Default Transfiguration Final Exam

Professor Svensson is standing to the side of his desk with a peep in his hand. Behind him, general directions are written in chalk on the board. Don’t worry about greeting your professor today; just come right in and begin your exam.

The chalkboard says the following:
Come in QUIETLY and claim a seat. Take chess board from Professor Svensson’s desk in the front of the room. Also take a peep and a parchment with instructions for your purely practical Transfiguration final, and return to your desk. Please use only those spells which we have studied this term.

ooc: RP your exam in this thread. When you have completed, PM Waddles with the usual information which you include with homework (username, house, user ID). If you also wish to include links to your posts, that would be helpful, although it is not necessary. The exam will be worth 15 points total and will be graded for creativity and accuracy. You have until December 7, exactly five days from when this was posted. All SS rules apply. Good luck.

Michelle walked quietly into the room. She took a chess board, a peep, and the parchment with constructions off the desk. She then took a seat ready to begin the exam. She read the instructions very carefully before starting. It said to set the peep in one of the corners of the chess board, so she placed it in the top right corner. Next it said to turn the peep into stone. She concentrated very hard and pictured the peep in her mind as she pointed her wand at the marshmallow peep. She made a jab with her wand towards the peep as she said, "duro." The peep turned instantly to stone. She was amazed at her work so far. The next step was to move it to the various places listed in the instructions. She made a clockwise half-circle motion in the air then flicked the wand towards the peep and said, "piertotum locomotor." She watched as the peep jumped to life. She always found that so amusing. She then thought really hard about where she wanted the peep to move. She wanted it to move three spaces to the left and four spaces forward. She watched the peep as it faced the left then hopped three spaces. It then faced her again and hopped four spaces forward. Now she wanted it to move to the bottom left corner. She watched it again as it hopped three more spaces forward and faced the left again. It hopped four spaces to the left, and then it turned and faced her again. Now, she wanted it to move to the center. She watched again as it turned to face away from her and hop three spaces away from her. It then faced the right and hopped three more spaces then faced her again. She was sad the exam was almost over. She was having fun moving the peep, but she continued concentrating on where she wanted the peep to move next. The final place she wanted it to move was the space right in front of the top right corner. She sadly watched as the peep hopped to its final place. It turned to face the right again and hopped four spaces. Then, it turned away from her again and hopped three spaces to the space in front of the top right corner, its final resting place. It turned and faced her again. Now, it was time to turn the peep back into a marshmallow. She pointed her wand at the peep and made a jab towards it as she said, "flexi." The stone peep immediately turned back into the marshmallow she originally had. The final task was to break the chess board. She made a chopping motion directed at the chess board as she said,"deprimo." The chess board split in half, just as she had wanted it to. She couldn't believe the exam was already over. It was actually kind of fun, especially moving the peep across the chess board, but it was time to go. She left the marshmallow peep and the now broken chess board on the desk and quietly left the room.

And yet another final. But Destiny actually enjoyed this class. Walking into the room, Destiny read what was on the board. A chessboard, a peep and a piece of parchment. Okay. She grabbed one of each and found a seat.

Destiny read the directions a few times so she would know what to do. She put the chessboard on the desk and placed the peep on the bottom right hand corner. Now the fun part..
She pulled out her wand and pointed it at peep, 'Duro.' The peep was now stone, 'Funny looking stone peep.'

Next step. Destiny had to make her little stone peep animated. Easy! Pointing her wand, she muttered 'Piertotum locomotor.' The little duck peep stretched his neck out. 'It. Is. Alive!' And now they had to get it to move all around the board. She pointed her wand and told the peep where to go, 'To the top left hand.' The peep did this slide thing to the opposite corner of where it started. Done.

Destiny made the peep go back to its starting position so it could do the next part. 'Now move three spaces left and four spaces forward.' The duck slid on over to the correct square. And back to the starting square it goes. 'Move one to the left.' Aww! The peep was so cute when it slid. And one more to go. For the last time Destiny made the peep return to its original spot. 'To the center of the board!' The little peep sure looked out of breathe as it made its final journey. When the peep reached the square closest to the center, Destiny wanted to clap, but didn't.

And now for the last parts. She pointed her wand at the peep and muttered 'Finite.' The peep stopped moving. 'Flexi!' And it was a normal marshmallow peep again! Destiny moved the peep off of the board so she didn't hurt it breaking the chessboard (not like peeps can get hurt). And now the very, very fun part! She pointed her wand at the board and concentrated really hard 'Deprimo!' The chessboard had a big hole in it and as soon as Destiny picked it up, it fell apart. And Destiny was finished!!

Tavelon sat quietly, taking peep in hand, and read the instructions on the chalkboard.

Now how was he supposed to be quiet and say all these spells?

He decided to chance it and not attempt nonverbals (Which he didn't think would be required until much later)

Tavelon was much more comfortable here, at least he could practically apply what he learned. He set the peep on the board, resisting the urge to bite it. Going back over the instructions, he jabbed his wand at it, muttering "Duro". The peep instantly lost it's squishy marshmallowness that made it so fun, as it hardened into stone. It certainly wasn't too tempting to eat now. Well... not toooo tempting.

Tavelon noticed that other people were speaking, so he cleared his throat and said "Piertorum Locomotor" pointing at the peep. It stretched and ruffled it's stone wings, cracking and sending little chips of rock over the board. "Um" Tavelon started "Go to the top right corner, I mean, my top right" How much did it really understand? Apparantly it did, as the peep waddled it's way up to the top righthand corner. "Good. Now" He counted "Seven spaces to the left" he said, directing it to the top lefthand corner. "Come on, move along" he said, though that had no effect on it's speed. "Now, down 4- actually, diagonal 4 spaces" he said and it waddled down right next to the original square. "And diagonal just a little bit more" he said, as inched a little further towards the center "More" he said. It moved a little more and was almost right over center board. "Flexi" Tavelon said, turning the peep yellow and squishy again. He picked up one of the pieces that had crumbled off and broke, popping it into his mouth.

"Deprimo!" he commanded a little forcefully. The board shattered and the peep went flying. Tavelon made a grab for the peep and caught it as it was blown from the chessboard. He returned the peep and exited. Another final down.

Jason came into the classroom and read the instructions on the board. He went and took a chess board, along with a pink Peep and a parchment with the instructions on it and found a seat at the middle of the classroom.

After reading over the instructions, Jason set the peep in the upper right hand corrner. He stared at the peep and said the word "Duro". Suddenly, the peep didn't seem so soft and squishy, it was beginning to hardden into stone. Staring at the peep again he said "Piertotum locomotor" and willed the thing to move. Slowly, very slowly, it began to drift across the chess board until it finally reached the lower left corner of the board.

Then he looked at the original spot the peep had started from, the spot in the upper right corner, and counted out three spaces to the left and four spaces in front of that spott. "Over there, move!", he told the rocky little piece, and it began to drift toward the spot he was concentrating on with all his mind, finally landing there. Good. Now he had to get the thing to move next to one of thee spaces near the starting point, he chose the one just to the left of the original spot. "Over to that side, please," he ordered the hard little candyy, and it began to slide towards the correct spot.

He was nearly finished, and just had to get his peep to move to the center of the board, or as close as he could get it. "Go there," he said, stariing at the spot on the chess board which was closest to center. It didn't seem that the peep wanted to move, but then it finally began to slide across the board and landed on the spot he had in mind. Excellent! Now he could return the peep back to its original squishy form. "Flexi," he said, noticing it become soft, pliable and mushhy once again. Silly peep!

There was only one step left. "Deprimo", he said, looking directly at the chess board. It began to break into pieeces in front of him, just as it was supposed to do. He was a little hungry, and he gazed at the peep for a moment but realaized he wasn't allowed to eat it but to leave it on the desk along with the broken board. With a quick look back, he turned and left the room.

Humming a really catchy song that had been stuck in her mind for a few days now, Evelyn came into the Transfiguration classroom, looking around happily before reading the board. Oh, have to be quiet. Immediately stopping the song she was humming, she went over and took a chess board, a peep, and a piece of parchment before moving to a desk near the back. 'Hmm, more peeps. Great.' Reading over the instructions on the parchment, which seemed easy enough, she stuck the parchment next to the chess board and laid her peep right in the middle of the board. Wait... Okay so setting the peep in the right corner of the board closest to her, Evelyn took out her wand and pointed it at the peep while saying "Duro." The little peep slowly turned turn stone. Maybe a little too slowly...

Shaking out of her thoughts from doing something less than perfect, she glanced at the instructions one more time, memorizing where she had to move the peep in the minute she read the parchment. 'Opposite corner, big L, corner neighbor, and center of board. Got it.' she thought, turning her attention back to the peep. "Piertotum locomotor" she said quietly, making the weird half circle, flicking, movement with her wand and concentrating on the opposite corner first. "Move across to the corner there." she mumbled, directing the peep where to go first. The peep moved quite awkwardly across the board and to the opposite corner. Raising a brow, not really knowing whether to laugh or be disappointed at the peep's movement, she continued on with the directions. Counting out the three spaces left and four spaces forward from the right corner, she directed the peep to go there next, nodding her head at the tune that popped up into her thoughts again.

