| | |  Potions Lesson One: Boil-Bursting Unction
Adam, beanie covering his head, opened the door to the classroom. His hair had turned completely white, except for a few black stripes and quite frankly Adam wanted to lock himself in his office and never come out again. The liberal amount of black number 43 hair dye he'd rubbed in hadn't helped either.
But work was work, and another set of students were waiting for him to fill their brains with knowledge. Or not... he thought to himself.

Ryan trudged into potions. He never really found himself to be that great at potions. He was always just good enough to get by. Nonetheless, he enjoyed the lessons, and continued to attend.
As he walked through the door, he gave one of those Man Law #19 head nods to Professor Dresden. "Hello, sir," he said.
After greeting the professor, he took a seat in the middle to class - all the better to learn without being teacher's pet. | |

Toting her bag with her, Issy made her way into the Potions dungeon. Ag! This was sure to be her worst class. It was impossible for her to even boil water as it was! She wasn't looking forward to mixing things together and making potent potions.
Sliding into the classroom, feeling rather queasy, Issy paused a few feet in, blinking up at the Professor. Her nerves itched and before she could even think about the words that were about to spill, she blurted: "Professor! You... look like a skunk!"
It was a compliment. Really! Issy loved skunks - she owned skunks. But it might not have seemed to be a compliment. Flushing, she let her hair fall forward, covering her cheeks and she scurried for a seat. She passed a familiar Ravenclaw, backtracked and dropped in next to Ryan.
Hands over her face, she mumbled to him, "Will you kill me, Mister Ryan? Quick and easy. Just put me out of my misery, please?" | |

Ryan stuffed his fist in his mouth to prevent his snickers from escaping. "Of course not, Issy!" Ryan said. "You'll be just fine....but in case Dresden tries to poison you, I'll protect you....to the best of my ability."
He smirked, still thinking about her calling Dresden a skunk.

Joe walked into the class room with a yawn occupying her face. Her boots clunked on the floor as she walked in. For the first time in ages she was actually wearing her school uniform. It was disheveled quite a bit though. It matches her mess of a hair too. Well as much as it would. No school uniform would ever match it's pink in color.
She found a table off to the side as she slunk back into the chair. She plopped her books down from her book bag to the table and got ready for the class by fixing the scarf around her head. | |

Juniper stepped into the potions classroom. She was not looking forward to this class, but was trying to put on a brave face. She found this very difficult, but then she spotted Issy. Issy, one of her very few friends. Juniper made a beeline for the empty desk next to her fellow first year.
“Hi, Issy,” she whispered as she sat down. Her usually curly brown hair was slightly flatter today, and more wavy than curly. Juniper honestly did not know how she had managed to tame the curls enough for them to succumb to staying behind her ears. However it happened, she was glad of it. | |

"Welcome back to Potions for this term everyone. Today we're going to be brewing a Boil-Bursting Unction, which is used extensively at St Mungo's. The unction is preferred to the traditional method which was to lance the boils with a big, sharp, hot steel rod. Very messy.
Any questions before we begin?"

Feeling stupid, Issy made a hmph noise and slowly slid back up in her seat, readjusting her skirt and shooting Juniper a furtive look of dismay - dismay at her ability to open her large mouth and insert her foot. She'd have to tell Juni what she did after class, because it appeared the Professor was ready to begin.
Any questions?
Oh, like, perhaps, "May I drop this class forever?"
If only.
