Armand didn't know whether to laugh or cry at Marco's comment, though decided on neither for the sake of what little sanity he still possessed. Then the dreaded question was asked, and his reaction was masked appropriately. "I'm afraid I do keep mine locked away for a reason, but I could give you some basics. It is rather... dark, for instance. I was slightly vengeful in my youth. It is a crystal color, and you can actually see through it in places, though it is blue as well. The edges are tinged in red, due to my early childhood in a muggle orphanage. For anyone who might question it, however, both of my birth parents were wizards, and I was raised by such since I was five." He glanced at Apedemak, the only one who had seen his plant, indicating to the boy that it was as far as he wanted anyone to know. "Excellent, all of you. Now, you'll see that there are various plants around the classroom. You will each pick one, you can choose to continue with your konkagami if you choose, and I will guide you in detailing a one-day journal. This is supposing you are noting once a day. Some journals can have four or five entries per day for a single plant, or even more." "Now, once you have chosen a plant, I will continue the lesson." |
Alandra decided to keep her beautiful konkagami, she wanted to see how much more it would boom and what other colors it could spawn. |
"Can I be excused from this task Sir?" Marco asked, "Because I wouldn't want to kill your plants." |
Kayla decided that she had mastered looking after the Konkagami that she might try her hand at another plant. She got up and picked up one of the plants from the bench not too far from her and put it onto the table in front of her. She had no idea what it was but that was good it was a challenge for her. |
"Marco, if you manage to kill a plant by writing down something about it I'm going to take away your parchment and quill and kick you out of my class. Pick a plant." |
Heather looked around and spotted the plant she wanted. It was a black rose and she loved roses. She sat down and waited for what to do next. |

Claudian considered for a moment, looking at the plants for the students choosing. He made his way over to the corner and chose one with a heady fragrance and dark waxy leaves. |

Xana walked over to pick a plant, noticing Marco's plight. "'Mimosa pudica?" she asked Professor Erikson, raising an eyebrow and tilting her head toward Marco. |
Armand sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Yes, that is the mimosa pudica. Of all the plants, Marco, you had to choose that one. When it feels that it is in danger, it wilts to protect itself." |
Cassandra walked up to Erikson. "Me ne scegli una, perpiacere?" She asked him. ooc: Can you pick one for me, please? |
"It wilts to protect itself? Surely it would stand erect. More threatening position," Marco smiled. |
"Professor, can you tell me what it is that I have picked? Because I have absolutely no idea what it is" Kayla asked with her hand raised. |
"Un momento, perpiacere," he said softly to Cassandra. Turning to Marco he sighed. "It's to prevent it from getting eaten. If it's wilted, the animal will forgo it for something healthier." He went and got a cactus, handing it to Marco. It had a brilliant, spiky pink flower. "Try this one on for size." He looked about the classroom, considering slightly. "Penso che questo andra` bene," he said, getting a Lily of the Valley for her. He gave her a smile and pat her head before turning to Kayla's call. "Ah, that would be the Martagon lily, or Turk's Cap Lily. Rather interesting blossoms." |
"Oh right" Kayla whispered. Yep that just about cleared that up for her, she tried to look as though she knew what the hell that was but she doubted very much that he was going to believe that. |
Amelia gulped as the professor told them to pick a plant. As she had killed her Konkagami, she was a bit hesitant about taking a plant because Herbology was really not her thing. But the sixth year was determined to at least make an effort. She stood up and walked over to where the plants were, settling on just an apparently plain green one. Picking it up, she sighed and took it back to her place, wondering what it was that she was studying. |

Apedemak wondered briefly looking at the various plants and finally selected a Bloodroot. The white and yellow flowers flourished above the crisp green basal like leaves. After appraising the specimens he selected one, seemingly at random, and returned to his desk near the brooding Slytherin Prefect. |
"Alright, now that we're all planted," he smirked, "let's get on to it. One of the first things would be to note the temperature. Currently this classroom is set to a fairly comfortable 21 degrees Celsius, so note that down. Why would we want to record the daily temperature?" |
Cassandra picked up her book and read up on the Lily of the Valley. Something about muggles religion... Tears of Mary... She wrote all of it down. And then began to smile... the language of flowers nearly brought a tear to her eye... Happiness... that would be nice. She turned to Apedemak, her smile still gracing her face. |

He eyed the plant. It looked spiky. He pressed his finger to the spine. Ow that bloody hurt. He accidentally knocked the plant over. The soil spilt on the desk. He looked around, picked the plant up and swept the soil into Cassandra's bag infront of him. |
"So we won't make it too hot or cold, because that would endanger our plants." Alandra said as she raised her hand. |
