviously doesn't take much to make her happy..
But now that Evelyn was adding her name, it seemed her friend was going to boss her around a little bit. Meh, Destiny supposed it was worth being bossed around, as long as she didn't have to pick that quill up and write more. Taking the stirrer out of the cauldron, she placed it on top of the table and slowly turned up the flame, making sure to keep an eye on Evelyn. She didn't need her friend to go crazy over the flame when they were so close to finishing. "I think that flame is high enough now." If not, she'd just have to turn it up again.
Mmhmm. She had TOTALLY noticed her shifty eyed friend place the puking pastille in her pocket. If she was planning on using it on someone, she better speak up..only after class, of course. She didn't need Lafay to hear them, not during the final anyway. Giving an over-dramatic wink to her friend, she turned her attention back to the cauldron, making sure the liquid inside the cauldron didn't boil over and douse the flame. "So, how long should we cook this stuff?"

Brew a potion to treat a sick kneazle
Jason Potter Weasley and James Black
1. Add 1 pint of water to the coldren an heat to 62 degrees Celsius
2. Then add 6 drops of flew water to heated water
3. Split the bloodroot stems lengthwise with your knives and scrape out all fluid and fibrous material from inside the stems. Crush with mortar and pestle into a fine paste and add to the cauldron.
4. Use a knife to finely chop one? whole ginger root and add to cauldron
5. Take a single pomegranate cut it in half and remove the contents, either crush the content with the side of the knife to extract the juice or use a mortar and pestle. Then add the juices that you receive ,as a result, to the mixture.
6. Optional add the leaves and roots of four dandelions.
7. Then add 2 tablespoons dried peppermint leaves to to cups of boiled water in a sperate container stir for ten minuets then add to Cauldron
8. Stir the mixture alternately anticlockwise and clockwise, continue until a light steam rises from the cauldron

Rex added the two tablesppons of dried peppermint leaves to cup of boiled water. Rex waited impatiently for the ten minutes go by by walking around his handywork. Then he finally poured the peppermint leaves in the cauldron.
Looks like we are almost finished" Rex explained to James. "Do you have the rest of this potion ready to go?" Rex asked James.

"Thank rex i'll finish up" james said with a smile, he then stirred to the potion anticlockwise then clockwise until the potion final started to smoke a pure white wispy smoke rose up form the potion, still a warm orange, he then added the final ingredient a single sprig of peppermint, at the time the peppermint hit the potion turned to a grass coloured green and emitted a smell of freshly cut grass, james knew cats ate grass when unwell so maybe this would make it more attractive for the cat to eat.
