Gargoyle Entrance Near the gargoyle standing guard over the Headmistress's office, there is a comfortable sitting area for you to wait in. Pull up an armchair and relax. |
As he walked down the second floor corridor, Antwone remember what the Headmistress had told him during the opening feast. If you'll excuse me, young man, I have a speech to make. Perhaps we could continue this discussion later. How was is that Antwone didn't know anything about the Dark Lord when his father was a wizard who worked at the Daily Prophet! Had his father been hiding this information about this Voldemortist from Antwone. Did he think him to meek and feeble to handle the horrors of a Dark Lord?He asked a fifth year where her office had been and followed her direction to the gargoyle that stood before him. It took Antwone a long while to realize that the gargoyle would not move. "Er . . . I'm here to see the Headmistress please," he spoke uneasily. "Er . . . she said it would be okay to speak to her about something . . . something personal." Antwone thought himself ridiculous. He was talking to a gargoyle, a stone gargoyle that should no sign of any life. Thus, he sat. |
Rae was heading back from the nursery when she spotted someone waiting for her already. "I'm sorry, young man. I was held up down in the Defense corridor. Why don't we sit right here and chat, unless you'd like some privacy?" Rae settled herself into the overstuffed chair and smiled wamrly at him. |
Antwone was about to get up from his seat and start singing to the gargoyle for entrance we he saw the Headmistress walking towards him from behind the door that lead to the grand staircase. When the Headmistress sat herself down next to him and asked if he'd like privacy he looked to around the ostensibly deserted corridor. "No, I'm sure this will do, Headmistress," he said to her as he turned his head from the corridor. Before he began to speak again he looked about the Headmistress to see her smiling at him, making he feel more at ease at his ignorance of the case which he wanted to speak to her. "You see ma'am . . . I never knew about this Dark Lord until I read Hogwarts, A History. My father never told me and me mum's a Muggle so if he didn't have the capacity to tell me I'm sure he didn't tell her so I had no clue about him. I've already sent him a letter questioning why it is he never told but . . ." he realized he was explaining his ignorance moreso then asking the questions that he wanted to ask previously. "Ma'am, I was wonder, where he come from, his motives? I mean, is he anything like You-Know-Who? Does he have a group of death eaters like he? And also . . ." He was dreading what he was to say next, he didn't even looke the Headmistress in the eye. "Are we safe here at Hogwarts? In Hogwarts, A History I read that students have been killed by him through the Unforgivable Curse and that . . . he killed your --," Antwone cold not countinue, his face rushed over with a heat of red through his cheeks and forhead. What he meant to say is that he knew that the Dark Lord had murdered the Headmistress's spouse and he was not sure how much it would have hurt if he were to bring him up. Quickly, Antwone start fiddling with his hands, enthralled by the wrinkles on his skin. |
"You have a lot of questions," Rae responded with some amusement. "I can't tell you all that you're asking. Professor Lainey has done a thorough study on Voldemortist in recent years, and she'd better serve you in discussing his motives. He's evil, that much is for certain, and he's killed many. But we don't live in fear, and we are as well protected as can be. You have to trust that my safety precautions will be enough." |
You have to trust that my safety precautions will be enough. In spite of himself, Antwone believed the Headmistress entirely and wholly. No objections were uttered from his lips after that moment. Still he was intersted with the mention of Professor Lainey and her "thorough" study of Voldemortist. He remembered reading about her somewhere in Hogwarts, A History as well. Antwone racked through his brain quickly and visualized her smile and her dark hair looking up at him from the "Current Staff" page. But then, slowly, he realized that she had died twelve years ago . . . along with Professor Rae's husband! "Headmistress, Professor Lainey wouldn't happen to be the one who died twelve years ago would she?" Antwone asked still going over the page of her in his mind. "She still teaches, right? I mean, as a ghost, right?" |
The boy had done his homework. "She was dead, but now... she's not. Anymore." Rae tapped her fingers on the arm of the chair. "There was a spell we performed. I'm sure you can see why Voldemortist wanted that book so badly." |
"S-So this book . . . it can b-bring people back to life!?" Antwone was amazed and horrified. This books seem to hold so much power and so much interest to this Dark Lord. |
"The spells contained in it are varied and powerful, but yes... one of them allowed a ghost to become corporeal once again. It was at great sacrifice to teh school, and it divided the staff and students. It was our time of greatest weakness, I should think. Excepting that it brought my best friend back from the dead, of course." |
Antwone nodded. He wanted to press on why it was that the Headmistress did not bring back her own husband but he decided against it with good reason. Sensing that his time was spent with her he turned to her and baded her a fairwell. He stood up and bowed to her respectively, realizing that he was not much shorter then she, if not her same height. "I thank you for your kindness, Headmistress. I should be heading to that tarot party. I enjoyed speaking with you." he smiled and nodded his head again in respect, a respectful nod which acknowledge his admiration of her. |
Cora ran towards the Gargoyle Entrance, panting. She looke up at it, and frowned. She glanced around. This was urgent! Someboy had used the cruciatus curse, and it had hit! ooc: Crucio was used down by the lake: Quote:

A black bat flew towards Cora and dropped a small note at her feet: Quote:

Cora read through the note a few times and nodded. She walked away before the Headmistress came, not wanting to disturb her. She headed in the direction of the Library. |
dani walked up to the Gargoyle and sat. |
Rae emerged from the office, her hand in Doyle's. "Hello, dear," she nodded at Dani. "I'll be back in a few minutes." She nearly pulled him all the way to the DADA corridor. |
"Excuse me Professor, but if you aren't busy, may I talk to you for a while?? Strange things are happening to me professor.... And I don't know why." Christine said in a rather shaky tone. It was true. Strange things were happening to her. She remembered the night before when she sat alone in the common room, she was soo mad the book she was holding exploded. Of course, she fixed it. But still, she was noticing it happened more often and unannounced it was getting more powerful every time it happened. She really needed the help. |

Mystie came to the Headmistress' Office and stopped at the Gargoyle Entrance, 'I would like to see the headmistress please. It is about the house elf that was taking care of her girls'. After say that she sat in an armchair and waited to see the headmistress. |
Ryan raced into the seating area, stitch searing at her sides. She sat down, her eyes misting over as she attempted not to cry. She really didn't want to do what she was doing - but she really had no choice. Unless there was some miracle that could be performed, Ryan would do anything in her power to leave Hogwarts. |
Rae appeared, moving at a dead trot. She was startled to find a small crowd outside her office. "What... I'm in a hurry, so if you can tell me quickly what you need, I might be able to help." |
"Fight at Orchard"Dani said. |
"Alright, I'll owl the Groundskeepers and see if one of them can break it up. Thank you for letting me know." She smiled thinly. |
'I would like to talk about the house elf Argyle I think is her name. I f you do not mind I would like to do it in your office. It well only take a minute or so', said Mystie. |
Ryan looked up to see the headmistress. 'I - it doesn't matter. I'll go back to the common room,' she said, more to herself than anything. With a heavy heart, she sprinted away. |
