Eeeep!

None of the other cloud shapes were helping the poor upside down turtle! The poor little guy (or girl) was going to be stuck like that FOREVER! What would he do if he (or she) became hungry? The turtle was going to starve and that was just unacceptable. Hopefully, a cloud person would come and help him..

..or at least feed him.

Destiny squinted up at the sky. Mina was right! It WAS an itty bitty Hoggiewarts! The more she squinted, the clearer it became, "That's the Astronomy Tower!" Ha! She could so picture the Astronomy Professor hanging his head out the Tower window, waving towards them. Destiny waved back, of course, she didn't want to be all rude. Scoffing as Mina said what cloud people do, she turned to face her, "I want a cloud pony." She also wanted to be lazy, but she wasn't about to say THAT aloud!

Mina, unlike Carter, knew how to rawr like a real dinosaur. Destiny knew if she was ever in an epic rawr off, who she would pick as a partner. She chuckled a bit before looking back at the sky. What in the name of Merlin's rain boots was a duck doing with a fan? "I suppose he is hot up there, with the sun and all." Destiny now knew how rain was made..

..the clouds were sweating.

"Oh look! Another pillow!" she pointed, once again, to the sky.

It could have been the same pillow from earlier, it was kinda hard to tell.

"Why dont we just say we Santa!" Patroclus laughed, this cloud gazing was making him hysterical! "He is a man with a beard that has a Christmas Tree! Comprimise! The cornerstone of the best relationship!" Patroclus and Evelyn were acting like giggling school girls......well Evelyn was a school girl, but from what Patroclus had seen she was not one to giggle.

"OK OK! I said I saw the Niffler!" The boy cried, trying to hold in the laughter, "Yep definitely mash Potato!" Patroclus scanned the sky and saw an apple, or was it a heart? The boy could not be sure. Spying the girl's snake, Patroclus could help but fell jealous! "A snake, A niffler, and a Rose! Its not fair, The sky most as well just read 'Evelyn!'" The boy sighed, now on the hunt for a Lion, or something to do with him!

Gold laughed. "I guess you get all sorts of octos, in the Cloud World," she said. Her tones were cheerful, despite the fact that the cloud under discussion looked rather disturbingly like an octopus with an eye and a half. Gold made several, cute faces at it.

Go rain, cloud, raiiinnn somewhere!

"That one looks like a clover," she said, leaning forward as she spoke, as if that would enable her to look at the cloud, in a better way. As it was, it hardly made a difference. But yes, there could be no doubt about it - the cloud was a perfect clover. In fact, it was kind of funny, how exactly like a clover it looked. To Gold, of course.

"What d'you say?" She asked Dianna.

"Oh yeah!" she said. Luck!

As she wrote down on her parchment she noticed another cloud.
"That one! Looks like a beard to me!" she exclaimed. "How about you?"

Beard? That was interesting. Gold tilted her head, bright green eyes curious. "If you look at it like this," she said, tilting her head a little further to the left. "It looks like smoke. Maybe from a chimney. But you're right." She straightened up. "It's a beard, through and through, if you don't do fancy stuff to your head, when looking at it."

She smiled, at her own words.

"Over there!" She pointed at a cloud, that looked like nothing but... a cloud. Try as she might, Gold could make no other shape there, whatsoever. "I think that one looks like a cloud," she laughed.


Looking down at her list, Gold frowned very slightly, before raising a hand. "Sir?" Her voice was thoughtful, though still cheerful, when she spoke. "I think that cloud over there -" Her gaze strayed towards it, by instinct -- "Looks like a cloud." Okay, that much would have been clear to anyone. But Gold had no other words, to explain what she meant! She was sure, though, that Professor Reynolds would get what she was trying to tell him. "What does that mean, professor?"

Then she added, "... and should we hand in our lists when we've found five symbols in the clouds, and then continue looking for more if we want to, sir?"

She knew she was having fun.

I see it too she said and wrote it down. Hmmm... she looked to the clouds. I think I see a dog she told Noir while pointing to a cloud that looked like a big dog.

"Right-o, Professor!" He looked around for Abby. There she was. Ah, a Ravenclaw. Maybe he could ask her if they really had a giant statue in their common room! "Hi, Abby. I'm Keefer. Let's get started!" he said.

He laid on a blanket and squinted up at the sky. It was very bright. But once his eyes had adjusted, he found it relaxing to gaze up and watch the clouds roll by. Hmmm... What's that look like? Maybe a star? I'll ask Abby what she thinks.

