Kayla made her way into the Prefect's room and took a good look around. Oooh now this was worth being a Prefect. Oh how nice it was to find a place without the rest of the school students being able to butt in, a place of peace and tranquilty...oh yes she was going to come in here quite often.

Rachel walked in, eyes wide as she took in the magnificent decorations in the room. Wow, I like this room! She smiled as she stepped further in, then jumped as she saw that she wasn't the only one there. Judging from the colour of her badge and tie, she must be the female Hufflepuff prefect.
"Hello," Rachel greeted her with a smile, finished with staring at all the cool artifacts in the room. She suddenly felt nervous as she realised that most of these prefects had the job for quite a while now.

Kayla turned at the sound of a female voice and noticing the robes, she smiled at the young Ravenclaw. "Hello" she replied and then waving her hand around, gesturing towards the room. "Pretty cool isn't it? I think I can see myself coming in here quite often."

She cocked her head to the side as she observed the girl in front of her. "Nervous about being a Prefect?" Kayla gave her a genuine smile. "So am I to be honest. Oh where are my manners" she stepped forward and extended her hand forward. "My name is Kayla Winters and as you can see...I'm in Hufflepuff."

You seem to hear a soft, echoing sound coming from one of the taps in the corner of the room. If you take a step closer to the tap, you'll notice that it's getting louder....and louder....and louder, until the echoing sound is clearly one long, loud, heart-wrenching moan.

Hmm, who - or what - could possibly be making such a lonesome sound? And how is the sound coming from inside the facet? Turn it on and maybe you'll see.

Cale burst through the room dying to take a nice long bath. "Ahhhh...shower ti-" He paused two steps inside the door. There were girls in here. Girls relaxing and lounging around. So much for his nice long bath!

"Hiya girlies!" He said waving his towel around. He recongnized Rachel, his fellow Claw prefect and gave her an extra wave. "Working on something are you?" That's it, he thought putting a big dumb smile on his face. Change the subject. They don't need to know you were planning on taking a big bubbly bubble bath. Bubble bath's were so not manly.

A golly offal howl filled the room and some noise from the pipes and Cale jumped, dropping his towel on the floor. "Oye, never heard that before have either of you?" He asked slinking over to the sink. He looked the facet over and then pulled his wand out and started tapping it. "Oye! Stop that!" Cale figured it was air in the pipes, but he was the LAST person in the world who knew anything about plumping. He figured the banging would wiggle the air bubbles loose.

Kayla turned slowly at the mourning wail coming from the far sink and she made her way over to it. It sounded like a girl to her but she couldn't see anyone, she turned to Rachel and shrugged before turning back to the sink. The poor girl sounded like she was in so much pain and Kayla, for some reason wanted to help her. She opened her mouth to speak when the door of the bathroom burst open.

Kayla watched as the Ravenclaw Prefect Cale, came bounding in and she stifled a giggle at his reaction to seeing her and Rachel in here. "Hello Cale" she said watching him. And then he too seemed to hear the wailing and he made his way over to the sink and began hitting the tap with his wand. Kayla, grabbed his hand to stop him. "I somehow don't think that's going to do it" she giggled. She turned back to the sink and turned the tap on by hand but nothing came out.

The moaning sound only increased in volume when the bubble-bath-loving Prefect poked the tap with his wand. He was only making it worse.

"BOOOO HOO HOO!" came a whiny voice from within. "I shan't stop til YOU stop poking my tap!"

Well at least one of the Prefects had some normal, common sense. When the Hufflepuff turned on the facet, and after a brief, dramatic pause in which nothing happened, Myrtle had no choice but to come flooding out, floating along on the stream of water that threatened to overflow the sink.

She floated up out of the sink and turned to float upside down, blinking through her spectacles at the two girls and boy standing there as if dumbfounded.

"Oooh, Preeeeeefects," Myrtle simpered at the group. "Come to take a nice, warm, bubbly bath in my loo?" She directed this query to the boy, giggling at him for a moment before turning right-side up and flying right through him.

Kayla took a few steps back as the ghost came out of the tap and she snickered as Myrtle asked Cale about taking a bath in her loo. She leaned up against the wall and folded her arms across her chest. "Hello Myrtle" she said watching the floating spectre eyeing the Ravenclaw. "What has got you so upset today?"

"I'm not upseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettt!" Myrtle flipped right way up and upside down again before floating through the girl and perching on the side of the bath.

"I'm just making friends. But nobody wants to be friends with meeeeeee." She covered her eyes and peeked through her transparent hands to see if any of the prefects were planning on comforting her.

Kayla felt a slight chill run up her spine as Myrtle decided to go through her. It wasn't great but it wasn't that bad either and she simply shook it off.

