Anni rolled her eyes. Purple haired dude seemed to be a bit scared of something. Perhaps the other red headed girl in front was a Prefect? Or something like that, anyway.
'Hey, kid, you alright?' she asked, giving him a little smile, which she guessed looked slightly weird, what with her gothic look and all that. Oh well. 'Oh, by the way, love the hair' she said truthfully. Hers had been purple once. Hmm....

Gold waved to Patroclus, as he stepped into the room. He was an awesome Gryffindor! Speaking of Gryffindors, Chris was here. Gold couldn't remember having seen him, in any other potions lesson. Surprised, she gave him a happy, little smile as he sat down next to her.

"'Lo."

She turned to the textbook she had placed in her lap, half a minute ago. Only to feel something tug at her hair. Except, there wasn't something there. Gold blinked, waited for a second, and then decided it was a figment of her imagination. Must be the smell in the air. She turned her attention to the book once more --- only to feel her hair get tugged at, again.

With a frown, she turned around .... and saw the certain culprit.

"Hey there."

She grinned at the kid.

Zane lumbered into the classroom and sat down beside Alex. "Morning Professor Lafay." he said, smiling up to the potions master.

Eli's face turned red at that (totally clashing with his hair. The fashion police are never around when you need them!). He hated it when people mentioned his hair. He hated his hair. But there wasn't much he could do about it, and he didn't like to talk about what happened to it, either.

He nodded at the older Ravenclaw girl, scooting his chair a little closer to her. She seemed older than the she-snakes. Maybe she could protect him if the Gryffindor prefect wouldn't.

"Hi." he said softly, shooting Professor LaFlame a quick glance. She didn't seem to notice him. Good. "I'm Eli. What's your name?" He was trying to act casual but kept glancing nervously at the she-snakes.




He smiled back and waved a little. "Want to sit by me?" he asked her, trying not to sound at all desperate. So she was already seated. This seat, all the way in the back, was MUCH better, of course! Yeah! Why wouldn't a prefect want to partner up with a first year with no potions skills to speak of, instead of the prefect snake who was probably whiz-bang amazing at potions? Yeaaaah. This would work.

Anni smiled at the small boy as he scooted nearer to her. He seemed a bit scared of the Slythie girls sitting on the other side. She gave them a signature Anni glare, and then turned back to the little 'Claw.
'Hey there, Eli' she said, smiling again. 'I'm Antoinette, but no one ever calls me that except my mother. Call me Anni'

Evelyn rolled her eyes as she took out her potions notebook and a pencil. Why she had a growing interest in pencils, she didn't know. But the roll of her eyes weren't because of that.

She knew what the Ravie kid was trying to do. It's not like he was being oh so secretive about it. And doing spells in a classroom before class started? With...Lafay as a teacher? Ha! He should've been a Gryffindor.

Noting the one empty seat however, the Slytherin looked around to see if she could spot anyone else to fill the seat before Gold or anyone else did, but she saw none. Dang. Oh well.

Good gosh, the kid sounded scared. He wasn't scared of Professor Lafay, was he? For some reason, Gold doubted that. She wasn't sure how to answer his question. To be honest, she really, really wanted to sit with Raiden and Chris. Raiden, she liked in general. Chris, that should be clear. He was her boyfriend, after all.

She liked spending time with him.

But then there was the fact that she was a prefect, and she was expected to be nice to younger students. Help them out and everything, you know? She couldn't actually prefer her boyfriend or a good friend, over that. Or at least, that wouldn't be just. So she bit on her lower lip for a second, for a really small second, and then smiled at the kid.

"Sure."

She turned to Chris and Raiden and made all sorts of cute, apologetic faces. "See you guys later," she said, simply. She picked up her potions kit, and walked over to the younger boy, gracefully taking a seat besides him. She could see the back of Chris's head from here. He had a cute head. Wait, what the heck was she thinking? She turned to the boy.

"I'm Gold. You alright?"

Then she added, "You shouldn't use magic in class without the professor's permission. It's impolite and can cause damage." He looked kind of scared-ish, and she didn't want to scare him any further. But this was something he should know and remember. He could earn a demerit or cause his house to lose points, that way.

Tori, who loved potions class, strolled into the classroom with purpose before a seriously ominous scent hit her. She hesitated a bit before continuing to her seat. It was potions class any scent could hit you. Looking up she saw her Potions Mistress, "Good morning Professor."she said, quietly, mostly because of the scent. She continued to her seat, sat and pulled her robes up over her nose.

Alex gave Zane a smile small as he took a seat next to her. She couldn't wait for the Professor to finally start the class, would be interesting, she thought looking at the caludron the Professor had out, yes most interesting.

Pfft, so the boy thought he would be clever and ask Gold to sit by him. That was fine with Marie, you know since Marie and Gold were friends. Yeah, take that little Claw. However, she had a feeling Gold wasn't going to move since she was now sitting there with Chris. Why would she want to come sit with a little firstie when she had her cute boyfriend to sit with. Yep, this...

What...

Gold did come over to sit with them. Well now wasn't this a cozy table, what with five people at it and all. She looked at Destiny and Evelyn who were also sitting there with them, then over to Gold. "Hey Gold, haven't seen you around much lately." Of course that could be because Marie was spending most of her time with Carter and really didn't seem to see much of her friends, you know except in classes.

"You get to shine today, you ready?" he said, smiling. He was excited to be able to see how excited Alex got at Potions, and he began to wonder if he was like this in Herbology.

Alex smirked, "Well yeah my favorite class." She responded focusing on the class and Professor, she needed to make sure she didn't mess up or cause the Professor to take points for talking after all.

Eli really liked the little glare Anni gave the she-snakes. He beamed at her. "Hi Anni." he said quietly. She seemed really really friendly. It was nice to have a comrade in the room!

