Well, noone had ever called him THAT before. Sage smiled.. a slightly prouder smile than before as he made his way over to test out Patroclus' melony lemony jam.
Just as he'd done during his previous taste testing, the professor took some jam from the small leftovers in the cauldron. He didn't want to mess up everyones jars!
... YUM.
"MMM, this is good!" Sage exclaimed, licking his lips in a satisfying manner. "The lemon really gives it that extra little ... something. Well done, Patroclus!"
After trying Patroclus' jam, he had himself another offer. This time from Alex who had apple jam. He couldn't turn down an offer for jam so quickly got himself a spoonful which he planted into his gob.
"This is good, just the right amount of sugar I'd say. Nice!" You could NEVER have enough jam.
He wasn't sure how the tomato jam would turn out.. but he definitely wanted to give it a try!
So that's what he did.
And it was a little ... strange. Sweet, and tomatoey.
Like ketchup. Hm.
"It's interesting," he commented lightly, licking clean his spoon. Maybe it was 'interesting' because he'd spoon also had apple, cherry, pear, strawberry and melony lemony jam on it.. "Sort of ketchupy, you're right." It certainly wasn't disgusting.
Setting the spoon to one side, Sage gave his watch a check. EEK! It was getting late! "Okay everyone, if you could finish up and jar your jam.. it's almost the end of the lesson. You can leave all your cleaning for me!"
Daisy smiled and nodded. She close up the jam jar and sighed. The end of another fabulous class. She looked at her cauldron, the station around her, and the mess the made when cutting the tomatoes into a watery mess and felt guilty. It was a mess. She placed the jars in her bag and pulled out her wand. She needed soap either that or lo learn a new spell real quick. "Professor, if it's all the same to you I'd prefer to clean up my own mess. Mom always told me that if you make a mess it's yours to clean and it kind of stuck with me."

"Thank you Professor," Patroclus grinned as Dodson tried and liked his jam.
Turning back to his station the young Gryffindor, saw he had made quite the mess, so he began to clean it up, swiping all the skins into a bin with his hand, washing the station down with 'Aguementi', and lastly cleaning out the cauldron with 'Scourgify'.
With his space clean, he awaited further orders, whilst teaspooning out a little more jam. It was really good.
* Remove your jam from the heat, and ladle into a jar while still hot. BE CAREFUL!
Finishing the final step she ladled some of her jam into a jar. She was glad that she was finally finished with this. Placing her at at one side she cleaned her workplace. She didn't really care that she was messy because Herbology was one of her favorite lessons and it was F.U.N. too! Finishing her cleaning her place was now tidy.
Taking a spoonful of her jam she tasted. "Mm... Yummy!" she exclaimed as she took another spoonful. It has the delicious taste of a strawberry but it wasn't too sweet either.

"Professor Dodson, would you like to taste my... creation?" She then looked over at Carter, "You want to try some too?" she asked holding a spoonful out to him. Time to see if he really is a 'brave' Gryffindor
He hadn't been planning on trying any more of the jam, but he just couldn't refuuuuse!
He wished he HAD refused though.
The moment the tomato jam hit his taste buds, Sage felt the urge to ... well, there was no way of putting it kindly... PUKE. It was horrible. Way too sugary and just plain bleugh.
Still, he tried to smile.. "that's... that's real nice, Marie.." NOT. "Nice and.. sugary."

Ladling her jam into the clear container and placing the lid on top once she was done, Evelyn quickly took a small sample from the ladle and was pleasantly surprised that it was actually good. Something to get used to of course, but it definitely wasn't bad. Watermelons and raspberries definitely went together. Hehehe.
Glancing back to the professor when he said the lesson was almost up, out of habit, the Slytherin cleaned up her station, before holding guarding her jar of jam on the table as if it was a rare item...almost glaring at everyone. Yea, this was HERS. No one touch it.
Mwahaha!
"Nice pink jam you've got there, Evelyn." Sage commented lightly as he walked passed. HEHE.

Herminy quckly picked her fruit and and then washed them with a quick agmenti. She then took out her couldron and turned put it over a bunsen burner and turned oup the heat. She then grabbed all the ingredients she would need and added some water to pot and then her grapes. Once boiling she moved onto the next step. She added 2 cups of sugar for her grape jam and let it simmer. She then started to stir her mixure till the sugar dissolved away and was careful to keep the fruit moving. It was not long till she saw her jam take shape. She then turned off the heat and carefully poured her jam into a jar. She was done. Whew. Now it was time to clean her couldron and then she was free to go. "Scorgify", and with that the couldron was now clean and now for her workstation. She pointed her wand at her work station now, "scorgify", now she was free to go. She gragged her finished jam and was off.
"If you've got a spare one on offer," Sage said with a grin, "I'd be glad to take it off your hands." MMM, jam on toast.