"There, please." she pointed to the spot she wanted the peep to go to, concentrating hard, but also having the song playing in the 'background'. The peep went to the correct spot like it was supposed to, but it still moved weird. It looked like it was...jumping? But it wasn't at the same time. 'Weird peep.' she thought as it finally made it to the space she indicated to. "Back to the neighbors." she said, amused with her own words, even if it wasn't all that funny. Pointing out where the peep should go, she watched it jumped/moved/wiggled it's way to a space right next to the corner it first started out from. Wait a second. 'Is it...dancing? No! Don't do that!' It suddenly stopped its little wiggle jump and just slid smoothly towards the space next to the corner. Okay, no more thinking of music while doing this.

Letting out a soft and quite breathe, she poked the peep gently, smiling at the thought of almost being done. "Center and straight." she ordered, almost saluting the little peep. It was so good, listening to her and all. Like it had a choice...*muwahaha*. The peep slid over to the center of the board, or at least as close to center as possible and became still once again, waiting for another order. Well too bad! That's all the orders it's going to get. Pointing her wand at the peep, she muttered "Flexi", and watched as it turned to its original fluffy and squishy self. Picking up the peep, Evelyn set it to the side of the chess board...and now the fun part!

Making the karate chopping motion with her wand, and with a "Deprimo!", she watched as the chess board broke. Satisfied with her work, Evelyn stood up and pushed in her chair, sticking her wand back up her sleeve where she usually kept it. Patting the little peep on its head for no apparent reason, she left the things on her desk like instructed and left the classroom. Yay, final done!

It was exam time - again, grrr. Frowning, Blake lazily walked into the class and sighed. Gosh! He should stop frowning so much. He had studied last night - surprisingly, and had crammed soooo many spells and stuff so why the need to frown? Can't he simply enter a classroom in good spirits.

Scratching his cheek, Blake smirked This would be a piece of cake, he thought, as his eyes darted around and at last fell on the chalkboard right in front of the class. Oh he was so ready, that cramming stuff is good. He'll easily right a hundred page essay if needed be. Chess board? Saaay Whuuut? Peep? Whut whut? Why would he need a pee- wait a minute. Glancing around he noticed the students doing weird things to the poor peep with their wands. Wands? He needed a wand for this exam? Grrr... frowning, Blake dashed out, almost stumbling on his steps and rushed back in within a few seconds with his wand.

Gulp. He.didn't.practice.the.spells. MERLIN!

Taking the chess board, the peepy and parchment, Blake snatched a seat in the middle of the classroom and smacked his head on the desk, lightly. You can do it Blake, you're a wizard. How hard can it be to work some spells without practice? Inhaling deeply, he arranged the the objects on his desk and began.

Quote:
Set the peep in one of the corners of the chess board. Turn your peep into stone.
Okay...the peep..yeah. He placed the peep roughly in the corner of the chess board and grinned. That wasn't hard, yay! However, he mentally scratched what he just thought on reading the next bit of the instruction. Stone?...stone..stone............DURO!?? Oh gosh...riiiight, that's the spell. Beaming, he firmly held his wand in hand and jabbed the little peep while chanting, "DURO!" He peeked with one eye shut, watching as the poor peepy slowly but definitely turned into stone. Woot! It worked. Perfect, let's move on.

Quote:
Move your peep to the following places on the chess board, in any order, using “Piertotum locomotor”:
Quote:
--the opposite corner from where your peep started
Ugh..opposite corner. Okay. Gripping his wand once more, he tried pronouncing the spell mentioned in the instructions, "Pier..WHAT?..locomotor.." Blake mumbled, failing at pronouncing it correctly, "Pier-to-tum Locomotor!" He said in a low voice but nothing happened. Faiiiil. Think.think.think...WAND MOVEMENT! Stooopid. Looking at his wand glumly, Blake racked his brain for the proper wand movement for Piertotum locomotor. C'mon...c'mon....half..circle..clockwise and then...a flick! Yippe. Grinning, he confidently chanted the spell with the correct movement, "Piertotum locomotor!" Voila! The peepy, oh ooooh, it was animated, just like it should. Glancing at the parchment again, he muttered, "Move there, peepy." He said coolly pointing in the direction of the opposite corner and the peep followed. Phew. Good peepy.

Quote:
--three spaces to the left and four spaces forward from where your peep started
Requesting the peep to kindly move back to it's original position, he sneaked a look at the parchment. Ready? Lets go, "Move three spaces to left and ..." He trailed off, waiting for it to follow the first command, it might get confused. Who knows. "...four spacees forward, peep?" The little stone peep happily skidded towards it's new destination. 2 more to go.

Quote:
--one of the spaces next to where your peep began
This exam was turning out to be fun and thankfully, he was good with the wand and all. Thanks mum. Clutching his wand again, Blake requested it to move "2 spaces to your right...." And it followed the orders like a good little yummy peepy.

Quote:
--as near to the center of the board as you can get your peep to go.
Hmmm. Scratching his chin, he stretched his arms in air and said, "Center, please." He watched with a grin as the peep slid to the mid of the board. End of game. Dropping his wand on the desk, he slumped his shoulder lazily and went through the instructions again.

Quote:
Then, return your peep to its original marshmallowy form and set it out of the way on your desk. Break your chess board. When you are finished, leave quietly, leaving your peep and the chess board on your desk.
Uhh..? How? He was aware that a spell existed for this or else the professor would've never included it... Riiight? Staring blankly at the ceiling above for a minute or so, Blake looked down, grabbed his wand and pointed it at the poor peep, "FLEXI!" Last minute revision helpssss. He chuckled softly as the stone peep transformed back to it's squishy squashy spongy self. Uh..cute?

Placing the mushy peepy to a safest corner of his desk, Blake snickered. Hehe, here comes his favorite part! Beaming, he straightened up and while pointing his wand at the chess board, he did the karate-chopping action and chanted "DEPRIMO!" BOOM, the chess board fractured or more like broke. Happy.happy.happy. He was done! No more peep torturing. Standing up, he nicely arranged the peep on the broken chess board and marched out.

A satisfying smile plastered on his face. He did it. Amazing.

Take a deep breath, let it go. Take a deep breath, let it go. Take a... Evan slowly walked in the classroom, face white as a chalk. It was exam time. A real exam. Not like the things his parents applied to him at home. His very first official exam. And he guessed he deserved every piece of courage and mind he had, which seemed to have flown off now. He quickly stuffed another piece of chocolate, his tenth piece, and turned slowly to read the instructions. Come in quietly--he thought he had done that fair enough, losing his voice along with his courage--claim a seat. Okay. He sat at the first desk he saw without even glancing who was in the classroom. He could be hardly focus on his necessary actions, he just couldn't work his brain even harder to recognise people around. As he read the rest of the instructions, his face got even paler, as if that could happen. A practical exam. Transfiguration. Which he had missed one or two lessons at -he couldn't quite remember now- and that he very little revision, even less practising. Because he thought he was good at spells. But now he wasn't so sure. He would fail. He knew it. Maybe he should walk out of that door now, before he disturbed anyone with explosions. Though the teacher had seen him now, so he just couldn't walk out, could he? He took a deep breath as if he'd break down in any moment, and got up to take the materials.

With the first set of instructions, he got panicked. What was the spell for turning into a stone?! His face got a crying expression. Think! He slowly took his wand out of his pocket. Maybe it would do the spell itself. He directed it towards the peep in vain, of course nothing happened. Then, with the help of adrenaline, he remembered the spell: Duro.

Now the wand movement. That was easy to remember though, right after that spasm of the word. As he got a little bit of confident of himself, he jabbed the peep, saying "Duro!" clearly. It immediately turned into a stone. He smiled to himself. He wasn't that bad, was he? He got encouraged with his success, and continued with the next instruction.

Thank Merlin the teacher wrote which spell to use. Evan halted though, there always had to be something wrong. Now he didn't know the wand movement. He wasn't in that class, and he just couldn't remember the book's explanation. It was animating though... not a curt jabbing. Circle and...

"Piertotum locomotor!" he half-yelled, half-circling his wand clockwise with a flick. YayWHOA, it worked! Maybe it worked too much. His peep digged its feet like a bull on the chess board and started to run.

"Stop! STOP!" Evan shouted, but it didn't listen. Not being able to control its speed, it couldn't stop at the edge and lost the balance. The blondie caught it just before it fell on his lap. He glared and scolded it. "Follow. MY. Orders." His peep bowed its head as if it accepted Evan's authority. Better. Evan placed it on the board and said "Walk to the opposite corner." while he was pointing the corner. Just in case it didn't understand it. Peeps weren't that clever, y'know. It walked slowly to the spot. "Thank you." Evan whispered gratefully. Maybe they understood some good words too. He then ordered it to turn back to its starting point. It walked there at a normal pace, and shocked Evan yet again. These thingies were smaaart. And they appreciated good behaviour. Chuckling, he said "Three spaces to the left and four spaces forward, please." It nodded in agreement and did so. Wow. Maybe Evan was good at this. He smiled to himself. There was nothing left from his bad mood.

