Eeek! Dianna fell down her seat as a suprisingly loud sound echoed through the room.
"Really now..." Dianna said as she stood up going back to her seat.

Raising a brow as the minutes passed on, Evelyn continued to stare into the crystal ball but had found no more pictures or blurry images than the ones she had already seen. If, she really had seen anything at all.
Sighing, and glancing around, the Slytherin pulled her notebook towards her and picked up her quill while flipping to a new page. Dipping the quill quickly in the ink, she wrote down what she thought she saw down on the page before taking out the parchment that had the list of symbols and their meanings. Not before taking a quick peak at Josh first. He looked, so different in the darker lighting, but the candle light reflecting off of his face was...hyptnotiz- no, nonono.
Shaking her head slightly, Evelyn moved her gaze back to her the parchment, looking for anything that had to do with a key hole and fluttering...things. Finding something that said 'lock' she wrote that down along with it's meaning, not really taking mind of the words before looking up anything that had to do with fluttering. There were...a lot of choices for that one. *sigh* Best just write them all down just in case and choose the one later on that she thought best fit the image in her mind.
After another minute or so, Evelyn stared down at her list in her notebook, trying not to cringe at some of the words. Bugs? Bleh. Better be the funny cute ones and not the creepy ugly ones it's talking about here.
As the gong sounded Patroclus was woken from his trance…..or was it a nap, he couldn’t be sure. However in his nap/dream/trance he has discerned one more symbol; The mask! A masked figure had been appearing and disappearing from his vision during his entire second gazing, so that had to be it.
He added this new symbol to his notes,
SPOILER!!: Patroclus’ Reading
HEART - love, friendship, romance.
CAKE - a wish fulfilled; celebration.
MASK - a secret to be kept.
He starred at his parchment, and he continued to stare, and stare some more. Patroclus was unsure whether it was due to the nature of the lesson, or his inability to understand what was before him, but all he could do was stare. He raised his hand, “Sir could you help me with this! I have no idea!” he was trying, truly he was, but it seemed that orb reading was beyond him.
Oh goodness. What was WITH these kids today? Why were they all passing out on him?! He knew he wasn't THAT boring. Maybe one of the house elves had slipped Calming Draughts in their drinks at lunch or something. Hmmm. He'd be avoiding the pumpkin juice for a while, just to be safe...
Now, how to get all the sleeping children up and alert? After a few minutes of pondering, Nolan went behind his desk and pulled out a small gong from one of the drawers...his sister had gotten it for him as a gift a few years ago for Merlin knows what reason, and he'd never had any need to use it since then. Time to break it in!
He dug through his drawers and found the tiny mallet, and with a bit of a smack--not too hard but not too soft either--he rang the gong.
GONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!
There. That should do the trick! Even those kids lingering on the edge of sleep needed a little jolt too.
Once the noise started to fade away, he grinned at the class. "You have roughly ten more minutes to finish up your readings and take notes!"
Hehe.
Eep.
Gold hadn't been feeling her best, you know. She was sort of... off. Not worried, to be honest, but off. Done with her quill and notebook, at least for now, the sixth year had placed both aside and leaned forward, to look into her crystal ball, once again.
She had seen nothing, at first. Then mist, and shapes, and smoky, little fogs that curled on to each other. Then a face. She was sure it was a face. One she actually knew. Gold closed her eyes, and then opened them again -- there was nothing in the crystal ball.
She should have expected that.
With a little shrug, she looked down at her notebook again. The symbols, the meanings, her interpretation of them - she had already written all of that down, even if the last of the three did not reflect all that was on her mind, for the simple reason that she could not find words right enough for it. Come to think of it, maybe that was a good thing. Gold didn't know if she actually wanted to write down her mind, right now.
Gently closing the notebook, she sat up straighter - and nearly fell out of her seat, when a gong suddenly rang out loud. That had been really, really unexpected. Shaking her head, she eyed her crystal ball.

Well, that was a better reaction than she had thought she would get from her little animal fact. Unlike Man Lawson, the Professor seemed INTERESTED in her fact.
Perhaps the man just had a soft spot for elephants.
Yeah, that HAD to be it.
She smiled towards him, deciding not to ramble on about animals. This was Divination and if he wanted to know more facts, he knew where to find her.

