"The adults are unaware of the Headmaster's whereabouts. They've grown quite accustomed to his ability to get lost inside the Castle," she said and shook her head. "Just help us look for him."

EEEEEEK. *gulp*

"It isn't?" he asked surprised. It sure tasted good enough to be a sweet of sorts, albeit a little too slimey. No matter, Varius didn't mind so long as he didn't make himself ill with the stuff! Or maybe that had been Cela's plan all along-- Make Varius ill so she can have the 'best kisser' title forevasss! Well nu uh girlfriend, you better watch your back!

Vaius nodded, "I think she would like the lake... I mean she is in a place where water is rather a necessity... and that's by choice." He was really glad he had owled Celandine now. She was awesome at being all girly and advice-giving.

"Myrtle is awesome," Varius blushed, "And Professor Bunbury is very awesome as well... I like her red hair."

"I'm sure he'll turn up somewhere... we'll keep a look out and if we find anything we shall let you know? We're bound to find one of you ghosts in the Great Hall or common room, right?"

"Yes Ma'am, whatever you say." Celandine nodded politely. She liked the headmaster, he was pretty cool so she'd keep an eye out.

"It isn't." Cela didn't bother to tell him that she only got the lipgloss on account of it's sweeeeet candy flavour in the first place, she was being all mature and example-y after all.

"You are so right." Celandine agreed. The greenhouses totally DID need water, and Bunbury totally DID choose to be there." Cela leaned against the wall. "Myrtle is a Ravenclaw." Celandine smiled, clearly meaning 'of course she's awesome'. "I wish I had hair like Professor Bunbury. I mean, mine is totally nice and shiny and everything, but hers is so... red." Blue would be better. Ravenclaw colours.

"Kitchen?" Celandine suggested.

Varius was thrilled and that was an understatement. He had been sure he would have to have gone through some ridicule for falling for a ghost, but Celandine seemed excited by the idea! Confirming even more to Varius that he most definitely had made the right choice in owling her.

Nodding enthusiastically, he reached out and tickled the little pair on the portrait. The passageway to the kitchen revealed itself and Varius held out his arm for Celandine to link with if she was so inclined (girls liked that too, right? To be all clingy on boys' arms). "I just hope they have enough... flour that is."

Celandine linked arms with Varius, bouncing a little as the portrait did it's thing. Hogwarts still amazed and excited her, especially when she thought about how they might never have ever gotten to come here. "What kind of flower? Does it matter?" Celandine asked as they walked into the kitchen.

"Thank you, children," the Grey Lady said softly and she floated through one of the walls, thus vanishing from the corridor.

SMAAAACK!

Vindictus landed belly-first on the cold, hard paving stones of the kitchen corridor. "Ouuuch!" he moaned and rolled over onto his back. He could hear a sizzling sound and the smell.... "What in Merlin's great hairy wart were you brewing, Valon? It just fried a brand spanking new broomstick!"

Miranda was just walking through the corridor, heading for the common room to read the latest Quidditch announcements, when suddenly something flew across the way like a bird on fire!
"Whaaaaaa !!" Miranda shrieked and came to a full stop, her eyes widening at the body on the floor. It was the professor!

"Ohmygosh! Professor Vindictus!" Miranda scurried over to him and stood there gaping. After a moment she reached out her hand for him to take. "Are you allright, sir?" The professor was twice...or maybe three times as tall as the hufflepuff, but she couldnt just stand there not helping. "What happe-" Wait...there are more important questions... "What is that smell!?" Miranda grimaced, putting her other hand over her nose and mouth. It smelled like something a pet would discard and that weird experiment his brother took with him to show-and-tell at school.

Poor, poor broomstick...

Professor Kazimeriz galluphed up the stairs awkwardly, counting heads to see that all professors got away from the waters safely.

He grimaced, cringing inwardly at being addressed by his first name-- even if he was coming to see Vindictus as less of a former-student and more as an esteemed colleague who ruled with a hand as hard as his own.