Now with even more confidence, he said "Would you mind turning back to your initial spot, and then moving a space next?" It turned back but hesitated at which space to move. Evan shrugged to show that it could either go to right or forward. The peep-stone chose to go forward, and the turned back to Evan expectantly. Quite amazed with the peep and by himself, Evan muttered "To the centre!" It hopped to the centre. "Good... boy! You're a boy, right?" he muttered to the peep, before -sadly- turning it to a marshmellow again. "You've been a good friend. Farewell." With that said, he pointed his wand and said "Flexi!" It turned into a yummy!marshmellow. Would he be able to eat it later? Hopefully. He hardly took his eyes off it as he set it down, and then gave all of his attention to the next instruction.

Piece of cake, he thought. "Deprimo!" he said with a karate-chop wand movement. The board broke apart. This was the easiest, for he had attended its class. He then checked if he had forgotten anything. Seeing he hadn't, he hopped out of the class happily, full of confidence.

Mmm, another exam. Fyo had looked forward to this one! He was good in most subjects, and Transfiguration was definitely one of the more ... engaging ones. He loved the wonderful things one with a good handle on the subject in question, could do! Yes, it was quite amazing.

Quite, quite.

The fourth year stepped into the room and glanced around for a vacant seat. He spotted one, not far from the main door, and sank down into it. Then he peered up at the chalkboard. Chessboard? Shucks, now he had to get up again. But that wasn't much of a bother, really - life had been very fine, since the day he had met Trubury Bananasticks Goatpink Popcorn, The Second - the little ladybird he had found in a tunnel, and decided to name, to be more precise. But why was he thinking of her, right now?

Ummm ... Fyo blinked, retrieved a chessboard from Professor Svensson’s desk, and sank back into his seat. Ah yes, he could FINALLY begin this final now. In peace, too.

Quote:
Set the peep in one of the corners of the chess board. Turn your peep into stone.
Right, that was easy. Fyo had had additional practice with the spell whose usage was required here, because they had learned it in Defense too, this term. Which was GOOOD. The fourth picked the squishy peep - it felt like warm butter which, of course, reminded him of Trubury Bananasticks Goatpink Popcorn, The Second, once more. Because he was PRETTY sure Trubury ... The Second loved butter. Warm butter - and examined it a bit.

"You need a name," he told the peep. "I can't call you peep, ya know. That wouldn't be right." He looked thoughtful for a bit, then grinned broadly. "Ah yes, you're Eureka, from now on. Your last name might be Cheese Potato, but you don't need to worry about that, right now, Eureka."

That settled, he quickly performed the correct wand movement - a little jab. Well, sort of. It was like ... pointing your wand at the object the spell was aimed at - and said, tones as clear as possible, "Duro!" At once, his peep began to harden and, within seconds, it was sheer stone.

One step down ... only 6854573 more to go.

Quote:

Oh wow, a WHOLE lot of instructions. He would have to tackle them, one by one, it seemed. "Piertotum locomotor!" the fourth year said clearly, as he pointed his wand at the now-stone peep. It was now animated and ready, as Fyo knew, to listen to instructions.

"Top left, please," he said, politely - one had to be polite to peeps, right? Otherwise, they might feel BAD, and that would be oh-so-NOT nice. "Maybe you could ... slide to that spot? It would be a lot of fun, I'm sure you would like the exercise, Eureka."

The peep, of course obeyed at once. It did a little gliding movement and, within moments, it was at the correct spot.

Three cheers for Eureka!

Did this mean Eureka had to ... come back to his original position? Fyo frowned a bit, then told Eureka so. Once the peep had returned to the spot it had started from, Fyo examined his chessboard.

Ah yes, he had eeett!

"5E, please Eureka," he said, with a nod. Eureka obeyed, which meant the little peep had now moved three spaces to the left and four spaces forward from where he had initially begun, and it was to move on to the next bit of instructions. He requested Eureka to return to his original position, then glanced at the board again.

One of the spaces next to where your peep began, it read. That would be ... "Hop to 1G, Eureka," Fyo said brightly and, obeying as was his custom, Eureka hopped - literally hopped - to the next block. The fourth year ginned at his peep, then glanced at his chessboard.

Sooo ... where was its centre, then?

"I think you need to go to the point where D5, D4 and E5 and E4 meet, Eureka," Fyo told the little peep. "You see, this chessboard doesn't really have a 'block' that could be called an exact centre. What do you think?" He looked at the peep which, of course, remained silent. That probably meant Eureka agreed with him, right? Probably. Sooo Fyo gave the peep a huge grin, pointed to the 'centre' of the chessboard and said,

"Come back to your original position and ... you're off to where D5, D4, E5 and E4 meet, then, Eureka -- and we can give some sort of dance a try while we're at it, can't we?" The peep obeyed once more, moving as if in step to some sort of slow, very-nice-to-hear melody, and Fyo grinned when Eureka had finally reached his destination.

"You did a GOOD job, Euro!" He said, lowering his hand to pat his peep. "You're one, awesome peep!"

Quote:
Then, return your peep to its original marshmallowy form and set it out of the way on your desk. Break your chess board. When you are finished, leave quietly, leaving your peep and the chess board on your desk.
What? Nuuuu! Fyo did NOT want to break the purtty chessboard. But oh bother, it seemed like he would have to. First things first, though -- which meant, of course, that he had to, errr, 'un-stone' Eureka.

"I think I shall change your name, too," he told Eureka, quite thoughtfully. "You can be Buttermilk, once you're back in your original form ... what did you say? That's too girly a name? Oh fine, you can stay Eureka, if that's the way you like it. Well, then ... Flexi!" He declared, with the correct wand movement and, right in front of his eyes, the peep had softened, turned squishy and yellow and ... UBERR CUUUTE?

Why, yes indeed!

"You're cheese again, Eureka - no wait, you're marshmallow," he told his peep, as he patted the top of its head. Very lightly, of course - he didn't want to harm the marshmallow fellow. "But I hafta break your home, now." The chessboard, of course. "I hafta 'cause it's part of my final. Butttt I'll get you a new, even prettier one, if Professor Svensson will let me." He nodded at the peep, and then turned to the chessboard.

"Deprimo!"

Right enough wand movement, and it happened as Fyo had expected -- there was that gust-of-wind-ish feeling, and then he was staring at the floor, through a rather big crack in the centre of his chessboard. The thing broke apart, and he found he was holding two pieces of it, one in each hand. OOOPS. But he had to do it, Eureka would understand.

"I have to go now, Eureka," he told his peep, keeping his tones as low as he had kept during the rest of the final - low enough to make sure they were not overheard by any of the other students, because Fyo did not want to disturb them. "But I promise to get you a new chessboard. Or repair this one. If Professor Svensson will lemme, of course." He patted the top of the squishy peep's head once more, and then pocketed his wand.

Time to leave.

Quietly, of course.

Shumeeta flipped her hair as she walked into the room. Not that her hair was very long. It was ..... short, spiky and violet - the last attribute was the result of an 'incident' and the tomboy often grumbled about it.

She took a chessboard, then sat down and glanced at the board. Aha, nice detailed instructions! That wuz defo good, she thought with a nod as she set her peep in one corner of the chess board and raised her wand.

"Duro!"

Now stone, the peep stood still. Shumeeta pointed her wand at it, announced "Piertotum locomotor" and once she was sure it was animated, said, "Could you move across the board, little peepy? To the very opposite corner?" The peep slid there, and she beamed.

"Come back to your original position, then move three spaces to the left and four forward, please. That okay with you, ain't it, peepy?" It apparently was, because the peep obeyed. Shumeeta beamed at it once more, then announced, "Back to your original position and then you're off to a space very next to that. Off you go, Peepy!"

As her peep obeyed she thought of the last time she had used this spell. Fyo had been with her then. She could see him now, at the front of the classroom. She was of course, at the back. With a smile at the memories Shumeeta turned her attention back to the peep. "Near the middle please," she announced and the peep moved to obey.

Now that that wuz done ......

"Flexi!" She sort of jabbed the peep and watched it as it turned ..... soft and squishy. Yellowish. "Back to your own state," she beamed, as she held up the chessboard, examined it a bit and then moved on to the next step - which she meant she broke the chessboard. Cracked it right through with a nice, correctly performed "Deprimo!"

Once she was finished, she placed the chessboard and peep on her desk, stood up and left the room.

Wesley entered the Transfiguration Classroom feeling nervous. Finals were scary; she never knew what to expect. And it wasn’t just the actual test-taking-process, somehow, having the teacher watch her every move was also extremely frightening and intimidating, even if he did it every day in class. End-of-Year tests where always different because this time she couldn’t make mistakes, she had to do everything right.

And Wesley wasn’t so sure she would be able to. It wasn’t as if she hadn’t practiced; she had. Just this morning she had been practicing animating her orange juice. It had walked off the table and spilled into her lap; her skirt was still slightly wet and her legs sticky from where the juice had soaked through. She had a feeling this final wasn’t going to go very well.

