Headmaster Bontecou stood on the highest landing between floors one and two. The water lapped over the top of the stairs, making the marble very slippery. The water level seemed to continue rising and would soon make it to the second floor if they didn't stop it. Hmm... Well, as his mother always said, "When like gives you lemons, Reynard, make lemonade." And that's exactly what he intended to do.

First, he draped a big fluffy beach towel (blue with a bronze eagle, of course) over the railing. Then, he shucked off his shoes and took his wand out of his robe pocket. A quick flick of his wrist across the water turned it bright orange for a moment before it went back to looking as dark and cold as before. Rey stuck a toe in the water and nodded approvingly.

Now, this was the part of his plan that he hadn't quite thought out. He was ready but there weren't any students around.....

Glancing around, she noticed that Paris was dressed in a bathing suit, which meant...gulp...were they going for a swim...in that?

Paris turned to Anna who had just arrived. Hmm, she scooped the Head Girl on something. That was a first. "The Headmaster is letting us go swimming." she told her with a grin on her face. "Want to go." she inched closer to her.

She looked at everyone's faces. You would think the Headmaster suggested they go fight a back of hungry werewolves to something. After what Kazi did to them laster term during their finals you think they had more of a backbone than they did. "Oh a diving board," she breathed as the Headmaster conjured up one. She was totally going on that.

Wandering about as far down in the school as possible, what with the flooding blocking the lowest floors, Elizabeth blinked as she herad voices from near the stairs down. Is that the headmaster?, she thought, slightly confused, and then she heard swimming mentioned. Popping around the corner, she grinned. "Swimming? I'm always up for that." And funnily enough, along with her new tendency of wearing rainboots around school on the odd chance the flooding spread, she had her swimsuit in her bag. She wasn't about to be unprepared and end up looking like a drowned rat again.

Going back down the corridor, she slipped into a bathroom and changed quickly, pulling her uniform skirt back on over the black and silver bikini she had worn the summer before term when she had been home, then returned to the stairs. "I don't need lessons, but I could always help teach or something if necessary," she said then.

"Yes sir." Celandine agreed. "They have brittle fingers so if they grab you, you should do charms and hexes that focus on damaging their fingers. Diffindo is a good one. Relashio will make them let go too. There are others but they don't all work so well underwater so its best to stick with those. Also, if you avoid their horns, you can kick them in the head. It won't hurt them much but it does disorient them."

Cela took her cloak off and held it up. She transfigured it into a fluffy towel and placed it over the rail, gave everyone gathered a little look and poked her wand down her top. Using a switching spell was the easiest way to make sure she was now wearing a bathing suit under her robes.

"Or we could just... change here." Cope averted his eyes from Cela and waved Anna over.

Satine was pumped about the diving board and listened to all of the Headmaster's instructions about the rising water and such. She smiled at him and sweetly said, "Thanks! You RAWK!"

She walked quickly...almost skipping, since you're not supposed to run by a swimming pool... towards the diving board. She couldn't wait to jump into the water. It had been for forever and a day since she had been swimming...well she had been swimming when Bunburry's office flooded, but that wasn't her choice...this was completely her idea. She was def pumped about this swimming idea. What an awesome headmaster they had...

He laughed with good humor at the excitement of the students. He was really looking forward to a good swim, himself. He needed to start training for the triathlon he'd been competing in during the summer, too. "If we have some students who want to teach lessons that would be even better than me teaching, if you don't mind. It'll be a good experience all around," he grinned. "And then I'll get my turn on the diving boards," he winked before removing his robes, revealing the blue competition-style speedo underneath. He tossed the robe over with his towel and then transfigured his glasses into prescription goggles before stepping into the warmed water.

Anna's eyes widened in surprise when Paris confirmed that there were indeed plans to get into the water. Her eyes wrinkled in confusion, though, when Paris asked her if she wanted to come along, as well. The last time she'd been shoulder-deep in this water, she'd barely managed to escape in time. Getting back in now would be just like jumping head first towards death. She glanced nervously around, listening at Cela recalled a few different ways to take on a grindylow. She took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. She could do this. It was for the welfare of the school...so she could do this.

"I'm in," she finally replied. Without saying another word, she turned and dashed away to the Common Room, returning a few moments later wearing her swimsuit. It was then that she noticed the diving board that had no doubt been conjured. It looked fun to try. If nothing else, at least she could venture into the dangerous waters with style. "Hello, Professor Bontecou," she greeted, nodding once towards the man.

Dani had changed and now she was back, eyeing the water like it was the Devil himself come to get her. She was terrified. And now she had no excuse. She really did need to learn how. She moved a little closer to the water. This was not easy at all. Her heart thudded loudly as she stared into the water and then looked out at the other students.

OH MY GOD!

Paris blushed at the choice of bathing suit the Headmaster was wearing. It was a speedo, like Micheal Phelps had warn. But it was different seeing it on the telly an dthen seeing it not 10 feet away from you.

