First Charms Class: Part 1 First it was a trip to the Ministry and then it was the search for missing daughters which prevented Professor Branxton from teaching his classes. But, finally, he had to admit that he needed to teach, regardless of the fruitless search for the twin toddlers. With a heavy heart, Professor Branxton opened the classroom door and moved to sit behind the desk at the front of the large, airy, classroom which was so much different from the classroom he had previously occupied. |
Katelyn entered the classroom, rather nervously. This had been the class she was looking forward to most of all. She smiled at the professor, and muttered a soft hell before taking her seat. She noticed that she was the only one here so far, and blushed. She got out her chamrs textbook, and folded her hands over it, waiting. |
Josey walked into the charms classroom. "Hello, Professor," she said before sitting down. She pulled out her textbook and leaned back in her chair to wait for class to start. THe only other student there was a first year, so she silently flipped through the textbook. |
Jaimine walked into the charms class with smiles she took a seat up front and emptied her bag on the table, setting her charms books infront of her and her wand by them and her ink pot and quill at the side. She looked up at the professor and smiled warmly at him "Hello professor." she noticed his sad eyes and frowned "Are you alright professor?" |
Ray entered the classroom excited that the charm class had finally started. He smiled at the professor "hello professor, I'm so excited" said Ray. He noticed that Katelyn, a girl he dueled, was the only one in the classroom. He saluted her by waving his hand and he got out his charms textbook as well as his wand and waited. |
Katelyn waved at Ryan, but wasnt really paying attention, she was flipping through the pages in her textbook, while waiting for class to begin. |
Daphne walked in and smiled to the Professor. She took a seat and set her wand on the desk. She pulled out her colour-changing ink and a blue-speckled quill. She was ready for class; this was her mother's favourite class when she was at Hogwarts. |
Walking into the classroom, Nat noticed that the Professor was already in the classroom. She smiled at him as Nat took a seat at the back of the classroom, placing her bag under her desk. Sliding her hair behind her ear, she waited for her classmates to turn up to get the lesson under way, smiling at the other students that were there. |
Ashley walked into the classroom and sat down. Smiling she noticed alot of students around her and she gave them a quick look over and got her things ready for class. She loved this class and wanted to be ready. |
Tara walked into the classroom and looked around. Ryder wasn't there yet, maybe he wasn't taking charms. Oh well another boring class she thought as she took a seat next to a gryfindor named Ashley. she took out her stuff and said, "Hi im Tara..." |
Ben walked into the charms classroom and sat next to a ravenclaw first year girl, Daphne. He pulled out his book and looked at all the people in the room while he waited for class to start. |
"Yes, I'm quite fine, thank you," Professor Branxton replied and then stood as the rest of the students filed in. He waited until they were all seated before he spoke. "Welcome to Charms Class. I am Professor Branxton. Some of you may remember me from a few years ago when I taught potions. "We won't be using our wands right away as I like to start my classes with a bit of discussion. What are charms?" |
Kennedy raised her hand and replied, "Charms are a type of magic spell concerned with enchanting an object to behave in a way that isn't normal for that object." |
Kimberly walked into the classroom and smiled at the professor, she was really excited for Charms class, it sounded fun. She sat down in the back of the class and pulled out her quill, ink, and parchment, and looking rather hopeful she put her wand in her pocket where she could easily grab it. |
Jai blinked and raised her hand "Charms are magical spells used for tasks either simple or great to make work easier and faster." |
Kimberly started writing as soon as the question was asked, she hoped to learn a lot in this class. |
Katelyn wrote her name, the date, and the class at the top of her paper, and wrote down the first question in her neat, script handwriting. She loved taking notes...yes, nerdy, but she did. She waited for the correct answer to be said before writing it down. She didnt like to riase her hand herself, she hated speaking in front of people. |
Not usually one for speaking in class, Nat put her hand up and said in quite a weak voice, " A charm is a type of spell concerned with enchanting an object in to behaving a certain way that is contrary to its norm." She said all this staring at her desk, trying to block out any pairs of eyes that might be peering at her. |
Charms are types of spells concerned in enchanting object to behave in a way that is contrary to there usual function. |
" Hello Profesor! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Melony Lynn Kangston. Charms is my favorite as well as my strongest subject. I couldn't help hearing about your children. I am very sorry. Perhaps my father can help you. He is an Auror. His name is Marcus Kangston. Maybe he could talk to some of his friends in the ministry to get them to help you search for your kids." Melony smiled at him. |
Ashley walked into the classroom and sat down. She got her things ready and waited for the teacher. |
Antwone raised his hand, "Charms are the manipulation of objects by means of the precise waving of the wand and the speaking of appropriate incantations." |
"Excellent. You all have the gist of it. Pretty much anything that isn't a curse or transfiguration could be consider a charm. Charms are most often used to make an object behave in a way that is abnormal for that object, creature, or plant. "What sorts of charms are you familiar with? Which charms have you mastered already?" |
Katelyn scratched her head with her quill, and thought. She didnt know if this was a retorical question or not, so she didnt raise her hand, but she had mastered Wingardium Leviosa. |
"The flying char, - Wingardium Leviosa," Nat suggested, shuffling slightly in her chair. |
