Marco raised his hand, "I have a girlfriend Professor"

Rather hesitantely, Savannah's hand raised slightly. She hoped to merlin her cheeks hadn't colored as they had warmed abit. It wasn't over the boy himself, of course not, they were best friends from the start before now. It was the subject, it made her feel quite bashful.

Amelia swallowed hard at the question Lainey posed. She knew what the answer was, but at the same time, wasn't the question a bit inappropriate for class discussion? Lainey should have at least told them to introduce themselves first. Raising her hand reluctantly, not really in response to the question but to ask another one, "Professor? Isn't that a tad personal for school? I mean, well, I just think we should be concentrating more on learning the subject of history rather than discussing relationships." People were going to either hate her or love her for bringing the subject up.

Laylee smiled as she entered the room. The desks had some little candies on them and everything was pink. She picked a seat in the middle of the room and looked up at her very pink teacher. She laughed at her question about the kids personal lifes.
"Hahaha, I dont." She said simply, popping a peice of her candy in her mouth.

Cassandra smirked... "What's the matter, Rose. Don't have a boyfriend? Moonson not desparate enough yet?" she said under her voice so only her fellow prefect and Marco, who was sitting next to her, could hear.

Monica looked at Cassandra and accidentally lipread her. She smiled at her friend and tried not to laugh.

Amelia turned her head to look at the familiar voice she heard softly. She gasped, "Uh no, Trelawney. I have a boyfriend, but I just prefer to keep my personal matters outside of school, thank you. Clearly more than you could say for yourself." she whispered back and then added, "and Moonson and I are just friends, by the way."

Ray looked at Cassandra... "Please can you tell your friend to cool it down a bit?" Ray wispered to Monica.

"Now now. Don't get your knickers in a knot dear children. It was a simple question. I didn't twist anyone's arm for an answer. Though, Kingston sweetheart, if you don't pink up the candy I may twist your ear off." Lainey gave him a brief glare before replacing it with a smile.


"We'll start the lesson now that I have all your attention. I've heard a few of you mention Valentine's Day already. The day of love," Lainey visibly swooned a little. In a former life, she would have disgusted even herself. "What do you all know about Valentine's Day, anyway?"

Aithley narrowed her eyes and snorted, though she was silently wondering if this boy could be added to her toy collection or not. So far she had two very good toys to play with but she was in search of more and this particular fellow seemed to be a great addiction. Well, so far at least. She'd have to test the water first to be certain, of course.

'Who said I was talking to you, kid?' She asked him, ignoring the fact that he seemed to be around her age. 'All I did was state a fact' She smirked.

As the Pink Woman spoke again, her eyes darted in the woman's direction. Valentine's Day, figures. 'It's the most stupid day of the whole year, that's what "the day of love" is' She replied, making quotation marks as she repeated the Professor's words.

Hitachi was sitting quietly, waiting for the lesson to begin. The Professor had asked a question, Hitachi raised his hand. "Professor, Valentines day is a day where you show that you love your valentine." Hitachi said.

Tia tired to think of the answer but nothing came to her and she was prepared to take notes on what her fellow classmates said

Dan raised his hand " Its the day of Saint Valentine ?" he asked.

Vannie raised her hands, a spurt of confidence coming from somewhere. "Isnt it the day when partners exchange gifts with each other that symbolise love such as roses or chocolate?" She looked slightly aprehensive about if she was correct or not.

Camira raised her hand hesitantly. "Well, there are a lot of different legends about it, Professor.According to one legend, Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl -- who may have been his jailor's daughter -- who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine." She was in class mode now.

"Isn't there a baby associated with Valentine's Day by the name of Cupid, who carries around a quiver of arrows and shoots them at people and makes them fall in love? That's according to legend, of course," Excelsior said.

In any other occasion, Evangeline would’ve laughed as Lainey swooned, but not now. Nope. Not when she had just said that word. Love. Was this the time to hide herself under the table?

Nevertheless, her hand raised almost by itself at her question. “It’s an holiday, as you said the day of love.” She cringed slightly at the word. “It is the day when lovers express their love for each other.” She nodded her head, trying to keep herself calm. Feeling a little sick, his face paler than usual, Clifford shook his head. He knew nothing of this Valentine's thing ... and was perfectly happy not knowing too.

It sounded like this day sucked! Majorly sucked.

Rolling her eyes, Amelia was thankful that Lainey finally began the real lesson. This would be interesting to sit through. Valentine, a priest who served during this time, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.

While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl -- who may have been his jailor's daughter -- who visited him during his confinement. Emily raised her hand, "It's a muggle invented day in which we are forced by consumerism to buy cards and chocolates for our loved one?"

"Don't call me sweetheart, Professor. I'd prefer only Kingston," he told her with a grunt. Bending down he picked up the candy and looked up at her. "Now what do you want me to do with this my sweet Professor?" Kingston asked with sarcasm.

As she asked the question about the day of love, he snorted. "Really now. Surely you don't all believe of this love day thing do you? It's nonsense and it's meaningless." Kingston said, his voice loud enough for the whole class to hear. "If you ask me love is a foolish thing," he said with his hand running through his hair.

Hitachi's stomach turned. He felt like there were butterflys flying about inside his stomach. His answer was quite small and not really informative. The rest of the class basically made him look like he was in kindergarten.
