"Paris?" Clifford asked, one eyebrow raising out of curiousity. By Paris did he mean THE Paris? Paris Greenwood? He didn't know of any other Paris' so he figured as much. So Theo thought girls called Paris were especially mean? Hmmm. "What did Paris do? She doesn't pick on you, does she?" He couldn't imagine Paris doing that.. but it was his job as Head Boy to uncover the truth. Hmpf.

Nancy laughed at April's comment on having a younger brother before saying, "Oh, really? What's wrong with having a younger brother?" She'd heard that having younger brothers or sisters wasn't always pleasant, she'd always wanted an older brother, though, anyways. Well, that was one thing that certainly wasn't going to happen. Unless she had a brother she didn't know of, which was highly unlikely, though. Her eyebrows shot up slightly upon hearing what April said next. "Oh, uhm...why not?" She immediately wanted to stuff the words back into her mouth as soon as they were out, though. "I mean...sorry, if you don't want to tell me, that's uhm fine as well. Sorry."

In search for something or somebody to look at to hide her embarrassment due to her prior rudeness Nancy glanced up and down the Slytherin table. It was one of those moments anything was more interesting than the person next to you so as her eyes fell on an older Slytherin boy smiling Nancy immediately grinned back at him. Oooh...hopefully the Headmaster's speech would start soon. Or hopefully Steven would be his normal self again soon. What was it with that Gryffindor boy anyway?!

Theo looked at Eddie on his goblet. "Paris was a meanie. She got a boyfriend. Who is alot bigger than." He shook his head, "She doesn't pick on me. She is just a really big meanie. And I don't like her."

Ooooh, so THAT was what this was about. Theo had gotten himself a little crush on Paris and Paris had a boyfriend! Clifford wasn't the world's greatest expert on these things, but he wanted to help poor Theo. "You just have to keep being her friend," the seventh year stated simply, "keep being her friend, and being nice to her and stuff - make her realise what she's missing," he finished with a wink.

April shook her head. She was the one that had said she hadn't seen him after all, but she didn't feel like explaining it. "He kinda got separated from me and our mum quite a few years ago, I haven't seen him since then. I'm hoping he'll be able to come to Hogwarts next year but... I don't know." She said. April took a drink from the goblet in front of her before looking back at Nancy. "What are lessons like?" April asked, only slightly obviously changing the subject. "Will they be hard? I know some magic from what my mum taught me, but I don't think it'll be any use. I've not read all the books yet either..." April said, wondering if she should have. She hadn't had time to at home.

"But she is a meanie. I don't want to be friends," Theo frowned. "She makes me feel sad." He looked down at his empty plate. Paris was a big poo-poo head. Even more than Nia. "I am always nice to her. And she is the meanie. I don't want to be her friend, ever ever again."

Carefully glancing back at April Nancy heaved a sigh of relief as she saw the girl shaking her head. Phew. So she wasn't taken aback by her question or anything. Or if she was, at least she wasn't showing it. "Oh." Was all Nancy managed to say at April's little explanation and it took a lot of effort to restrain herself from inquiring the girl any further on the subject. None of your business, none of your business. Nancy was telling herself that a lot lately she realized with a small start. Since when was she that keen on interfering in other people's problems?!

It was quite obvious that April had intentionally changed the subject by asking about the lessons at Hogwarts which Nancy was quite grateful about. That way there wouldn't be the temptation to want to intrude in the girl's personal life. "The lessons? Oh, they're great. Most of them at least. Of course there are some which are...not that interesting." She gave the girl a small smirk and a pointed look before continuing, "Oh no. I'm sure you'll be fine. The professors are very nice and helpful." Most of them at least.

luke rested his chin on his arms as he put them on the table in boredm. clearly he was starting to look like some on the 7th years. boring and layed back.
As he looked around he caught the eye of the girl sitting next to him
She smiled at him politely and he returned it.
She was very pretty but a little bit younger than himself. Luke Sat up and said leaning over to her and trying to speek over the noise of the others in the room
"Hi, Names Lukus or Luke whichever you prefer ha" he said laughing

Ah, his big boy advice clearly wasn't working and Clifford tilted his head to one side in thought. He really couldn't see Paris being mean to Theo, but if that's what he said ...

"Well, you should just forget about her then," he tried with a nod of his head. "You don't want to be friends with a meanie that makes you sad. There are lots of other people that will be your friend. I'm your friend!" Hehe.

Theo frowned. He didn't want to forget about her. He liked her lots. But she had been a meanie. Well she hadn't really been a meanie. She had run away from him. "Her brother is my bestest friend ever. I can't forget about her." He smiled and nodded, "You are my friend?"

Sydney stared at Lyra for a moment with her big blue eyes..."I am glad you remember me.." Sydney said smiling. "You look scared Lyra, does this have to do something with the goblet?" She said pointing at the shiny goblet peering from Lyra's bag. "umm I did see you putting it in your bag but I won't tell anyone.." She said smiling sympathetically.


