If the chocolate wasn't melted, Destiny would have shoved them in her pocket and ate them later. She really didn't need chocolate stains on her school robes and her parents would not be pleased if she ruined another set. Finished with the rest of the cleaning, she turned to Evelyn to see how their potion cube creation was coming. They looked kinda pretty considering what they were made out of. "Just leave them in the tray. If we try and move them, they will melt faster and our potion cubes will just be a potion again."

Then all the extra steps they took would be a complete waste of time. "I think we are FINALLY done, Evelyn!"

Leaning her elbow against the table and keeping her head up with her palm, the Slytherin's black eyes started to close slightly as she kept up the spell, moving from one side of the tray to the other.

Seriously, this was taking forever. However, Destiny said they should just keep it in the tray soooooo....

Whaaaaaat?

Suddenly sitting up when Destiny spoke rather loudly, the Slytherin blinked a few times before stopping the chilling wind spell and looking down at the tray. They did look pretty good. "Oh thank Merlin." she muttered, letting her head fall to the table. Oh wait, ewwww...she hadn't cleaned her part of the table yet.

Mint on her face! Gah!!

Cleaning up her station, she stored her wand back up her sleeve, made sure the orange part of the puking pastille was still in her pocket, made sure Destiny didn't sneak any of the chocolate, and then finished up the notes before slinging her bag over her shoulder and turning to her friend. "Done. We...are....done!" Aaaand in case the Professor didn't realize...

"Professor, we're done." Yup!

"How much mint you think we should add?" Once they had that figured out then they would be able to start the brewing process. Right after they set up their work station and gathered the ingredients that is.

Carter thought for a moment. "Probably 5 pieces." he said. "We don't want it too strong." he said.

He updated that on the list.

Marie agreed with Carter. After he added the knottgrass she reduced the fire then added the chopped mint leaves too. "We should probably let that simmer for about 20 minutes." That should give it enough time to get the juices blended... and give them time to prepare the next two ingredients.

"I'll prepare the bloodroots if you want to crush the bezoar," she said. She first updated their parchment then grabbed the first stem. She split it lengthwise using the knife she had cleaned after chopping the mint. Once it was sliced she carefully removed all liquid and fibrous material and placed it in her mortar. She continued on to the next stem.

"Alright." Carter said grabbing the bezoar. He had twenty minutes... to crush... a stone. That should be fun. Not.

He placed the stone in his mortar and used his pestle to pound it. After the first strike a few pieces of dust broke loose. This was going to be a long twenty minutes.

After two minutes he had a nice layer of dust covering the bottom of his mortar. His arm also felt like it was going to fall off.

Then he remembered something. He was a wizard! He could use magic for this. "Locomotor Pestle." he said aiming his wand at the pestle. He then made an upward movement with his wand (the pestle mimicked this) and then moved his wand swiftly downward (the pestle repeated this action). He did this a few more times until the pestle was acting on it's own.

"Ah, much better." he said rubbing his arm. He then updated the journal.

Errrrr... "How much more do you think we should add?" 'Cause she had a couple more ideas, but she wasn't sure when enough was enough really. Ella peeked over the top of the cauldron, and it was looking rather.. eh.. weird.

Aiden laughed. “Oh yeah. Awesome squared,” he agreed as he crushed up the peppermint leaf with the mortar and pestle. Surely they wouldn’t need more than one leaf of peppermint. He dumped it in the cauldron and checked it off their list. “Okay, then. Milk and fish it is.” This potion would be absolutely revolting to him, but perhaps not to the cat. Hopefully.

He bumped the keel of his hand to his forehead. “Snake fangs. Gotcha.” When she asked how much of each ingredient they needed, he stopped. Ohh. Erm. “Good question.. I don’t really remember…” He turned to Ella. Either they’d have to wing it or they’d have to scrap that idea.

“Well, I think we’re probably good with all the ingredients we’ve mentioned..” He answered, taking a look at the concoction as well. But if there were something big missing, then they’d add it in as well. “What were you thinking?”

Marie laughed just a little when she seen how hard Carter had to work on crushing the bezoar. Glad she chose the bloodroot stems she went back to slicing them and getting all the stuff out of them. As she was adding the last of it to her mortar she seen that Carter was sitting back rubbing his arm while letting the pestle do the work for him. Laughing she said, "Maybe next year you should try out as beater, then your arms won't tire so quickly." Okay, maybe they would. After all he WAS crushing a stone, it wasn't like he was just cutting a plant like she was.