Eyeing the board in anxious anticipation, she took in the directions with a gulp and a determined frown. Right. I can do this. I just need to FOCUS. It’ll be okay. It’ll be okay.

Hands now sweaty, Wesley carefully picked up a chessboard, peep, and piece of parchment, then moved back to her seat and began to read. After reading the paper very carefully, she took a deep breath, and meticulously centered her checkerboard in front of her, placing the squishy peep gently onto the lower, right hand corner square. "Hullo Mr. Peep. My name's Wesley. Nice to meet you," she whispered cordially, patting the little thing on the head.

"'Kay. I'm gonna turn you into stone now. I promise I'll turn you back to normal soon. It'll be okay." Drawing out her wand, the Hufflepuff pointed it at the peep and closed her eyes, picturing it in her head. She could see the peep, soft and squishy, and covered in tiny beads of sugar. Opening her eyes, matching the image in her head with the real life marshmallow, Wesley made a jabbing motion while whispering, “Duro.”

The peep turned into grey stone.

She whispered sorry to the poor thing (for being turned into a rock can never be very pleasant), then looked back at the directions. Now she had to *gulp* move it. Keeping her wand steady, Wesley kept it pointed at the peep and tried to remember the motions. She could remember the spell, just not which way she was supposed to direct the half circle. To the left, or to the right? Biting her lip, she scrunched up her nose, thinking. She had done it this morning. She knew it only, she just couldn’t quite remember it.

It had to be…to the left. Nodding to herself, she made a half-circle motion with her wand and then flicked it at the stone peep. “Piertotum Locomotor.” Please move diagonally and stop at the square farthest from the one you’re on right now. She stared at the stone marshmallow expectantly, but it did’nt budge. Please? Please, pretty please move for me? Diagonally, please. The peep still did not move. “Please. Please move,” Wesley whispered pleadingly, her stomach twisting. “Listen, I’m sorry. I’m sorry I turned you to stone. I promise I’ll put you back. Just move, please. The sooner you move, the sooner you’ll be squishy again. Please move diagonally Mr. Peep!” Mr. Peep wasn’t listening. Wesley felt herself begin to tear up, and set her head on the desk, letting out a small sob. She had practiced so hard! Why isn’t he moving? What’ve I done wrong? I did the motion, I spun it in a half-circle to the le-, “OH!” she exclaimed suddenly, lifting her head up and staring at the peep, eyes alight once more. Wesley directed her wand toward the peep, moving it in a clockwise (to the RIGHT) half circle and gave a small flick. “Piertotum Locomotor.” Okay Mr. Peep. Please move diagonally and stop at the square farthest from the one you’re on right now. Suddenly, just like magic because it was magic, the peep moved across the board, ending exactly diagonally opposite from where he was. “Thank you Mr. Peep!” Wesley whispered happily, giving the stone a pat on the head. Okay. Now go back home to your starting position, please. The peep wobbled back like a penguin, then waited patiently for more directions. She smiled at it fondly. Please move three to the left and four spaces forward. The peep began hobbling to the right, off the chessboard and threatening to fall off the desk. It was only in that moment that she realized the importance of the peep’s current being. Mr. Peep was stone, so if he fell, he’d break. He’d die. Wesley didn’t want Mr. Peep to die! “No Mr. Peep! No! Stop! Stop!” Wesley whispered loudly, moving her left hand to catch it if it fell. Her extra precaution wasn’t necessary however; the stone sweet stood motionless once more. Frowning, the 12-year-old tried to figure out what had forced him to move right. She had said left hadn’t she? Why would he do that? Mr. Peep had followed all of her directions so far; he would never disobey them. He’d only do what he thought was righ- ”Oh!” she exclaimed once more, realizing her lack of specific-ness, then glanced around the room nervously, hoping nobody had heard her. ‘Kay. Mr Peep- please move back to your starting point. The peep moved away from the dangerous edge. Now, please move three spaces to MY left, and then four spaces in front of me. Then stop, please. This time, the peep waddled as he was supposed to, making a backwards L. Wesley silently clapped her hands. Almost done. Please move back down, in the direction of me, 3 squares and right, my right, 2 squares, so you are next to the square you started on, and stop, the tiny child thought carefully and watched as he followed her directions. Last step! Now, please move to the middle of the checkerboard and stop. Mr. Peep did as he was told.

“Good job Mr. Peep!” She gave him another pat on the head, adding, “Okay. I’m going to turn you back to normal now, okay?” Wesley made a jabbing motion in Mr. Peep’s direction, “Flexi.” She smiled as he turned back to his normal soft self. “All better.”

Carefully setting him to the side, but not close enough to the edge so he would fall, she turned back to the board, and glanced at the directions once more.

Right. Karate Chop. That was the word Mr. Svenssen had used. Wesley wasn’t sure what Karate meant; she had been going to ask Sarah, but she’d forgotten. It sounded like carrot. Maybe muggles all got together for carrot chopping contests. She’d have to ask Sarah after class.

"Deprimo."She swung to hard, and her wand smacked loudly against the board. Opening her eyes quickly, she was more interested in her wand, which was still in one piece, than the board now split in half.

After thoroughly expecting every inch of her most prized possession, and positive now harm had occurred, the Hufflepuff stared at her paper once more, mentally checking off the list, and then sat back in her chair. “Well Mr. Peep. Looks like we’re done. Thanks,” she whispered, giving him one last pat before placing her wand back in its holster, picking up her schoolbag, and silently walking out of the classroom.

She was going to miss her peep. Hopefully nobody’d eat him.

With each and every final that LouAnn went into, summer break grew that much closer to it's arrival. That thought alone was the cause of her good mood as she left the corridor and headed into the Transfiguration classroom. Lucky for her, she ended up spotting the directions on the chalkboard before she spotter Professor Svensson. Had she not, she may have called out a greeting from across the room. She settled for a quick, sharp nod before taking a seat and reading the rest of the directions.

Oh, wait...she needed to go and get her materials, didn't she? LouAnn slid right back out of her desk and retrieved a chess board, a peep, and a set of instructions before returning to her seat. Not wanting to waste any time, she started in on her exam right away. When the peep was placed in the bottom, lefthand corner of her chess board, LouAnn raised her wand and directed it towards the little marshmallowy treat. "Duro!" she called out, making a jabbing motion just as she'd been taught. Thankfully, the peep turned to stone immediately. LouAnn had been afraid she'd have trouble with that one, since she didn't do so well with it in class.

Hmm, what next? Oh, yes! Moving the little stone piece around the board. “Piertotum locomotor!” she said, directing her wand in a clockwise half-circle motion then a flick towards the peep. "Top, right corner," she said, directing the peep to the first place it needed to go to. Immediately, the little stone figurine slid its way across the chess board, coming to a stop in the top, right corner. The peep was facing her, though, so she would have to direct it in an order that wouldn't send it right off the board. "Oh, cool! Thanks, peep! Mmkay, now, you can't do three spaces to the left from where you are, can you? Let's try...three spaces down and three spaces to the right. That'll put you near about in the center," she instructed. Before she was even finished with her last sentence, the peep had already started moving again. Before long, it was as close to the center as it could get.

"Awesome...too awesome!" she told it. Now to get the peep to one of the spaces next to where it began. "Now, four down and three to the right," she instructed. The peep was still facing her, so when the directions wanted the peep to move to the left, LouAnn had to tell it to move to the right so it would go in her left direction. Like a good little stone peep, the peep obeyed and ended up just where LouAnn needed it to go. This was when LouAnn ran into a problem. Because the peep was facing her, she would have to send it off the board for the next step. That wouldn't work! "Turn around, please," she requested, smiling as the peep immediately did so. "Mmkay, now...ummm...no, no, nevermind! Turn back around!" The poor little peep, without a fuss of course, immediately turned around. "Sorry about that! Now, three spaces to your left then...okay you'll have to turn around, because...now I need you to move four spaces forward." As soon as the little peep moved where she'd instructed it to go, LouAnn was finished sending it around and around the board.

Ohhh, man. This was getting sort of difficult. LouAnn was, at least, finished with that step now. All that was left was to turn the little stone peep back to its marshmallowy state. With a little jabbing motion and a "Flexi!", LouAnn's peep was back to normal. She picked it up and moved it off to the side so she could break her chess board. LouAnn raised her wand, karate chopped it, then called out, "Deprimo!" A loud crack sounded throughout the room then the chess board snapped right in two.

Done. Done, done, done! Another final exam bites the dust!

Transfiguration...one of Jack's favorite classes. This would be a piece of cake...he had been up studying with his chess piece ALL NIGHT. Yes. All night. He was taking this one uber seriously, mainly because he hoped that once they were finished, they'd have permission to eat their peeps. Hehe.

He walked up to the front and took the chees board and one of the peeps and brought it back to his desk. He read over the instructions a couple of times before picking up his wand and pointing it at the squishly pink bunny marshmallow. "Duro!" he muttered quietly, watching as the peep turned to stone just a few seconds later. That must be rather uncomfortable, he thought as he stared at the little stone creature. He would NOT want to be stone. Not at all.

