Tiberius was going to be really early for class... he had been afraid of being unable to find his way around the castle, but now he knew where he was going and still had so much time! He frowned, unsure of what to do as he stood in the middle of the corridor. Putting his back against the wall, he slid until his bottom hit the floor.

Rummaging through his bags, he pulled out some parchment to keep working on his Arithmancy homework. He looked up frequently, being distracted by the moving portraits or the odd student walking past him.

EH.

Tammy wasn't in the mood to go anywhere else. And was randomly scouring the castle to find SOMEONE, or something she knew. BUT. She was coming across small first years who were busy gossiping and giggling about 'rumours'. None about her of course. She hoped not anyways.

Coming to a slower pace Tammy spotted one boy, head buried deep in homework. Supposing it was homework anyway.

"You okay?" She asked, not one hundred percent bothered, but he seemed frazzled, bored.

Alex was walking down the first floor corridor, not really paying attention to where she was going, but her natural veela grace kept her from running into things, or tripping over them.
A far off look was in her gray eyes, and she was absentmindedly twilling a piece of her white blonde hair around her finger as she walked. Her other hand strayed down to her blue skinny jeans, smoothing a non existent wrinkle from them.

When had this year gotten hard? Why was it so hard to hide who she was? Surely other people glowed slightly? Right? Or was it just her. She sighed and stopped by a window to look out at the lake. No one could find out.. No one.

Tibi looked up at the voice, rather surprised that anyone was addressing him. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine. Just working on some homework."

Figuring that he should be on his way to class soon anyway, he stood. Stuffing things in his bag, he extended an empty hand. "Hi, I'm Tiberius." His hair was all mussed and his bag was too heavy and made him lean to one side, but he was in generally high spirits.

Damon was walking along the corridor, making a point to ignore the people surrounding himself. It probably wasn't kind that he reacted to others in such a way, but that's just how he was most of the time. And then he paused, catching something out of the corner of his eye. It was one of the other girls in the school, though he couldn't recall what house or what year she was in off the top of his head; he couldn't check her robes because she was facing away.

She seemed self-conscious, in a way, and in another way entirely, he was drawn to her. He was instantly reminded of veela, and shook his head against the feeling. That was completely absurd. But...

He finally approached her, standing about five feet away as he leaned against the wall, also glancing out at the lake now. "Something on your mind?" he asked.

OH. So he was okay. EH, her general knack for noticing things was loosing its goodness. DRATT!

"oh. ER. okay.." She trailed off and watched as the boy stood up, and stuck out a hand. EH. Looking at it quickly for germs, and small child ICK. She smiled softly and took it with her own. "I'm Tammy. Tammy Wood. Seventh year hufflepuff." Tammy smiled again.

"Nice to meet you, Tammy." Tibi smiled. "I just didn't want to climb all the way back up to the towers before class, so I figured I'd just sit here and wait."

Nobody had noticed Tibi, really, so he didn't think it was a problem. He noticed the prefect badge on her robes and wondered if maybe he wasn't supposed to be here.

"That's ok, isn't it?"

"Nice to meet you too.. Can I call you something shorter. I'm useless with long names." She shrugged, grinning. Before nodding at his next question about it being okay.

"Course its okay." Tammy laughed softly and looked down at her badge. EH, that did tend to frighten them off..

"I was just walking, and I thought something might be wrong, 'cos you were sitting on your own.."

"Bunch of people call me Tibi.. you can too, i fyou want," Tiberius offered. Scratching an itch on his nose, he turned for a little moment.

"Nope, everything's ok. I just... sit alone a bunch.." Tibi let his voice trail off. He didn't have a ton of friends yet and the ones he did have? He could never find them...

Nodding ever so softly, Tammy smiled. "Tibi it is then. Nice to meet you Tibi." GiggleSnort. It sounded funny. Nice funny. Tibi, tibi, tiiiiiiibbbbbiiiiii. Sorta rolled off the tongue when you came to thin about it.

"I can go ift you want to still be alone..."

"Well, I don't need to be alone..." Tibi paused, considering the time, "but I do think I need to be going."

Smiling broadly, looking up at the older girl, he continued. "It was nice to meet you. See you around!"

And with that, Tibi scurried down the hall and off to class.

Alex turned at the sound of a voice, and she saw a guy standing there. A cute guy, but instead of lighting up like she usually would and smiling at him, she looked at him carefully for a moment, a small smile stretching across her lips.

"I guess you could say that." She said as she tilted her head a little in his direction. She absentmindedly ran her hand through her hair, the far off look in her eyes still as they flicked back to the boy. "How about you? Or were you just wandering the corridors?" She asked turning her small body fully to face him. he was a Slytherin, a little older than she was, if she guessed right. She looked down at her Gryffindor robes and smiled a little. "Still want to converse with a troubled Gryffindor?" She asked him, one of her eyebrows arching, a tiny smirk on her face.