With the three bloodroots stripped she crushed the fluid and fibrous materials into a paste. "I think it's about time to add the bezoar, how's that crushing going over there?" she asked with a smile.

She listened carefully to her partner and nodded along, agreeing with all her points. "Watery, yes... Most human medicines are dilutes anyway, animal medicines would have to be much more diluted than one say for you or I." Yes, so they needed a lot of water.

Fever reducing potion? "Yes! That was the potion I was trying to remember earlier!" Heh. Whoopsie, brainfail. "We need maybe a vitamin source in it, because I know vitamins are prescribed during illness." That was as much as she knew.

"Maybe a dead mouse? I dont know.. It's something a cat eats, right? And I know that could provide them with the energy it usually would." Maybe?

What if..? "What if the things the thing ate, were poisoned?" Lori wouldn't put nothing past Lafay. "A bezoar? Crushed obviously."

Trixie nodded and grinned at Lori. Vitamins. Yes. "Usually you are prescribed plenty of Vitamin C when you have a cold or something. It helps fight off unfriendly bacteria and stuff so yes that's a really good idea" she grinned. So the Ingredient list consisted of Catnip and lemon or something. Well it was a start.

Ooooh...She could have been poisoned. "I like that idea. So we'll grab a Bezoar as well...." she pondered. Now all the pair had to do was remember what went into the fever reducing potion and then they'd be alright. Maybe. Quite possibly.

"Well do you want to go grab some ingredients whilst I remember the potion?" she asked looking at the cauldron that she'd already set out in front of them. Ergh so what were those ingredients again? Jeez. They'd be extremely helpful as well.

She remembered!!! "I think it was Snakes fangs, Toads bowels, willow bark and a porcupine Quill" she answered. "So if we add these, the cat shouldn't be so ill, plus the vitamin, catnip and..." they needed more.

"How about some herbs that help heal Nausea? I know for certain Ginger is used in this sense and Basil is also said to possess similar qualities. So how about we try them" she asked with a grin.

Lori laughed lightly for no reason, and then nodded. Before quickly scrawling the ingredients down.

Lorelai nodded again, and hurried off to go and get their ingredients. But before she had moved very far, Trixie had spoken. "Oh, yeah! Do you want to write those down, then go and get them? It'll be easier for me to remember what's already down." Hehe. Maybe minus the dead mouse, because nothing had been confirmed on that, but the kneazle would need something for energy, and if their potion didn't work, on the big IF, then it obviously would need something to be able to sick back up.

Ew.

Returning a few minutes later with a few litres of water in bottles [she had accio'd those from her room. Only the best water], and the rest of the ingredients in her arms, Lori headed back to hers and Trixie's desk.

Lori turned to looked at Trixie as she returned to her side, and she smiled at her as she started to heat the cauldron up. "Shall we start brewing the fever reducing potion first, then add our ingredients to it? That way the fever reducing part will be there, and we'll know it's going to include the properties we wanted from that potion?" She was unsure of it all, obviously. But that was because Lori and potions had never ever mixed well, so she couldn't be sure at all.

Quickly, Lori watched as Trixie did just that, and added their list of steps to their list of ingredients.

The brunette looked over at the younger blonde and smiled slightly. "Can you do the bezoar and half a litre of water, please? I'll squeeze the lemon, and add the lemon juice once you've done that, and then add another half litre of water." That way they could punch out that part of it, and get it done quicker.

Taking the lemon into her hand, she sliced it down the middle and pressed it onto the fruit juicer the had also accio'd from her dorm room.

Carter laughed. "I think you like me much more handling a ball then a bat." Plus, the quaffle seemed to come around much more than the bludger did. He enjoyed the action too much.

He then waited ten minutes. "We should take it off the flame now. We don't want to heat up the soda." he said. He aimed his wand at the fire under the cauldron. "Finite." he said. The flame disappeared.

"And now for the soda." he said. He slowly poured in the soda. "Alright. That's done." he said after the last drop was added. "You want to add the other two ingredients? Then I can stir it." he suggested.

He then updated the parchment. They were making such great progress. The potion would be done before they knew it.

Trixie watched as the steps of the potion were written down onto their parchment and she studied them carefully to make sure that they had done what was expected of them. They had reasons for why they were using certain ingredients so it was all good yes? And they had something for reducing fever, managing nausea, calming the characteristics of the cat and covering the basis of poisoning. Well that should be enough then shouldn't it?

Trixie followed Lori's instructions, crushing the Bezoar with a wooden object she had accio'd from the kitchen, making sure that the substance was crushed into an almost powdery like state. The Slytherin then added this to their already made Fever Reducing Potion, slowly, whilst maintaining the stirring with the technique they ad learned in the first Charms lesson.