He nodded soberly. "I know, I just -- I was too far away to tap your shoulder and I really wanted you to sit by me. I'm Eli, by the way. Pleasure." he said with a shy smile at the older girl.

And then... the she-snake talked to Gold. His jaw dropped. Gold and She-snake weren't friends... were they? Had he just inadvertently sat himself in the dead center of Bullyland?

Oh no! I should'a asked Anni to sit by me instead! Too late now, though.

Anni grinned back as Eli beamed as her. He seemed nice, and she guessed she'd glared at the right people. They must be kinda mean, picking on a firstie like that. Maybe she should have a chat with them later... 'So, you're Ravenclaw, right?' she said, looking at his robes. Blue was Ravenclaw, right? Hers were blue...

Whistling a cheerful melody Joshua entered the potion classroom yet the moment he stepped in the place his whistling turned into repeating coughs as he breathed the disgusting smell. ''Yuck. This's worse than dragon poo'' he said with a sour expression and he was about to comment on it further yet when he saw the professor sitting there, he decided that it would be a wise act not to do it. ''Well...Hi, professor!'' he greeted the woman with a wide smile and sat down on a random seat.

He nodded happily. He loved being a 'claw, especially because that meant his Head of House was his favourite quidditch star of all time. "Well spotted, I see you are as well." He smiled at her, liking the fact that they shared a House in common. "Best and the brightest, are the bronze and blue." he said with a grin.

"Thank you, by the way. For the corridor." he said, glancing back at the she-snakes. He had a Protector in the room!

Amy waked into the classroom and took her usual bench, waiting for the lesson to start she tied up her hair and pinned all the lose strands so that they her hair wouldn't get singed like last time

"Nice hair..." she said sarcastically.

What was this... politeness from the male prefect? HER male prefect... That was new. She smiled as she nodded back to him. "Nice to see you in class, Master Kururugi." She said.

"You are..." Why did she go to sit in the back? "welcome..."

"Hello Miss Shepard..." She said to the girl.

Hecate looked at the boy, "People who speak of the weather usually have nothing better to say." She said raising her eyebrow. "Silence is always Golden in those cases."

Hmmm three snakes and a baby eagle... "Hello Miss Salazar." She said her voice a little louder. She hadn't acknowledged her.

Hmmmm...

"Hello Miss Malfoy." She said and watched her sit.

"Miss Newtington, it's merely a smell." She said to the girl.

"I am, thank you for asking." She said.

"Hello to you Miss Silver." She said.

"Good day," She said to the girls.

"Don't make that face Master Greenwood," She smirked "I'm sure the girls prefer you to be prettier." He was a pretty boy...

"Morning..." She said smiling at the girl.

"Good day Miss Laksh" She said and watched her take her seat.

"Morning..." she told the boy and said. "Please take a seat."

"Good morning." She said looking at the head boy cautiously.

"Hello," she said to the girl.

"Come sit here, Master Jarod..." She said to the first year showing him the desk that was directly in front of her. "And no more magic in my class unless I say so."

"Morning... " She said.

"Miss Laksh, return to your seat." She said looking at her sternly.

"Yes, Yes, Good morning and all..." She said waving the girl in.
She sniffed it again... "No, it isn't..." She told the boy. "Yes Hello, take a seat I'm starting class."

No greeting... hmmm.

She looked over the three snake girls in the back and smirked. "So... who can tell me what girl's biggest fear is when they are your age?" She asked.

Chris raised his hand nervously. He wasn't sure if he was more worried about the professor or how the girls would react. "Um they don't like to get their clothes dirty?" he asked but really who did?

Eli turned red again as she made fun of his hair. He scowled at her, his eyes welling up. A teacher made fun of him! In front of everyone! Weren't professors supposed to be kind and supportive? Maybe it was just that all snakes were bullies. He blinked hard so the tears would go away and nodded as she directed he sit...

Right in front of her.

Mean old professor! That nasty smell probably wasn't even the cauldron. It was probably her own meanness oozing out of her skin. He got up, gathering his things and shooting Anni a sad look. At least it got him away from the she-snakes. Though Gold seemed nice enough.

With a sigh, he shuffled slowly toward his desk of doom, front and center.

At least he could earn some points for Ravenclaw. He raised his hand. "Oh! Oh! Professor! It's cooties! Girls are scared of cooties!" he knew he had this one right!

Oh crud.

Professor Lafay was making the boy move away from them. Where is the fun in that?

Destiny turned to the boy with the purple hair and grinned..if he thinks sitting next to her and her friends was bad, wait until he had to sit next to Lafay. Hehe.

Turning back to the Professor as she spoke, Destiny noticed the smirk, and..why was she smirking? Sweet Merlin, the Professor had something planned. Probably something horrible if they didn't get the question right! Well..she raised her hand slowly, "Ugh..cooties!?"

Yeah, Destiny was scared of them.

So?

Alex sighed raising her hand, she really didn't know the answer though, "Uh.. Having their dolls broken?" She guessed clueless, her only two fears were flying on brooms and her friends/family being hurt.. but she was logical and most girls weren't.

Amy rolled her eyes, did the boy not get the instruction, snakes, such a boy, trying to steal the attention and anyway Cooties? COOTIES? She was not scare of them, nor was any of her female friends, weirdo boy, and as for having dolls broken, how old was Alex, silly child, no one was like 8 years old here, people were afraid of death, being wrong, being alone, but NOT cooties or dolls

Dylan raised his hand, "Having their heart broken."

Amy raised her hand, she thought before responding, hoping it didn't sound stupid, we're afraid of being alone, of having no one? or at least I am, Amy thought darkly, her brain may be wired differently though, she could come up with just a few weird things without even trying