"Abby, see that one there?" He pointed. "I think it kinda looks like a star, or maybe rather a starfish. What do you think?"

Hmmm. "Fair enough." she said with a small smile. It was only logical to think it was a Santa. However, she still thought it was a tree. Because...it was a tree!

BAHAHAHA! That was so true! "Look! There's my name!" she said, pointing to a random spot in the clouds. *snicker* "No, just kidding. Although, that would be rather neat to see my name in the clouds." Or anyone's name for that matter. Mostly hers though.

Making herself a tiny bit more comfortable on the blanket, since it felt like there was a stone in her back, she continued to search the clouds, only being able to find a bunch of 'mashed potato' ones for now. So, she had seen a snake, a niffler, a rose, a...heart...and a tree. Just, hopefully she can remember all of that.

"Umm..do you have any idea how many symbols we're suppose to write?" she asked Lysandra

Lysandra wrote down what Noir said and when she asked her a question, she thought about it. Now that you mention it, I don't know how many we're supposed to write down.

"Well that was pretty fun." Carter said just staring absentmindedly at the sky again. "We can keep looking..." he said watching a cloud float by. "Or maybe... do you think we'll have to interpret the symbols for homework...? We could get started on that."

Nolan grinned as he watched all the creative students perform their cloud readings...they really looked like they were having fun! Cloud watching WAS always an enjoyable time, especially when you were doing it with another person.

He walked over to Gold and listened to her question. AH. That was a good one. "Well, in that case, it can either mean two things--one, the cloud is actually representing a cloud, and the meaning for clouds from the list on the chalkboard should be used," he explained. "Or, the cloud could not be representing anything and should just be ignored. It usually depends on the rest of the symbols you find...if it seems to fit with the others, you should take note of it, or if the meaning of cloud seems to contradict the rest of them, it's probably just a plain old cloud that means nothing in regards to your reading." he told her.

"Just a few more minutes, everyone!" he called to the class. "Remember you need FIVE symbols to write down and turn in by the end of class!"


OOC: I'll leave the thread open for a few more hours before I assign homework

Alex shook Zane and whispered, "You need two more symbols." Alex told him firmly, she hoped he hadn't fallen asleep.. again. She glanced at his paper ready to fix it and replace the meaning and such.

Abby nodded cheerily to the professor before proceeding to the young Hufflepuff she was directed at. "Hello, Keefer," she said with one short wave. She followed his example and plopped down onto her back so she was facing the sky. Eek! It was a little bright. She put one hand above her eyes to shelter them until they adjusted.

"Hmm." Abby focused on the cloud he was pointing at. It certainly seemed to have arms, like a starfish. "I'm seeing a spider," she said to Keefer. Waaaaait, they didn't have five arms. They had eight. Shrug. That's what she saw.

Lysandra looked to the sky again and looked for a cloud shape. She saw one that looked like a cresent moon surrounded by stars. That one looks like a cresent moon with stars around it she told Noir and wrote it down.

Two more? Rawrs. "Well....let's see." he said, starting to look at the clouds. "There's a bear.....and then there's a uh....what is that? Arrow?" he said, trying to figure out why he kept coming to this class. Oh yea, he had to.

Alex eyed what he was seeing.. she was so not seeing it.. "A bear.. and an arrow huh?" Alex asked a little nonbelieving.. and she was slightly hungry.. she should stop skipping meals to read.

Nolan hated to break up the fun, especially since it seemed like so many people were enjoying themselves. Alas, time was up for their last lesson, and they had other classes to get to. He clapped his hands a few times to get their attention.

"Ok everyone! Time to wrap things up...please gather your things and bring your blankets up here. Hand in your parchment to me with your five symbols and your partners interpretation so I can grade it, and then you're free to go! Unfortunately there will not be a final this year, as I have foreseen a very unpleasant bout of stomach flu coming my way during finals week. You will, however, have homework, and it will be posted outside my office in a few hours," he explained.

"Thank you all very much for making my first year here a pleasant one. You've all done a great job! Have a nice summer and see you all at the feast!" he added with a grin. He'd survived a whole year. A WHOLE YEAR! EEEE! He needed a butterbeer to celebrate, for sure.


