The cold, dank potions classroom was open, welcoming the students in its typical dim, cheerless way. The glass of the many bottles and jars of strange potions ingredients caught the light of the flickering candles, tattooing strange and foreboding patterns of light and shadow on the hard stone walls.

The student workstations were set with four stools at each table. Each table also held potions equipment including pipettes, flasks, a mortar and pestle and a few small cauldrons of various metals, each on smalls stands with small heating elements beneath them.

The blackboard reads simply:

Class Synopsis:

Class has begun, and it is a 'pop quiz' in which questions are asked. Each student's seat has a water balloon filled with a random potion suspended above it. The three quickest to answer correctly (with original answers or expanding upon an answer if there is one 'right' answer) are safe. The others are at risk of being doused with potion! If potion is spilled on you, you must try to brew the counter-potion to cure yourself while still answering questions... Or risk a new balloon's wrath!

Answer quickly, originally, and correctly to stay dry!

ooc: Go ahead and be seated, and feel free to RP getting set up and talking to your classmates as you do. This will be a very short lesson by comparison to previous lessons... but I hope you find it entertaining nonetheless!

To say Tibi was anxious about walking into a potions class would be... a huge understatement. After their failed attempt to ship Kazi to Oz, well, he'd been keeping a low profile.

But that blasted voice in the back of his head just wouldn't let him skip. He'd looke guilty that way, wouldn't he?

Still sporting two deep purple circles under his eyes, and his nose slightly crooked, (having refused to go see Nurse Avalon) Tibi shuffled into class. At least he looked like he'd been beat up. The old man didn't need to know it was the floor that had done the beating.

Dropping his bag on the floor - which he'd checked and double checked to make sure was completely empty of any prank supplies - Tibi went about setting up his station, an odd sense of foreboding in the pit of his stomach.

Potions. Again. Each lesson Destiny disliked this class more and more.

Ooo, Tibi was here, the little creeper. 'Hi, Tibi.' Destiny wished she could be the one resposible for his nose, but no. She was thinking about sitting next to him, be decided not too. The chalkboard did say 'be prepared', and Destiny didn't want Tibi to poison her. So she just made her way to an empty seat and started to set up. Where was Evelyn?

Delana walked into the class feeling even more excited than usual.
She thought about all the possibilities of what they could be doing... she couldn't wait.

Setting up her station, she looked around... 'working as a team'.. what did that mean? A team of 2? 3?.... She didn't know, but amazing things always happened in potions class. ..

After the last lesson, Livvy had been quuuite hesitant to attend Potions class, but she had to. Even if they were in third place and losing to Gryffindor by over two hundred points, she wasn't going to give up. She, Olivia Zhang, wasn't about to go down without a fight! That was most definitely for sure. It may have seemed like a lost cause, but she just hoped WITHALLHERHEART... that people would just come to class and participate. Life would be so much easier. Next year hopefully?

BLEH....

Livvy entered the Potions classroom with a grim look on her face. No cheerful smile anymore. Her mind was filled with Final exams and with memories of her last experience in that very.. room. Love potions. Shudder. LOVEPOTIONS! SHUDDERSHUDDERSHUDDER. Livvy was no longer able to go around hearing those specific two words and three syllables without shuddering at the thought. She blamed KAZI. He made 'em! Eviiiilll man. Evviiilll.

But there was nothing that could be done about the man and his evilness. Instead of moping around, Livvy made her way to an empty desk and plopped down into the seat, dropping her book bag down on the floor next to her. Lazily and reluctantly, the girl began to set up her workstation, her eyes glancing at the door in hopes of finding someone that she knew to share her misery with.

Evelyn seriously did not feel like coming to class, especially this class. 'One, JUST one class...that didn't have some weird love potion, poisoning, thing going on. Juuuust one...' she pleaded in her mind, dragging her feet to go sit by Destiny who she spotted when she walked through the door.

Oh, well first off- "Hey...Tibi." she muttered when she passed the Ravenclaw, before she got a good look at him. "Nice face." she laughed, heading over to sit and set up her station. She certainly was curious what happened to him though, since he sure didn't look like that in Kazi's office. "What happened to him?" she asked Destiny, wondering if she saw what happened to the Ravenclaw too.

Potions class...those two little words LouAnn had dreaded ever since she, Torin, Tibi, and Cam had tried to shrink Kazimeriz and ship him off to Australia. Shrink...ha. More like blow up to epic proportions! Why had they gotten the Shrinking Solution mixed up with Swelling Solution again? The plan had failed, of course, so now she and her teammates were stuck facing whatever wrath lied before them. Seeing Tibi already in place and setting up his station, LouAnn headed immediately over and gave the young Ravenclaw a polite smile. "Partners?" she asked, placing her bookbag on the floor just next to his.

Pumbadittidummmmmm. A rythm was going on in hear head as she walked towards the potions classroom. Miranda wondered what they were going to do today, probably another potion that made you gaga and stupid...or not. Kazi was pretty responsible about that stuff, right?

