She laughed and scratched the back of her head. "I'm really sorry it slipped out of my hand." She took the wand from Sam's hand. "Thanks."

She smirked and laughed a bit on the inside. "You really are looking for trouble aren't you." She brushed her hair back. "Can you do non-verbal spells?" She said quietly into his ear.

"It's cool," said Sam smiling. "It's a wand, it's magic," Sam smirked. It must have just been a coincidence. Sam thought for a minute. Yes, he learned how to do non-verbal spells when he was in third year, although he wasn't the best in the class. "I try," he said to Joe smirking back at her.

Taika Ai rushed into the room.

"Sorry, I'm late Professor. I've been sick," she said with a sniffle. She took a seat and noticing that others had their wands out, did the same. She looked around. "What did I miss?" she wondered a loud.

"Hey Taika Ai! We are practing duel stances." Hannah said smiling at Taika Ai, "Want to be my partner?"

They walked their five paces and then Joe turned around quickly on her spot. Her wand come out of her pocket and she pointed it towards Sam. His wand didn't do anything all that special. It just dropped down to the ground below him, seeming that he was just being clumsy and it slipped out of his hand. She gave a little smirk.

"You might want to grasp onto that wand tighter. We don't need you dropping it every time you turn."

Taika Ai looke from Hannah to the girl she'd not yet met. "Erm... hi," she said to her, then she turned to Hannah. "I didn't know you were in this class."

She stood up and looked between the girls. She didn't know one, and didn't want to hurt her feelings and say 'no', she could be a potential friend and seeing as how few people she still knew, antoher friend was more than welcome. Her eyes traveled back to Hannah. This girl was already her friend and she might be hurt if she said 'no'. Oh, what a dilema.

"Erm..." she said. "Whoever wants to help. I don't want to be any trouble, but I'm sure I could use all the help I can get," she said. There that was a safe, no-hurt-feelings answer.

Carolyn shrugged. "Apparently you already have a friend who wishes to practice with you and can't stand to practice by herself. Go ahead, I work better by myself anyway." She walked off to another part of the classroom that wasn't near students and practiced by herself, doing better than she had before.

Sam smirked again and bent down to pick up his wand. "One more try, then," he said his grey eyes glinting slightly as he bowed and walked five paces away from her turning around sharply and pulling his wand out of his pocket. This time he beat her to it and he smirked at Joe. He smiled and walked towards her again and said softly to her. "Want me to show you a non-verbal spell?"

Faye cringed, the Gryffindor who was late was going to cost them house points, being late always cost points.

Taika Ai raised an eyebrow as the girl departed. She didn't seem too pleased with being turn away, even if she did 'work better by herself'.

Honestly, Taika Ai thought, I wasn't trying to be rude.

She turned to Hannah. "Well, erm... shall we?" she asked, trying to shrug off the feeling that she'd somehow hurt the other girl's feelings.

"What kind of spell?" She asked him as they bowed once again.


she knew that youcould pretty much do pretty much any kind of spell non-verbal as long as you had the power to. She assume it was quite a simple spell to do.

Aniri had been watching the other students as she practiced by herself, seeing that just about everyone already had a partner. Then she noticed another girl who, like herself, was practicing by herself, so she went up to her.

"Hey there, I'm Aniri, I think your name is..Carolyn?"

She really was rather nervous.

Keller walked to one side of the room and prepared to practice his stance and quick wand retrieval. The first time he did it he fumbled his wand quite embarrassingly. The next couple of times after that did not go much better however. After a couple dozen times of jumping into stance and whipping his wand from the inside of his robes, Keller took a step closer to the wall and leaned against it looking around the room at his fellow classmates all practicing, he looked for a partner but didn’t see one. This didn’t bother him he was doing fine on his own, but a partner would have been fun. He rested for another moment or so then continued practicing his moves to the wall.

Casey got into positon and looked around at everyone who was doing it. They seemed to be doing exactly the same thing she was. "good" she thought to herself. She continued practicing.

Emily kept practicing her stance, looking around at the people who were partnering up. She saw some of them using magic and gasped. They had been expressly told not to do so. Well, if everyone else is... she thought, looking down at her DADA book, her right (wand) hand itching to do a spell. She flipped the book back to near the end and looked at some of the more interesting spells. What am I doing?! Emily chided herself. She sat her still unused wand down next to the book, closing it, and then picked up her quill. She then continued practicing her stance using her quill instead of her wand. I hope no one thinks I'm crazy she thought; then she sighed as she thought It's the only way and gazed longingly at her wand.

Rapunzel was in the midst of practicing her bows (which were extremely awkward; she wasn't sure how low to go...) when she looked over and saw Emily practicing by herself.

"Hi Emily," she said. "Remember me? Rapunzel? I think we met in the common room a while ago..."

Taika Ai watched the others around her and soon realized what exactly she was s'pposed to be doing. She soon began copying the others.

It was rather awkward bowing to no one, especially when she didn't understand the reason behind it at all. She really hated being a transfer student right about now. Stuck as a first year when she was so much older, forced into a world she didn't understand, with customs and a language that were so strange.

It was all fine and dandy reading about it in books, but really, this was getting ridiculous!

Since Emily hadn't noticed her, Rapunzel wandered over to a boy practicing bowing to a wall and spoke up. "Hey, do you need a partner?" she asked politely.

Heather looked around she needed a partner but didn't say anything.