Alex pulled out her wand again and casted a quick "Scourigify." On her work station. She grabbed her bag made sure everything was there, before waiting for Zane, would be rude not to wait for her boyfriend after all. She also made sure to replace her wand behind her ear, wouldn't do to lose her wand after all.

Alright! Tomato sauce it is.
Abby picked up the artificially ripened tomatoes before her and her wand again as well. A quick aguamenti and they were cleaned of the dirt and such that was clinging onto them. No one wanted that in their spaghetti.
Now, the parts of the tomatoes that weren't supposed to go into sauce. Like the leaves and stems and whatever. Abby cut them off with diffindo effortlessly before using the same spell the dice them up. Dice. Hehe. Not many pieces were bruised, despite the weird sped-up growth they had been through. The ones that were bruised, she picked out of her pile and threw away.
Next, Abby dumped the good pieces of tomato into her waiting cauldron. The instructions didn't specify how they were to be crushed, so she produced a pestle and proceeded to crush the contents of her cauldron before setting a small fire beneath the cauldron.
It wasn't long before the tomatoes inside were all mushy and starting to bubble slightly. Abby smelled a little burning. Crumbs. She brought the fire way down and then looked at the sugar. Nah. No sugar for her sauce. But some butter and a little olive oil would MAKE it! She looked around. Too bad there wasn't any...
Oh well. Best move on.
She continued to stir the tomatoes until FINALLY they seemed ready. Chunky sauce wasn't a bad thing. Abby picked a jar and ladled the sauce out. Maybe adding the olive oil and butter later would still make it taste good. Ouch! Small burn. Abby stuck her right index finger into her mouth and used her left hand to close the lid of the jar. Whew. Done.
After a quick scourgify to clean up her work station, she pocketed her wand and got up. "Finished, professor!" she declared, showing him the jar of red tomato sauceness. "It's not really jam. It's tomato sauce. But that's quite like jam, right?" It had better be. She had burned her finger trying to make it!

Marie could tell by the look on the professor's face that her... whatever it was she had made tasted really BAD, and that was exactly why she wasn't going to taste it. She wasn't going to let Carter taste it either. She took the spoon back that she had offered to him before he had a chance to put it to his mouth. "Um it's okay if you don't like it professor, you won't hurt my feelings. It's not like I expected it to really taste good or anything," she said. Now that she knew it was aweful tasting she would definatly be giving it to Kay.
She quickly cleaned up her work area and put her green peppers and corn into her bag... right along with that jar of... YUCK.
She looked over at Carter, "You want some help cleaning up?" she asked. His watermelon seemed to make more of a mess than her tomotoes did.

Raising a brow at the professor on his comment about her not so nicely colored jam, Evelyn then narrowed her eyes as she watched him pass by. Pffft. Yea, she saw and HEARD what he was doing there. She could've replied with something about him and Lafay, buuuut since it was so close to the end of the year, she decided to just...let it slide.
He was in luck today. Hmph!
Taking her, PINK jam, back to her bag, the Slytherin placed it in there as well as the sweet potatoes before standing up and putting her back on her shoulder. She would probably use the potatoes later to cook something or experiment but for now...they were hers, and she was taking them
Mwahahaah! "See ya later professor." she said with the tiniest hint of a smirk on her face before heading off back to the castle. She had a good idea of how she might use them.
With his space clean, and his jam done, Patroclus was all ready to go.
Swiping his carrots into his bag, along with his jam and notes, Patroclus grinned as he past the professor, "Thanks for a great Lesson Sir, and a wonderful year of Herbology!"
With his farewell complete, Patroclus headed for the commonroom, his thoughts focused on an afternoon of study....and maybe a few carrot snacks!
Dianna wiped her mouth on her sleeve and packed up. Her stomach was a little queasy from eating too much jam but she was happy.
Picking up some litter on the floor before going out from the classroom to help out in the cleaning she smiled.
"Thanks for the great term Professor! I had a wonderful time with Herbology." she exclaimed before leaving.

"No problem, Professor," Gold said, politely. It wasn't. She was used to cleaning up after herself, and the past three years had taught her to take an interest in helping people out, something that meant she didn't mind helping clean up after others, either.
"Yes, sir."
That half of the work space it was, then.
Gold was glad that she was good at cleaning charms, right now. Like she was, every time she had to clean up a used cauldron. Smiling lightly at the thought, she raised her wand and began to work, cleaning up cauldrons that people had left behind without giving a proper scrub and rinse, wiping surfaces that bore remains of fruit jam, and collecting unused jars which she levitated to one spot, so that they could be taken away, and put wherever Professor Dodson wanted to put them.