She had to smile at Myrle's antics. "Of course I want to be friends with you Myrtle. You're smart, pretty and the best ghost in the castle" she complimented, looking at the ghost. "What would you like to do Myrtle?" Kayla asked and was thankful it wasn't Peeves.

Myrtle dropped her hands, all pretense gone, "You think I'm smart and pretty and the best ghost in the castle?" she repeated, "Oh I suppose I am but boys never say that to me." she covered her eyes again and offered up a half-hearted little wail.

What would Myrtle like to do? She looked up and blinked owlishly at the Hufflepuff for a few moments before an idea occurred to her, "I would like to have a paaaaaarty."

She floated slightly to one side, "In here."

She wooshed over to the taps and sat in the basin, "No other ghosts."

"Of course you are" Kayla said. "And quite frankly boys can be stupid at times." Oh wasn't that the truth. She watched Myrtle for a moment and she could tell that the ghost was starting to lighten up a little.

"A party?" she echoed. "Sounds like fun but you know only the Prefects are allowed in here and it won't be much of a party with only eight of us. Unless of course you wanted a small and intimate gathering?" Kayla looked around the bathroom, well that would be a new one for Hogwarts...a bathroom party!!!

"Prefects only." Myrtle agreed in her whiny little voice. She thought for a moment, "And then all of the prefects can tell everyone all about how I'm smart and pretty and the best ghost in the castle."

Then she'd have a posse. Of prefects. Against peeves.

Because Myrtle was so innocent and nice and deserved to have a party.

"Then we can have a bigger party and you can bring boys that might be nice to me."

Or she'd flood the school.

"Okay then, I'll let the others know" Kayla pushed off the wall and she heard the rest of what Myrtle said. "Oh...yes...of course. I'm sure they'll be thrilled to tell everyone how great you are" she must remember to talk to the others about Myrtle.

"Oh most definitely" Kayla agreed. "We can't have a party without lots of boys. They're just going to simply love you." Hmm...wonder how many she could bribe?

"We need decorations. And fooooooooood."

Never mind that Myrtle technically couldn't eat any of it.

"Yoooou are in charge of guests. I've never had a party before." Myrtle swooped around the room and wailed a little out of habit.

"Decorations definitely" Kayla agreed. "But isn't it a little unhygienic to have food in a bathroom?" She glanced at the toilets for a moment before looking back at Myrtle.

Actually neither had Kayla, but she wasn't about to tell her that. "Okay I'll let all the Prefects know" she looked over at the two Ravvie's. "Well Ravenclaw, is taken care of" she commented.

"Oh really?" he asked trying to shake his hand loose from hers. She dropped it a second later to turn on the facet. "And you honestly think that'll help?"
Cale jumped back a step grabbing hold of Kayla's shoulder. "Oye!" he said pointing at the face with his wand. "It talks!" Cale blinked a few times and then looked back at Rachel who was being rather quiet.

Myrtle came floating out of the facet and the noise just seemed to get worse. Cale poked a finger in his ear and rubbed it a little as she asked him about his bath. He let go of Kayla's shoulder and tossed his towel back over his shoulder. "No," he lied. "Bubble bath's aren't manly. I was just going to take a shower."
It's easy to see why, Cale thought folding his arms across his chest to ward off the chill from the ghost floating through him. A small shiver ran up his spin, a foreshadowing, it would seem, of what was to come with Kayla's invitation. You never stop whining. Who'd want to be around that! all the time?
Cale couldn't help it. What has Kayla done? He gave her arm a light smack. "Oye!" he said under his breath. No no parties for ghosts in the prefect bathroom. Especially if said ghost was Myrtle. She was the worst. Did't Kayla know that? She'd spend the entire time whining and crying and merlin only knew what else.
"Hey!" Cale declared giving Kayla's arm another small smack. "I am not stupid. And you shouldn't pigeonhole people into the same categories. I don't go around declaring all girls are crazy and I sure," he said pointing a finger at the ghost and shaking it a little. "Don't go around saying all girls don't like me either. You know what they assuming makes you!"

Kayla felt Cale hit her on the arm and mutter under his breath but she chose to ignore him for the moment as she spoke to Myrtle. How fun, they were going to organise a party and hold it right here in the bathroom. This should make Myrtle very happy indeed and of course of if she could get the boys to pay particular attention to her...Kayla let out a small sound of annoyance.

"Will you please stop hitting me" she growled as she rounded on Cale, glaring at him. Listening to his little whine, Kayla rolled her eyes. "Are you sure about that?" she asked, giving Cale an innocent smile. "I seem to recall that Myrtle was rather upset when she first come in here, after a few minutes of talking to me she seems almost happy wouldn't you say?" It was all about saying the things Myrtle wanted to hear.