She walked inside and remembered the awful lesson involving love and silly students on the verge of tattooing the names of their partners on their patooties. But after not seeing the professor, she noticed the announcement on the board and grinned. Awesome! This would totally be fun!

Not seeing anyone she knew, Miranda walked over to sit at a random table and began to set her things up, hoping to see more people around her. And hopefully, her team would KICK EVERYONE ELSES BUMS! Yeaaaaaaah! They would go all KABLAMO on them!

Tibi glared, or, at least as best as he could with his face still sore, at the two Slytherins. "Yeah, pick on the kid that got beat up, real nice," he spat at the girl as she teased him. Stupid Slytherins.

Getting beat up was his story and he was sticking to it!

Frowning, he didn't notice that anyone had approached him until they spoke. Looking up, Tibi gave a tired smile. "Hi, Lou Ann." He looked around the room, wondering if them partnering was the best idea. It might look... suspicious.

But then again, if he already suspected Lou Ann, well, partnering wasn't going to make much of a difference.

"Sure. Partners."

Mina walked into the dank and dim classroom, flashbacks of the last lesson running amok in her head. She wouldn't think about it, no she refused to think about it. She decided to forget about what had happen and never think about it again. The potion was to blame and it wasn't real at all.

Pushing all thoughts of the whole experience out of her head, she walked over to a workstation and began to set up. Taking notice of the other stools at the station, she looked around. There were only a few people present, but she hoped more would come in if they did have to work in teams. After the last time, she didn't want to risk having to do work on her own and then have something terrible happen.

"Awesome," LouAnn simply replied, just before retrieving all her potions materials and starting the process of setting up. Ever so often, she glanced up towards the front of the classroom, nervously awaiting the moment when the professor would stand up there and meet the students eye to eye. She swallowed a little lump in her throat then glanced over at Tibi, wondering if he, too, was thinking along the same lines as she was. Of course he was---this was Kazimeriz they were talking about! She sighed then worked some more on setting up her potions materials.

Professor Kazimeriz moved into the room with a determined gait.

"Good afternoon." he said tersely, moving to the lectern at the front of the room. "Well. Here we are, approaching the end of the year. I hope that you all have learned a great deal here at Hogwarts, and do hope that you have learned a thing or two about potions along the way." His dark eyes scanned the room, pausing on certain students as he did so.

"Today you have a chance to prove yourselves."

He cleared his throat. "Tiberius Pryce, LouAnn Purple, Cam Karsten and Torin Kane. Please rise so your classmates can see you."

Uh oh. Tibi felt his pulse quicken as the old man strode into the room and then called his name. That's it. He was dead.

Tibi looked over at Lou Ann before rising slowly, biting his lip to keep it from trembling. He'd imagined punishment, sure. But public? Were.. THEY the pop quiz? All the confidence he'd had in the moment of the prank was gone. They'd failed and now they were going to suffer.

And Torin and Cam? How'd the old man known? They'd been wearing headless hats. Oh, this was a right disaster. Tibi pushed his palms down on the desk, steadying himself.

Taking a deep breath, he forced himself to look straight ahead, a mix of fear and loathing churning in his stomach.

Without even glancing up, LouAnn knew the professor had arrived. Her eyes widened and she searched Tibi's face for any sign that he, too, was about to have a panic anxiety attack of some sort. When Professor Kazimeriz spoke, LouAnn eyes slowly moved away from Tibi and towards the professor. Although she wasn't a hundred percent sure, LouAnn thought that maybe she's stopped breathing...or her heart had stopped beating...at the exact moment that 'Good afternoon' message was spoken.

She would have been polite and returned the greeting, but the cotton in her throat had grown to an epic size, and she knew there was no way coherent words could come from her mouth. The professor was speaking to the class now, so maybe he'd somehow forgotten all about the little episode in his office and out in the corridor. How lucky could they be!

...or not. Rise? As in, stand up so all eyes could be on them? Oh, no! They were about to be ridiculed weren't they? Where were Torin and Cam? Surely they'd arrived by now? There was safety in numbers!!! Knowing that she had no other choice but to obey, LouAnn rose to her feet and awaited her fate.

Bahahaha. The more Destiny thought about it, the funnier it became. 'Congratulate? I was thinking of throwing them a party.' Although Destiny was a little upset she didn't get to witness (or be a part) that 'fight'. He got what he deserved.

But it wasn't over yet. The normal sized Kazi had entered! This was the first, and probably only time Destiny would be excited to see him. And then he called all four, 'Four? There were four of them?', students names, including Tibi and LouAnn. 'Are we still getting them housepoints?' She would ask, but Kazi scared her.

Good thing that soon, very soon, Willow would not have to deal with this particular class anymore. She'd not have to worry over it, or study or ... anything. Yes, freedom was almost palpable and the last day of school could certainly not come fast enough, as far as she was concerned.

Slightly amused, though her expression remained smooth wiped from any kind of emotion, the seventh year watched as the ancient Professor Kazimeriz instructed a few students to stand up.