"Hi, Natasha! I am Sydney" she smiled back at her. "Oh yes, i am a firstie & what about you?" she asked. Sydney felt her stomach grumbling, she glanced at the table & was in awe! The table was loaded with scrumptious delights. "The food looks great!" She said grinning at Natasha while plopping some pudding on her plate.

April was glad to hear that the professors would be nice. Her mum hadn't said much about the professors or lessons besides 'they're full uppity know it all's and total teacher's pets', something that April rolled her eyes at. "Well that's good. Have you ever been to a muggle school before? They're kind of... rubbish I guess. Half the kids run around throwing stuff at each other, swearing and playing loud rubbish music on their phones. The teachers are rubbish too, half the time they can't control the class and all the lessons are boring, not just some." She smiled. "I'm quite excited about lessons, I just don't want them to be really like... difficult." April was talking a bit more now than at first, now she'd warmed up to this Nancy person.

Slightly startled due to the sudden boy's voice next to her apparently addressing her Nancy jerked her head into the direction the boy had spoken from and found herself face to face with the boy she'd just smiled at to escape the awkward situation she had maneuvered herself in with April. With a smile on her lips Nancy leaned over Steven to be able to hear and speak to the other boy properly. "Hey Luke. Nice to meet you. I'm Nancy." Then just to keep the small-talk up and because she couldn't think of anything more original to say she added, "So, what year are you in?" Yes, very creative but whatever.

With a sideward glance at Steven Nancy bit her lip upon seeing that he apparently wasn't feeling any better. Whatever was wrong with him. And exactly that was the thing she wanted to know. Why was he behaving that strangely, glaring at the Gryffindor table and stuff? Couldn't the Headmaster just get going with that speech of his so that she could drag her friend somewhere around the castle to inquiry what was going on?!

A Muggle School?! A quite shocked expression flashed across Nancy's face at April's question about Muggle schools. "No, of course not!" She exclaimed shaking her head slightly in how absurd the idea of her attending a Muggle School was. "Have you?" The description of one of those schools April provided a moment later only confirmed Nancy's point of view of Muggle Schools. They were horrible. Just horrible. How could somebody survive going there?! Hogwarts was just soooooooo much better. Hehe... "Oh, I assure you, they're not that difficult." Unless you don't know the difference between a Mandrake and daisy. But that was just her.

Lucas found a spot at the Slytherin table, looking around to see if there was anybody he recognized but so far there wasnt anyone. He was already going into his fifth year at Hogwarts but still it seemed like there wasnt very many people he actually new. He knew alot of people in his first year but it seemed as time went on he grew farther and farther away from everyone.

Lucas sat down and pushing his brown hair out of his eyes with his hand, and continued to glance around. Even though he didnt have many friends anymore, he was still glad to be back at Hogwarts. He had spend more of his last four year here than at home, and now Hogwarts was his home.

Her brother was Theo's bestest friend ever!? Okay, well that made things even MORE complicated than they apparently already were. Poor Theo.. Clifford didn't really know what to suggest. Giving advice clearly wasn't one of his strongest points. "Sure I'm your friend!" He exclaimed with a nod. "We're buddies! And if you want, I'll talk to Paris for you," cause that's what buddies did, right?

"You'll talk her?" Theo frowned. Did he want that to happen? Sounded good. Maybe he would ask why she was being a meanie. He nodded, "Ok. Thank you, Mr Clifford. I can't help you with anything though. I can't do anything. Unless you need help eating mashed potato."

"I'm almost positive, I have no magical family members. The only one I'm aware of is my moms sister in law, which is her brothers wife. All we can do is wait for this summer, if nothing else shows up, and hope that she gets the letter." he finishes with a shrug of his shoulders.

Seeing her start to get upset when talking about her cousin Hollis, he wonders what happened to him, other than being a werewolf. Or maybe that is what is upsetting her...hmmm. Gently he says "Being a werewolf, isn't always a bad thing, as long as you can take the Wolfsbane potion, you can live a normal life." Pushing his plate a little ways from him he continues. "One of my best friends is a werewolf actually."

I can understand why. he thinks with a grin. "Well hopefully he will learn I'm not going to hurt you, and he and I can become friends too."

Looking up to the staff table, he wonders why they haven't been excused yet.

Kevin limped back over to the slytherin table from chatting to Risa at the Ravenclaw table he knew that he would have to chat to Mariel and Lasca soon and he knew they would ask him questions about his leg

That was settled then? Clifford would ask Paris why she was being a meaniehead and making Theo sad. YAY! "Don't worry, I'm doing this because I'm your friend, not because I want something back," he smiled, gulping down more pumpkin juice. Not a good idea considering he was desperate to pee. Eh. "And if you touch my mashed potato, I'll have to bite your hand off."

"Hopefully we'll see her next year, that would be nice. Unless she goes to another school...the parents have the final say most of the time. There are lots of other good schools too. I just hope that her twin doesn't feel too badly about it if the other gets accepted." Lettie looked up at the staff table and spotted the nice healer talking with some other people, then she saw the Headmaster. Wait, did he give his welcoming speech yet?

