"I'm not a baby," Cale grumbled once again. Sure, she was playing around but wasn't he obviously not in the mood. "Look, I'll find it, and I'm serious about it too...see?" he asked as in one swift motion, he overturned the nearest desk to get a look underneath it. It made a sort of loud crashing noise as it hit the floor but it wasn't deafening, and he was pretty sure he was about to be accused of being a drama queen again, but he had made his point. After seeing that the desk was clear he picked it up once again and put it back in it's original place.

"You could always look under the Professors desk," he suggested, walking over to the desk and examining it. "But I'm not about to overturn this one. In fact I'm kind of scared to even look around on it--what if Myers gets mad?"

When the temperature in the room became scolding hot, Anna looked around, trying to figure out where one of them had gone in order to trigger the change. Anna took a few deep breaths, suddenly feeling like she was smothering. It was so hot in the classroom! "It has to be this desk!" Anna exclaimed, noticing that she and Astrid were the only two really near an object at the moment. "Everyone! Over here! Search this area!" Anna motioned for the others to come and join she and Astrid at the desk. Anna began pulling out drawers, feeling a little uneasy about plundering through the headmistress' desk area in such a manner. "Oooooh, I really, really hope we don't lose points for this! After all, it's for a really good cause...I think!" Anna continued to open drawers and search the wooden frame of the desk.

Astrid face lit up as she felt the temperature rise. She started running her hands along the top of the desk and over the draws, trying to find anything at all. "Its just gotta be here!" she (almost) shouted. "Keep looking!" Then she dived under the desk to search some more.

"Anna!" Cale scolded her as without invitation, she started ripping apart the desk. Rolling his eyes, he brushed a curl out of his eyes before sighing. "Didn't I JUST say this could be a bad thing?" he asked before joining her in her attempt to find whatever was in here.

"You better hope for your sake there is something in here, because I'm not explaining this mess to the Headmistress!" he exclaimed as he opened a book on his desk and flipped through the pages.

Anna rolled her eyes playfully as Cale made a few remarks to her little comment. Sure, he wasn't being a baby...he was being a Drama Queen. Silly boy. Anna watched as Cale proceeded to overturn a desk. Show off. Hmph. At least he was helping and staying put like she'd asked him to, though.

"I'm not tearing anything up!" Anna exclaimed. "I'm just looking in all these drawers... You're right, though. I've never a lost a single house point, and I don't plan on doing so now." Anna closed the drawers and then began to think some more. "You know, that's not a half bad idea," Anna said, nodding at Cale's comment about looking under the desk, too. I'm not up for overturning this one either, but I think I'm small enough to crawl under on my back and look." As she spoke, Anna crawled under the desk and begin to feel along its underside.

As the girl dove under the desk the temperature spiked again before settling back to a more bearable degree. However, as her hand brushed over the floor beside one of the great clawed feet of the mahogany desk it began to get warm.

"Its here, its here!" she shouted as her hand brushed the clawed foot of the desk and she felt the heat resonating off of the floor. "Cale, Anna help me lift it up!"

Anna continued to feel along the underside of the desk. With the temperature changes, she was starting to get a little stuffy under there. She moved her hands all along all the edges of the desk. That clue was in this desk...somewhere..., and hopefully one of them would find it soon. She was honestly ready to just get back to the Common Room, steal a few more of Cale's Jelly Slugs, and simply relax.

"Help you lift it up?!?!" Anna shrieked, looking at Astrid as if she'd just grown three heads and nine arms. "I can't pick up a desk! Cale! Get over here!" Anna put her hands on the part Astrid had directed her to and began to tug. Of course she didn't lift the desk, but maybe with the help of two others, she could.

Cale looked down at the feet of the desk and wrinkled his eyebrows. Those were some interesting designs on the foot of the desk...and possibly a hiding place for a clue?

Feeling all his interest in their little treasure hunt come screaming back to them, he knelt down and ran a hand over the nearest clawed foot. "Do you think it could be somewhere around here? I mean, I haven't seen many desks with feet that look this elaborately decorated..."

"Here, I'll lift it...me being the man and all," he said with a grin before grabbing ahold of the side of the desk and cautiously lifting it off the ground. "But hurry and look around quick...I mean, I can hold it but I'm not Superman or anything..."

"Man?" Anna asked, looking all around the room. "There's a man in here? Why didn't you say so earlier? Where is he? We could use his help lifting this desk." Anna bit her bottom lip to keep from giggling. Cale was going to literally kill her later...she was sure of that. Anna continued to grasp the area of the desk Astrid had instructed her to hold. Now...to find this clue...

The door went open and Cassandra walked through with some paperwork for Rae to sign. She looked at the Gryffindors. "And what are you doing?" She was itching to take points off of their house... just give her a reason.

Cale was about to open his mouth and retort to Anna about him being a REAL man, when the door opened. Oooh, was it Allie coming to help. His jaw dropped when he saw who had come by for a visit...Trelawney. Of courseeee. She was lucky that Cale didn't turn around and start throwing books at her for what she did to Anna. Eyes narrowing, he continued to hold the desk up and acted like nothing was wrong.

