Vanessa laughed as she saw the two boys get rejected. However that could be her. Once the professor said to find a partner she hesitated. She stood up and just kind of stood there, awkwardly. She couldn't do this, someone had to come up to her.

Violet was all giggly until Vinny said they needed DANCING partners. Eek!!! There was like no boys she wanted to dance with in this lesson. The cute boys must've been the smart ones who stayed in the common room.

Miles listened to Vindictus before doing a mini jig in his head. They could choose partners. Glancing at Cela he gave her a small salute goodbye and ducked away as fast as he could before she decided to get a comb out.

Appearing next to Fia he bowed as he'd been taught as a little kid and held his hand out to her, "May I have this dance fair lady?" He said with a smirk. Oh he couldn't wait for the ball it was going to be just awesome.

Delilah sighed. And the fun begins... She wasn't expecting to have anyone ask her to dance. Oh well. She crossed her legs and waited for the partners to spread out in the center of the room.

RIGHT! This was more like it. Now that the attention was finally off her and evenly distributed throughout the classroom, Gold knew who she wanted to ask, to dance with her. Well, who she wanted to ask, right now. Hehehe. Eyeing the mint Professor V had handed Chris, she skipped over to the Head Boy in sparkly, blue heels.

"Captain!Awesome! Would you like to dance with me?" She asked, before adding, "Of course you would. So let's!" She tilted her head a little to the left, and looked up at him out of laughing, green eyes. Hehehe. This was going to be fun and crazy and rawr!

They had to ask someone to dance? Or, the boys had to ask someone to dance? Whaaa? Glancing at Destiny and Marie, with a slightly confused expression, which then turned to once again...one of amusement, Evelyn sat back in her seat and looked around at everyone else. It really was a shame that Josh wasn't here... But what did amuse her the most was the fact that Destiny had to dance with someone. Her being obsessed about cooties and all, it would seriously be a good laugh to see that happen. Teehee.

Fia grinned from ear to ear, quite proud that she and Miles were going to experience something rather wonderful with the ball at Hogwarts. "I would love too," she spoke then gave a genuine smile and a bow of her head, keeping eye contact with Miles. Gracefully she held out her hand. Small tips from Brody were paying off and she was proud of herself at the moment.

Destiny ignored Marie as she nudged her. Couldn't the girl tell that she was not amused to be here. Looking down at her stomach, she mentally scolded it for being hungry. Heh, it if wasn't for that, she wouldn't have been here..sitting and watching people get rejected for a dance,and listening to talk about hygiene.

Destiny was clean!

Her jaw dropped as Professor Vinny mentioned finding a partner to dance with. Glancing at the door, she tried to think of ways to escape..

And she needed to think of something fast.

Before the seventh year was even able to stop checking his breath, a flash of red hair appeared in front of him and he was instantly smiling. "Well of course Gold I would love-" but he was taken by the hand and made ready to dance. Good thing he definately wanted to dance with her, had he stood still she would have ripped his arm off. *giggle*

Twirling her around and then catching her in a dancing pose, he waited for the music to start. "Gold!Awesome are you ready to help me learn to dance?" he chuckled. "Because I hope you know how, because I can't." he admitted with a small sheepish grin. All nervousness was gone and the Head Boy was actually excited to dance with such a high spirited and bubbly person that he liked....

"Don't be shy - ask someone you don't know to dance!" Vindictus exclaimed. Would the students who were trying act invisible listen? What was the purpose of a dance lesson if one wasn't going to dance!

"Now when dancing, it's extremely important that you're not grabbing other body parts that you're not supposed to be grabbing. We're going to start with a nice uptempo waltz."


He pushed a lever and placed the needle down on the record. Suddenly, the room was filled with music.

After watching the second demonstration, they were told to find partners. Lysandra wasn't the type to ask first so she just sat there, waiting to see if someone would ask her to dance. She leaned back in her seat and looked around. She was as nervous as ever.

Alex groaned as the waltz filled the room, out of all the music she had ever heard, waltz was the one she hated with a passion.

It was easy for him to say, he wasn't the one being asked or the one dancing for that matter. Hmph. She sighed though. Some had already found partners. No one wanted to dance with a firstie. She glanced around again. Nervous and wondering why she even came to this in the first place... Then the waltz started to play... how lovely...

Mina glanced around. She wasn't at all looking forward to having to find a partner. Seriously, who was going to ask her to dance, let alone ask her to this ball. Sighing slightly, she glanced around again and waited to see what would happen.

Merlin! This was stupid! She would ask someone herself. If only she saw some boys... Were there any boys in this school at all?

