The first thing you notice about this office is the exceptionally large desk, which, if you look closer; seems to have unusual scuffmarks on its surface. Perhaps it serves a less mundane purpose than simply a desk? A large and comfortable looking chair sits behind it; obviously this is Ethan’s chair though you will rarely find him sitting in it.

Three smaller, yet no less comfortable looking chairs are arranged facing the desk, ready for any visiting students to take a seat. While waiting you might notice a large bookcase along one wall; though there are no books on it. Instead it is brimming with photo frames. Pictures of Ethan in his days as a student at WADA (if you look closely at the one on the left, you might recognize another Hogwarts staff member shuffling a pack of cards and doing one of those hit-with-the-ladies grins that former rockstars are quite good at) , one of him as a thirteen year old in Slytherin robes (And that younger Gryffindor boy with him just happens to be the bartender at the Leaky Cauldron), a selection of him a few years ago with various dragons in the background, one featuring dragons (and a certain fiery red headed professor), one of him on a muggle sailing ship, another on stage dressed in tights and holding a skull and one of him in Egypt working with curse breakers and from this summer, a picture of Anastasia Bunbury, one of himself and Copernicus Kettleburn in Egypt and one of himself with Jake Upstead after taking the young Hufflepuff rock climbing.

An old looking gramophone sits on the bookcase with a selection of records stacked haphazardly to one side, various eras of music are represented; of both the wizarding and the muggle variety. On the walls his OWL and NEWT results are proudly displayed alongside certificates proclaiming his knowledge and familiarity with various Dragon breeds.

A large basket sits in one corner, and a slight snoring sound can often be heard coming from this direction where Ethan’s chihuahua makes its bed.

The walls and ceiling are blue for reasons Truebridge hasn’t discovered, and he's been meaning to do something about that.

There are still fairly intense precautions against intruders this term, many charms are weaved around the doorway, the windows, all over the floors and on his desk drawers. If you go poking about, you will quite literally be caught 'red handed', startled by a ridiculously loud caterwauling charm (which might likely be heard from the Defense Against the Dark Arts and Muggle Studies classrooms), possibly glued to whichever surface you touch and maybe even temporarily blinded. If you happen to have any difficulties with your joints, particularly your hips, it would be wise not to enter without making an appointment, the floor has been cursed to dislocate joints which have already suffered irreversible spell damage.

He was even contemplating an age line to keep anyone over 100 years out.

Paranoid? Still?

Yes of course.

In any case, there is now a wooden bench and a large and dusty ledger outside of his office If you wish to speak to him, you need to write your name in the ledger and take a seat on the bench, or alternatively, leave a note in the ledger and Professor Truebridge will owl you when he has a free moment.

Ethan came straight to his office after the staff meeting, rather than go to the feast. He wanted to... sort a few things out and hopefully make sense of things. Was it true that nobody else knew that it was Borr who was coming to... teach or whatever it was he did, at Hogwarts?

He opened his desk drawer and rummaged through it, pulling out a pile of odd little disks with bindrunes carved all over them. Ethan arranged them on his desk and using his wand he tapped each and changed them with the protean charm so that they resembled every day items, he even transfigured one to be a part of the desk and hid a few more in a few other ways.

Oh yes, he'd know if someone tried to tamper with his office when he wasn't around. Yes he would.

Once everything was arranged to his satisfaction, Ethan sat down in his chair, glad that it was wide and comfortable, and kicked his booted feet up on the desk.

Feast?

He wasn't hungry.

Lord Borr approached his office with a leather suitcase in tow. He'd just BARELY had enough time to get a few things together from his home - he was just SOOO BUSY! So MUCH to do! He hit the door with his massive bottom and knocked the door open so that it bounced loudly off the door jamb.

"How could this office POSSIBLY LOOK ANY WORSE than it DID?!?!" Lord Borr immediately started shouting, with no small amount of spit flying from his mouth. He banged his suitcase down on the ground and then smacked his cane against the atrocious blue wall.

