Hufflepuff HoH Office and Quarters The room is a combination of an office and lounge. The walls are lined with bookcases and portaits of witches and wizards. The desk is set next to a portrait bewitched so you see the whomping willow tree. The desktop is covered with maps and parchments that appear to be very old. There huge fireplace with a roaring fire that brightens the room. The are couches and chairs in a sitting area in front of the fire. A kettle hangs over the fire as if tea could be made and served at a moments notice. There are two doors on the right side of the room. You assume one leads to sleeping quarters of Jack Tolkien, the Head of House for Hufflepuff. The second door leads perhaps to the Hufflepuff common room. The room is comfortable and warm. It's hard to believe you are underground. |
"I am doing alright." She began looking around the room as she spoke. "I used to never really do anything, This is my sixth year so I should know alo of people but I know hardly any, Not many people seem to talk to me even if I try and introduce myself." She explained sighing a little. Sophie scratched her nose and looked up at her Head of House. |
"Sophie, I would suggest that you think about becoming involved in some extra activities. Quidditch is a possible option, you also can become more involved in your classes. Remember you sometimes have to be the one who makes the first move." Tolkien explained. "I am sure that you have more friends here at school than you realize." |
Jacqueline approached cold stone door and opened it quietly to hear the voices pondering through the warm night air. "You may come in" said a low voice from inside the room. "oh...eh..okay" She slipped through the door and stood there looking around the room. "I'll be with you in a moment" He said as he continued his conversation with a student. She walked over to the bookcase and took out Hogwarts, A History and sat on the couch. She couldn't help but listen to the conversation for a moment, but then focused on the book and was awaiting her turn.... |
Amelia ventured down to her head of house's office after taking a quick bath after the quidditch game. She'd never been down here despite having been here over a year already, but it seemed quite lovely. Having met Professor Tolkien in both charms class last term, and only a few times in the common room, he was still a new face in the young Hufflepuff's eyes. The sight of the roaring fire and portrait of the whomping willow, definitely made Amelia smile. As she approached his desk, her eyes darted around the room to take in the cozy atmosphere. Not really sure what to address him as, since he was no longer charms professor, she decided to use that professor term anyway, "Hello Professor. I'm Amelia Rose, but you probably already knew that." she laughed nervously, "I just had some questions about the ancient runes issue." She wasn't sure whether she should take a seat or not, so she just stood there waiting. |

"For now, I have assumed teaching Ancient Runes. I found no homework when I was in Deluca office so I would think the work you turned in is lost. You will need to come up with something to turn in to me. I am sorry, because having to the same assignment twice is never fair unless your work is not done well," explained Tolkien. |
Amelia nodded in understanding; she hated having to do work more than once, especially since she thought she did a fair job the first time. Where did that De Luca woman run off to anyway, that was so important to ditch her students? "Thank you Professor, it's a bit disappointing that I will need to do it twice, but anything for Hufflepuff." She gave a cheesy smile, "I am looking forward to having you as a professor again though." |

AJ knocked sharply on Tolkien's office door, the Hufflepuff Ray (kami12) following close behind. As soon as she was permitted to enter, she waited for Ray to enter and shut the door, beginning to speak, "Hello Professor Tolkien, this boy here, Ray, I believe his name was, I found him down by the wall with his wand pointed at a Ravenclaw's chest, apparently he just got angry and, accorind to him, 'even the best wizards can't control their emotions sometimes,'" she tried to quote as best as she could remember, "And I found that no harm had come to anyone, but I thought you might have a remedy to help with his anger issues, maybe." she finished off with a smile. |
Caitlin slowly entered Professor Tolkien's office. The last time she had been inside was more than a year ago when she realized that her beloved Hufflepuff Head of House was in fact, at one point, a Slytherin. She was so mad at him that she'd left. Now, however, was different; she was older and more mature and she knew he was no longer a Slytherin at heart. His office was exactly as she remembered. While some details were definatley different, the mass amount of things and clutter still stretched over his desk, proving that he was a great mind at work. She glanced around, looking for her Professor in the heaping quanities of items before her. Deciding, ultimatley, that the search was usless, she called out, "Er ... Professor Tolkien? Are you in here? I needed to ask you for a little bit of help on the Ancient Runes assignment ..." |

"I just ... I just don't understand it!" she cried, frustrated. She plopped down into a chair in front of his desk, blowing her bangs away from her eyes. "They just seem so important to me ... and even so, besides that, translating them is just so hard, especially depending on who wrote them originally. It's like ... like ..." She waved her hand around, trying to find a comparison that was drastic enough to meet the situation. "It's like trying to find a salamander egg in the bottom of a caludron - basically impossible!" |
"First thing is calm down. You aren't going to die if you make a mistake this time," Tolkien joked. "Later is might be a different story. It's a letter to letter transfer this time. Each rune represents a letter in English." |
"I could die!" she exclaimed, a hard look in her eyes. "This is just frustrating. How do you do it all? You must have an amazing mind ..." She looked up at him, a bit curious to know the man that was really underneath the surface. She didn't want to dwell on it too long; he was, after all, her professor and she was just there on the context of needing tutoring. "Okay ..." she sighed. "I can try this ... I can do it ... But why is there no C rune? How am I even supposed to be able to write my name in Ancient Runes if they aren't even nice enough to give us all of the letters?" |
"Ah...well there just isn't one. There a few other letters that don't have runes for them or you have two letters for the one rune. You have to make you're best intelluctal choice, in other you guess," Tolkien stated with a wee bit of humor in his voice. His hand reached up and pushed his untidy hair from his face and he made a mental note to cut it in the morning before his bath. |
When Professor Tolkien brushed his hair away from his face, it was like the whole world had slowed down and the only thing moving at regular speed was her heart. How could one man have so much and still be so intelligent? "S- so ... so, so ... So I just guess some times?" she finally managed to mutter. Part of her just wanted to gasp for breath but her brain didn't even seem to be working. "Isn't ... isn't that a little bit wrong?" She was hoping to keep him talking in hopes that she could regain herself. He was, after all, a bit older than her. Shaking her head, she tried to clear her thoughts, tapping her fingers on the chair all the while in hopes that he couldn't read her mind. |