Grab a partner? Ack! Not again. Despite having some great experience in the past with teaming up, Blake didn't feel very enthusiastic about this one. The reason...was quite evident; he couldn't find his girlfriend and asking another girl to bop around with certainly was a HUGE risk. Scrunching up his face to indicate pure disappointment, he stood up from the seat and thrust his hands deep into his pockets. Loosening his tie slightly - he just realized that it was too tight, Blake strolled across the room, his blue orbs bouncing from one face to another. Pretty girls indeed...but he couldn't dance...even if he wanted to. Nikki will first KILL him and then feed him to the giant squid. Grimacing, he decided to rather laze around the great hall and watch the others enjoy...

Although if someone approached him, he wouldn't mind getting his groove on. Teehee.

And oh...screechy music. O__o HALP!?

William was blushing profusely at this moment in time, as he watched Miles sand Chris show them how to NOT ask the girls' to dance. Oh this would be embarrassing he thought eying the other side for Keeley, after all they were both embarrassed right? Where was she? Oh THERE! Smiling a bit he walked over with a slight hesitance in his step to where Keeley was standing. "Um, you wouldn't want to dance, would you?" he asked, bowing slightly with a grin. Please say yes he thought.

Vanessa saw a boy and decided to go for it. What could happen? She walked over to [Blake] and took a deep breath in and out. "Would you like to dance?" She asked with a smile. Little did she know, this was her best friend's boyfriend.

Ignoring most everyone else, Celandine simply began waltzing on her lonesome, as if she were dancing with an invisible partner.

Kellen looked around the dance hall, feeling kind of silly. He didn't see anyone he knew who wasn't already dancing, Celandine being all weird and dancing by herself, and he didn't feel altogether comfortable with walking up and asking a stranger. The dumb part was, he had female friends. They just weren't here.

Ugh thought Lysandra. She felt stupid by coming here. She had no friends that were guys and she didn't want to get up and dance by herself, as she saw one girl doing. Maybe there are way more girls that guys here she thought again.

Miles grinned as Fia bowed and kept eye contact with him. In the back of his mind he couldn't help but think how his Aunt would be proud of her then. Her concept of Etiquette was impeccable and a proper Lady knew how to act properly. Taking her hand he glanced as Vindictus put on a waltz and smirked.

Now he was about to show off how he could dance. Pulling Fia away from the group into a space large enough for him to dance he whispered to her, "Now...follow my lead and it'll be fine." He placed her left hand along his shoulder and held his right arm up until it was parallel to the floor, his hand along her back. Grabbing her right hand he held his left hand up slightly bent and stepped forward with his left foot starting the dance off properly. One, two, three, four, five, six. One, two, three, four, five, six.

If she kissed Chris right now, would Professor V kick her out of the lesson? Gold decided he would [as he should, you know. Icky public displays of affection, EEP] and chuckled at the thought. "Of course," she told Chris, in response to his question. "Don't worry, Captain!Awesome. Take care of your feet, and they'll take care of the dance."

That was the statement Mayonna had drilled into her head, at least. Gold still wasn't sure if it helped. Maybe it did.

She offered Chris her right hand, resting her wand hand on his upper left arm. Fun, FUN! "We move anti-clockwise," she chuckled. Chris DID know the steps, didn't he? Because if he didn't, she would just have to tell him. Though it was general for the man!person to lead a waltz. "It's pretty easy, once you get the hang of it." Though Gold had always personally thought that the foxtrot was way easier, to start off with, than the waltz.

Well. First beat would be Chris's left foot forward, her right foot backwards. AND the music was pretty. Yep.

Selena was still looking around. She had come to a conclusion. The guys here were all cowards for not picking up their bloody courage and asking a girl to dance. Selena was getting tired of standing and waiting around. She should just leave. The professor wouldn't notice... hopefully. But still, she had learned not to leave a place without excusing yourself or saying so. So she stayed. Selena started to twirl a lock of hair around her finger out of boredom. Rawrs.

Now the dreaded moment....they were supposed to ask a partner to dance. Well the boys were. This shall be interesting Simon thought to himself as he glanced around the Great Hall and the girls that sat on the other side of the room. There were a few housemates that he reconized in passing but nobody he was really friends with.

At second glance he noticed Evelyn, a Slytherin girl that he knew through his friend Josh and who in turn looked like she was unsure about finding partners as well. He couldn't help realising that Josh was no where to be found and a thought came to mind causing him to finally get up and slowly make his way over.

"Um...would you care to dance?" he asked tentatively.
