Rachel grinned back at Via, and motioned for her to come over with her hand. I really like this potion lesson, I'm meeting people I haven't met in ages!

"I don't know. I always make a sample." Cela responded eyeing Rachel's arm, "how long is that supposed to last for? I can still feel mine on my neck but it just feels like spiders which is fine because spiders are cool."


Cela adjusted one of her books minutely and nodded sagely, "Oh I put them in seperately but I think its how I crushed the Billywig stings. Didn't have a problem with the rats tails- I julienned them and it did work better. Nico told me to do that." Cela added, thoughtfully. Credit where credit was due.

"Hospital wing? Really? I've been doing my homework in the library and out on the grounds. Spending alot of time in the library. More time outside though hunting for the perfect tre... I guess I haven't been in the common room much because apart from Barry, and you I guess," Cela grinned at her dorm mate, " Most of my friends are in Slytherin or Hufflepuff."

Rachel looked surprised when Cela had asked the question that was just running through her head, "Well I'm not sure, but I hope it won't say for long. I hate this feeling of... You like spiders???? Merlin! I wish I liked them. They always creep me out, cockroaches too." She shivered slightly causing the hairs on her other arm to stand on end as well.

"Oh, well I just put them in really slowly so that they had time to float away a little. Ahh, Nico, yes. So I take it he's good at Potions?" she asked rhetorically.

Rachel smiled wryly. "Yes Hospital Wing. You have no idea how clumsy I am. Most of the time it's funny, but occasionally I need to pay a visit to the nurse," she said, chuckling. She narrowed her eyes slightly in suspicion. There was something Cela was not supposed to tell her, and she kept slipping up. Hmmm...
"Well, you should come more often, I have some really great friends in Ravenclaw that's you'll like a lot."

Miranda's eyes almost popped out at the sight of what the Professor wrote on the board. Oh thats just... she shuddered.

Approaching the professors desk to get all the ingredients, she made a face at the sight of the spiderlegs, the rat tail (she almost gave a whimper) and the billywig stings. What if they all just transformed into their former selves and started attacking us all? And the spiders...she gave another shudder.

Miranda quickly took the described amount and held the ingredients out with an outstretched hand, far away from her as possible, and hurried over to her desk. Before starting she decided it would be a good idea to write down the 'recepie'. She sat down, pushed the ingredients to give her and them some space. She took a deep breath and started to write.

She saw RAchel's gesture that she should join them.Via motioned over to RAchel and Celandine. "Hello! I guess you too are finished with your potions. Via by the way."

"Heck yeah I love spiders!" Celandine responded enthusiastically, "Live ones are better, all their little legs make me sad."

Cela nodded at the solution Rachel had for the clumping problem and blinked at the reaction to Nico's name. "You know my brother?" Cela asked cocking her head, "Oh yeah its his favourite, potions and dark arts and divination." interesting combination. "Not the same for me, my favourites are Care of Magical Creatures, Herbology, Astronomy, Arithmancy and Ancient Runes. Oh and Divination I guess I like that too."

"Oh." Cela responded in a comforting tone. She herself was never clumsy, blessed with uncanny balance. "I met a few nice Ravenclaws." Cela began, "Meredith is nice, and Nia and Liz. Oh and this other boy who was really odd but thats good. I don't know his real name though. I think he was travelling incognito." Celandine mused, " But I'd love to meet some of your friends Rachel."

Chalice rejoiced as she saw that her potion was exactly as the Professor said it should be. "Hey Chris," Chalice said turning to her friend beside her," this is right, right?"

"We are." Celandine responded cheerfully, once again pouring over aher potions textbook. "I sorta remember you from a few classes at Belle's. I'm Cela."