"Well, since you asked...we're looking for a clue that might lead us to a treasure hidden in Hogwarts. And don't worry, Headmistress Rae knows all about it...you don't think we'd go rummaging around her stuff if we didn't have a legit purpose, do you?" he asked innocently. Oh, he'd like to see her report him or take points away from him--that would just give him more excuse to tell her off for being a liar, manipulator, and all around rule breaker.

Anna's eyes grew wide and she made a quick move to get up off the floor as quickly as she could. A little nervous...and not thinking one bit...Anna stood straight up and banged her hand on the side of the desk. Ow. Merlin's pants, that hurt! Anna glared at the desk, almost as if it'd hut her on purpose, and then she turned towards Cassandra Trelawney.

Great. Of all people, it HAD to be her. "Erm...hello," Anna greeted, not sure what else to say. She looked over at Astrid and Cale, seeing if either had anything to say. Anna glared back at Trelawney. She had a bone to pick with the intern anyway. A bone that included chocolate frogs and Amortentia.

As Mel looked around the place, experiencing the extreme temperature changes every now and then, she heard the door open and in seconds, the voice, the voice of the Hospital Wing Intern, Cassandra Trelawney. She froze and started to turn around, slowly to see Cassandra's eyes, eager to of course, take points off everyone in the room.

Astrid's face went completely white in a manner of seconds. That voice sent chills right up her spine, as she slowly lifted herself off of the floor and tried as hard as she could to be invisible. She hoped that silently standing behind her prefects would turn out to be the best plan of action to take. She was far too afraid to speak.

As the Gryffindor moved away from the floor the temperature of the room dropped again.

"Class was dismissed a while ago," Rae reappeared in the doorway, studying the group gathered there. "What are you doing? Were you going through my desk?"

"Argh! It's freezing in here again!" Anna fussed. "I say we all just get out of here and call it a day!" Anna didn't really want to leave, but after the whole chocolate frog incident, she no more wanted to be in the same room with Cassandra Trelawney as she did a mountain troll. It was going to get too hard to control everything she wanted to say to the intern.

Anna felt her heart rate increase as the door opened again and the headmistress walked in. This was getting to be be too much for her. "I need to sit down," Anna said, feeling a little dizzy. She turned and headed towards one of the few cushions that were scattered along the floor and took a seat. "I...it's that treasure, headmistress," she said. "The one you told us about last term..."

"Yes Professor, they were..." she smirked at Cale. "So Professor Rae knew about this did she?" She asked the Prefect. "You are a disgrace to your badge Newell..."

Great, just what they needed. For Rae to come and get involved. Sighing, Cale set the desk down...they obviously weren't going to get anywhere with Trelawney there, and now the headmistress as well.

"Well, you see Professor, remember that thing we've been looking for all term? Well...we think we've been led here to look for the next piece to the puzzle and the temperature was changing and practically leading us to look under your desk," Cale explained. There. That sounded valid to him.

Cale rolled his eyes. A disgrace to his badge? Where had he heard that before...OH, that's right, from HER. He sighed. "So I've heard," he replied, standing firmly on his ground. He was a good prefect and he knew it--he probably had a lot more to deal with in his last two years than she had ever had to deal with in her whole academic career, and he wasn't going to let her intimidate him, especially since he knew what she had done to his girlfriend. SHE was a disgrace to the nursing profession!

When Anna heard the intern speaking again, she looked up and simply glared at her. How dare she speak to her boyfriend like that? Anna made a move to stand up, but seeing as she currently quite dizzy, she kept her seat. Anna wanted to yell at Cassandra, but she bit her tongue. A disgrace is a staff member giving one student Amortentia to administer to another student. THAT was what a disgrace was.

Anna looked back up at the Headmistress, waiting for her to confirm that she did in fact know about the treasure. She had to remember...she just had to.

"You should have asked me," Rae flicked her wand, and her desk slid out of the way to rest against the wall. "We're not on different teams here. There's no need to riffle through my things. They've only been here the past 15 years or so... certainly not hundreds of years. Do I really look centuries old?" she asked Trelawney.

As soon as the desk was moved, Astrid once again felt a curious warmth coming from the floor. She immediately looked down, hoping to find the clue and please the Headmistress.

"No Ma'am." Cassandra answered and smirked. She loved being right.

"But, Headmistress...weird things were happening," Anna said, pleading with her professor to understand. "The temperature was cold one moment and hot the next. It was like these clues were playing a game of 'hot and cold' with us. Sometimes, it got so cold we had a foggy mist coming from our mouths. We were just trying to follow the leads, and, well...they led us to the desk. I apologize if we did something wrong." Anna watched as the headmistress slid the desk out of the way. She glanced at the floor, waiting to see if a clue of some kind would pop out. It never did. Anna took in a deep sigh and then blew it out slowly. This whole treasure hunt deal was taking a toll on her. She finally stood from the cushion she'd plopped down on and went to stand by Cale.
