Thornton straightened up a little, making his chest stick out more than necessary. "Oh!" His expression changed. "So you think I'm wonderful?" He nodded proudly. Oh course he was wonderful. He was Bob Thornton. Then Bob realised who he was talking to, a incompetent Hogwarts professor. "Not that your opinion matters." he added.

"Well. I just wanted to ask you about a creature. I'm about to have a class you see." Bob paused for a moment. "Now don't take things personally. I know you were the COMC professor last term. I heard that you couldn't hack it. So they put you into runes. That's ok. Don't feel bad. I'm taking over. The class is better than ever. You should be grateful."

Fabian leaned back in his seat as he let go of a breath he didn't realize he was holding. Elated by how the conversation turned around, he couldn't help the smile, slowly growing from the edge of his lips until it was a full grin. "No offense taken at all Bob" he mused, "I hope you don't mind me calling you Bob? Or if you prefer Thorton? You know, me not being up to standards an all" if it was possible for his grin to go any wider it could have gone.

'Sure sure. Call me Bob. It is an honor for you after all. Don't let it go to your head.... I am glad that you've taken this so well." He said, flicking off some crumbs from his shirt.

"So I wanted to ask about these creatures. They are grey, have a shell. Some have spikes and they blow fire out of their ends. How do you know which end is which?" Bob asked. "I'm sure you'd know this. These disgusting creatures seem to be your thing."

"Right. I won't let it get to my head Bob. Promise" he croaked rubbing his hand over his lips trying to loosen the smile.

"Ah" he sighed after hearing Bob's description of the creature, it took a bit to decipher Bob. Bobictionary wasn't available in their library.. yet. "Yes, disgusting belongs to me. Of course. I believe you are referring to the crossbreed called Blast-Ended Skrewt" that explains the strong fish smell in his office. "They should be approximately two months old, if their crust is gray. And the spikes, their actually called stingers. Males have that, so its fairly easy to figure gender with that" he scratched his chin thoughtfully. "It is quite hard to figure which end is which. They blast in different direction each time, you have to study them closely to figure that out. And they don't have heads. You can't get close to them. Their quite dangerous Bob".

What was this man talknig about! No wonder why he was put to Runes. He was boreville. Bobs eyes started to get heavy while Fabian blabbed on about who knows what rubbish. Before Bob knew it, his eyes had shut tightly as he started to snore. And sore loudly I might just add.

Fabian blinked then dropped his head back and barked in laughter, this was madness indeed. The man literally fell asleep in his office.

"Bob" he called, he had a feeling the man won't wake. He peered around his desk and picked up a ruler to poke him gently with in the arms. "Bob. Wake up. Bob. Wake up!".

Bob felt some prodding on his arm and the voice of the annoying Fabian. "Huh? whatt. Urgh!" He mumbled. "Oh right. See...I hate to break it to you but you're boring. This is my the minister had to step in." Bob yawned, now he was hungry again.

"I guess so" Fabian shrugged and stared at Bob though his mind was somewhere far, very far away. He had a feeling or maybe an urge to attend Bob's next class, perhaps it was for the student's safety. He was sure Bob would throw tantrum at the idea alone. So he shook his head instead and smiled, "those creatures are quite safe" he mused, "they like it when you keep holding them. I advice you to do it, all the time".

"Like I care if they are safe." Bob snorted. "It's the students who will be touching them.... But just for you I'll tell them all to give them a little cuddle." Hah! What a loser this guy was. "Now if you'd excuse me, I have a lunch waiting for me." Bob said, turning around and walking out the door.

"WAIT!" Fabian hollered after Bob, but the man loved food more than anything and he was sure he wasn't turning around. His gut feeling told him this was bad. "Students shouldn't be touching those Bob! You need permission from Branxton first!" he slapped his face and muttering "holy cow".

Bob was almost completly out of the door when he heard Fabian speak again. "You just said they were friendly. I Bob Thornton a ministry professor does not need permission from that hopeless Branxton. He is lucky he still has a job here. Oh I will be talking to the minister himself about this." Bob slammed the door shut and quickly ran off for food.

Ow cow. Why did he have to have sudden activity in his brain cells when it came to this. Those ministry people sure knew how to protect themselves. "Minister my foot, Bob!" he croaked after him, "I don't care if you hold them. Don't let the students hold them until their efficiently trained on the procedure!". He had a feeling Bob had no idea what that procedure was and scowled at the door after his shadow.

Bob stormed back into the office after class in a fury. His backside was just burnt by one of those creature thingies in class. After Fabian said they were safe. "FABIAN CLARK!!" He screamed, before he even got in the office. "WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YOU!" He continued, slamming the door open and nearly taking it off the hedges. He stood there and pointed to his backside. "Care to explain THIS!"

Fabian was stewing in his seat all day, he tried distraction by means of reading and preparing for his next class. Reading, he found wasn't as a good distraction as the sport section of the Daily Prophet. He was immensely absorbed when he heard the yelling before his door was kicked open. His eyes grew whole as he cursed, "Bloody hell". By natural reflexes he found himself bolted up straight flinging his hands infront of him unconsciously, maybe because Thorton was HUGE.