Rachel shuddered when Cela responded enthusiastically. "Well, that's your opinion. And no, I don't know him personally, but I've seen him in classes. Oh, you like Arithmancy too? Yay! I've finally found someone who likes it other than me!"
She chuckled softly and added, "Yes, we Ravenclaws are nice people. So you want to meet some of my friends? Here's one! She's not Ravenclaw, but she's really nice!" She laughed and looked at Via who had just arrived. "Hey Via! Yep, we're done here. How are you?"

Via smiled at Celandine's cheerfulness, she nodded, "Yes! And i still remember you coz you were always active in classes."

Via smiled back at Rachel for introducing her as nice, "RAchel's a nice friend too."

Rachel grinned. "Thank Via. So how have you been these days? Anything interesting happen?" she asked cheerfully. She was glad that they were getting along. Hogwarts has changed me so much...

"Nothing really," she said, "Lurking around the castle on my own's not an interesting one." Via smiled at what she have said, "How about you? We should hang out some other time coz i only have time to really talk to you at classes, which is quite ironic."

Rachel laughed. "You're right. It's a little problematic," she replied, grinning. "So where do you usually hang out?" she asked, curious, "Besides the common room, since I can't go there!"

Yeah it's problematic, Via thought. "At the grounds, at the library." Via was amused at the thought she'll have someone to accompany her around. "I even think sometimes i'll just stay there forever and never show up."

"Right, so I'll see you in the grouds," she said, and ignored Via's last comment. It was't healthy to think thoughts like that, she knew from experience. Smiling, she mimicked Cela and put a sample of the potion in a flask and labeled it. Once she finished, she took out her own text book and was soon lost to world, immersed in the wonderful world of knowledge.

Though Diana had shuddered at the thought of putting Spider Legs into her potion,her potion ended up quite well.She put a sample of her potion in a flask,and labelled it.Then,she took out her text book and started reading it for the 5th time.

As her potion was stewing for 30 minutes, Lizzie looked around. She'd mostly been listening though the lesson, cause she didn't know a single thing about potions. When the others had known potion ingredients for all the letters in the alphabet, she felt like an idiot. But this was going fine. Her potion was looking like what she thought was right, and finally she removed it from the heat. While it was cooling down she looked around for someone she knew, but everyone seemed to be talking to each other and she felt kinda lonely.

"We won't beready for healing potions just yet. But, don't you worry, should you study hard and continue on with potions, you'll have no trouble taking care of those dragon-inflicted wounds," Professor Bontecou chuckled.
Rey laughed. "Goodness, what happened to you? Looks like you're ready for Halloween a might bit early, I'd say," he grinned. "Don't worry, the hair raising potion does wear off in about an hour. That seems to be the typical time for most potions that have a wear time."
"I prefer to slice mine cross sectionally" he said and moved over to the girl's table. "May I?" he asked before taking her knife and demonstrating by cutting part of one tail so that it was now in thin circles. He handed the knife back. "For this potion, it doesn't matter but, for others the rat tails will stew better if they're in smaller pieces."

Rachel looked up and relaxed when she heard the professor say that the potion will wear off in about an hour. Phew! Smiling, she went back to reading the textbook when she realised she had a question.
"Professor, if we have finished, shall we take a sample and clean up?" she asked meekly, her hand raised.

"Yes, actually, I have some spray bottles here in which you can store your potions. I only ask that you test them out here in class on yourselves before taking of with them," he answered and pushed his glasses back up on his nose.

Mariel looked around at the rest of the class as they finished up their potions. To her relief none of the other students' hair was turning green and not only that, many of them were trying them out on their arms. That seemed to be a much more viable option in Mariel's opinion.

Walking up to the professor's desk to grab a spray bottle, she took it back to her seat and filled it up with her potion. She took a deep breath and sprayed some on her arm. The potion sent shivers up her arm as the hairs stood on end. Creepy.

Rachel nodded. She had already tested it, so she went and got herself a spray bottle. She poured as much of the potion as she could into the bottle, then put the sprayer on top to prevent it from spilling. She started cleaning up when another question came to her, "Professor? Does this potion have an expiry date?" she asked.

