Diagon Alley

Gold liked owls. She waved to the four here, as she strolled over to the specific booth, a big pink T-shirt rolled up and tucked under her arm. "Hey," she said, to the people in charge. More politely than the word sounds in general, actually. "Nice owls, there." Maybe she could feed them. Or maybe one of them would come down, to sit on her shoulder. Gold didn't have an owl of her own, but nature is good. Often pretty. Something like that. |
Arya spotted the owls from a mile away and made a beeline for the booth. She didn't really look at the sign or care what the booth was for cause they had OWLS. "Hey, Gold." She was standing beside the prefect gazing at the four beautiful owls, though she did spare the older girl a big grin. Seeing these owls made her think of Altair, she would have to visit her owl when this was done. She wanted to pet them, was that allowed? "Can we pet the owls?" She said to no one imparticular, still looking at the birds. |
Hearing about this job fair, Evelyn decided to take a quick peak around to see if there was anything that had caught her attention. She pretty much already knew what she wanted to do, and... Well here was a place that had it in general. Slowly walking over to it with her hands crossed, she noted the two other students at the booth, one she recognized and the other, eh. Staying clear of the rather large and weird eye owl however, she quickly grabbed one of the pamphlets before they could do anything. Ha! Can't touch her. Maybe she could donate No-Name to them. |
DIAGON ALLEY?? Sarah loved that place with all her heart. Her first steps as a witch were down the narrow alley and it's shops. This stall was DEFINATELY going to be something she'd be interested in. Approaching the owls slowly, she smiled at them as she read each of the name tags. She spotted Gold and Arya also there, and gave them a nod as she bent forward to pick up one of the pamphlets.Oh yes....this was it. |

Sullivan was not pleased. Not only did he have to come to a school full of children, he was stuck looking at those four owls sitting upon a perch. If those owls even looked at him wrong he would.. Train of thought lost, Sullivan looked up as a 'hey' was thrown in his direction. Great. "Not mine." he grumbled, as the girl complimented the owls. Did she have any questions? He hoped not. Quote:
He didn't know why anyone would walk up to this booth. Were children really interested in working in retail!? Sullivan shook his head. No, they were more interested in the owls. "Yeah, you can pet 'em. But if it bites you, I don't want to hear you cry." Or..maybe he did. Quote:
She didn't come over all talkative, and she seemed uninterested in the owls. He did notice her pick up a pamphlet, and he once again shook his head. He thought this one would have potential. That quiet sneaky kind of potential..the kind he liked. "Heh." he grumbled, walking over to a chair he had conjured up earlier. He would wait over here, until someone wanted him. Quote:
Sullivan hadn't seen so many at once in all his life..and being his age, he should have. He glared as this one as she, of course, went to the owls. Well, if they were so interested in the owls, Sullivan could leave, right? |
He's grumpy, huh? lol Quote:
Sidling over to him, she closed up the pamphlet she'd been reading and smiled sweetly.Grumpy man could equal fun, no? "Excuse me, Sir? Which shop do you work in in Diagon Alley?" Surely it wasn't the post office with the owls? He looked like he wanted to be rid of them. |
Quote:
Ollivanders. Yush! However, her eyes trailed down the page and landed on some particularly small words at the bottom. "Please owl the respective shop- Oh c'mon..." she mumbled, rolling her light hazel eyes and closing the brochure before putting it back. They didn't get to ask anything on the shops? Was that what the owls were for? Eh, she'll just have to wait till the summer until she could really bug the shopkeeper at Ollivanders for information. Speaking of bugging someone, Evelyn's attention turned to someone he sounded like her grumbled something. Raising a brow, she saw him sitting in a chair away from everything else. Did he work at this booth? Hehe. Walking over, she stood in front of him for a moment or so, hands behind her back and looking utterly innocent. Before she spoke that is. "So... you stuck here all day?" Yea, she was definitely trying her hardest not to smile. |

"They bite?" Who brings bitting owls to a school anyway? Didn't they know that owls plus children equals lots and lots of physical TLC? She turned her head from the owls to look over at the grump. She spoted her prefect out of the corner of her eye and gave a little wave. Now back to the man, would he really not help her if she got bitten? Hmm. |
hehe :D Quote:
Sullivan saw that look the owl with the freaky eye gave him. He rolled up his sleeve and was going to flick his wand out to fix that eye of his, when his vision of the creature was blocked. He rolled his sleeve back down and looked up at the girl standing over him. Which shop does he work at..what a very interesting question. "All of 'em." he answered. Well, he didn't really work at all the shops, but if he wanted too, he could. "'Cept the Post Office. I don't like those." he looked around the girl to glare once more at the owls. Keep that freaky eye off of me. Quote:
It was a bad idea for him to sit down, since now he had not one but two kids standing around him. He felt like that muggle that one time.. He smirked at that thought, and looked up at the girl. For some reason, he'd rather look at those owls right about now. "Obviously." he answered. She didn't ask for details. Quote:
Was someone supposed to walk around with food or something? He was starting to get hungry with all this talk of biting. |
Quote:
He didn't want to be here did he. "Well...good luck with that." she smiled, and unable to hold it in any longer, she burst out laughing. Not one of those kind that fills up the whole room, thank Merlin, but her point was obviously made that she was laughing at him. Poor guy. Stuck with all these kids that ask a million questions. Except her. He didn't have to deal with her much longer. The owls were bugging her and she swore she saw Evolette Mckenna around here somewhere when she was browsing around the booths. Like, the most brilliant previous Head Girl ever. And Evelyn didn't think that just because the girl was a Slytherin head girl or anything. Or maybe she did... |
Selena walked over to the table after catching sight of the owls. Awhh. They were so cute! Selena giggled as she looked at them. What caught Selena's eye however, was the large eagle owl. "Hey there, what's your name?" Selena giggled as she talked to the large owl. Selena was going crazy wasn't she? talking to animals. But really, he, at least Selena hoped it was a he, looked sooo cute!! |

