Professor Light walked into her classroom, looking around it fondly. She would definitely miss the tiny white-walled room. Professor Light tapped on the board with her wand and thin white writing appeared on it:

"Muggle Studies Lesson One: Muggle and Wizard Relations of the Past"
Professor Iulianna Light

Professor Light smiled and sat down happily on top of her desk. This was going to be a nice term... a term covering some very hard and somewhat upsettting topics, but a good term all the same.

ooc: This classroom will be open for approx 4-5 hours, so since this lesson will naturally be slow moving and discussion based, so do not feel uncomfortable continuing your RP even when I'm not online.

Esmeralda walked into the classroom and smiled weakly at the professor and looked around if anyone else was there, but it seemed like she was the first one to come so she sat down and waited for everyone else quietly.

Ray entered the classroom and smiled to the professor, he sat on the first table in front of the professor, he took all his stuff out and took a deep breath a new class has begun

Qaz entered and went for a seat in the back of the room. She pulled a quill and parchment out of her bag.

Antwone walked into the classroom feeling somewhat prepared. He had read the first two chapters of the Muggle Studies book and he had a muggle mum.

"Hello professor, having a good day?"

Antwone took his seat in the second row and looked up to the professor waiting for a response as he took out his book, parchment, ink bottle and quill.

Ariana entered the Muggle room, a bright fake smile on her face as she looked around for a spot to sit. Finding one, she hoped this would be a good distraction from her problems. "Hello professor!" she said with flsae cheer. Taking out her books, quill and ink she waited.

Hazel entered the classroom and looked around. She walked further in, taking a seat in the middle of the classroom. Sitting down, she took out her stuff and waited for others.

Amelia bounced into the Muggle Studies classroom, rather excited for this first class but wondering slightly what took so long for it to happen. She glanced around and upon seeing Ariana, she took a seat next to her. Once settled, she pulled out a notebook and pencil, and waited for class to begin.

Amelia looked to the front of the class, and smiled at the professor, "Hello Professor! How are you?"

Pauline stepped into the class excited about her lesson in this class. They alwasy did the coolest things in muggle studies. She took a seat in the middle of the class and awaited the proffesors achknowledgment to the class and her description of what they would do today.

Lauren bustled into Professor Light's classroom, her bag thrown carelessly over her left shoulder. Cinnamon-colored ringlets fell messily from the bun that hung loosely at the nape of her neck and, rather than reconstructing the bun, she instead was quite happy simply pushing them away every few seconds. Her robes were slightly wrinkled and tugged back by her bag, exposing a flash of the shoulder of the white blouse she wore underneath. She looked frazzled and disheveled; one look at her face, however, would tell that she was, for a change, immensely calm. After having eaten a slow breakfast in the Great Hall, she had spent her day doing nothing but reading and studying in the Slytherin common room and out by the lake. In the past two years, she constantly found it difficult to unwind and relax, her mind occupied only by the haunting thought of getting dreadful grades and turning in sloppily-done homework, but it seemed as if she was getting the hang of it lately: she had been taking her time walking, reading, copying notes, eating, even getting dressed and doing her hair; she had been not letting herself get stressed about her school or her social life; and she hadn't stayed awake past 1:00AM to do homework any night this week. And she was actually doing better in her classes than she had been before.

Blissfully unaware of her appearance {or, perhaps, aware and simply unconcerned}, Lauren dropped her bag next to an empty desk in the middle of the classroom and slid into its seat, feeling the hard wood catch her back as she relaxed against it. She pulled several sheets of parchment from her bag, along with several books, a quill, and a bottle of orange ink. She set them up in front of her, each one eventually finding its correct place for optimum convenience {old habits die hard - she couldn't be completely careless in one school term}, and then settled back once more in her chair, her arms loosely crossed in front of her, waiting for class to begin.

When bounced into the room, shoving chocolate into her mouth and smothering her lips with nice smelling chapstick. Henry the Toad would never get a girlfriend.

Professor Light smiled and waved at the students who greeted her as they entered. She a small jump, she hopped off of her desk and began to introduce herself.

"Alright, well welcome to Muggle Studies this term! I'm Professor Light, and I'm actually, honestly, really happy to be here. I love discussing the power of Muggle Wizard interactions... which makes me exceptionally excited for this term, where we will do just that. There are three lessons this term and we will devide the subject into Past, PResent and Future... although by no means is there anyway we can pull the three apart, although due to time constraints we will try." she chuckled.