"He can't really live a normal life, he doesn't have one anymore." Lettie said and ate a spoonful of pudding. "He died several months after being away, some girl killed him when he lost control from what I understand." She shrugged and scratched Ornlu behind his dark brown ear. Hearing the feline purr made her a little happier. "But that happened a while ago. And I don't understand. He had been doing so well, he sent family notes every week to let us know what was going on...and then they just stopped, and the next thing my aunt and uncle and Felix knew they were asked to meet the ones responsible for being in charge."
Leticia sighed and calmed herself as Ornlu licked her swollen hand with his sandpaper tongue. "How old is your best friend?"

"He's usually good." She continued and looked at the cat who was starting to fall asleep. "He just has his moments, like the rest of us." Lettie thought of something for a moment, "Did I tell you what happened with my potions experiment at home?" She had told Kevin, Raven and Samantha she thought, but not Ott.

With a laugh "If I have anything to say about it, she'll come to the school. I'm sure if I feel this is a good school unlike Svensvort, they'll take it into consideration, considering I'm here too."

His eyes growing, as she explains what happened to Hollister, they turn to sympathy. "I'm so sorry. I can't imagine, having that happen in my own family. That had to have been hard." he says quietly.

Jean Pierre, is 16 now. He was bitten when he was 8, and has learned to live with it. He lives in southern France actually. He had come up to Norway for a fishing holiday one summer, and I had met him, when I went in to market with my father, when I was 9. For years I never even knew, he was a werewolf. With a wry grin, he adds "Needless to say, I wasn't as thrilled, and a bit nervous. But I realized that he has it under control, since I had known him since even after he had got bitten.

Looking up at her again, he looks interested, "No I don't believe you have told me about what happened with your potions experiment."

Lucas stretched out and slouched in his chair a little bit, trying to relax a little more. Reaching over he reached over and grab a cup of pumpkin juice that was infront of him, gulping down almost half the cup he put it back down on the table.

Lucas then reached into his pocket and pulled out an envolope that had two little stick men drawings on it. An arrow pointed to the little stickman that said 'Marcus' and the taller stickman had an arrow that said 'Lucas' The letters were ranged in all different sizes from small to big.

A small smile crept its way onto Lucas' face as he looked down at the envelope. Slowly he pealed it open and took all the letter. The letter was written in crayon, and was extremely messy.

Lucas read the note and a large smile played its way onto his face.

"My mom said her first magic was creating flowers at Ollivander's but when I said it wasnt in count, she said nothing. My dad did burn his notebook though, at History! He was showing a spell to his friend when they saw a faint smoke. Shame he never told me what spell it was..." Grace shook her head as if she didnt approve.
"Haha. My dad is at International Cooperation. He wasnt from those shiny students and he chose the easiest. It's nice though, we can visit any country we want." Grace thought for a while. "Muggle lifestyle isnt that bad once you get used to, we still use car, computer and telephone..."

"That way she'll cling to you the entire time, and never give you a moments peace." Lettie smirked and imagined what it might have been like if she and Olivier had gone to school at the same time and place...not good. "I really didn't have the problem of non-magical people in my family. Since I'm half blood, a lot of my family is too. Aside from one of my uncles, he's a muggle." The sibling rivalry in muggle families must be insane.

"To be honest, I think when Hollis' family heard the news they weren't as shocked as most people would be. They knew it was dangerous going there, and that it could harm him. I just don't think they expected it to happen the way it did. I know Felix took it really hard, since Hollis was his younger brother. It had to sink in first." She shrugged and prodded her hand again before looking across the Great Hall and noticing that the Ricco boy wasn't around. "That Hufflepuff must be in the detention room now. I don't see him around."

"Well, I'd be nervous too, that's just the natural way to react to something that is potentially harmful. It's good that you two befriended one another though." Leticia nodded and watched Ornlu stretch out again.

"The last time that I played around with potions was last summer. I had taken my cauldron into the pantry so that nobody could knock it over and so that I could work in peace." She smiled a bit, "Apparently, I had upset it somehow with something or whatever. The cauldron started to overflow, I completely freaked out and ran out of the room and locked the door behind me. Turns out that the potion turned purple and overflowed. It stained the walls purple and even after my parents got rid of the stuff, some of the weird color is still in the room. Anyway, that's the last time I ever practiced with that stuff." Lettie grinned, almost like she was proud of herself.

"That's true...not as easy if we're not in the same house, though. I can't picture her in this house." he says with a chuckle. "Too much of a goody-goody kind of kid."

Nodding, "I can see that. But no matter how he was killed, it would be a shock. It's sad to see anyone die so early." smiling he replies "I'm glad that he and I did become friends, and stayed friends even after I found out. He's a great guy."

Bursting into laughter he grins at her, "I guess that's one way to paint a room, a bit more to clean up, however."
