Heather walked in quietly and went to the rose she had been working with. She pulled out her wand and sent a gentle cool breeze to it. She had been wanting to try it and see what would happen. She watched as the plant turned pink. She pulled out her sketch pad and began to sketch it. she wrote down a few notes and smile.

Curiosity killed the cat, was the phrase running through her mind. She looked around and then began to sing to the plant. Heathers eyes lit up as the rose swayed without a breeze from side to side. She noted it and smiled. She stood there quietly checking all she needed to.

Liz walked into the greenhouse, and placed her Mariposa Lily on the table. She took out her notebook, and a quill.

She started humming a song, and suddenly stopped, and realized it was a song her mum used to sing to her. She looked down at the flower and her eyes filled with tears again. How long will this last she wonders...

Alandra walked into the greenhouse carrying her Snapdragon. She smiled as she put it down. It was still a small bud, but hopefuly it would grow into a nice beautiful plant. The colour of the plant was supossed to vary upon the wizard who grew it.

Needless to say, Alandra was excited to see it grow. She opened her text book to the chapter entitled, 'Antirrhinum Majus.' She was happy that it was about to become summer, plus that was when the Snapdragons blossomed the best.

Alandra wrote down notes about how she had to put a lot of water and make sure she put something over it so it wouldn't get too much sun. She smiled and closed the book. Remembering to put a levitation charm on a blanket so that it would float over her plant, before she walked out to do her CoMC homework.

Kayla walked into the classroom and placed her lily on one of the benches and stared at it for a long time before taking out her journal and writing down the day's temperature and humidity. She had been reading the text on this particular plant and found that she was slightly confused on what the plant required. She looked around for Professor Erikson to ask his opinion. "Excuse me Professor, I have a question."

He made his way over to Kayla, smiling softly. "Yes Kayla, what is it?"

"Hello, professor Erikson. Hopw are you doing today?" Eva said to the teacher when she walked in to the greenhouse. She sat down in the middle of the classroom, and took her quill and her notebook out of the bag.
Eva was anxious for the class to start.

Liz wipes her eyes again, and starts taking notes. She looks up at the thermometer, and notes the temperature, and also glances at the humidity level in the greenhouse, and notes that also.

She carefully puts her finger in the soil, and notes that it is a little dry, and adds some water. She then carefully cleans her finger off, so her skin doesn't get irritated by the fertilizer.

Liz is hoping that her plant doesn't miss her humming, it's too soon, to hum because she usually would hum songs her mom taught her.

Kate walked into the Herbology classroom.She had had bad experiances in her Herbology classes at her old school,but she was hoping that this class would be a bit different.Hopfully.She took a seat near the front,next to another girl,who looked a younger than her,she looked at least 12.Must be a first yearShe thought.She looked at her and smiled."Hello.."she whispered to her.

Armand rolled his eyes and nudged the girls who'd sat down. "You two, pick a plant, start journaling. If you were planning on attending class, you're a few days too late."

Kayla smiled back at the Professor. "Well sir I have been reading up on my plant and one text says that it requires a lot of water it likes to be in area that is rather moist but another text says that it doesn't like to be waterlogged. So I'm not sure which one I should be following" she said.

"There is a difference, my dear. The Turk's Cap Lily is typically found around swamps. So long as it has proper drainage it's very difficult to over-water. Under-watering will actually be an issue, since it prefers full or part sun, and you'll get a better result when it's in full sun, such as closer to the window here." He chuckled. "I actually tend to have it on a fairly consistent rapid drip when in the greenhouses."

"Oh okay thank you Professor" Kayla said quietly as she picked up her lily and moved it over to the window. She turned back and faced Professor Erikson, "Sir I was wondering if I could ask you something else" she faltered for a moment and then shook her head. "Actually it doesn't matter your busy with the other students" Kayla bit her lip nervously, she wanted advice on a personal issue but knew that this was not the time or the place.

He gave her a reassuring smile. "If it can wait, just pop over to my office after lab hours. We can talk then."

Kayla nodded her head. "Thank you" she said softly. She picked up her things with shaking hands and walked out of the lab, now all she had to do was get up the nerve to actually go to his office.

Cassandra sat looking at the lily the professor gave her. A lab was odd for journaling... but Professor Erikson knew what he was doing.

She began writing in her Journal noting that it's scientific name was Convallaria majalis and that it was the only species in the genus Convallaria in the flowering plant family Ruscaceae, formerly placed in the lily family Liliaceae or in its own family called Convallariaceae. Lots of nonsence...

The flower was being stubborn, and not... doing... anything. She began writing a description marking that is had broad, spear-like foliage and fragrant little white bell-shaped flowers. While it’s a popular garden perennial, she noted that the Lily of the Valley has seen increasing popularity as a cut flower.

She tapped her quill on the table hoping that would intimidate the flower into sprouting or something.

She then walked out.

Hello, Liz whispered back, and gave a wobbly smile.

She looked back at her plant, and noticed it was starting to droop. I need to cheer up she thought. I don't want this plant to die too...

She took some notes: plant responds to my own feelings, if I'm down, it starts drooping.

Heather walked in quietly. She had left a few days ago and been amazed by what had happend. She had a lot of notes and couldn't believe it. She set her plant down carefully. It held blood red petals and a black stem. Opening her bag she watched as the petals changed color slowly. From the red to a crystal blue then silver. She opened her journal which held sevral pictures and started jotting down notes. She pulled out some sketch paper and began to draw it. Humming happily the plant began to sway and she giggled softly.

Alandra almost squealed when she saw yellow and red start to sprout from a small bud coming out from the dirt in her plant.

'April 19

The bud had been growing rapidly and I have been watering it regularly so that it will able to get a lot of water.

It has taken well to the change in climate and is very dependent on the shade I have provided it with.'

Alandra smiled as she put down her journal and put it back in its place. She patted her plant before putting the shade back over it and walking to breakfast.

Heather walked in and looked at her watch. It had been three hours since she had last been here to see her plant. She walked over to it and gave it some water watching the colors change. She pulled out a sketch pad. It had grown two feet and gained more thorns. Siently she sat there sketching away.

Before Liz left, she decided she should sketch a drawing of her Mariposa Lily.



Liz packs up her sketch pad, and puts the items she used away. She places her plant on an empty spot on the table, in the greenhouse. She picks up her backpack, and leaves.

After sitting there for hours Heather stood up. She walked away from her plant wanting to leave it alone for a bit. Her head swam with thoughts as she watced her plant turn grey.

Kayla walked into the lab and moved straight over to her lily. She took out her journal and wrote down the temperature and humidity levels and also how well the plant seemed to be responding to it's new position. She adjusted the hose to a slower drip wanting to see how the plant reacts to a little less water. Kayla noted down that there were a few sprouts of new growth on the stem and the leaves and blooms were flourishing beautifully.

Kayla looked around at the other students and noticed that some of them were singing to their plants, she turned back to hers and chuckled lightly. "I won't torture you with my singing" she murmured. "We want you to live...not die a horrible death."

Xana entered the herbology lab and approached the professor. "Professor Erikson? I was wondering... would it be alright if I journaled and tended a different plant than those you had in the class? I have one I kind of want to pay special attention to anyway... it's a hybrid I've been working on." She looked at him hopefully.

He blinked a little. "Sure. It's not a problem. Though I'd think you would have about a dozen such journals you could hand me." He smirked slightly, taking a glance to Kayla at her words before turning back to Xana. "I think someone even planted something and is journaling it's early growth. I want the focus to be on learning to record all details and actions, rather than the plant itself. That is why I am not necessarily having you care for the plants if you don't wish to."
