I am very pleased to announce our first Gryffindor of the month, as chosen by your prefect and quidditch captain:
Krissy Moon!
Krissy is a new Lion this year. She has been outstanding so far this term, working hard to earn house points for Gryffindor by attending classes, turning in homework, and just being a good hardworking student. Kerry Brandywine conducted a little interveiw to get to know her. Kerry's questions are in red, and Krissy's answers in black. First of all, I’d like to say congratulations on being sorted into Gryffindor!! We’re are so happy to have in our house.
Thank you so much! I'm really happy to be a part of Gryffindor!
So, I guess the first question is to tell us a little bit about yourself. We’d love to get to know you a little bit better.
Hmm, I'm not sure what to tell you. I've just found out all sorts of sordid things about myself... I was born in County Clare, Ireland.Which explains me brogue. Me mum was a witch, she died a few weeks before I got me letter to Hogwarts. The first night I was here I found out she had put a charm on me so I couldn't be recognized by some people that are looking for me. Now I have this wicked cool Blue/black and silver hair that I don't recall having when I was younger. I'm not quite sure why I told you that. anyhow, I was raised Muggle and I don't know much about magic, though I have read about CoMC since I was a little girl!
What were your first impressions as you entered Hogwarts?
Oh I was so overwhelmed! This place is ginormous! The ceiling in the Great Hall is the most fantastic thing I have ever seen. Never in all my imagination did I picture myself living in such a magnificent place.
How excited were you when the sorting hat placed you in Gryffindor?
Well, to be honest I was terrified! I have never found myself to be overtly brave. but I am loyal to me friends. Now that I think about it I was very silly to be so nervous, I couldn't be happier in any other house!
Did you enjoy the opening feast?
Oh it was brilliant! The food was so delicious and abundant. I think I had two desserts! Plus I made new friends, and even spoke with an amazingly sweet and nice Hufflepuff boy.
Tell us what did you think when you first walked into the Gryffindor Common Room? Was it everything you expected or more?
It looked so cozy and warm. I love the leather seats by the fire. It's me favorite place to curl up and read. I didn't really know what to expect, but it was beyond anything I could have ever dreamed.
In your opinion what makes Gryffindor so unique?
Well, I think it's the fact that we are all so different, yet work so well with one another. Me best friend Taylie is like, me total opposite, yet I couldn't imagine me life without her now!
As a first year, did you arrive at Hogwarts with any certain expectations? Do they compare with what you’ve seen and experienced so far?
Well, I expected to be terribly lonely. I'm always afraid I won't fit in, or that people won't like me. I was so wrong though. I've made good friends and they seem to really want to help me adjust to the magical life!
Now that the term has begun, is there anything in particular you’re really looking forward to the most?
I look forward to Gryffindor winning the house cup! I've always been a tad bit competitive. Me mum always called me her "Little Warrior Lady". I'm doing my best to earn all the points I possibly can for our house. GO GRYFFINDOR!
What has been your most memorable moment so far?
Well the other day in DADA Camira, the slytherin first year had a spell go wrong on her. she had a seizure and I turned her on her side so she couldn't hurt herself. Me step-dad used to have seizures like that... But that isn't a good memory! Me most memorable good moment was when I got my traveling charm to work in class!Well I mean that's the one I'm sharing with you, the other one is embarrassing.
Have you met a lot of Gryffindors, and what do you think of your fellow housemates thus far? I hope we’ve made a good impression on you.
Well I've spoken to quite a few Gryffindors and they all seem very nice. I'd like to get to know more of them. I hope I've made a good impression on you all too! Haha!
If there’s anything question you could ask a fellow first year, or transfer student, what would it be and why?
"Are you as overwhelmed as I am?" I'd ask that because sometimes I still feel like this is all a dream and I'm going to wake up and have to go to ordinary muggle school, and then to me Opera lesson. This whole place is so incredibly cool.
Are there any questions you’d ask of the upper year students, as well?
"Does it ever get any easier to balance friends and classwork? How do you all manage to do all that and have time for boyfriends?(Or girlfriends) does the feeling of homesickness ever go away?" sorry I got a bit carried away there, I just wish I could read the future like me mum did.
It has been said that there is never a dull moment at Hogwarts, from what you have experienced so far, would you agree?
Completely. But it is wickedly cool and I wouldn't change it for all the Galleons in Gringotts!
Do you have any parting words for you fellow Gryffindors?
Sure, umm... This is the biggest honor I've ever had. I've always blended into the background and I'm shocked that I was even picked let alone so early on. I hope we can all be good friends in the next seven years. Oh! I almost forgot! Gryffindor RULES!!