Staring into her crystal ball again, Destiny was starting to think that the elephant she had seen earlier was the ONLY vision she would have. She couldn't even be one hundred percent sure that she really even saw one.
Her imagination was running wild.
Wild like a herd of elephants.
"Sweet Merlin that was loud!" she called out in surprise at the very loud and random gong in the room. Seriously, give a girl some warning! Taking a few deep breaths to calm her rapidly beating heart, she gazed back into the crystal ball which made her blink a few times. There was one of those muggle tools, the walnut cracker in her crystal ball! Well, she knew why that was there..because she wanted to smash that gong.
Picking up her quill, she wrote down the meaning behind the walnut cracker..she needed to figure out the real word, too.
SPOILER!!: Destiny's Parchment
ELEPHANT - be patient, you will be supported with kindness. WALNUT CRACKER HAMMER - an attempted persuasion.
She didn't know what that meant.

Nolan bit his lip to try and not chuckle at some of the reactions to the gong--it wasn't nice, and he'd only done it to wake people up, not frighten the living daylights out of them! Still, he smirked just a bit before going back to answering questions the students had.

Still, the little Lockhart wished for the lightnings to have some sound.
But...er, what? Treyen looked up, "Can't you see them? There's a bunch of lightnings in there" he said, pointing at the ball...except...THEY WERE GONE! "Or at least they were" yeah, he wasn't seeing anything now. But he had! Talk about greatness.
Now...time to interpret, yes?
Er, yeah, Treyen preferred reading the teacups like the last lesson, actually, weren't they tea leaves? Yeah.
Mmmhmm. The boy took note of those things, and shook his head. There was so much uncertainty in his future that he didn't take this sign as cheery as one could think. As cool as the lightnings may have been, they were not at the moment.
Apparently, he was going to think A LOT the upcoming months, and while he'll get an answer of whatever he's asking, perhaps his perception of things may change...for the better. Because he decided to see the lightnings as a good thing. As the great light that will guide towards the better path. Yes.
"Really? Lightning? Interesting," Nolan said with a smile, even though he didn't bend down to look into the crystal orb. "If I try and take a look into the orb, I most likely won't see lightning, because I wouldn't be doing the same reading as you. But, if you saw it, I believe you did, so go ahead and take notes on that," he assured with boy with a grin.

"Alright," Nolan said, walking over to the Gryffindor who was having trouble getting some meaning out of his symbols. "Well, you have the meanings of all of the symbols down correctly...perhaps there's a secret romance or friendship in the works for you later? Or maybe a crush you have right now turns into reality, hence the wish fulfilled part," he explained. Hehe how fun! And full of drama!
He turned back to the rest of the class and clapped his hands once. "Alright everyone, it's been about fourty minutes now so we're all done for the day. Please pack up your things and return your orbs to the holder on my desk. I'll post homework later this afternoon. If you still need to finish your readings, I'll allow you a few extra minutes to do so. Great class everyone, and see you next lesson!"
OOC: I'll leave this thread open for a few more hours to allow people to finish their RPs or get a few posts in if they didn't get a chance, and I'll post homework sometime tonight or tomorrow at the latest. If you're done, feel free to RP your charrie cleaning up. Thanks guys! *hugs*

Fallon got up from her table and went to put everything away. Once she was done, she went back and grabbed her bag. On the way out she turned to Professor Reynolds. "Bye Professor. Hope you enjoy the rest of your day." Yeah, she was really starting to be really polite to the Professors. With that, she walked out of the classroom.
Alex returned the crystal ball to the holder, picking up after herself packing her notes ink and quill along with a sheet of meanings before turning to leave, "Bye Professor." She said before leaving the classroom.

Zane grabbed his crystal ball, his ears still ringing, and placed it back on the desk that he had picked it up from. He shook his head as he left the room, hoping his ears would eventually stop ringing. "Great lesson Professor, see you later." he called over his shoulder.

