Lyra strolled down the lane humming a tune. She was curious to what was going on on the grounds and-What's this? "Lookie what we have hereeee," she said with a giggle. It was Mr. Groundskeeper Man. "What'cha got?" Her eyes peeked over the cliff. Long ways downnn. Drama! Always drama!

Constantine watched as one fish that he threw fell the short way and hit the water with a "splash!". Waiting for a reaction, he leaned over and picked another fish up out of the bucket. He was about to toss it in when he heard a voice from behind him. "Fish," he answered, looking over the edge again to see.

"Is that Lyra Noir I hear?" Anna asked, strolling up behind Lyra, then moving to stand alongside her best friend. "Just what have you gotten yourself into now?" She playfully stuck out her tongue, obviously joking around. Even still, when Lyra was around, one could always expect a certain degree of drama to follow. She followed Lyra's gaze over the cliff, then she glanced right back up and caught the eye of the groundskeeper. "Good day, Mister Masteron." Anna once again peered over the edge of the cliff, watching the water and thinking about the flooded parts of the castle.

Herminny was on a peaceful stroll by the lake when she spots a cliff she had not noticed before. She walked up to the peak of the cliff and her eyes widened as she took in the breathtaking veiw of the lake. As she stepped closer toward the edge she saw the groundskeeper throwing fish in the water and thought, What?, but made nothing of it as she stared out at the lake. She felt like she never wanted to leave.

Wandering was the Cullack way of life, or so his mother had told him. Something about getting completely lost in yourself as you walked long distances, forgetting what was going on around you was supposed to be relaxing. He know knew what his mother had really meant; it was a good way of finding out what in the world was interesting. Seriously, the grounds were beginning to bore him now, the same old lake, the same old fighting tree, the same old...

Hello.

What did we have here? surely he never knew about this place or else he would have stayed away from it. What appeared to be a small cliff hung out over the lake, but William wasn't about to find out how far over. Stopping in his tracks, the straw hanging from his lips in shock he stood there like a deer in the headlights amazed and oddly curious.

"Cool..." he muttered, as he shook his head and went to take a few more steps. that was when he noticed an older looking student, possibly Hufflepuff by the looks of her robes. Walking up to stand beside her, he finally noticed the groundskeeper man and nodded politely to him before tilting his head at the older girl and her friend. "Hello!" he said cheerfully, moving the straw from one corner of his mouth to the other.

Dropping another fish in, he looked back to see Anna, another girl, and a male. With a "hello, Anna" and a nod to the others, Constantine returned his gaze to the water. Where in the world was Mr. Henry?

Chris walked across the grounds and noticed a group of students looking over the side of the cliff one of them being Anna. 'Oh God did soemone fall off?' he thought. 'First he has to help pull drowning Professors, house elves, and students out of the water and now this!? Being a Prefect is a lot of work.'

When he approched the edge he sall the groundskeeper was throwing fish into the lake. "Hey Anna what's he doing?" he asked curiously.

"Fish?" Ewwwwwwwwww! "Do you..." she paused as she watched another fish being thrown in. "Need some...BANANA!" She grinned then smirked as the Gryffindor made her little comment. Masterson...Master..sonMasterson! "Yes, Mr. Masssterson!" Now she sounded like that crazy Huffle Prince...whatever his name was.

And then two more people walked up. "Ola!" Okay! So she wanted to pretend that she'd seen the world before with the different ways to say HI!. "Well, we have a cute little Ravieeeee!" Oh how she loveeed Ravenclaw boys who were just cute adorable and just had the squishy cheeks!

William frowned, wanting to stick his tongue out at the girl but stopping himself. Instead he crossed his arms and gazed at Mr. Masterson. "Um, why are you dropping fish into the water? The fishies has feelings you know." he said tilting his head at the man. Before he could say anything else the Gryffindor prefect wandered up to them and he slinked back a bit.

He turned his attention to the Huffie again and said, "I am not cute nor am I small. Okay I'm very short for my age, but I make up for it in other ways." he puffed out his chest and was about to grin before he sneezed. "Excuse me." He blushed. Well there goes his big boy persona he thought.

"Do I need some banana?" He paused in his process of picking up another fish. "Uhm...no, I don't think Mr. Henry likes banana." Constantine chucked another fish into the water. "They're dead," he answered, watching as the water rippled around where it had landed. "And I'm trying to catch something's attention."

"Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha," Anna sarcastically said, making a face at Lyra. She thought she was funny with that little banana remark, eh? She giggled, knowing her best friend meant well, then turned to see that they'd be joined by a few other students.

"Hey there," Anna said, greeting the three that had approached. She shrugged when Chris asked about what the groundskeeper was doing. "I don't really know. I've just come up not too much earlier than you did. He's dropping fish for the squid...I do know that." She glanced back up at the groundskeeper and watched as he continued to drop the fish.

Awww! He has a little tude! Lyra couldn't help but place her hand over giggling sounds that left her mouth. "Okay," she said trying her best to hide her smile but then, what if he wasn't joking? Well, it didn't matter because she was. "Bless you!"

OOPS! And there went the giggles again! She couldn't help but laugh as Mr. Groun-Masterson said something about Bananas and DEAD FISH? She let out a quick "EW!" and walked over to the bucket of fish.

With ONLY TWO FINGERS, she picked up a fish by the slimy gross tail and flicked it over to the water. "OH! We can do that can't we?" Oops! She forgot to ask. "And who's attention are you trying to catch?"

She then noticed that both Gryffindor Prefects were here. "I'm Lyra Noir," she said holding out her hand first for the little Ravie to shake and then to Chris who she'd seen around but never had the pleasure to meet face to face.