He waved his wand again and muttered "Piertotum locomotor" watching as the peep started to move and stood up, examining itself like it couldn't believe that it had become stone. Poor little dude. Clearing his throat, Jack shook his head to get rid of all the excess thoughts in his mind and focused on where his peep needed to go. The opposie corner from where the peep started...well, that would be easy, seeing as how he had started him on the corner facing him, all the way to the right, where the rook would be if this were a REAL game. He commanded the peep to start walking, and it stood up, looked up at him once, and then turned and began to walk along the board, all the way across to the board to the opposte corner. WOOOOT! Good little peep!

"Good job little buddy!" he whispered, tapping him between his little stone ears as the bunny made a little squirmy motion. Jack assumed that that meant he liked being rewarded with a tap on the head. Hehe. Alright, where was he off to next? Three spaces left and four forward from where he had began...how specific! Jack tapped his finger on the board, counting his head as the little peep started walking in circles over on its current square. THERE. Jack figured out exactly what square he needed to go to and tapped his finger on it a couple of times, so he wouldn't lose it. He looked over at the peep and mentally commanded him to walk over to the square, but all the marshmallow stone-peep did was look at him in confusion. Come on, go to this one, go to this one! he mentally commanded the peep, and finally after a lot of convincing, the peep stood up and walked to the appropriate square. GEEEEZ. About time!

The next one was easy...he commanded his peep to move to one of the spaces next to the square he had started on. The peep did this easily, most likely because it was a fairly simple command and it was easy for his marshmallow-stone brain to register. As the peep stood on the square where the knight would be, looking up at him and waiting for the next instruction, Jack checked the parchment again. To the middle of the board...not a problem at all!

Ok buddy, head to the middle of the board and you're done! he thought, and the peep promptly stood up and marched to the center of the board in a full on army march. Well, erm....to each peep its own, right? Once it reached the middle, it sat down and started to rock back and forth, obviously quite pleased with itself that it had accomplished this task so quickly.

"Good job!"
Jack said, tapping the peep on the top of the head once more. And now for it's reward...going back to a big, poofy, pink marshmallow bunny form once more. "Flexi!" he exclaimed, pointing his wand at the stone bunny and watching in delight as it turned back into a nice squishy peep. YAYYYY!

Moving the peep out of harms way, he pointed at the board and muttered "Deprimo!" watching in delight as the chessboard broke in half. What on EARTH was the professor going to do with all these broken chess boards? He sighed and set the broken chessboard down on his desk, and left the peep there as well as he gathered his things.

Ahh well. It was probably best that he did not eat the peep...after all that time together he would have felt REALLY guilty eating the little bunny after all of that.

Marie walked into the Transfiguration class and took a seat near the front of the room. Looking at the chalk board she quickly read the instructions before getting up to get the required materials needed.
'Well this looks like it will be a pretty easy assignment' she thought as she went to Professor Svensson's desk to get a chess board, a peep, and a parchment with the assignment instructions on it. 'What is it with this professor and peeps?' she asked herself as she walked back to her desk.

Sitting down she looked over the instructions a couple of times before getting started. 'Let's see, turn the peep to stone. Well that one is easy enough' she thought as she remembered the first time she had done this in class. After placing the peep on the lower right corner of the board Marie took out her wand, jabbed it towards the peep and said in a sort of loud voice, "Duro". The peep turned to stone, then just sat there doing nothing.
'Let's see, now I have to make this little fella move for me.' Once again pointing her wand at the peep she says "Piertotum Locomotor" while moving her wand in a clock-wise half circle then giving it a flick towards the peep.
"Okay little guy, now I need you to do a few things for me, then I will turn you back to your soft, squishy, marshmallow form." Looking over the instructions once more Marie tells the peep "move one space to your left." The peep quickly hopped to his left. "Now I need you to move to the top left corner of the board." The peep started to move toward the top of the board but it didn't go to the left, it went to the right. "No, not that way, go the other way!" Marie shouted at the peep. The peep stopped and didn't move at all when he heard the shouting. 'Oh Merlin, I would have to have the peep that is stubborn.' "Sorry there, would you please go the other way, to your left, not your right." Now the peep started to move towards te top left corner. Once it got there Marie looked at the instructions once more. "Okay, only one more task for you then I will turn you back. Please move to the center of the board." This time the peep took off towards the bottom left of the board. "Stop, where the heck are you going? That's not the center, that's the bottom." Looking at the peep Marie thinks that maybe it isn't stubborn, maybe it just doesn't know its directions. "Listen, I need you to move to the middle of the board, not the bottom. Go back up, then move sideways." The peep started moving back up the board. "Stop, now move to your right." This time the peep moved to the left. "Not that way, you will fall off the board, move the other way." The peep turns around and finally moves towards the center of the board. "Okay, stop now, you are there." Marie looked over the instructions once more just to make sure there were no other steps the peep needed to take. 'One more step, then I can change him back.' "Sorry little guy, there is one more task I need you to do before I can change you back. Please move three spaces to your left and four spaces to your right." Marie watched as the peep moved, this time in the right directions. "Yeah, you did it and you went the right way the first time." 'Thank Merlin that is done' she thought she gave the peep a pat on its little head.
"Okay little guy, I am going to turn you back to a fluffy marshmallow. Thanks for helping me out here, even if you didn't know your left from your right."
"Flexi" Marie said while pointing her wand at the peep with a jabbing motion. Instantly the peep turned to a bright green marshmallow bunny. Picking up the peep she moved it as far away from the chess board as she could. She takes one last glance at the instructions just to make sure she is finished with the assignment before blowing up the board. Satisfied that she had completed all the tasks on the assignment Marie waved her wand at the chess board in a chopping motion and yelled "DEPRIMO!" This casued the board to break into several tiny pieces. 'Oops, maybe I shouldn't have yelled' she thought as she picked up all the pieces and put them back on the desk.
'Yeah, another final out of the way. Three down, a lot to go' she thought as she cleaned her mess up, gathered all her things and left the room.

Default Transfiguration Final

Walking into the transfigurations classroom Kay looked around. She put her bag down next to a desk. Looking at the front of the room. Kay read the directions for the final. Kay walked up to the front of the room and at the Professor’s desk she pick up her chessboard, parchment with the directions, and the little marshmallow peep. Walking back to her desk, Kay put the chessboard down on the desk and placed the little marshmallow peep in the lift top corner. Kay started to read the directions before starting the assignment. ‘Boy with sounds almost to easy, but I wonder.’ Kay thought.
The first thing was to turn the little peep into stone. Kay pulled her wand and pointed it at the poor little peep. She looked a bit sad. ‘Hope I don’t blow you up little peep.’ She thought. “DURO.” Kay said as she moved her moved her wand in the right movement. The little peep stood frozen in stone. “Good your still in one piece.” Kay said looking closely at the peep.
Reading the next step Kay thought hard on where she wanted it to go. The opposite corner. She pointed her wand and did the spell. “Piertutom Locomotor.” The little peep started to move across to the opposite corner. Kay was thinking hard as it moved. The peep landed on the right stop and was it touched the chessboard it fell over. “No.” Kay said. Using the spell one more time, “piertutom locomotor.” she righted the little peep.
The next step was to move the peep three spaces to the left and four space forward. Kay counted the spaces and pointed her wand. “Piertotum Locomotor.” The peep went up into the air about 2 inches. She moved the peep three spaces to the lift and then four forward. This time the peep stayed up right.
Kay was happy about that as she read the next step. Move the peep one space from where you began. Ok, that would be easy. “Piertotum Locomotor.” Again the peep moved nicely. It sat down at the space just right of where she had started. “OK, The last step before I can let you go little peep.” Kay smiled at it.
Move it to the center as close as you can. ‘Ok which space?’ Kay thought. “Piertotum Locomotor.” Watching the peep move to the last space. She hope that she had done it all well. Smiling as the peep landed, she looked at the lasted of the instructions. She had to transfigure the peep back and break the chessboard. “FLEXI.” Kay turned the little peep back to it’s marshmallowy goodness and sat it aside like the instructions said. Kay looked at the chessboard. Kay waved her wand and spelled the chessboard. “DEPRIMO!” The chessboard broke in half and Kay smiled. She picked up her bag and quickly left the classroom.

Transfiguration... WHEEEE. Probably one of Livvy's most favorite classes. And there were hardly any essays, which she greatly appreciated. She preferred to have as less of essays as she could. There were enough essays in Potions, History of Magic, and Arithmancy. So Livvy's heart practically sang as she took a seat and dropped her book bag gently to the floor.

There really was no point in bringing her book bag with her, but still... she did so anyway. Livvy then moved over towards Professor Svensson's desk. She gathered the necessary materials, including the chess board and the peep and everything that the professor had listed for them to retrieve. Then Livvy made her way back over towards her desk and set the materials down on the desk quietly.

Alright. Time to get rooooolllin'.