"Usually I get that line from the lasses" he shrugged taking a few steps backward, "being a Quidditch player and all. But I honestly can't understand why you'd want to touch me. How about we take it like the civilized society that we are and keep our hands to each other? Yeah?" he really couldn't see Thorton's back from his angle. "I can't see from here. Whats gotten up your pants to get you this angry?"

Bob blinked, what was this man on about? "Don't get smart with me Fabian. When the minister hears about this....so help me... You will be finished when I am through with you!" Bob said, advancing. His anger was growing. "TOUCH you? I'm going to rip you into a million pieces. " And with that, Bob turned around to show his backside to Fabian. He had no idea how bad the burns were or how much of his clothes the flames burnt off, but he was in pain. A lot of pain!

"Now now" Fabian cautioned and took another step backwards, now where did he put his wand? "We both know Cooper doesn't like to be disturbed with such insignificant school injuries". He released a whistle when Thorton turned around to show his back, maybe it wasn't insignificant. "What did you do? Go inside an oven? Haven't you heard of house elves?"

Bob continued to slowly advance, breathing heavily. Now was it because he was so furious or because he was a bit out of breath, he didn't know. Or care. His eyes were focused on Fabian, his teeth gritted together. "INSIGNIFICANT?" He bellowed. "I am burnt because YOU gave bad advice on those nasty creatures I had in class. They burnt me and it is YOUR fault."

"The Skrewts did that?" he murmured with raised brows, the man must have laid on top of them to achieve such injury. He told him to hold them in his hands. Now that was stupid. "Well you said yourself, I didn't know much about the subject" he explained taking another step back brushing the wall with his back. Now he was stuck. Unless he could move to the right? "I don't understand why you took my advice?" talking to Thorton was good, at least it'll distract him until he can .. well there was no way out. "Why are you here? You should have gone to the infirmary. Come'on I'll take you there before it gets infected."

“You sure knew enough to give me terrible advice. If you didn’t know you should have stayed out of it!!” Bob continued to scream, he was almost shaking in anger. He pulled out his wand and aimed it in Fabians direction, sending a hex his way. Now Bob wasn’t the best with a wand, so it flew off course and only hit his upper arm. Right on his biceps to be exact.

"You oaf!" Fabian groaned from the sudden searing pain, suits him for not having his wand at hand. At least he was lucky the man wasn't artistically trained in the arts of spell casting. He peaked down his right arm, he didn't expect the sudden faintness at the sight of blood pouring down his arm. He brought his left hand to cover his right, "you nailed my wand hand. What century are you from?" he barked now glaring at the giant. "And it seems you missed teachers orientation cause they sure mentioned no attacking other Professors while on duty". Bloody rotten luck. He really wanted to strangle him now.

"Put your wand DOWN Thorton!" Fabian's tone was escalating to menace. "This is no way to handle the situation. Hurting me will only dig a deeper hole for you. Let's deal with it like ... adults!".

Alright, now Professor Clark's office was next. Pocketing his hands as he walked towards the office, Kingston began to think of what to say to the man. He never attended a class, so why would he go meet him? Probably introduce himself since that would be what Lord Borr wanted, right? No, probably not. Sigh.

As he walked further, his brow shot up in alarm as he heard some yelling. Kingston broke into a run and didn't bother knocking the door. Instead, he opened the door and stared in horror.

Professor Fabian was on the ground, his right arm gushing blood. What in Merlin's beard was happening here? "Professor?!" Kingston called, walking in. And when he did, he saw that Thorton was on the other side, his wand pointed at Professor Clark.

Oh dear.

"Professor Thorton?" Kingston spoke, his eyes on the wand. "What are you doing?"

"I didn't go to any teaching orientation!!" He grumbled, pleased that he got his wand hand. "There will be no demands from you Clark. I will do what I want....." Thornton was cut off by a student entering.



"WHat are you doing here!!! Mind your own buisness." He called, turning between Fabian and the student, unsure which direction to place the wand.

"Be careful lad!" Fabian cautioned at the Hufflepuff, "he's a tad sensitive at the moment" he explained apologetically. Well great, now a student was at stake and Thorton's anger seemed to only increment more.

"Don't you dare point your wand at him Bob!" he warned once he caught Bob's unsure glance towards the student. "And I'm not your hostage to make demands. Now take a deep breath! Your blowing this out of proportion".

"You did this to him?!" Kingston asked Thorton in alarm. His head then turned to look at professor Clark who seemed to be in pain at the moment. "Are you bloody insane?!" He asked, taking a few steps back. Kingston poked his hand to pull out his wand. This was pure madness!

"I'm NOT BLODDY INSANE!" He yelled at the student, snapping he head back to Fabian " Just admit it...You did this on purpose." He said, pointing to his backside. 'You were just jealous that I got your job, because the minister likes me. AND I'LL POINT MY WAND WHERE I WANT!"