Damon watched as she turned towards him, immediately making note of her Gryffindor robes. There was a far off look in her eye, and her absent-minded actions let him know that there most definitely was something on her mind; he didn't need her to tell him that. "I was just passing through," he replied, flashing her a quick smile before shifting the direction of his eyes out the window to look over the grounds.

He shrugged, smirking a little as he met her gaze again. "As long as you don't start crying, sure," he replied in a neutral tone. It was true though. He didn't know how to handle tears, so he would probably just walk away if she started. Luckily, she didn't appear as though she was about to cry, so he figured he was safe for the time being. "So what's on your mind, if you don't mind me asking?"

Alex laughed a little as the boy spoke. "I don't cry." She said shaking her head, her blonde hair flying everywhere. I ran out of tears a long time ago.. She thought to herself as she sighed a bit and looked back up at him.

"No, I don't mind your asking.." Alex hesitated for a second.. "I have a secret.. one that don't want anyone to find out about, one that is apart of who I am.. One that will change the way people look at me.." She sighed more, her gray eyes were clearing a little, losing their distracted look.

"But you see, Someone has already figured it out, says it's obvious.. and now I am wondering.. what to do.. Seeing as now.. I'll never know for sure.. exactly what people think of me.." She looked out at the lake again and shifted her weight, an amazingly graceful movement. Even for a movement so small.

The sun was coming in through the window a little, giving her hair, and her skin a subtle glow..

"Oh, I am Alexandrina by the way, but you can call me Alex if you want." She said a small smile on her face.

He smiled at her; for a Gryffindor, she wasn't that bad. Then again, Gryffindors were sort of cute until they did something dreadfully self-sacrificing and stupid. "Damon," he replied, "Rimstone. But I guess if we're going to be on a first name basis, then just Damon is fine." Although he looked at her inquisitively, he didn't ask what the secret was, even if his previous thoughts about veela jumped back to the front of his psyche. He pushed them back as quickly as they came.

"Are you sure they're going to tell people?" he asked, crossing his arms over his chest as he continued to lean into the stone wall, tilting his head to the side to shield his eyes from the sun's rays. "I mean, if they stay quiet, then you won't have to worry, will you?" Obviously he was missing something, some key element. A part of him wondered why this mysterious other could just be made to stay quiet, but he somehow thought this was against how Gryffindors operated. They tended to let life serve them fate rather than threaten and blackmail their way out of things. It was a pity.

Alex smiled a bit, "It is nice to meet you Damon." She said with a nod of her head. She looked him over again, inconspicuously of course... He was cute, and her natural instinct was just to smile, flirt and charm her way into his heart. It could be done easily, of course but she didn't want it that way..

She watched as he leaned against the wall, hiding his eyes from the sun. "Well, no I am not sure they are going to tell people, and if they stay quiet well that is great. But.. my secret is something about me, something that is inherently part of me, and whether they stay quiet or not.. Eventually people will figure it out.." She watched him carefully, about to put a theory of hers to the test.

"You barely know me, but let me ask you, what was your first impression of me?" She asked him curiously. Her gray eyes were now fixed on him.

"Yeah, it's nice to meet you too, Alex," Damon replied with a small half-smile. He glanced at her through the sun's rays, even though it was getting too bright for comfort and he could hardly see her beside the blinding sun.

He leaned forward a little, rolling his shoulders back as if to relieve a cramp. Finally, he said, "You know, that's not as uncommon as you'd think. It probably varies on how great a difference it is, but on the bright side, people will judge you regardless of whether you have this thing you're talking about or something else entirely. And the people who are worth your time won't judge you." Just what was coming out of his mouth, now? He loved judging people. Especially little Gryffindors who acted unerringly according to commonly established morale. But he didn't judge people all the time. He wasn't judging now, so maybe that was something.

Damon laughed, meeting her gray-eyed gaze with his own, his blue eyes flashing in the bright sunlight pouring through. "I thought that even though you looked like a loner and a little troubled, and even though I'm really not the comforting type, that I'd be mental not to talk to you." But his face fell serious as he leaned back against the wall again. "Is there a reason you asked?"

Alex relaxed a little as Damon spoke, he was right.. really. No matter if she was a Veela or not, people would judge her. "Yeah, I guess you are right, I don't know why I have been so upset about people finding out.. But if they are worth my time, my secret won't matter.. Hopefully.." She added as she chewed a bit on her lower lip.

She smiled a little as his blue eyes lit up and she could feel herself brighten a little. "Really? Hmmm well thank you.. I think.." She said a small smile on her face, "Was there a reason? Yeah.. Actually there was, I was attempting to prove a point.. but.. I guess there is no point to make." She said as she shifted off the wall, "Why don't we move further down? So the sun doesn't keep on blinding you?" She asked with a small laugh, the sound like music.

