Heather noted that the soil was fairly dry. I shall water that later. She made a mental note to do so. Then she wrote it down on paper and noted the time. She waited for the next step of instructions. |
Right, soil. Well he needed to borrow Cassandra's bag to see that. He peered over the edge of the desk. Right the soil was brown. He smiled, as he saw Erikson didn't comment on his obscene drawing. Actually he didn't notice alot. He recognised that look. "Sir, are you ok?" |
Kayla stuck her finger in the soil, it felt rather dry to her and thought it best to ask first before giving it some water. "Professor, the soil in the pot is quite dry, may I give it some water?" she looked under the pot to make sure it had drainage holes. |

"Hmm? Oh yes, it's fine." He gestured to some watering cans he'd filled in the corner before looking at Marco. "Yes, I've just been a little... distracted, lately." "Normally at this point you would take note of anything else the plant may need, dependent on the colors and such. A yellowing plant that isn't over-watered may need to have its soil tested, for instance. You all have relatively healthy plants so this shouldn't be an issue, but it may be in the future. Are there any questions?" |

Cassandra looked into her bag. "Denver..." she said calmly... "You are going to clean my bag, or else..." she said. |
"Distraction isn't good Sir. Especially with people like me in your class. I use class work to keep me focused," Marco smiled at the Professor. "Erm...no," he smirked at Cassandra, "Since I did not do anything. And it is your bag." |
Heather made a few more notes then got up to get a watering can. She looked at her plant and made sure there were drainge holes. She poured the water in slowly and gasped in shock. The plant turned a shiny silver. Heather put the can down sat down and scribbled down what had happend. She pulled out her sketch pad and began to draw another picture. She noted that the thorns had disappered. She put down the time and smiled taking the can back. |
"Well then," he said with a smirk, "focus on your class work." Quietly, he added, "I have just learned that my wife and I are expecting once more." Clearing his throat he continued on. "Now, would you like to tell me how the soil from your cactus got into the prefect's bag?" |
Heather sat there looking at the sliver rose. She wondered what else could happen to it. She wanted to change the temperature or something else and see what would happen. |
"Exactly- Wait? Professor Blaylock's pregnant? Again?" Cassandra's eyes were huge. She wasn't upset... she was just shocked. |
Kayla got up and grabbed a watering can from the bench and came back to her table and poured a little into the pot. She waited for the water to soak into the soil, seeing that the water wasn't coming out the bottom she gave it a little more, hoping to god that she wasn't drowning the crap out of it. Satisfied she put the watering can back where she got it from and sat back down. Kayla watched Professor Erikson for a moment and Marco was right, he did indeed seem distracted about something...then she heard him say that his wife was pregnant again...well that would do it! |
"I will do Sir," Marco smiled. "That is awesome news. I have a secret too," he whispered, "I got married at Christmas, and my wife is...well...erm...expecting. It is kind of scary. How did you feel with Damian?" He ran his hands through his hair. He hadn't really had time to sit down and think about it, but he was still scared. "Well...my plant did...not...fall over and the soil did...not...land on my desk," he smiled, "And I did...not...brush it into her bag." |
"Congratulations Professor" Kayla said with a smile. "You must be really excited about the news." Wonder if you'll be alive long enough to see the birth Kayla thought idly remembering what he had said to her in detention. |
He glanced over to see Heather enjoying one of his plants and chuckled a little, then turned back to the duo he was by. "Yes, Cassandra. We are expecting again. She is fairly certain we will be having a girl this time." He smiled to Kayla. "Thank you. We are rather excited." Hearing Marco's news he raised a brow. "Is that so? Well, congratulations. As for Damian..." He thought about it. "Honestly, I was both ecstatic and terrified. By the way, yes, you will be cleaning out Cassandra's bag." |

Heather watched the plant slowly change black again and the thorns come back. She looked at her watch and wrote down the time. She had never been the type for Herbology but she was enjoying herself. She stood up and looked inside it. She didn't expect what she saw but it was red. She jotted it down and smiled. |
Kayla jumped in her chair when Cassandra yelled out. "Are you okay?" Kayla asked concerned that the girl was having a heart attack or something the way she was clutching at her chest. |
"Thank you Sir. I am really scared. I will only be 18 after all. Not something I expected to be doing at my age," he smiled weakly. He jumped at Cassandra, "Yes Cassandra?" He bowed his head, "Yes Sir." He looked down at Cassandra's bag. He didn't want to use magic. "Can I have your bag please Cassandra?" Marco asked. |
Heather felt left out of the conversation as usual. So she turned her plant and drawed it from a diffrent point of veiw. Catching every detail she smiled. Her mind wonder off and came back every few minuets but she enjoyed herself. |
"Calm yourself, piccola mia..." He frowned, a little worried. He looked at the time and realized he still needed to set the homework. "Breathe, dear one. Let me give the homework." He moved back to the front of the classroom, getting their attention. "I believe this will be enough for today. This classroom (ooc: different thread) will be left open for the next few weeks. I want a fully detailed journal of the plant you have chosen in to me in two weeks. That would be the 27th. This will also count as your final, so make it good. I will be available in this classroom if you wish to experiment with your plant, but I will be supervising and caring for the plants here in the meanwhile. This will not be open after curfew, so don't even try, please. If no one has further questions, class is dismissed." |
Cassandra kept up the occlumancy her father was teaching her. She handed her bag to Marco, no words... She sat in the back of the room, and continued hyperventilating... as quietly as she could. |
Kayla gave a quick glance to Cassandra and then shrugged her shoulders, would that girl ever accept help from anyone. Kayla gathered her journal together and put it into her bag, she rose quietly out of her chair and headed slowly to the door. |
Heather gathered her stuff and smiled. She had enjoyed the flower she choose and couldn't wait to continue her journal. She left humming yet again. |