Constantine watched with a raised eyebrow as the girl threw in a fish with two fingers. Poor child would never be able to survive outdoors. "I'd much prefer if there was a small, but reasonable, pause between each fish, but yeah," he shrugged, stepping back from the bucket a bit. "I suppose you guys can throw in a few fish."

Wiping his hands on a towel hanging out of his back pocket, Constantine watched the water for any other disruption. "I'm trying to get the squid, Mr. Henry, to come to the surface. I require his assistance."

"Oh!" Willie said a bit too loudly before ducking his head and looking out over the cliff edge. he couldn't fathom what the groundskeeper was trying to get but it must be something cool.

He couldn't help but grin and stood straighter allowing a small chuckle to leave his mouth before watching her pick up a fish and throw it in. "Eww." he crinkled his nose at her before saying, "Name's William Cullack, yours is?" After all his mother had taught him some manners.

Just the that Masterson man said they could all help so he walked over to thee pail and picked up a dead fish. Looking at it he held it close crinkling his nose before making a fishy face. "Well Mr. fishy, have fun." he said before tossing it into the lake and watching it.

Chris smiled at Lyra. "Hello Lyra, I have seen you around. I am Chris Potter Its nice to meet you." he said smiling brightly.

Nice to meet you William and Chris," she smiled as she watched the Ravenclaw throw a fish over the SMALL cliff. This was fun and nice and stress free!

Lyra couldn't help but giggle as that Mr. Masterson was...different. He was quiet and yet...had a sense of humor of his own kind. Small reasonable pause between fish. She grabbed another fish with the same two fingers she dirtied up before and threw in another fish. "That was a small reasonable amount I think."

She then turned. "Mr. Henry? I always wondered what his name was." She then caught him say something else and wondered. "You require his help for what?"

Stepping back from the small cliff, which looked a lot higher to him due to his lame fear of heights , William smiled at Lyra "Nice to meet you too." He replied, a hint of unnerve in his voice now that the weight of the encounter was hitting him. Stepping up a bit close to Lyra he put his hands behind his back, waiting for any ripples in the water. He didn't want ot be near the small cliff when that squid came up. opening a chocolate frog he got from his pocket he popped it into his mouth and chewed.

"Lyra," Anna half-whispered, watching as her friend took it upon herself to grab a fish and toss it into the water below. Hopefully Mister Masterson wouldn't get upset with her for taking one of his fish. He seemed to be an easygoing man, though, so it was probably all good. Nevertheless, Anna didn't dare touch a fish without asking first. Throwing fish for that squid did look rather fun, though. Reluctantly, Anna glanced up at the groundskeeper. "Mister Master, may I throw a fish in, as well?" she asked.

She didn't need to wait for an answer, though, because no sooner had the question left her mouth, the groundskeeper was giving the group his approval. Reaching down and picking up a fish, Anna walked a tiny bit closer to the cliff and glanced down. She watched the water a bit, then chunked her fish high into the air. She watched as it sailed down, then splashed into the water. Well, that was...fun.

She listened as Lyra questioned Mister Masterson's need for the squid's assistance. "Yeah, what for...if you don't mind us asking, that is. Do you think he might be able to give you some answers about the flooding school?" she asked. She hadn't thought about the giant squid when it came to figuring out the whole flood ordeal. Was he involved? Did he have any answers?

Chris also looked to Mr Masterson. Since everyone else was asking questions he decided to ask one too. "Um Mr Masterson when you get the squid's attention how will you communicate with it? Can it speak English?" he asked curiuosly.

He also after Anna threw a fish in , decided to try it. He bent down and picked up a dead fish and flung it to the watery depths. "That was fun!" he said smiling.

Elizabeth wandered out to the grounds, not really feeling like studying and she couldn't find Robert or Mari for once to hang out with them. And as she got closer to the lake, she looked up to see a small group of people up on a cliff and headed up there. Hearing a comment about getting the giant squid's attention, she tilted her head to one side curiously and then spoke, almost without thinking. "My cousin told me once that when she was at Hogwarts, Professor Lainey had taken them out into the lake to get the squid's attention." But, if Mr. Masterson wanted to try this way, she guessed there wasn't really any reason to question him.

"All I want him for is to ask him for a little help. I need him to check something, that's all." Constantine folded his arms across his chest as he watched the kids, one by one, throw the fish into the lake. Bartholomew was close, he just knew he was.

Chris laughed. "Oops that was a stupid question! Sorry." he then looked back to the water to wait for the Squid.

"Ahh, I see," Anna simply replied, then bent down to retrieve another fish. Where was this thing...and why wasn't it hungry? If she were a squid and were being fed a seemingly endless supply of fish, she'd definitely come up and enjoy the feast, for sure. Once again, she tossed the fish high into the air and watched as it splashed into the water below. She leaned over a little more and searched the water for any sign of the squid below. "Yo, Bartholemew!" she called out, then stood up straight and gave the groundskeeper a joking look. On that note, she picked up another fish and sent it, too, sailing over the cliff.

Elizabeth felt terrible as Mr. Masterson responded to her, and as she glanced around at everyone else, she tried to figure out if she could do anything. Obviously throwing the fish alone wasn't doing the trick. And she now knew the squid spoke English, due to the semi-hilarious response the Gryffindor prefect had gotten.

And then Anna called out to the squid, and she smiled a little. Maybe that would work. Reaching over to get a fish, she tossed it over into the water, and then knelt down near the edge. Close enough that she could look over, but not enough that she'd be at risk of falling. Looking over the edge, she spoke gently, loud enough that her voice would carry, and yet not yelling. "Bartholemew? Mr. Henry?," she said. "Can you please come up and talk to us? Mr. Masterson just needs to ask you for a little favor, and then we'll stop bugging you." Something told her this whole thing had to do with the flooding, which needed to be solved. And maybe being polite to the squid would help.