Livvy took hold of the peep and moved all the other materials away and off of the chessboard. She glanced down at the instructions and set her peep on the top right corner of the board. The girl then pulled out her wand and pointed it at the peep. "Duro!" she exclaimed, quietly. With that, the peep then turned into stone. Whoopeee! Now she just had to make the peep come to life and move it around the board. Was it really necessary to say the location they wanted the peep to move to? Livvy couldn't help but hear the people talking to their own peeps and saying whaddawhadda 5E. How about tapping? MEH? Yes. That would do. And if it didn't... too bad.

She then reached over to pick up the peep and squished it. Oohwee... so squisheh. Livvy enjoyed squishy objects immensely. This just added on to the amusement. "I'll call you Squishy," she said, quietly to the peep. AHHHH!! Finding Nemo flashback! Muggle movies and their humor. Good times. Talking sea creatures.

Setting the peep back down on the top-right corner, Livvy held onto her wand tightly and pointed her wand at the peep. "Piertotum Locomotor!" she said, firmly and lazily moved her wand in clockwise semi-circle manner and then flicked it at the peep. Her Squishy immediately came to life. This assessment reminded her drastically of their assignment they had to do a while back and the one she had to perform with Jack. Ah. That was good. But there was no time to waste in reminiscing. There were points that needed to be earned. And they would surely not be earned if she just sat there daydreaming.

After a quick glance back at the parchment for the next directions, Livvy ordered Squishy to move to the square that was opposite him from the way he was facing, all the way over to the bottom-right corner. WHOOPEE! She watched him, or was it her?, as he made his way down the board and landed on the corner of the bottom-right.

NEXT?

Three spaces left and four spaces forward... mhm... after Livvy counted and figured out where the location was, Livvy told her peep to go to that square. Squishy immediately made his way back to where he originally started and moved to his left three spaces, and then down four. WHOOOO. Go SQUISHEH! What was next?

Ah-ha! Livvy then ordered her Squishy to return to the location he had started in the beginning of the assessment and move one space down. The peep did exactly what had been commanded of him and Livvy beamed with joy. This was EASY. If all the Ravenclaws did the Finals a this rate, Ravenclaw would be FLOURISHING with points.

No matter. It wouldn’t do any good if she just wished it to happen. Livvy moved on and commanded Squishy to go back to the location he had been where he moved left three squares and moved down four squares, for that was one of the locations that was closest to the center of the chessboard. Of course she could’ve commanded Squishy to move to the other four locations, but well… she didn’t feel like it. So. Oh. Well.

At the command, Squishy immediately moved to the location and stood near the center. DONE! WHOO! Go Squishy! Livvy then glanced at the parchment and her face fell. She had to say goodbye to her Squishy. Ohboy would she miss him. With an apologetic look, Livvy lifted up her wand and pointed it at the peep. She jabbed her wand at him as she spoke, “Flexi!” The peep immediately returned to its marshmallowy state.

“Sorry Squishy. Had to. Professor’s orders,”
she said, simply and then turned to the next work in order. Livvy picked up the peep and set it off the chessboard and FAR away from it. Then she pointed her wand to the chessboard. “Deprimo!” she spoke firmly, and watched in half excitement as the chessboard broke in half with a loud CRACK.

Hooray for another Final exam completed!

Ah, time for another final. At least, this final didn't involve an essay. She did so enjoy theory, but actually getting to practice what she learned was even better. Transfiguration was quickly starting to move up the list of her favorite lesson.

Quietly, she walked into the classroom and noticed the chalkboard. A small smile formed on her face as she read the directions. This was going to be fun. Taking a board from desk along with a peep and parchment, she made her way to a seat. Setting the board on the desk, she reread the instructions over. Looking at the little peep in her hand, she smiled. "I'll call you Nathanial," she whispered softly to her peep. Setting the parchment beside the board, she looked for a starting corner for Nathanial. Setting him down in the lower right hand corner, she pulled her wand out. "Sorry little buddy, I promise to turn you back later." she smiled before jabbing her wand at his center. "Duro!" She nodded as she watched the foamy marshmallow slowly harden and turn to stone. That was so cool, not matter how many times she saw it.

Glancing from the parchment to the board, she thought about her mode of attack. Smiling to herself, she pointed her wand back at Nathanial and moved it in the clockwise half-circle. "Piertotum Locomotor," she said with a flick of her wand. Keeping in mind where she wanted him to go, she motioned toward the spot. "Nathanial, I need you to move to that spot in the corner, upper left hand side please." she asked politely. He hopped about a bit before he started to moving toward the opposite corner. Upon stopping on the opposite corner spot, he turned around to face her again. Giving him a smile, she flicked her wand again with another spot in mind. "Time to move again, now back over here, if you please." He hopped back to action and moved back toward her, seven spaces back and six spaces to the right. Finally, stopping in the spot to the direct left of his starting location, he hopped once in happiness. Silly little peep, her Nathaniel was. Covering her mouth to hide a small laugh, she raised her wand and flicked it again. "Time to move again, four spaces forward and two to the left, please." He bobbled a little in understanding before he started toward his assigned location. Stopping in his rightful space, he turned to face her again. Giving him another smile, she raised her wand again and flicked it in a circle. "Time for some laps." Again he bobbled a bit before moving. First one space to the left, then one space back, next one space right and finishing with one space forward, landing him back in a familiar space. Giggling under her hand, she flicked her wand again toward him. He hopped to the direct middle of the board. "Such a good little peep, you are my Nathaniel." Who knew peeps were so much fun. But as much fun it was, she did promise him, she would turn him back. "Finite Incantatem." He stopped moving and plopped down in the center of the board. She never did feel right controlling him, but it was fun. But she did have a promise to keep. Jabbing her wand again at Nathanial's middle, she casted the spell. "Flexi." Before her eyes, she watched him turn from stone back to a foamy marshmallow. Such a fun spell, she did have to remember it.

Looking back to the parchment, she moved Nathanial to the side. She didn't want to harm him. She did always have a bit of a destructive nature. Breaking things was fun after all. She cleared the area around her board a little and moved to pick up her wand again. Now to the fun! "Desprimo! she said in a firm and clear voice, as she made a chopping movement with her wand. Watching as the board made a loud CRACK as it split down the middle, she smiled. One more final down and one more step closer to the summer. She cleaned up as much as she could before leaving Nathanial and the pieces of her board on the desk. Waving to her little friend, she skipped out of the room.

Wowza!

After going through the long and energy-draining process that studying AND actually doing her NEWTs examinations was, it was safe to say that by the time Willow Kovac arrived the Transfiguration classroom for the final exam her expression ranged from one hundred percent apathetic to tired and crossed.

That, however, by no means meant that she'd come unprepared for this exam. If the NEWTs had taught the seventh year anything (other than the Ministry of Magic clearly hated them for forcing them to go through such horrid exams) was that normal finals she'd grown used to face through her entire Hogwarts education, were in fact, quite simple.

And Transfiguration being one of the subjects she excelled in, was definitely not the exception.

Glaring at a few people because she could, Willow went to retrieve the necessary materials and claimed a lonely corner of the room where she would not be bothered by anyone, or at least, no one would bother her if they held any desire to make it to the end of term feast. It was as simple as that. And as simple as that, Willow's long and slender fingers tied her mane of dark and sleek hair in a high ponytail, lazily read the instructions without much enthusiasm and after heaving a small sigh that came out from her slightly parted lips, she got to work.

Looking sternly and with disdain at the peep, Willow whispered to it, "Do as told or suffer the consequences." Talking to inanimate objects; always a sign of being perfectly sane, was it not?

"Duro," Exclaimed the girl under her breath with her wand pointed directly at the peep, and successfully turning it into stone. Step one, done. Not dwelling too much over the fact that becoming a stone was probably incredibly uncomfortable thing, Willow proceed with her exam, wand still pointing at the thing who's name she was not familiar with. And she was not planning to give it one in any case. "Piertotum Locomotor!" With annoyance dripping in her tone, the young Ravenclaw quirked one her dark and perfectly plucked eyebrows as the peep seemed to come to life and stare at her.

Momentarily curling her upper lip and wondering why on earth was the thing quivering, Willow began shooting orders at the peep, "Walk toward the square that is opposite from where you are facing." After a moment of hesitation in which Willow huffed in clear annoyance, the peep quickly did as told and sat down.

What, stones got tired now? "Do not sit down, we are not done." The peep immediately stood up. "Now, take, uuuh," Willow swiftly checked the instructions before looking back at the peep, "Three steps towards the left and for from where you began, which would be ... " She counted and figuring out in which squares the peep had to land, Willow touched them lightly with her wand, commanding the thing to move and did as told.

It was either that or ... well, it just had to listen to her. It'd better. Which, to Willow's pleasure, did.

She took a deep breath. "Move to one of the two spaces next to the one where you started." Thankfully, the peep did as told, but instead of just staying in the one it had chosen, the marshmallow turned stone seemed to want to go and stand in the other square, too. Ridiculous. "Stay were you are, I told you to move to one of them not both," Snapped the brunette. Hmph. The thing was not smart, then again, its brain was made of stone so what could one expect?