"To those of you who are new to the class, welcome! I just want to remind you all of the rule of the class... no Quills, use a Muggle Pencil or Pen and perferably a notebook. If you don't have a Pen/Pencil, I can come over and charm your Quill so that you will have one only for the class period. While the rest of you gather your thoughts about Muggle Treatment in the past... and I'm talking WAY back, I'll come around to those of you with your hands raised and charm your quills."

Professor Light finished her speech with a small smile, hoping she hadn't talked to fast. She was eager to start the lesson afterall...

Ari slapped her foreheard and quickly put her quill and ink away, completely forgetting about the no quill rule. Pulling out a number 2 pencil and a eraser she sat back up grumbling to herself.

Qaz put her parchment and quill back in her bag and pulled out her favorite gel pen. She dug around a little more and found the small notepad she used as a planner. It would have to do.

Lauren raised her hand, a look of disappointment mixed with embarassment on her face. She hadn't known that a Muggle pen or pencil had to be used - she had them, of course, but she had just bought this new well of ink and really wanted to use it for class. Covering her disappointment, she lifted her head high and waited for Professor Light to swing by to bewitch her quill.

When stared down at the pencil in her hand. Were they supposed to use quills in other classes? Of course, most other people she knew did, but she only used ink when she reeeeeally really felt like it. That wasn't particularly often.

She flipped to a page free of doodles in her notebook and preceeded to fill the margin with stars, her own name entertwined with a few others, and random squiggles.

Professor Light moved around the room swiftly tapping the Quills of those students who didn't have a pencil. She patted Lauren's shoulder quickly, "Don't worry about it dear, and it will change back as soon as the class is done."

Once she had made her way around the room, she leaned back on her desk.

"Alright, so... Muggles. Let's start very basic. Who are they? What do we know about them? Why do we, or why should be care?"

ooc: if you raise your hand, assume you have been called on, lol.

Qaz raised her hand and answered. 'Muggles are non-magical people. We should care because we both inhabit the planet together. Besides, my dad and brother are Muggles.'

Ariana riased her hand, "Muggles are people who have no magical ability what so ever. They are basically the same as us, except they have no idea who we are, or if they do they know nothing about what it is we do. There are certain Muggles who do know about us, like the Prime Minister and people who are high in the government, sworn to secrecy. We should all care aabout Muggles because they're people just like us, have jobs, go to school and live their lives. There are wizards who dislike Muggles however, so we try to protect them." she replied, frowning slightly as she tried to recall her previous lessons. She blushed quickly sa she realized she was rambling. "Oops, sorry." she muttered quietly.

She'd asnwer some question sometime. SHe like muggles honestly.

Comforted a bit knowing that the change in her quill was very temporary {but still thoroughly disappointed to secure her bottle of sunshine orange ink back in her bag}, Lauren raised her hand to answer the posed question. "Muggles are humans with no magical ability. They are extremely important though, of course, not only because we inhabit this world with them but also because many of the greatest wizards - many wizards in general, in fact - are descendents of Muggles," she answered with a small, polite smile. She decided to add, "They also have created many inventions that we too use to make life easier and some that we could use if we only understood them, which is why learning about them is especially important."

Amelia smiled and raised her hand. Once called on, she answered in a clear voice, "Muggles are members of the non-magical community; they are ordinary people. We know that they tend to keep quiet about their knowledge of the wizarding community, that is... if they know about us at all. However, some muggles who come by knowledge of the magical world unconventionally do spread their knowledge, usually just for the publicity. Lastly, we should care because we share a world with them, and if we do happen to use magic in their presence, then we must know how to rectify the situation." Amelia paused at this, because she thought she had babbled enough. She twirled her hair around her pencil, hoping she didn't go into too much detail.

"Alright, some excellent information in those responces, 5 points to everyone who volunteered and answer." Professor Light nodded to the students.

"Ok, yes co-existence is important. But anyone who has opened a history book will notice many, many Muggle massacres and Anti-Muggle movements. That is what we will cover today. The attempt of wizards in the past to either co-exist or even eliminate Muggles. If you wish to take notes..." Professor Light paused, giving the few straggling students a chance to take out their stuff, "-this would be an excellent time to start."