Control Sully, control. He let a long breath out of his nose, closed his eyes for a moment, then looked at the girl. "Is there something you wanted to ask? Or are you just here for laughs?" He'd give her something to laugh at. Quote:
Or perhaps she didn't. Quote:
Not. Sullivan had no idea why the girl would think he cared about what she had. Did it look like he wanted to hear about more owls? No. The four over there were plenty enough. He rolled his eyes when she explained what she meant. "Do you really think we would risk bringing owls that would bite people?" The Healer's bill he would have to pay if that were to happen would be outrageous! Cringing a she said she could stay and chat with him, he shooed the girl over to the owls, "No. Go pet them." He sat up a little straighter waiting for her to pet one..perhaps an owl did feel like biting. And no, he was not telling his name. |
Quote:
"I..." Well, wait a minute. Why WAS she here? She already figured out that this booth was useless for her career that she needed more information on so... "Well, no. Just for laughs I suppose." she said, chuckling under her breath. However, her laughs turned into a sweet smile. She had noticed that he didn't enjoy being talked to. Which made this all the more fun. "Really though. Good luck. I know how some people can people just...so annoying." Yes...she knew. Which was why she was trying her hardest to glare a hole through the Riddle girl she finally noticed was at the same booth. Time to leave! |

So which one to start with? Arya figured it best to work her way down the line of birds. She strolled over to the scops owl and read his name tag. "Hello, Mangig." She smiled at the little owl and picked up a treat, offering it to him. "Wanna treat boy?" |
Quote:
Except the Post Office? Ohhhh, now why did that NOT come as a shock? "I'm not at all surprised, to be honest," Sarah muttered under her breath, following his glare over to the poor owls. What on earth had they done to be stuck on the stall with this je-- ... man? But she wasn't going to be defeated. This stall was her dream one.Since the first time she had seen Diagon Alley, she'd wanted to work there. In any of the shops really.Fussiness wasn't something she was burdoned with. "You know, I am actually quite interested in getting a job in Diagon Alley when I leave Hogwarts, believe it or not," and he probably wouldn't. "So I'd like you to tell me EVERYTHING the work entails.Responsiblities and such, you know .... Please?" Oh, now the man would have to talk, and Merlin forbid, be helpful. |
Quote:
He liked both of these. With a bob of his head, he leaned forward and snatched the treat from the little girl's hand, almost bouncing with glee. For some reason (and he'd tried this earlier), he couldn't get the treats out of the bowl by himself. He hooted appreciatively, wide eyes staring at the girl as if he expected her to give him work now. |
"Merlin on a tricycle!" Pushing his glasses up his nose with one hand, TJ half-limped back to the stall, obviously favouring his right leg. There were students there, students that had accumulated in the short time he'd spent wandering around looking for the box he'd brought with him. The little owl figurines he'd been planning to give out were just plain gone. And he'd tripped over some loose animal, probably someone's pet, on his way back. Sigh. Trystan, a rather fit man on the second half of his thirties, had been incapacitated by a cat. "Sully, being pleasant?" he asked with a grin, leaning on the table behind Furmgoat. The tawny was his favourite, he'd decided long ago. Stroking the wonky wing, he looked at the kids that were eyeing the owls. "You can give 'em a treat or a pat, or both." He failed to mention that Furmgoat made efforts to poo on people when ignored. Which was the reason TJ really really enjoyed him. Hehe. |
Quote:
Reaching up she stroked the owls breast feathers. "Your vey welcome Mangig, want some more?" She picked up a few more treats and held one up for the little guy. "Only two more, and one at a time. Don't want you to get more hyper than you already are." Grinning, she held up another treat for Mangig. Spotting a new, nicer man walking over to the booth she smiled at him before turning her attention back to the little owl. |
Quote:
Treats, Mangig acknowledged, were much more exciting than work. He allowed the girl to pet him, his feathers fluffing up a bit, before he snapped the treat from her fingers. Aaaaaaaaaaand he was off! The little owl flitted from his perch, flying around her in tight circles, the treat already half-swallowed. Hoooooooooooooooooooo. |
Quote:
Letter? Letter? he seemed to be asking with his stare, even going so far as to hop with his other leg to get her attention. His wings spread out slightly, as if he might lose his balance on the perch if they didn't balance him. Obviously the girl wanted something of him, right? |
Iris skipped back into the Great hall, to see a WHOLE BUNCH of new booths. Wow. There was a Diagon Alley booth. It was HER DREAM!! Iris walked over there, and picked up a leaflet. Hmmm... She'd be saving this one! Looking down the little booth, Iris noticed the four owls. Aww... They're cute! She went up one of them (Furmgoat) and picked up an owl treat. She handed it to the owl, whilst still reading the leaflet with a lot of interest. |

He was sure that these kids were ignoring him. Granted, there had only been a few by so far, but Mangig was getting feather pats and he'd had two treats so far, and Herjenmie was being giggled at. And here he sat, his wonky wing slightly extended, with nobody to give him treats or pats. It was because he was pudgy, wasn't it. He gave a baleful hoot to TJ when the man patted his wing, and considered taking flight (to poo on that girl feeding Mangig) when someone finally noticed him. And noticed him in a GOOD way! Leaning toward her hand slowly, Furmgoat watched the girl with his big black owl eyes, almost suspiciously. As if she were going to snatch it away from him. NOM. He took the treat from her hand. |