"Alright, we are almost done," THANK YOU, MERLIN, "Now, head over to the middle of the board and stay there. No moving anywhere else, no nothing. Just the middle, is that clear? Okay, go." Slowly, but surely, the peep made its way to the middle of the board. During the way it stopped to ... quiver a little bit again, but in the end, reached its goal and hesitantly, almost as if expecting Willow snap at him again, it took sit.

Rolling her eyes at the laziness of the object, and without even saying 'thank you', Willow pointed her wand directly at it again and said sternly, "Flexi." Before her eyes (except Willow had turned her attention to the instructions, so maybe not) the peep turned back to its oridginal soft and squishable marshmallow state.

Grabbing the peep carelessly with her free-wand hand, Willow raised her eyebrows at the chess board. "Deprimo!" And the chess board was no more. Or rather, it was not a proper chess board anymore, for it was now broken right in the middle.

Placing the peep on top of the broken chess board, which was on top of her desk, Willow gave her work a shrug, swung her messenger bag on her petite shoulders and left the room quietly.

Tibi was actually feeling pretty confident as he entered the room. He knew he could do each of these spells, and he knew that would make all the difference. Taking a parchment, peep and chess board from the front, Tiberius returned to his seat.

He let his eyes sweep across the page, reading and rereading the instructions. Gently placing the peep on the chessboard's bottom right corner, he unholstered his wand.

With a jabbing motion, as they'd learned in class, Tibi firmly uttered the incantation. “Duro.” Where there once sat a squishy, blueish marshmallow peep, there was now what appeared to be a hard peep-shaped blue stone. Success! Tibi gave it a poke with his finger. Solid.

Smiling, Tibi read over the parchment. With a deep breath, Tibi gripped his wand, struggling to remember the wand movement for the spell that would animate his stone peep. Eyebrows pinched together, Tibi drew his wand through the air with a clock-wise half circle motion, followed by a flick toward the peep. “Piertotum Locomotor,” he said in a stern whisper, so as not to disturb or distract the others.

It wasn't immediately clear to him whether it had worked, so he put his head down so that he was eyelevel with the peep. “Move one space to the left,” Tibi ordered, clearly meaning business, tapping the space with his finger just in case. The peep wobbled – no feet – and managed to shimmy itself one space to the left without much trouble.

Smiling broadly now, Tibi kept his face near the peep. “Alright, now two more spaces to the left.” Again he tapped the space to give the peep a target. The peep continued its footless shimmy-hop so that it was now three spaces to the left of where it had begun. The instructions had say three spaces left and four forward, so Tibi tapped again. “Four more forward.” Shifting from the side-to-side shimmy to a front to back rock and swing, the peep followed the young boy's instructions.

Two tasks down. Seeing as they were very near the center, Tibi opted for that task next. “Close to the center. It's not a space. It's where they all come together.” Tibi tapped again for clarity, just a small diagonal slide back and to the left from where they already were. Combining the side-to-side shimmy and the front-to-back rock, the peep shifted just slightly, coming to rest at the intersection of the spaces, dead in the center.

Tibi smiled again. What an obedient little marshmallow stone! Finally sitting up straight, Tibi tapped on the corner opposite where they had started. “Last one. Come to top left corner.” With an obedient shuffle-hop, the peep made it's way with a mix of shimmies, rocks and shakes, finally settling at the corner.

“Thank you,” Tibi whispered. Raising his wand again, he jabbed in the direction of the peep. “Flexi.” He poked it again, the blue marshmallow once again squishy and sticky instead of cold and hard.

Taking a deep breath, Tiberius picked up the peep and moved it to the side of the chessboard. Checking the instructions again to make sure he was right, Tibi scrunched up his face. Seemed strange to break a perfectly good chessboard.

Shrugging, he pointed his wand at the center top of the board. “Deprimo.” With a loud 'crack' the board broke perhaps a third of the way down the middle. Pointing his wand at the center bottom, now, he repeated the spell. “Deprimo.” Another CRACK and another break in the board. Now all that was left was the last bit in the center, still holding the board together. “Deprimo!” Tibi said it a little gleefully, watching as the board finally split in two.

Smiling, Tibi reholstered his wand, checked the instructions one final time, and then made his way out of the classroom, smiling like a fool.

Then, return your peep to its original marshmallowy form and set it out of the way on your desk. Break your chess board. When you are finished, leave quietly, leaving your peep and the chess board on your desk.
Walking quickly and quietly into the room Reid skimmed over the instructions before grabbing the three required items and heading to a seat as far away from anyone else as he could. He didn't want to be able to take the easy way out and look at other people if he forgot things. He also didn't want anyone to cheat off of him.

Eyeing everyone suspiciously he carefully placed the chessboard in the centre of his desk with the instructions in the top right corner and the peep on the bottom left. Making sure that everything was perfect alligned he then removed his wand from his wrist holster, looking at the instructions as he did so.

Ok so he had to turn the peep into a chess piece. That shouldn't be too hard. Hopefully... "Duro," Reid whispered, all the while praying to whatever deity to take sympathy on him and make the spell work. At the last minute he remembered to concentrate on the peep and to jab his wand, sighing in relief as after a slight pause the peep turned into a black chess piece.

Considering the colour of the piece he hesitantly placed it on the opposite end of the chessboard in the right corner. He was somewhat talented at chess and he wished that he could actually play it right now and not just direct the peep where to stand. Glancing up at the instructions once more Reid almost whooped in joy when he saw that the spell they needed to move the peep was already provided by the ever thoughtful teacher.

"Piertotum Locomotor," Reid enunciated while moving his wand from 12 to 6 in a clockwise motion before flicking his wand at the now stone peep. Quivering slightly the thing stood up. "Walk to the corner of the board directly across from you," Reid ordered lazily, sure the peep would do as told. He was glad when with much quivering and wobbling it made it to the corner of the board closest to himself.

"Good peep." he praised. "Now can you please move three spaces away from your original spot before taking four steps to the left?" he requested guiding the peep in the direction he wanted it to take with his wand tip. It was slightly slow, the peep seemingly confused about exactly where he needed it to go but in the end with a tiny bit of guidance it got there. Promptly falling over when it did.

Gently scooping the stone peep up Reid placed it back on it's feet, getting ready for the second to last step for the peep. "Walk to the square next to your original one," he ordered softly, tapping the square for good measure. This time there were no mishaps with the peep due to the fact that it only had to walk six spaces.

And now for the last instruction. "I want you to move directly into the middle of this chess board, please." Reid watched intently as the peep did as requested, nearly missing the mark before moving the one space extra that would take it into the direct centre of the board. The peeps work was now done and all Reid needed to do was turn it back into it's original state before chopping the chess board in half. This exam wasn't as difficult as he was expecting.

"Flexi," Reid said in a somewhat bored manner while using the correct wand movement. The peep turned from black stone into a black marshmellow substance again. "Thanks," Reid whispered to the peep while placing it to the right of his desk, on top of the instructions so as not to damage it with the chess board he had to break. It seemed like a perfect waste to him but he wasn't the one who was writing this exam so... "Deprimo," he said pointing the wand at the middle row of spaces on the chess board. There was an audible cracking sound and it seemed as though the board had broken in half. Picking it up to make sure Reid was impressed to note it had been a clean break.

Picking up his things he took a last look at his handiwork, and the peep before turning his back on the desk, knowing that he would never return to this room again.

Celandine was quiet when she entered the room and she remained so after reading the instructions on the board, though she did offer a tiny wave to Professor Svensson.

She approached his desk and took a chessboard, then placed the instructions and a peep on top and found herself an empty seat. She read everything in the instructions thoroughly, not wanting to mess up just because she skimmed over something, then she carefully placed the chessboard flat on the desk in front of her with the peep in the top left hand corner.

She drew her wand and, after checking the instructions again, Celandine jabbed her wand at the peep. "Duro!" She said the incantation quietly but confidently and the peep hardened like a rock. She checked the instructions again then cast, "Piertotum Locomotor!" Her wand moved in a half circle, clockwise and she flicked at it, still very confident. She told it silently and firmly, her wand still at the ready, to move to the opposite corner. It did so instantly, sliding from one side of the chessboard to the other.

Three to the left and four forward? Celandine blinked and had to figure out which way her peep had been facing to start with since she'd placed it in the left hand corner... oooh but it had been facing inward! Her wand moved gently like she was conducting and she concentrated on the stone peep. It moved. Hophophop. Sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide. Until it had reached the correct spot. It was kind of nice not having to tell it out loud where to go, but that was because she'd done a lot of practicing.

She directed it again, this time to the space directly below the one it had started at and then finally Cela concentrated with all her might and the stone peep obligingly slid to the centre of the board. Back to marshmallow? Cela jabbed her wand again. "Flexi!" The stone went away and the peep was soft once more.

Last part! Celandine carefully put the peep to one side and bit her lip. She was hungry for marshmallows! Too bad she couldn't eat it! No matter. Chess board time. She balanced the chess board between her desk and her chair, aimed and brought her wand down in a clean chopping motion. "Deprimo!" It broke cleanly and surprisingly without much noise and Cel picked up the two pieces and placed them beside the marshmallow peep on her desk.