OOC: Please RP yourselves handing in your parchment to Nolan and then you may be on your way! Like he said there will be no final this term because I'm going to be out of town around that time and simply won't have time to squeeze one in :] Homework will be posted in all the common rooms shortly.

Alex quickly filled in the rest not having enough time to add the last of them into his meanings before standing up gathered everything together and headed to the Professor, "Here you are Professor, Zane and I's paper." Alex stated hanging it over, "I wasn't able to add in the last two into Zane's portion of what it could mean but I did everything else sure." Alex added giving Zane a look, "I hope you have a great summer." She added before waiting for Zane, because he was so slow sometimes..

Zane grabbed his stuff and put it away. "Thank you for a good year professor" he said, grabbing Alex's hand and walking away.

Alex walked away from the Professor at that one blushing lightly, yes he was holding her hand! Alex was suddenly on top of the world.. even for a moment

Gold considered this. "Or it could be a crucial link," she offered her own two cents. "Because a symbol can be interpreted in so many ways, sir, I think it might even be an omen that one is being misled, or allowing oneself to be misled, by the other symbols or interpretations."

It came down to whether you could See or not, in the end. Without that, it was possible to make a plethora of interpretations.

Which would all be invalid.

She had been having fun!

But of course, all good things must come to an end. She knew that much, a little too well. With a little shake of her head, the sixth year gathered up her belongings. She went through her list one final time, to make sure that it was alright, no spelling or grammatical errors and stuff and then, labelling it with her name, house and year, tucked it in her journal.

"I'm going to hand this in," she told Dianna, referring to the list she had drawn up, in this class. "Thanks for being an awesome partner!" With that, she picked up her blanket, and handed it in, alongside the page she had slipped into her journal, less than a minute ago.

"Great class, Professor," she said, cheerfully. "It was a nice change and -- and it was a good year. Thank you for all the classes, sir - and for the Food Committee Meeting."

Especially for that.

Patroclus turned to the girl before him, and in the most serious voice he could muster he whisper, "I will right your name in the Clouds one day!". The boy held the girls eyes for just a moment, his face as calm as a bay. But like a bay his surface began to ripple, a laugh growing in him. His mouth was the first to go, a smile appeared, then a laught burst out, "HAHAHAHA!" the boy rolled in fits of laughter!

As his eyes scanned the sky once more, Patroclus listened not moving to the Professor, time was up. Rolling on to his belly, the Third Year smiled at his clud partner, as he reached out and grabbed his quill and parchment, "Shall we make a list!"

Writing as he spoke Patroclus began, "Well there was the Mushroom-Palm, the Rose, the Niffler, the Man with a beard....I mean Santa and the Heart," the boy blushed, he had not said that one out loud, "I though I saw a heart, but I am sure it was an apple!" yeah real nice cover!
"And how can I forget the Mash Potatos!"

Awww!

Class was over.

Destiny was just about to watch that duck cloud clobber that grasshopper cloud in the head with that fan cloud it was holding. That would have been fun to watch, but alas, class was over and she did have LOTS of homework to get caught up on. Sighing, she pushed herself off of the blanket and ripped out the page in her notebook she was writing on.

So what that the edges were frayed, the words were still there!

"Bye Mina! I had fuuuuun partnering with you!" she said, waving to the Ravenclaw. They would sooooo have to be partners again some time! Standing, she brushed herself off, because even though they were on a blanket, some kind of bugs could have got on her and ewwww, before walking to the Professooooooor.

"Bye Professor! Good luck with that stomach flu." She held her tongue and decided not to tell him he would need all the luck he could get. She was SURE he knew that already.

She handed over her paper and headed bacccck to the castle not even bothering to look at Evelyn..

..pffft.

Whaaaat in the world?

Raising a brow at what he just said, she was just about to ask if he was alright when he burst out laughing. Aw! She knew it! He was just joking. But really, it would've been cool to see her name in the sky.

Snickering, her attention moved to the Professor as he said time was up. Already? It felt like they were just starting! And she didn't even fall asleep ONCE in the class! Sighing, she sat up and rubbed her head before looking to Patroclus. "Yea..." she mumbled before scooting herself to sit next to him so she was able to see the parchment properly.

... "You saw the heart thing too?" Weeeiiiirrrd. Okay, so it wasn't all that weird since she saw it as clearly as the sun, but she wasn't the one that mentioned it! "Yea, and, the snake." Moving on to the next topic!

PFFT! How could he forget about that lovely snake?
