"Hm, I suppose he probably transferred then." Isabella said as she looked around to see what they were supposed to do next. "I wonder if there's more or if we're meant to just get our homework assignments and leave."

Helena looked up from her work as a first year girl said something to her. She frowned slightly. Forgot? What does that mean? Helena chuckled, her voice her heavy with her Bulgarian accent.

I really don't know whether we are supposed to write this down, but that's what we learned to do in Bulgaria. She glanced down at her notes that were half in English - half in Bulgarian. I'm Helena, by the way. She smiled at the first year.

Kaika noticed that Melinda didn't have a partner yet, just like her, so she simply went by her side, "Hey, Mel, let me help you with that"she said, as she started to do what the Professor instructed before.

Choosing which leaves to take out were somewhat relaxing, apparently.

Melinda was so concentrated on the plant she was taking care of that shook in amazement when she heard Kaika speak to her. "Hey, Kaika..." She said, smiling wide to her friend. "Sure..." She told her nodding her head.

This was sure relaxing, maybe, that's why Jade always took care of the plants around the house, she was such a calm foster-mother.

Kayla set about removing all the yellow leaves just as the Professor had instructed and when she had finished she sat back and looked at her handy work. She didn't have a partner and quite frankly she didn't want one either, she was happy to be working on her own. That way she wouldn't have to answer questions on how her summer was and who wanted to go over all that...again.

During the whole lesson, Lizzie had been working on her own. But she was done with her plants and had no idea what to do next. Being a bit shy, she wasn't sure if she could just walk up to someone unknown and talk, or if anyone had wanted to be her partner in the first place. Waiting for more instructions, or someone familiar to talk to, she just sat there looking around...

After washing up, Qaz made notes of the day's session.

Just as the professor had instructed she started pulling off the yellowish leaves of the not so healthy looking plants along with Camira. Waiting for further instructions she continued her work while glancing through the greenhouse to see if she could spot Nick somewhere. He had to be somewhere, right?

Miranda looked around and thought ''hmm maybe i should take notes aswell, maybe mum will find this useful some day'' she chuckled to herself

Rachel spent about 5 minutes taking notes. Once she finished, she put her parchment somewhere safe and started removing the unhealthy leaves from the plant in front of her.
She didn't like Herbology much, but it was a lesson and therefore she had to do it.

Via was at the back of the class just listening to the Professor. She had been scribbling things and then the Professor had instructed them to do something. They had to pull the unhealthy leaves...was she right? She turned to the plants and started to pull dead and yellow leaves smoothly and slowly. She had no one to talk to so she just hummed silently.

She smiled at a ravenclaw who was scribbling things like her a while ago.

Lizzie spotted Via in the back of the classroom. She waved at her and smiled. Was she also working on her own?

Being done with most of her plants, she waited for further instructions from the professor, while she watched the class.

Rachel had almost finished with her plant, so she took the liberty of looking around the room. She noticed a Griffindor girl smiling at her. Rachel grinned back at her. She looks nice, Rachel thought as she resumed taking care of her plant, perhaps we can be friends!

Raine finished up her plants and put the dead leaves into the compost heap. She'd worked alone during the lesson, everyone she'd known had already paired up with someone else. During the lesson, she'd noticed another first year who'd been working alone. She was a Gryffindor, Raine was pretty sure, and right now she looked kind of lonely.

Walking up to her on her way back from the compost heap, Raine said, "Hi, I'm Raine. I hope you don't mind me coming over, it's just, you looked lonely." Raine kept her voice low, in case they weren't allowed to talk if they were finished, and so that if the professor gave them more instructions, she would hear them. She came up next to the girl and held out her hand, keeping one eye on the Venomous Tentacula. The older students had kept away from it, so she figured it would be a good idea if she did as well.

Lizzie looked up and faced a young girl, probably a first year. "Hi, I'm Lizzie, nice to meet you Raine." she said with a shy smile. "Feel free to join me if you want to, I'd like very much to have someone to talk to." She shook Raine's hand and took her bag away from the seat next to her, offering it to the girl. "Which house are you in, by the way?" she asked curious, but kept her voice down a bit, to make sure she could hear the professor if he gave any further instructions. "I'm in Gryffindor."

Sarah looked up at Gwen as she spoke.
"Oh I suppose so,but never having done any sort of lesson here before,everything is exciting to me at the minute."

Brushing her hands off she picked up her quill and made notes on what they had been doing.
Dead/dying plants need to be removed,and made into compost,to make room for the plants that will survive.The bigger healthier plants will then be transfered into other pots,while the medium sized ones stay where they are.

She hoped she had that right.If they got any homework she wanted to get it right to earn more house points.
Standing back she admired her handy work.Her side of the pot was dead plant free,and so was Gwen's.She looked up waiting for the next lot of instructions.

As Via turned to the plants again she saw the ravenclaw girl smile back at her. Via moved near the girl, "Hi!" she murmured. She started to pull the yellow leaves in there. "I'm Via, second year Gryffindor."

Tasha walked towards the compost heap with her arms full of dead leaves. On her way back, she noticed two girls talking nearby who looked her age.

She changed the direction of her feet and headed towards them instead of her seat.

"Hi... I'm Tasha... I was wondering if I could sit with you instead of over there?" She said, signaling to her seat.

Hopefully, the two girls would be able to see past her house and becomes friends with her.

Shaylee had been paying attention to the teacher and hadn't notcied that Lizzie was in the room too. she was talking to some other girls that Shaylee didn't know. walking over to the girls shaylee asked Mind if i join you?

Star sat silently, seeing that most people were already in conversations and things. This class could be quite useful as it linked in with her favourite subject, so it might be handy to pay attention. Looking around, she felt a little bemused at how quickly her fellow first years seem to have already knotted into little factions and groups. Ah well, it was of little concern. She got on with her work with the leaves. It was a simple enough task.

"Hey Via," Rachel murmured back as she finished tending her plant.
"I'm Rachel. Second year Ravenclaw. Do you want a hand with that? I've finished mine," Rachel said, hoping that she wouldn't think she was snotty. She added a smile, just to get the point across.


"Hey Tasha, I'm Rachel. Sure, come sit here!" Rachel said warmly. Inside she was jumping, friends! This year is so much better than last year.

"Yeah if you don't mind," she murmured with a nod. "We're not suppose to be chatting here but what else can we do, we're working though." Via's maintaining the low tone of her voice. "You love Herbology?"

Via smiled at another girl who joined them. "I'm Via!" she said with a beam, "Sure you can anytime if you want to."

"Hi Shaylee!! I didn't notice you were in this class too." Lizzie greeted her friend with a smile. "This is Reine" she said nodding towards the girl she'd just met with a smile. "So Shaylee, what do you think of herbology this far?" she half whispered, to make sure she wouldn't disturb anyone, or the professor. "Have you been to any other lessons already?"

Shaylee smiled at lizzie and than said to Raine hi there! im Shaylee first year gryffindor how are you? she turned to lizzie and said this is my first class and im soo excited! she said while pulling the small plants. so far so good. how about you? Do you like Hebology? Or have you been to any other classes? She asked Lizzie.