Astrid checked the temperature of her potion to make sure that it was finished cooling. She looked down at her arm and tried to decide just where to test it, realizing that her arms were darn near hairless. She shrugged and dipped her wand into the cauldron and added a few drops to the exposed skin, just above her wrist. OOOH tingly! She thought. It started to feel like her skin was moving all by itself somehow and it was kinda freaking her out but those little hairs stood right up, just like they were supposed to. She smiled, pleased with herself for properly brewing her first potion.

Then she walked back up to the professor's desk. Still watching the patch of skin intently, she nearly fell over the desk in front of her. She blushed, put her arm to her side and selected a spray bottle. When she returned in front of her cauldron, she carefully added its contents to the bottle, making sure not to make a mess. She wiped away a tiny drop that landed on the table and put the top on the bottle. Then she labled it with her information and raised her hand to show the Professor. "Sir, I'm finished. Did I do everything correctly? she asked.

Up until that point Sarah had been busily writing things down on her parchment.The other students were too quick for her when answering the professors questions.She had been flicking through her textbook,but in the end gave up and decided to write down what everyone else was saying.

Hearing the words 'spider' and 'stings' made her look up.The professor was giving them the instructions on what to do next.
Walking up to his desk,Sarah picked up all the ingredients she needed and went back to her own table.
She bent down and picked up her cauldron from the floor,placing it carefully on the desk.Tying her hair back,so not to get it in her face,she cringed.Looking down at what she had made her feel sick.
Oh this is not right! Spider legs and rats tails?! I think I'm going to be sick.

Lighting a fire under her cauldron,Sarah crushed the billy wig stings while she waited for the water to boil.
Addng them along with the spider legs,she made a note of the time by looking at her watch. 15 minutes...right.
Setting about slicing the rats tails in the meantime,Sarah took a quick glance around the room.Everyone was doing theirs seemingly well.She hoped her finished product was OK.

After the time was up she added the rats tail slices and stewed it for another 30 minutes,as instructed.
Taking the cauldron off the heat,Sarah looked down at her potion.. "Hmmm not sure what it is supposed to look like,but at least it didn't blow up in my face!" she mumbled.

She walked over to the professors desk again to pick up one of the spritzer bottles he had,then returned to her own table.
Sarah filled the bottle as carefully as she could until the potion had reached the top.Screwing on the lid,she smiled to herself. "My very first potion...this is sooo cool!"

Looking at the instructions again she noticed the last part.. "spritze on hair."
Oh god this could be disastrous!
Slowly she sprayed it on her arm,as she noticed others doing,and closed her eyes..not wanting to see what would happen.
Opening them after a short while,and after feeling a tingly feeling on her arm,she looked down and gasped.
My hair actually is on end! That's fantastic!

Grabbing her quill she wrote her name and house on the bottle so it didn't get confused with anyone elses,then waited to see what else the professor wanted them to do.

Jenn shivered slightly. 'Rat tails? Spiders? Eww!'Jenn thought to herself. Jenn grabed the ingredients and got to work. She boiled the water and while that was boiling she chrushed the billy wig stings. When the water was at a nice rolling boil she added the stings and spider legs. (Eww!) After having a argument with her self on how to cut it without touching it, she finally cut it with her nose rinkling in disgust. 15 min. where up and she added the tails and continued stirring it. Finally, (after much rinkling of the noise) the potion was removed and placed so it could cool. Jenn walked over to the desk and grabed a sprits bottle and filled it with the potion. Jenn sighed and glared at it, but finally sprayed a bit on her arm. It tingled and tickled her arm then (much to happiness) raised her hairs on her arm. Jenn jumped up gleefully, then wrote her name on the bottle. Jenn looked around and spotted Sarah. Jenn walked over. "I did it!"Jenn said lifting up her bottle. She sat down next to Sarah, and waited for the professor.