And whatever had happened to Tibi's face? One of her eyebrows quirked up.

Torin had been sitting near the back of the room. He didn't want to be here, but he had to.

And this Kazi had asked for him, LouAnn, Tibi and Cameron to stand. And he figured that he knew. Kazi knew. But how? He had been wearing a headless hat.

Scared, he slowly rose to his feet, masking the fact that he was terrified well. He was barely even shaking.

Kazimeriz watched as Purple and Pryce stood*, a look of smug satisfaction on his face.

"Ladies and gentleman, please note: these students are responsible for the ...ahem... inspiration for today's class content. Please also note that their poor behavior is the root cause of any discomfort that you may experience as a result of this class. Congratulations to all four of you for your little performance in my corridor; all of your classmates are to pay the price for your behavior. I am certain they will thank you after class." Kazimeriz smirked at the standing students and then turned back to the class at large.

"Our final today will be in the form of a 'pop' quiz... quite literally." He walked to a large trunk at the front of the room and opened it to reveal that it was filled with balloons. The balloons were made of latex and were thin enough that it was apparent that they were each filled with some sort of liquid. He waved his (well, Upstead's, technically) wand and levitated them until every square inch of the ceiling was covered with balloons.

"We are going to play a little game. I will ask you a potions related question. The first three to answer it correctly are safe- no copying, your answers must be original or expand upon the original answer to count. Anyone who answers after the first student, answers incorrectly, or does not answer at all, is in danger of having the balloon above your head burst."

"I am sure that you all have surmised what is in the balloons... A variety of topically applied potions- potions that do not need to be ingested to work. Boil-inducing potions, shrinking and swelling solutions--" he glanced at Pryce "-- hair raising potion, color changing potions, scale-inducing serum, aging potions, and so on. It is quite a variety we have up there."

"Your task, first and foremost, is to answer quickly, correctly, and with an original answer to avoid being splashed with a potion. Should you fail in this, your task will be to quickly go and brew a counter-potion that will resolve whatever reaction your exposure to the potion has caused. I say 'quickly' because while you are brewing, you must continue to answer my questions, for once a balloon pops on you another one will take its place over your head and you may find that you are the victim of multiple potions if you do not answer quickly and accurately."

"Before we begin... are there any questions?" Kazimeriz eyed the class.

*ooc: in the interest of time i'm moving the class forward; i know this class was short notice. if you guys want to post that your charries stood as well - or didn't for that matter- i will react to them separately when you post, or will react if they are not there as well.

Oh Tibi was sooooo going to pay. LouAnn too. And that boy Destiny didn't know. 'If one of them balloons pop on my head..' Well she didn't know what she would do, but it would be something. Something horrible.

Oooo questions. 'Couldn't we just, you know, pop the balloons on their heads, instead?' Destiny asked Kazi as she pointed to the students up front (mostly Tibi). The answer would probably be no, but it can't hurt to try.

Dominic listened as the Professor began to explain the lesson to them, which was ultimately going to be in the form of a pop quiz. UGH! Though he'd generally fared well in potions, somehow the thought of being the victim of a balloon popping on his head did NOT bode well. He'd been busy with NEWT work and now he had this stress of possibly brewing counter-potions and questions to deal with.

Oh yea and not to mention the stress of the fact that he had just so happened managed to sit at the same table as the Ravenclaw Captain. Someone who'd purposefully been avoiding ALL term and now was RIGHT next to him.

More stress. Today was NOT his day at all. Especially if his hair changed to like blue or something or ... boils ... ugh, yea, he didn't want to think about the possibilities.

Wow, this final is absolutely crazy but it is to be expected with Kazmirez but to take out what other students did on everyone else, that seems abit childish, Herminny thought as she waited to see if anyone would aske question, she certainly was not because she was sure anyquestion she asked would likely get her into trouble and their was no way out. Atleast this is educational so atleat there is that if nothing else

Tiberius had been waiting to be kicked out of potions forever, or made to taste-test everyone's potions or any number of terrible things.

But not this. Certainly not this. He wanted to crawl inside his own skin and die. He hadn't made many friends this year, and now it was certain he never would. Feeling an anger well up inside of him, replacing his fear (that would come later... when he had to try to hide from a mob of potion-soaked students), he balled his hands into fists, leaving them resting on the desk.

"Didn't. do. anything." He said through gritted teeth, looking at the old man. He was sticking with denial. Let the old man try to prove it.

Smiling at Destiny and her opinion on throwing the person a party, her attention moved back to the professor when he spoke. Her smile faded as he went on about what they were doing in class, eventually ending in a murderess scowl. She watched the balloons cover the entire ceiling, particularly the one hovering right above her. 'Please be a color changing one. Please please please.' she thought while glancing over to the people who were standing.

Well yea, she did have a question. Could she leave? Not that she would ask that out loud, for fear that the Professor would just pop the balloon above her...but still! This was soooo unfair...If one of those balloons popped above her head, she was hiding under the desk. No way was she going to pay for what THEY did.