She had never seen anyone that naked before. She had to stifle a giggle and she turned away from the sight. With her cheeks burning.

She followed him into the water however. It was rather warm and she was up to her calves in the water when she felt something float by, she jumped and giggled. She didn't know why she was so jumpy she was going into the water after all.

Plymouth WHISTLED as he came around the corner. "HEADMASTER! You have NICE legs!!!" Clearly the most important thing going on at the moment. A quick assessment of everyone else told Plymouth Morgan that... there was... SWIMMING going on! Bright boy, that Plymouth. Funny that Plymouth didn't find swimming in a hallway weird at all.

He kicked off his shoes and lost his shirt fast as lightning. "SIR. Sir. Make me one of those??? Please??" Plymouth pointed to the Headmaster's VERY COOL swimsuit and then to his jeans. PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE?

If he said no, then Copernicus Kettleburn WAS SO GOING TO.

Torin cast a glance at Reese then decided to head into the water after the Headmaster and some girl he had never met before. The water felt nice. And it was good being able to step into it gradually. Even though there were things floating around in there. Eh.

"Come on Reese," he said turning back towards his friend and grabbing into her hand gently. He smiled at her. "Nothing can go bad with you. I'll make sure if it."

Satine smiled at Celandine...but really wasn't sure how to take her response...I mean was she trying to be mean or was she just nervous about the grindylows...she shook off the worry and figured it was about the grindylows and being nervous..."Well, you do have a good point...this water might be a little bit different...great idea to be constantly vigilant....I'll watch out...Thanks!"

"You okay?," she asked quietly when she got closer to the first year. "We wouldn't be allowed to do this if it was too dangerous. And if you want, you can just go sit on the top step for a while, get used to the water while you're still definitely safe."

"Thank you, Mr. Morgan, though I was really hoping to draw more attention to my abs," he laughed and shook his head, then raised an eyebrow at the boy's request. "Sure, let's see what I can do," he said, pointing his wand at the boy's trousers and then making a funny motion to transfigure them into a jean-colored replica of his own speedo briefs.

ooc: I'll be heading out for a couple hours so, Pepe will just be swimming around. Don't go too wild, but have fun.

William frowned slightly, eying the water as if it would jump out at him and eat him like the boogey monster he used to be scared of back home. Shutting his eyes he gulped and took a breath, holding his wand out just in case. Can never be too careful in these weird times he thought. Stepping up to the edge of the water he dipped his toe in and frowned. Sure it felt nice, even warm but it still felt weird. Going down a few more steps he sat down, his feet floating in the water.

Reese turned to look at Anna when she showed up. If she went in the water with them, that would be so cool! She just stood there looking at Paris and Anna, waiting for Anna to say if she would go in or not. When she said yes, she smiled at her friend. "Oh, yay!" She said as she watched Anna run off to the common room. "Pretty bathing suit," she told Anna when the girl came back from the common room.

Feeling someone grabbing her hand, she turned back to face Torin who was already in the water. She eyed the water and then looked at the Headmaster who had just stepped into the water. Ummmm. "Yeah, you better make sure of that," she told him. She dropped her beach towel on the ground and took one little step into the water.

She had heard a commotion from the above floor as she walked down the staircase, and as much as she'd like to pretend she wasn't curious, Daphne Hopton was. In the end, her legs had carried her towards the crowd and instinctively stopped her nearby Celandine.

Shielding one side of her face to keep from having to look at the Headmaster (and anyone else wearing such small swimming wear), Daphne blushed in silence for a while before speaking. "Should I ask you why you just poked your wand down your shirt?"

Robert looked up as he saw people arriving and talk of swimming his hair and the rest of him soaking wet he didn't see the harm in getting any wetter. Looking around he spotted Liz talking to a first year and pulled off his shirt not really bothering with his pants since the common room was way up on the seventh floor. He placed his stuff with Liz's in the corridor and kicked off his shoes and socks before heading back and walking quietly up behind Liz. With a wink at the first year she was talking to he held a finger in front of his lips. Before he knew Liz would catch on he wrapped his arms tightly around her and headed toward the waters edge.

Karma had gotten wind of the swimming and the lessons provided by the Headmaster, but she stopped dead in her tracks when she saw what he was wearing.

A Speedo. The Headmaster was wearing a Speedo. And now, Plymouth Morgan was wearing one. Oooh la la. AHEM.

Her eyes returned to her normal size as she looked down at her swimsuit, and had her towl over her shoulder. Crossing her arms, she looked around to see who all she knew who was here. Some familiar faces stood out, but she just waited to see if anyone important would.

Squeezing Cope's hand, Celandine offered Satine a little smile and looked at the water again. With a brave little tilt of her chin she stripped off to reveal the swimwear she'd transfigured for herself.

"We are going swimming and I just did a switching spell so I didn't have to run up to the dorm." Celandine explained, tying her hair back into aa braid. "You want to swim?"

Celandine looked at Plymouth for a moment and turned her attention to Copernicus, a speculative expression on her face.