His beady dark eyes swept across to the desk. "WELL?" Was Ethan going to GET UP? BOW? SHOW RESPECT? "Get your FEET off my DESK, boy!"

As soon as he heard movement outside, Ethan had his wand drawn.

Under his desk of course.

He relaxed and put it away when he saw it was Borr, but his words and the yelling took a while to sink in.

This office? His desk?

Ethan eyed the wall where Borr smacked it and slowly took his feet down. Then he slowly stood up and offered the tiniest nod in greeting.

"Was there something you needed from me, Sir? A reason that you decided to grace me with your presence in my office rather than head to the feast?"

Lord Borr used his free hand to rub his sweaty brow. The lard of his underarm flapped in the wind like clothes on a clothesline. It was going to be a very. long. year. "What I NEED is for you to remove yourself from MY chair, MY desk, and MY OFFICE so that I, LORD BERTY BORR, can get some WORK DONE!!!!!" OBVIOUSLY.

He pointed at his suitcase. "Put this away and then you have my permission to go join your peers at the feast." Merciful Borr.

"Actually. It's my office. Has been for the last two years, Sir." Ethan was not buying it. He examined the suitcase and shook his head once. "If you are teaching Astronomy," Which... was mind boggling in itself, "Then you'll be on the 7th floor. Six floors up."

Though, Ethan had a moment to actually envy Borr then, since that was as far away from Kazimeriz on the dungeon level as you could get.

"I'd happily help you take your bag up there."

Ethan leaned on his desk and crossed his arms across his chest.

"NOW YOU LISTEN HERE BOY," Lord Borr began, his cane waggling precariously in the air. "YOU DON'T KNOW THE FIRST THING ABOUT THIS OFFICE!!!!!!!" Lord Borr started across the office, his breath coming in ragged, angry gasps. The sweat rolled down his back from the exertion and STRESS. He worked SO HARD, ALL THE TIME.

"I'm LORD BORR, Ethan! YOU remember that! I was HERE FIRST!!!! I will have a centrally located office. THIS office, to be exact. YOU will remove yourself immediately. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?" Lord Borr tapped the end of his cane on the desk. TAP. TAP. TAP. TAP. TAP.

He looked down at the tapping cane and added, "...sir."

Borr looked like he was going to have a fit.

"Where else would I go?"

"Don't SCHOOL me in who has and HAS NOT been in this office, boy. You should do MORE with those ears and LESS with that mouth of yours." WISE WORDS. Lord Borr was full of wisdom and knowledge.

The look Lord Borr gave was pure disappointment. "Are you TRULY THAT DAFT that you can not piece together what office is vacant? TRULY, Ethan? You DO HAVE a brain in your head; I just KNOW you do! USE IT. WHAT FREELOADING WASTE OF SPACE GOT WHAT WAS COMING TO HIM? What OFFICE IS VACANT???" Lord Borr waited patiently for slow Ethan to put the pieces together.

Ethan regarded Lord Borr quietly, realising that there would be a benefit to allowing him temporary use of his space.

With his expression deadpan, Ethan fought down the outrage at how Borr referred to Forrester. Clearly, CLEARLY Borr was no Slytherin or he'd respect that Forrester had been a great man. Not that it had sunk in that he was gone since Ethan had only just discovered this during the staff meeting, and he wouldn't precisely remember him fondly, but he had been good for Slytherin House.

And they'd now be mollycoddled and babied by Alessia Lupa.

And, as Ethan had thought before, the 7th Floor WOULD be far away from Kazimeriz.

"And what about classes?"

"What about them?!" Lord Borr asked, his patience growing thin. He used his cane to help get Ethan MOVING from behind the desk. The cane lay flat against the young man's outer arm and Borr steered him AWAY FROM THE DESK. "That's your JOB." Lord Borr heaved a heavy sigh. "You. Teach. Classes," he said slowly, enunciating each word but using his "slow people" voice.

Ethan Truebridge was a slow person.

NOW MOVE MOVE MOVE ALREADY. Lord Borr had STUFF TO DO! "Pack up all this garbage before you go. I cannot be expected to work with all this CLUTTER!"