Making sure the spoon kept on spinning, Trixie added the water that would dilute the potion they were making, measuring it out incredibly carefully.

Lorelai finished pressing the lemon juice out of the lemon half she had in one hand, and quickly proceeded to juice the other half. Once she had juiced both halves, she shaved the lemons of their skins, and sliced up a coil of lemon skin into grates and sprinkled them into their potion. "Gives it a bit of zest, makes it pretty, I find. It'll cover up any horrible smells, and the zest acts like bacterial." She explained quickly, before pouring in the lemon juice and the other half a litre of water [it was easier now that Trixie had emptied that bottle of half a litre] whilst being careful not to knock the spoon her partner was spinning.

They were so doing well.

The sixth year began to chop up the ginger and basil, into small chunks with her potions knife, and once she had two piles of diced ginger and basil, she took each in a hand and mixed them together. The mixture of the two flavours together on the chunks could make the nausea solving part stronger. Then she dropped them into the potion.

"I'm going to go get some more water. I think two litres wont be enough. You okay with the mouse and catnip?" She waited for no answer and skipped off to get another half litre of water.

Trixie concentrated further more on keeping the spoon in rotation whilst er partner added further ingredients. The Potion had turned quite a nice colour thanks to the lemon Juice that was added. A pale yellow. A little too Badgery for Trix's taste but it was extremely pale thanks to the water.

Was she okay to chop up the Catnip and Mouse?

Woah no. There was a clue in the sentence, Trixie was a vegan. There was NO way she was touching that mouse. She'd wait for Lori to return. But she did the Catnip, carefully cutting it into the pieces and adding it into the pretty mixture. So not only did it look nice but it also smelt nice and the cat would go crazy for the catnip, cheering it right up. But the 5th year didn't even dare look at the mouse.

Lorelai returned back after a few seconds, empty handed. "I figured we could just use 'aguamenti' if we felt we needed more water." She nodded, before eyeing the mouse left on the chopping board. Okay thennnnnn. She wasn't even going to ask. Picking the knife up, Lorelai apologised silently to the dead animal and started to chop; tail first. It seemed to be done with more respect that way.

Once she had a full chopped mouse, Lori added it to their mixture and watched it bubbles the tail and sink; like the titanic.

Looking at Trixie, Lori smiled softly and gave her a one armed hug as she poured the last litre of water in and added more grated lemon. The previous water would have drowned our the colour and the smell. "aaaaand now that it's a brighter colour and animals like bright colours, we're done. Thanks Trixie."

She grinned and hugged the girl properly.

Marie couldn't help but smile. "Yeah, you're right. Besides, having a chaser boyfriend sounds a lot better than a beater boyfriend." Although having a keeper boyfriend sounded pretty good too cuz well, Carter was definatly a keeper.

She watched as he put out the flame then stood back when he started to add the soda... you know, just in case it blew up... which it didn't.

Phew!

Once she felt confident there weren't going to be any explosions she added the Pepto-Bismol and Re’Em blood. "Okay, your turn to stir. Get those muscles working there," she said smiling at him. She then grabbed the parchment and updated it again.

Trixie didn't even dare watch as the Mouse was cut up and was extremely thankful that Lori didn't even ask why she didn't do it in the first place. But this type of thing clearly upset her. But the fifth year continued to stir, moving her wand in a circular motion, steadily even though her glance was elsewhere.

She smiled as Lori gave her a one armed hug, the water going in and the potion turning an attractive colour. "Oooh Pretty" she giggled. And the kneazle would appreciate the effort that went into presenting the potion as well as what was in it.

They were done? Already?! Yes perfect. The Blonde hugged Lori back and grinned. "It was no problem. I couldn't have done this without you anyway" she giggled and then poured a little of the potion into a vial ready to be given to the Professor.

Carter smirked as a little red came to his cheeks. Luckily Marie was adding ingredients in to the potion. Hopefully she wouldn't notice the hint of red.

Now it was his turn to stir. He stirred 10 times clockwise, then once counter-clockwise. He then stirred another 10 times clockwise, then another time counter-clockwise.

"I wanted to make sure it's mixed together really good." he said. You know, just in case Marie was wondering what he was doing.

He then looked into the potion. "It looks a little gross. Maybe we should strain it." he said. He was sure the little kneazle would appreciate not having to drink the little bits of knotgrass and mint that were floating around.

He then took the parchment and updated it.