"Unhygienic? Are you insulting my bbbathroom?" Myrtle started to sniffle, waiting for the Prefect to correct herself before she would launch into a full-on sob session. "If you don't think my loo is clean then you're saying I'm not clean!"

Myrtle made a beeline for the boy when he acted like he'd never seen a ghost before. "BOOOOOOHOOOHOOHOOOOOO!" she moaned, making wa-wa-wa baby faces at the Ravenclaw as she zoomed around and around him in circles.

"You like bubbbble baths and I'm going to tell the whole schoo--ool," she teased in a sing song voice. "Unless, of course," Myrtle paused in her swirly zooming to play with one of her pigtails, "you haaave to come to my party. And bring the other boy Prefects toooo."

Myrtle nodded at the Hufflepuff, still twirling one of her pigtails around her finger. "You're a smart Huffie. What's your name again?" She squinted at the girl through her spectacles. "And just tell me the names of all the other Prefects tooooo, I mean, I'm sure we're all going to be best friends."

She squealed happily, a sound which echoed around the bathroom like nails on a chalkboard, and then started floating upside down again.

"Oh of course not Myrtle" Kayla quickly corrected. "It is a lovely bathroom and it is very clean. Certainly I'll bring some food up...what would be your favourite?"

Kayla watched with amusement as Myrtle taunted Cale and she stifled a giggle about the seventh year enjoying bubble baths. "Better do what she says Cale, otherwise your secret is out" she leaned over to Cale and whispered. "What's your favourite scent?"

She looked back at Myrtle as she addressed her again. "Oh it's Kayla Winters" she replied giving Myrtle a small courtsey. "Well the other Hufflepuff prefect is Dominic, the Gryffindors are Cale and Anna, the Slytherins are Evangeline and Clifford and of course Cale and Rachel here of Ravenclaw. And yes I can see us all being the best of friends" she thought that might be a bit of a stretch between her and Dominic though. Kayla felt a small shudder run through her as Mrytle squealed but she said nothing and simply smiled at her.

Kayla turned on her heel and headed for the door. "I'll be back soon with the food and decorations and of course our guests" she called over her shoulder as she made her exit.

Anna grabbed the handles of the door to the prefect's bathroom and then swung the door open. She'd recently gotten an invitation that a party in Myrtle's honor was being held in this particular bathroom, so of course she'd headed straight to the fifth floor. Just as she was coming in, though, Kayla seemed to be heading out. "Kayla? Where are you headed?" Anna asked. "I thought we were going to be partying?"

Dominic made his way along the fifth floor corridor, anxious for a long bath in the Prefect's Bathroom. Sure he had heard about it, but as he was never able to use it before now, it was an honor to be able to check the bathroom out first hand. Perhaps he should have gone back to the common room first, but it didn't matter much as the fifth year was just itching for that long hot bath to relax and steam away all his troubles.

Except for one minor fault.

A familiar head of brown hair just passed in through the door which was meant to be the Prefect's Bathroom according to his speculations. Ugh - so much for private bathtime with her around.

Nonetheless, he slipped the portrait after uttering the password and gazed around. Pleased at how orderly and beautiful everything looked. And there was more than just that brunette Gryffindor Prefect there. The two Claw Prefects were present and Kayla. Groaning quietly, he put on a facade and smiled as best as possible at them.

"Hey Anna and ... Kayla" he finally settled on using her first name. Best at least pretend to get along, especially in front of the other house prefects. "I'm sorry, but I don't think I know you two," he gestured to the Claws. "Dominic Denton ... and yourselves?"

Callie was in the need for some relaxation after planning her Quidditch try outs. There were a lot of people trying out and she hoped it wouldn't be to difficult to pick out her team.

She pushed open the door to the bathroom after muttering the password, an couldn't wait to splash some water on her face and possibly take a warm bubble bath without any disturbances.

This was obviously not the case, because when she got in there, five other people were talking in a congregation and Myrtle was there too. She knew her relaxing bath was not going to work now.

She went over to the sink and splashed some water in her face and let them talk. She didn't want to disturb them, although they didn't seem like they were doing much anyway.

"Oh good you two are here" Kayla gushed. "I'm just going to get some food and decorations for Myrtle's party" she glared at both of them daring either one to say anything. "I'll be back in a jiffy" Kayla glanced over her shoulder for a second before turning back to Anna and Dominic. "Please, please keep her happy. Tell her how wonderful she is and just simply throw compliments at her and Denton, I'm begging you please leave your sarcastic comments to yourself and pay her special attention" before either of them could argue or say a word, Kayla brushed passed them and headed down to the kitchens.