Ethan Truebridge held in a glare, realising this could actually be to his benefit.
"I merely meant, Lord Borr," Ethan threw the man a little bone and accompanied it with the tiniest bow, executed smoothly, "Will you not need the observatory to hold your classes in? Would we swap classroom space as well as office space? I would not want to get in your way after all."

When you were as busy and as important as LORD BERTY BORR, your feet often were worn out. Lord Borr's feet were TIRED and COMPLAINING, but also sweaty and putrid.

No matter. He slipped out of his shoes, one at a time, and slid them under the desk. HIS DESK. "DON'T you have some WORK TO DO? I know I DO!!!" Lord Borr pointed at all the junk in the office, then to Truebridge, then VERY DELIBERATELY towards the DOOR.

Well...

Ethan supposed that answered that question.

He gave his wand a few swoops and his personal items shrunk themselves and flew into the little dog basket in the corner. Where the chihuahua was, Ethan had no clue but he'd show up at some point.

"Of course."

He eyed the desk and his chair, being quite fond of both of those, but the smell from Borr's feet was enough reason for Ethan to pick up the basket and leave.

"Enjoy. Sir."

And Ethan would keep an ear open for sure.

Once Ethan FINALLY vacated LORD BORR'S OFFICE, he could get some WORK done! There was SO much to be done! In the spirit of priorities, Lord Borr got out his suitcase and began to rummage. He very well should have TAKEN A BREAK. A REST! He'd been BUSY BUSY BUSY doing VERY important things ALL DAY LONG - ALL LIFE LONG, but alas, there was still much to do.

Lord Borr never rested, never.

He retrieved a ballot box from his suitcase, then left his office.

Believing very much so that he was in fact on his way to Professor Truebridge's office, Jake approached the door and knocked, before pressing his ear against it. Hmmm... nothing. Either there was one of those charms on it, so he couldn't hear through the door, or nobody was in.

Or both.

But still, he pressed his ear up against the door and listened, suddenly remembering doing this at one point last term.

C'mon Truebs. I need to borrow something.

Eva walked through the Hogwarts corridors, actually paying attention to where she was. She had a question for Ethan Truebridge regarding the last class of the previous year that she needed, allongside with a few recomendations to study for her N.E.W.T.s, which would take place in the end of the year. Although she hadn't liked Truebirdge in his first year of teaching, Eva had started to become very fond of the teacher as the classes went by and she observed his teaching methods.
Eva intended to knock on the door twice, believing that no student should be there so early in the school year, until she saw another Hufflepuff student.
"Hi. Are you also here to see Truebridge?" she asked with her nice smile. Oh well. Seems like TRuebridge has more fans than I thought, she comcluded with an amused smile, glancing at the biy.

Hearing someone else nearby, Jake jumped away from the door, pretending he hadn't been trying to listen through it. But it was only a student... he was relatively safe.

"Yeah," Jake nodded, brushing his pink hair away from his eyes. "I need to borrow something off him... but I haven't seen him in ages."

Not at the feast either. It was... annoying.

And, well... maybe Jake would have better luck somewhere else. With this logic, Jake nodded to himself and turned away from the door, setting off down the corridor after giving a small wave to he girl he'd left behind. He'd just have to return later.

It had been a rough term, to say the least, and Bunbury was more than happy to get out of the greenhouses for a bit. And where else would she go besides to visit a friend? Her ~~only~~ favorite friend.

Annie approached the History of Magic classroom quickly but paused just outside the door to the office. Something.... smelled... funny out here. Bunz tilted her head up slightly and sniffed the air. Ew. EWW. Was that cigar smoke? Or moldy cheese?

......or a combination of them both? Disgusting. Ethan didn't smoke, did he? Since when?

Eyes narrowing slightly, Anastasia put a hand on the doorknob and then paused again. Hmm. Maybe she should knock first, in case he was smoking in the office. She didn't want to see a disappointment like that.

Brushing her hair off her shoulder, Bunz took a breath and then knocked on the door with three strong raps.