"Poisons." Kazimeriz said, sighing as he thought about what might have caused the broom's fate. " Hmm. The mimbulus mimbletonia in one of my solutions should not have come in contact with the runespoor venom that was an ingredient in another cauldron... The two combined must have bound to oils from the dungeon sconces when the water reached that height, causing a film of corrosive material on the top of the water. It should neutralize itself, Merlin willing, thanks to the sopophorous beans... I am just grateful that the students got out before the waters reached that height." They had dodged a stunner there, for sure.

He looked around anxiously. "Did everyone make it out alright?"

"Yeah it should neutralize itself in just how long, Kazimeriz?" Bunbunz grumbled, puttering into the kitchen corridor as her broom had somehow just...lost the will to fly. Stupid water, getting in the tail twigs. At least hers wasn't fried like Vindictus' was.

She stepped off the broom and the minute she dismounted the thing just fell to the floor with a dull clatter. "Would you look at that. Potions and flying, coming together at last."

A sarcastic Annie wasn't a happy Annie. She hadn't found a solution to the stupid water problem and it was bothering her.

Kazimeriz found himself buoyed by Bunbury's sharp tongue and acerbic attitude. He smirked at her. "Now, Professor, as a herbologist you are no doubt adept at potions as well... and you should know that the application of Golpalott's laws and the Elemental Exclusion Principle make it absolutely impossible to state specifically when it might wear off, given the conditions. Be grateful it wasn't your broom... or your robes... or your feet... that dissolved." Kazimeriz shot her a nasty yet somehow bemused look. "We need to reassess the situation; the water is obviously not responding to standard spells. Where the devil is Lawson?"

"Your poisons destroyed a brand new racing broom! And here I did you a favor by rescuing sealed jars of potion ingredients," Vindictus griped to no one in particular rather loudly as he got back onto his feet. "I should go break that teapot and burn those books I saved so that we're even." He looked around to see if everyone did make it, and noticed sizzling holes in the back of Annie's robes. "Erm, Annie. You're holey."

As quiet as he wanted to be while sneaking through the hallways, his sandels protested against such stealth with every step. A chorus of "Flip-flop, flip-flop" preceded his appearence in the corridor leading to the kitchen.

Looking over his shoulder to make sure Krissy was keeping up, Helios, the boy with the sunshine in his hair, clutched a dusty old book close to his chest. It was rare to even see him carrying his school books, one would wonder what could be in the dusty old tome that made him care so much.

Krissy walked quietly behind her prince. finally she had to ask, "Where in blue blazes are yeh taking me lad? what is the big secret?" she whispered. Refusing to walk any further until he answered Krissy stopped and tapped her foot. Even with her short stature she was a force to be reckoned with.

"Keep your shirt on old man, I'm here." Marcus strolled up to the group of Professor's his hands deep in his pockets as usual, an unfazed look on his face. He looked over at Annie and smirked. "Looking as spiffy as usual Anastasia."

He looked down at himself and noticed with glee that he had not been affected at all. "Well that didn't go very well did it?" he remarked casually.

"It wouldn't be much of a surprise if I--" While the Irish girls attitude was enough to give him pause, something else had caught his eye. The saliva in his mouth quickly evaporated with his courage. Stopping mid-step, the young prince seriously considered turning tail and heading back whence he came.

He had been keeping a low profile as to avoid serving out his punishment. Even with the dungeons flooded, he knew they would find somewhere to lock him up away from the other students. Away from Krissy. And that thought was unthinkable, even though that was exactly what he was thinking.

"--uh. I, um...this can't be good."

Krissy looked in the direction Helios glanced. "Oh tis professor Lawson" Krissy flushed and beamed. "I should show him me new holsters!" She giggled and then looked at Helios trying to regain her composure. "Um... oh yes. Now tell me what is going on. What is it? Why are yeh looking all nervous suddenly?" Krissy shook her head at her fiance feeling rather confused.

Helios had his eyes full of his own fear to notice the way Krissy's looked at professor Lawson.

Composure. Better get some fast. Couldn't let his lady see him sweat. "Look.."

Glancing over his shoulder, Helios leaned against the wall, trying to make himself a less obvious target. "I had a cook book delivered to me from the library in Alexandria. I wanted to share it with the house elves. And I--" This time he only pretended to be distracted by the professors down the hall, where in reality, he just couldn't bring himself to admit that he did something as feminine as cooking. And enjoyed it.

