Kimberly stood up and took a cup, she was extra careful, it would be just her luck to run into something and drop it.

Jackie carefully took a tea cup, and handling it gingerly, brought it back to her table.

Nat did as the Professor directed and collected a blue tea cup and returned to her table to get out the way of the other students. She wasn't a big tea drinker, so wasn't really looking forward to this.

Belle got a cup and brought it back to her table. She wondered how old the cups were.

Qaz went and picked up a delicate blue cup and returned to her seat.

Katelyn frowned, and got up to get a teacup. She never really was a big fan of tea, so she just grabbed one, and sat back down next to Qaz. She scribbled something down on her parchment, and then put her quill down, and placed a hand gently on the cup.

Joe got up from her seat as she grabbed one of the frail pink teacups. She didn't want to be the first one to break a cup in the class so she walked carefully back to her seat with both hands on the cup.

"Right," Blaylock said, clapping her hands together twice to get their attention, "Before I tell you my preferred method...does anyone here have any idea at all how tea-leaf readings are normally done?"

Joe put her hand up.

"Do you not pour yourself some tea, dirnk it then flip the glass over on the saucer and turn it a certain amount of times. Or something along those lines."

She hoped she wasn't mistakened

Cassandra took a cup and brought it back to her table. She was careful not to drop it.

"One drinks the tea and then looks at the leaves at the bottom, you look at the form it makes and that has a corresponding meaning." She said to the Professor's question.

Katelyn rolled her eyes, and shook her head. No, i dont. If i did, i wouldnt be here, she thought to herself, and she looked at the teacup. It was very pretty, and much more interesting than this class.

Qaz raised her hand and replied, 'After a cup of tea has been poured, without using a tea strainer, the tea is drunk or poured away. The cup should then be shaken well and any remaining liquid drained off in the saucer. The diviner now looks at the pattern of tea leaves in the cup and allows the imagination to play around the shapes suggested by them. They might look like a letter, a heart shape, or a ring. These shapes are then interpreted intuitively or by means of a fairly standard system of symbolism, such as: snake (enmity or falsehood), spade (good fortune through industry), mountain (journey of hindrance), or house (change, success).'

Belle raised her hand once again. "Tea is poured into a cup without the use of a strainer. The one seeking psychic help, the inquirer, consumes all of the tea in the cup. The leaves remain in the bottom of the cup which the diviner observes to see what patterns are formed."

"Another method is to leave a little moisture in the cup. This allows the leaves or dregs to be swished around. The cup is the upturned into the saucer. The reader picks up the cup and begins examining the formation of the dregs."

Katelyn gave Qaz a look of surprise. How did she know all this? And she sure did act like she liked Divination. How could anyone like this class? It was garbage! It had no truth in it whatsoever. But all the same, Katelyn kept her mouth shut.

Blaylock nodded, "Yes, something along those lines..." She looked at the students named Ray and Qaz with surprise obvious on her face, "My...I'm quite flattered that you both took the time to memorize the textbook and you're both absolutely correct, of course."

She waved her wand to conjure up several pots of tea which appeared on each one of the circular tables, "Pour yourself a cup, dearlings and I'll take you through this step by step."

Katelyn huffed, and poured herself some tea. She looked down in the cup, and frowned. She did like tea, though, and that could be a ray of sunshine. She smiled at the professor before looking back down at the tea, waiting for instructions...

Cassandra stood and poured herself a cup. The warmth was comforting to her and she smiled and she held the cup with both hands.

Belle poured herself a cup of tea and wrapped her hands around the cup.

Jocasta took the tea and poured some into her cup. She looked at with a discusted look on her face. She really never like tea, actually she rather hated drinking it. She hoped that the professor wouldn't make her drink the liqued. Staring down at the brown in the cup she waited for the next instructions.

Qaz turned red at the Professor's comment. She poured herself a cup of tea, revolted at the thought of drinking it and dared to raise her hand and ask a question. 'Excuse me Professor, but what would be the affect would adding honey to make the tea more palateable? Would your reading be sweeter, too?'

Kimberly muttered "wow: under her breath, she was still kind-of new to this magic stuff. She poured herself a cup-o-tea and waited for the instructions. While waiting she glanced around the room, all the students looked eager except one ravenclaw girl who was looking venimously at her friend. Kimberly turned away thinking "wow, whats going on there?"

After asking her question, Qaz gave Katelyn a sly wink.

Blaylock let out a very un-Blaylock-like giggle at the Ravenclaw's question. "Oh dear, I'm afraid it wont have any such effect...you're welcome to add whatever you wish to your tea to make it more bearable for you. Although, I can't imagine why you all look so terrified at the prospect of drinking tea."

She took a sip of her own, "It's quite the best thing ever invented, I believe."

She stood up and walked around to watch the students as they poured and waited for instructions, "You're to let the tea steep for a minutes, so relax for a moment and think of what question you want to ask of yourselves...or your tea leaves."

OOC: hpfan4eva, I know that, but reading about how stupid this class is 5 times over gets quite painful. I'm sure you understand.

Katelyn chuckled slightly at Qaz, and wondered if they could drink the tea yet. It was very addicting, and Katelyn would probably drink all her tea in one sip. She heard the professor, and raised an eyebrow before closing both her eyes, thinking.