Alessia made her way to the office and saw that rabid bunny woman in front of the door. Alessia decided to be a bit Slytherin and test the waters.

"Annie!" She said all smiles. "I hear congratulations are in order... Ethan just..." but an aweful odor was coming from the office... "told me..." She looked to the door. "What is that odor?" She asked.

That had to be what the smell was. "Alessiaaaa," Anastasia returned the woman's greeting with a fake smile of her own. "How lovely to see you." NOT. NOTTTTT. Never. Was it ever a pleasure to see the mongrel? No. Duh. Anyone with a pair of eyeballs and a brain knew that.

Annie's smile faded slightly into a look of confusion when she mentioned speaking to Ethan, however. "Congratulations...? For what?" And where had she seen him if she was waiting outside his office too? The werewolf part of Alessia's brain clearly had a poor sense of direction. Or she was just plain stupid. Probably the latter.

"Hmm, funny, I hadn't noticed the odor until you arrived," the redhead quickly piped up, broadening her sickly sweet smile.

Daphne was holding out the cookie at arm's length. She wanted nothing to do with the stupid cookie. Not. One. Thing.

She could have just dropped it on the way down. Woopsie Daisy! And forgotten all about Borr's existence--which she was still tempted to do. She arrived, letting the stupid cookie lead the way to find Bunbury and Lupa there.

Just. There.

Talking and being social in front of Borr's office of all places. Couldn't they find a better place to be? Daphne Hopton could think of several. NOT HERE for starters. In other times she would have greeted them but since she was SO RUDE. She might as well keep going on a roll of RUDENESS.

So. She kicked on the door twice. "Cookie delivery for Professor Borr! Cookie Delivery For Professor Borr! Coooome and get it!"

Merlin help us all. Were these WOMEN really, honestly, truly THIS DAFT???? Didn't they KNOW he was VERY BUSY? VERY IMPORTANT? OUT AND ABOUT molding the minds of the young and eager?!!?!? HE WAS NOT IN HIS OFFICE, you FOOLS.

... Didn't THEY have THINGS to be DOING?!?!

Lord Borr knew fangirls when he was saw them. No one deserved fangirls more, true, but NO ONE HAD LESS TIME THAT LORD BORR. He stood behind them all briefly, taking in the scene. AMAZING. TRULY AMAZING. That they had ALL THIS FREE TIME!! Here he was working his fingers to the BONE while they dallied and socialized outside his office.

"LADIES!!" MOVE. OUT. OF. THE. WAY. Lord Borr glared at the whole lot before parting the feminine sea with his wide, protruding belly.

OHH COOKIE! Lord Borr stopped to pluck the cookie from -- sniff sniff -- was that vomit girl? Hard to tell without PUKE covering her head. She cleaned up FINALLY. Lord Borr put the whole cookie into his mouth then proceeded into his office.

"WELL COME IN IF YOU MUST! And make it SNAPPY! I'm very busy. Something none of YOU would know about."

Peering over Lupa's shoulder at the arrival of Daphne Hopton and her cookie delivery, Bunbury's facial expression could not have been more confused.

But before she had a chance to puzzle it out, a very large, very fat, very busy and very important person arrived and spouted PUUURE RUUUDENESSSS to Anastasia R. Bunbury.

She did not tolerate rudeness. She also did not tolerate the smell accompanying this well-proportioned man.

"Well excuuuse meee," the redhead drawled sarcastically, click-clacking into the office with one hand on her hip, "but who are you and what are you doing in here if you are so very busy? This isn't your office."

Duh. It was Ethan's office. Who knew if this walrus of a man even had an office. And Annie was obviously too busy and important herself to bother to take a look around the room and notice the lack of Truebridge-ness.

She wanted to growl at BunBunz and let her hear she could tap into the wolf if she wanted... but a hippopotamus seemed to walk by them...

She blinked...

This was LORD BORR!!!

Alessia slipped in the office and watched as the rabid bunny woman spoke to the large man. She'd answer her later.