Krissy's eyes widened when she looked at the ancient tome. "Oh Helios that is jest so sweet!" God she loved this boy. "I do hope once we're married we can borrow this again. I love to cook! I bet yeh would even enjoy it if yeh give it a chance." Her pleasure glistened in her eyes. Looking up at the boy the adoration colored her cheeks. "I'm so glad to hear yeh are nice to the house elves." forgetting her pleasure at seeing professor Lawson, she only had eyes for Helios at that moment.

Memehmehmehemeeee I have more wrinkles than a pug, meheheheemee, Annie mimicked Kazimeriz in her head, glaring at him since she knew, of course, that he was right. For a senile old man he sure was sharp about potions.

"I wonder if the water would have been more responsive to conventional spells had your potions not mixed in with the flooding," the redhead mused aloud, staring a spot over Kazimeriz's shoulder instead of mumbling at him. "Maybe we should try....soaking it up with something...." Something that could neutralize the potential poisons as well....

Speaking of smells, there was a rotten egg right there. "Shut it, Marcus," the redhead growled, turning in frantic circles as her robes slowly disintegrated from back to front. And she didn't even have anything particularly nice on today, just an ordinary tight black shirt and jeans tucked into her boots! UGH! Worst day ever to lose your robes. Especially in front of students.

"What are they doing down here?" Bunbury jerked her head toward the Hufflepuff and Gryffindor gawking at them. Merlin, if they were staring at the pathetic state of her robes she was going to strangle someone, and that someone would probably be Lawson.

"Compose yourself, girl." Helios tried his best not to smile at his girls affections, but it was like telling the sun not to shine. In the summer. He even allowed himself to laugh a little bit. Much unlike his normal self.

Forgetting about the professors for a moment, he handed the book off to her carefully. As ancient as it was, it was still bound together nicely, the words 'To Serve Man' (It's a cook book! AHH!!!) clearly written on the cover. "I can cook quite an impressive meal myself, actually. Can't survive all summer off chocolate frogs."

"Ooh someone's a little testy this evening. What's the matter Annie? Is there are a hair out of place or did you break a fingernail?" He couldn't help but laugh at her, stupid trumped up little...

Marcus watched as she twirled around and around and he couldn't help but think she looked like a dog running around after its tail. "Hold still Annie, your robes are on fire." He raised his wand and cast a silent water charm at her robes and then couldn't resist hitting her in the face as well.

Anastasia opened her mouth to respond to that smartfart Lawson.....and received an icy cold, COMPLETELY UNCALLED FOR drink of water...in the face....and all down her robes, to her boots, her precious Prada boots ---- waterproof, of course. BUT STILL! Now they were wet!

"YYYOUuUUuuuu," the redhead sputtered, blinking droplets of water out of her eyelashes in anger. She took one menacing step toward Marcus and nearly slipped on the water pooling there, courtesy of his spell. Annie had to put one steadying hand on the wall for support and resorted to glaring at him as if she could just melt his brain with her eyes. "Tthat was unnnnecesssshary, you DOLT!"

Now she was freezing cold, robeless, and stranded in a flipping corridor with a jock, a geezer, a jerk and two interrupting students. "ARE WE DONE HERE?!" Bunbury barked at Kazimeriz. Merlin knew she was.

Krissy smiled. "Oh sorry, still getting used to you acknowledging me presence." Looking down at the book she tensed a little "Jest so yeh know I won't be jest serving yeh...since yeh claim to be able to cook yeh shall be serving me as well." She winked and composed herself.
Seeing the professor get doused with water Krissy looked over at Helios. "Perhaps our little endeavor should wait? No need to umm...further agitate this situation." she looked nervously toward the professors. She would hate for Professor Lawson to think less of her, he was her new favorite teacher.

"Oooops...my bad." He covered his mouth so that he wouldn't burst out laughing. The look on her face was absolutely priceless. She had gone from looking like a dog chasing it's tail to a drowned rat.

Marcus lent back against the wall and continued to chuckle, he just couldn't help himself. The woman was so highly strung and so easy to annoy. If she wasn't such a horrible woman, he probably would have offered her his robe but yeah...nah!!!