He nodded and turned away from the window as he walked away from the blinding sun. "Yeah, that would probably be moderately more comfortable...," he replied, letting his voice trail off. She was a lot prettier when she lit up like that, he thought. What was he thinking now? She was a Gryffindor. Not only were they rival Houses, but they were bound by fate to be mortal enemies. Not that many people remembered Slytherin and Gryffindor had been friends once, or cared to remember. That was irrelevant.

"Well, if they like you for you then it shouldn't matter," he finally added slowly, "right?" He shrugged, and although his composure was disaffected, he seemed to be making an effort to be....understanding? "Personally, I don't think you should be beating yourself up over things that are out of your control. It won't make anything better; it'll just make you worse."

Alex laughed a little, as they moved away from the window and the sun that seemed to be blinding Damon. She was okay with it, but then again. She was special. "Is this better?" She asked stopping a ways away from the window, where a little ledge made a nice seat. She hopped up on it and looked at him.
Merlin, this boy is cute... But in Slytherin.. Buttt.... She tilted her head for a second, just looking at him as her gray eyes lit up once more.

"That could be the problem though, liking me for me..." She sighed a little and shrugged. "When you have my uh.. problem..that is the hardest thing to tell, whether or not it's you they want to be around.. or.. well.." She smiled a little and looked up at him, her eyes twinkling, as she twirled a piece of her blonde hair around a finger. "I guess so, but one day if or when you find out, you will understand the problems I have.." She said with a nod as she looked at him more. She was seriously considering telling him what was going on.. So he would know first hand what she was talking about.

It was seriously confusing to try to sort out a conversation when you were utterly and completely in the dark. On the other hand, Damon didn't want to pry for a few reasons. One of which being that he didn't want the situation to change in an irreparable way. Whatever was going on with her, if he found out, then he felt as though she'd think he was only around because of it. It was a mouthful to come out and say, and a vicious cycle of paranoia to boot. "Much better," he agreed with a smile, taking a seat on the ledge next to her.

"I don't mean to sound cynical here, but most people are going to start talking to you for a superficial reason. Your looks, your status, your wealth. Sometimes curiosity, but it usually has to do with personal wants. But they don't stick around for that, not most of the time. So maybe I talked to you because I thought you were pretty," he added slowly, "that doesn't mean I couldn't get to know you and like you for you. Believe me, I'd be long gone if you had an awful personality." Wasn't that the truth. There were a lot of little idiosyncrasies that peeved him.

Alex smiled as Damon seated himself on the ledge next to her. "I am glad it is much better." She said relaxing a little bit and leaning back against the ledge. It was so weird to talk to someone about her problem, and not have them actually know what it was, but this was all helping her.. a bit really.

Alex nodded more as he started talking, of course they were going to talk to her because of her looks, she was a Veela for crying out loud, it was in her nature to draw them in.. Hopefully her personality could keep them in though. "Well, you do sound cynical, but you are right. Perfectly right,I've lived in wealthy circles, I know what people want are Trophy wives, pure blood and lots of money.." She shook her head, wasn't that what her mother was? Wasn't that why she left?

She smiled at him, "Really? Well I am glad to know I haven't scared you away yet." She said with a smile as she looked over at him.

He laughed hollowly at her words. "Trophy wives, pure blood, and lots of money," he repeated with a wry smile. "Why does it sound like you just summed up my life?" He paused for a moment, catching her eye and smiling. "Merlin, sometimes I wonder if we're doomed to become our parents. I don't want to be him, but he probably never wanted to be his father. And then there's that weight that you have to live up to those expectations and you don't know why, you just do... But I'm digressing. You might not have any idea what I'm harping on about."

He shrugged, smirking now as he raised an eyebrow. "I'm a hard one to scare. I am in Slytherin, after all. Being a Gryffindor....," he let his voice trail off, but it was all in good nature. "I'm not saying that you lot can't be threatening, but Slytherins have really perfected that particular science."

Alex laughed a little as she heard Damon speak, "I don't know why.. but I actually just summed up my life, so I guess we have a bit more in common than we though ehh?" She asked shaking her head more as she heard him start to speak about becoming their parents. "I know what you are talking about, I don't want to be my mother, I don't want to do what she did.. but then again, she didn't ask for... welll.." She trailed off, she almost spilled that her mother was a Veela trophy wife.. Something Alex did not want.

Alex laughed a little more at Damon as he smirked, Merlin why did it seem like all Slytherins had the smirk down, and why did it make her stomach flip when he did that? "Yes I know, we are supposed mortal enemies, but if it makes you feel better, the sorting hat sat on my head for about 5 minutes, hovering between Ravenclaw and Slytherin, and then.. it spat out Gryffindor.. I wasn't pleased, neither was my family.." She could remember how her mother and father had yelled.. "Yes I know.. but I try to be as un threatening as possible.. as well as un Gryffindor.. I have no house pride.." She said with a grin.