All done, she waved at Professor Svensson, reholstered her wand and quietly left the classroom.

Herminny entered the Transfiguration classroom and upon reading the instructions on the board she smiled and grabbed a chess and a peep board and a peep thinking this final will be fun. She started setting a peep in one corner of her chessboard par first line of instructions. She then read through the seccond line and took out her wand and said, "duro", jabbeing her wand at the peep and concentrating hard on turning her peep to stone and it happened right before her very eyes. She smiled and thought now for the fun part. She took out her wand and said, "Piertotum Locomotor", while doing a half circle wand movement clockwise with her wrist and concentrating on making her stone peep come to life and smiled as she saw it jump up and chuckled a little as she looked at the next line instructions and then turned back to her peep and asked, "Could you walk to the opposite corner of this chess board", Herminny asked pointing at the opposite end of the chess board and the peep followed her instuctions and she watched on happily. She then looked at the 3rd line of instructions and asked the peep,"Could you go back to where you started Herminny", Herminny asked pointing back to where she had originally put her peep and watched as it walked back to the original spot. Upon the peeps arrival back at the beginning Herminny asked, "Now, could you move 3 spaces this way", Herminny asked pointing her peep in the right direction which it walked three squares to the left. Herrminny smiled and then asked the peep, "Now could you go 3 paces this way", Herminny asked pointing to the right and the peep did as it was told and it arrived back at the beggining again. Upon it's arrival she then asked the peeps, "Now could you walk straight for 4 squares". The peep did as it was told but that was nothing new at this point so she then asked, "Could you move back 4 squares". The peep did as it was told and she was onto reading step 4 and upon the peeps arrival at the beginning yet again she asked, "Move one space from where you are at", The peep did as it was told and Herminny grinned knowing she is at the homestretch of her exam and asked her peep, "Could you walk to the middle of the chessboard", Herminny asked pointing at the middle of the chessboard and the peep followed her instructions and upon reading instructions she ralized she is done working with the live peep and it is time to turn it back into the marshmellow it was. She took her wand out and said, "flexi", concentrating on turning her stone living peep into a marshmellow and saw it happen. She looked at her instructions on last time and saw that her final instruction is to break the chessboard and she knew just the spell to do it. She took out her wand one final time and said, "deprimo",while doing chopping movement with her hand toward the chessboard concentrating on it breaking in half and sure enough in one go it did. She was done. Herminny put the two pieces chessboard on her desk and put the marshmellow peep right beside it and following the final instruction left happilly knowing she had done her best on her Transfiguration final.

Baht-ley - The Sweetest - TEAM 947!

Right. Melanie was ready for her Transfiguration exam. She was halfway good with her wand in most situations.

Taking a deeeeeep breath to calm herself, Melanie looked up at the big letters as she walked in, reading them carefully. The very first thing she did was mime zipping her lips and eating the key to remind herself now was not a time to talk. Then, solemnly following the next direction she read off the board, Melanie grabbed one of the chess boards, a bright yellow peep, and her instructions before taking a seat in the very front of the room. She laid her peep and board on her desk, still clutching her instructions with hands that were shaking slightly.

Now, it was time to get down to business. Melanie looked down at her directions, with one eye, squinting a little, as if she was a liiiiiitle bit scared what was on there. Melanie hadn't exactly been able to make a few of the Transfiguration lessons this year...though she'd read up on the spells and practiced a little, she just wasn't sure if it was the same thing.
Quote:
Set the peep in one of the corners of the chess board. Turn your peep into stone.
Ahhhhhh, yes. This she knew how to do. She could only hope the other instructions would be similar to this.

Melanie obediently picked up her peep with the tips of two fingers, as if she was afraid she'd contaminate it somehow, and placed it on the corner on her chess board closest to her. Then, the girl tugged her willowy wand from the pocket of her robes, holding it erect in the air. She was still shaking, slightly, so her wand was as well. However, Melanie knew the correct motion and incantation. So, taking another, of those nice deep, calming breaths, and closing her eyes so she didn't have to watch, she whirled her wand around to where she though the stone peep was and said "Duro." loud and clearly...Annnnnd...

Oh Merlin. Not Good. Leave it to her to make a mistake like that. Frowning down at her now stone chess board, Melanie sighed. Well, this was why you shouldn't close your eyes when you do a spell... You just don't do it.

She was pretty sure she knew the counter spell, though. It was on the very tip of her tongue. Started with an F...

Not Filtex...

And it definitely was NOT Fitex...or Fliex

Maybe...

Perhaps...

"Flexi!" she said, perhaps a little louder than she should have, as the word suddenly came to her. Melanie couldn't help but look gleeful she watched her board slowly turn back to it's original woody nature. Nice.

Now she was back where she began. Sigh. Having already practiced on her board, this should be a cinch, right? Raing her wand once more, and pointing it right at the peep's marshmallow-like middle, she made a little jabbing motion, saying "Duro." clearly and articulately once more, in and attempt to turn her Peep to stone.

This time, the he did turn to stone, much to Melanie's satisfaction. She wondered if it would still taste good that way... Her confidence going up a little, she moved on to the next step on her instructions.

Quote:
Move your peep to the following places on the chess board, in any order, using “Piertotum locomotor”:
--the opposite corner from where your peep started
Awesome. She was preeeetty sure knew how to do this too. A somewhat confident, yet still quite concentrated look on her face, Melanie pointed her wand at her little bunny, stone, peep. She moved it in a half-circle doing a little jabbing motion with her wand, and kept her eyes OPEN this time. "Piertotum locomotor" Melanie said firmly. "Now...go to the top-left corner, please." she said it aloud, and in her head, in a manner, that might have been a smidge too polite considering her peep probably couldn't even hear her. Melanie watched him for a few moments biting her lip. After a few more seconds of pure agony in which the peep sat stubbornly immobile, he decided to get a move on. The rabbit, walked casually over to the space on the chess board to the opposite corner from where she had placed him. Happy, Melanie nodded at the peep approvingly. "Good Marshmallow..."

Reading the instructions carefully once more, Melanie placed her finger on the square, moving it along the path a few times, to make sure it was the right spot before telling her peep where to go. "Now, come one over here." she ordered clearly, eyeing him. Apparently this worked, for the stone peep, marched right over to the square and... riiiight over-top of her finger. "OW! Not on my finger, you stupid marshmallow!" she said abruptly, staring down at it angrily for a few seconds before realizing she was ranting at a stone with no brain, or any accountability for it's actions...

Guh. Melanie glanced around self-consciously hoping no one had heard that little outburst. Then she looked down guiltily at her instructions, sinking in her seat just a little. So much for eating the key...

"Okay...okay..." she murmured to herself, trying to concentrate. Melanie used the same method as she had before, placing her finger a the starting point, and moving it one space away. Then, she issued her command to the finger stomp-er. "Walk to this space."

The peep stared at her for a few moments, and for a second Melanie thought he just might be purposely resisting, because he was angry at her for some reason. But then, he strutted across the board, to the right square. Melanie was careful to pull her still sore finger away, right as he was about to stomp on it again. "Great..." she praised, still sorta giving him a wary look. the third year was almost POSITIVE he'd tried to stomp her finger again.

Marshmallows just couldn't be trusted anymore, could they?

This was a bit tricky. Melanie had to count the spaces to be absolutely positive. She managed to find what she was pretty sure was the center of the board though. Then she put her finger on it. "Marshmallow, come on over to this square, where my finger is. Don't be shy." Melanie told it, speaking encouragingly, to get the peep motivated.

The bunny peep inched forward, at a speed that was devastatingly slow. Melanie was just so SURE that he wasn't going to get there. Her Transfiguration mark was going to die. Just as she was about to give up, and tell the peep he'd done his best, he got a little faster. Just a little tinnnny bit. then he went faster and faster. He was hoppin' juuuuuuust so fast.

The peep made it there. He did it. Shhhhe did it. Grinning, she patted him on his stony head, feeeling a little more forgiving about his finger stomping episode. Then she moved on.

Then, return your peep to its original marshmallowy form and set it out of the way on your desk. Break your chess board. When you are finished, leave quietly, leaving your peep and the chess board on your desk.
Oh. She'd already done this spell once during the exam already. Pointing, her wand at the peep, Melanie confidently said, "Flexi.", watching her peep almost instantly go back to it's original form and color. She was almost sad to see him leave...

That was ridiculous though. In any other instance she would have seen the marshmallow bunny sitting there, she would have swallowed it whole.

Shaking her head, as if to shake the odd feeling of sadness away, Melanie moved down on the list, setting the little peep solemnly on the corner of her desk.

Exams make people crazy.

"Deprimo!" Melanie said fiercely, making a karate chopping motion with her wand. To her great satisfaction the was a loud cracking noise and as she looked down at her board...It was smashed into two parts.

Letting out a a sigh that conveyed both exhaustion and relief Melanie set the two parts of the wood on her desk, and walked out of the room, a look of triumph evident on her face.