Hearing the gong, Mina looked up from her crystal ball and blinded. Perhaps she had been staring into it a bit to hard. Allowing her eyes to focus again, she reached for her parchment and wrote down all she saw.
SPOILER!!: Mina's parchment
Crystal Ball:
Size: approx. 16 cm Type: Quartz crystal, bluish tint.
Reading:
NECKLACE - complete = personal relationship stability; broken = instability in a personal relationship.
MASK - a secret to be kept.
BUTTERFLY - overdue happiness.
VIOLIN - allow your feelings to surface.
Again she noticed the broken necklace, just like in her other reading, but this time it wasn't as broken. That was a good sign at least. Looking at her notes again, she look at the other things she saw. It really didn't come as a surprise to her about what she saw, but there were interesting nonetheless. Smiling, she told herself she's look into everything more once she got to the library.
Packing up her things, she gather her bag and made her way up to the desk with her orb. Gently placing it back in the holder, she smiled. "Another wonderful lesson, Professor," she said before taking her leave.
Ellie sighed. "Finally. And I only fell asleep once!" That was a great accomplishment. Seeing as the room was all dark, with only candles, and she had been staring at the silly glass ball for forever. She quickly wrote down 'crup or dog' on her parchment and stowed it away in her bag. She'll make up more shapes and their meanings later. Maybe. "You ready to go?" she asked Nia. Because she was. Oh, she was so ready to go.

Having heard what the professor was saying to others, Evelyn glanced over at Patroclus, raising a brow before a smirk appeared on her face. Secret romance? Hehe. Well, wasn't that just all great being told to practically the whole class. Wasn't so secret now was it? That is, if he really did.
Looking back down at her notes, and hearing that class was over, she sighed in relief and packed up her thinks, making sure this time to stick her quill somewhere in her bag where it wouldn't get smooshed like the other fifty times. She needed a bigger bag. Or to stop carrying her DADA book around everywhere.
Standing up and grabbing her sweater and the orb, the Slytherin smiled at Rae, mentally thanking her for keeping her awake, even though it was in a slightly painful way before hobbling down to the front of the classroom with the crystal ball orb in hand. Eesh. She needed to soak her feet in something or...something. Or else she'd have to pay a visit to the healer. Again.
Yea, that wasn't going to happen. "Great lesson Professor." she muttered as she carefully placed the crystal ball down on the table in front, adverting her eyes everywhere but to the actual professor. Mmhmm. She was embarrassed of falling asleep or anything! Nooope.
*run away!* And hopefully Destiny would catch up with her. Hehe.
They were done already? Nia stifled another giggle at Ellie's reaction, before eying her ball. It was such a pretty colour, but so far she'd since nothing. Zero, zilch. Though debatable whether she'd fully focused after the whole waking Ellie up and gong thing, Nia had doubts whether she'd would see much anyway. And with that decision made, she decided now was a time to pack up and get out of this dark room before she too got sleepy.
She stood up, and packed away her quill and parchment into her shoulder bag. "I'd say so," she answered Ellie, as she picked up her crystal ball to deposit on the Professor's desk as they went past. "So, you got any plans for next period?"

Ellie smiled at Nia. She wondered what her feelings on this subject were. She hadn't made any notes either.. She hoisted her bag onto her shoulder and carried her ball to the front. "Great lesson, Professor. Excellent." Bahaha.
She looked to Nia as they headed for the door. "Not really, no. Do you?" she asked.

Nia followed Ellie to the front, and carefully put the ball back in its place on the front desk. Though she enjoyed trying out the different methods, Nia was certain she wasn't cut out for the whole divination thing. Sure, she could make shapes out in tea leaves, however blurred, but seeing things in a crystal orb was much more specific. Maybe that was the point though, that she didn't need to rely on clues to determine her future. Because she was happy to take it as it came, in her own hands. Hmm. That was an interesting topic for future intellectual debate. Perhaps.
"Thanks, Professor," she said with a smile, before she headed for the door. "I don't know. I'm not sure whether I fancy a walk by the lake, or a comfy chair by the fire, or a trip to the library. Decisions, decisions..."
"Really?
After writing his thoughts, Treyen looked at them again, and frowned a bit. Yes, the Professor had said 'Interesting' but his interpretation didn't seem interesting at all! Well, maybe a bit. It was rather...terrifying, really, and at the same intriguing, very intriguing.
Perhaps the intriguing part was what appealed to him the most. Yes.
And, the class was over.
Treyen nodded, and placed his things on his bag, before returning the crystall ball in the correct place. His seat no longer held any trace of the lesson they'd just had.
"Great lesson, Professor! See you soon!" or not so soon, what did Treyen know? When was their other lesson? Precisely.
And the little Lockhart exited the classroom. Questions and doubts reigning in his mind.
