You knock upon the door and a baritone voice bids you enter. You step into the mahogany shelf-lined room and look around. The shelves cover nearly every inch of wallspace, save for the fireplace. The shelves are lined with all sorts of books, parchments, jars, vials, and boxes. There is a fire in the grate and upon the fire is a cauldron bubbling with a thick green liquid. Just a few feet from the door, you bump into a leather chair, placed before a large mahogany desk which matches the shelves. There's a single photo perched on the desk and it's tilted so you can just make out the image of the headmistress. A tall, salt and pepper haired, man dressed in black robes with glasses sits behind the desk. He pulls off his glasses and takes a hankerchief out of a pocket. He gestures to the chair with the glasses before cleaning them and placing them back on his face. "What is it you would like to speak with me about?"

Not even the second day of term, and Cameron already had questions.

But for this specific question, she could only ask two people; her head of house, and the Headmistress. Cameron had decided upon Professor Branxton due to the fact that perhaps he would be more sympathetic.

Before entering, Miss Kingsly made sure her long, waist length raven hair was neat and tidy, that her skirt was an acceptable length, and that her top was not too tight. She did not need her wardrobe to be making her seem unprofessional at the moment.

Cameron sighed and closed her heavily lined eyes, which were at the moment adorned with fantastic false lashes, and knocked three times precisely upon the door.

To her surprise, the door opened on it’s own. She debated for a moment weather it would be rude to simply walk in, but she felt that perhaps she would not be faulted.

She stepped in, her tall heeled boots that only added to her towering height clicked ominously.

“Yes, well, Sir. I have a question to ask of you.” Cameron said, walking to the chair that sat opposite Professor Braxton’s desk.

“May I sit?” She asked with utmost ease, although in her mind she was not so serene. This conversation could easily turn sour.

Cameron's head whirled around as she heard the small Ravenclaw speak. At this moment, she did not particularly wish to be interupted.

Her eyes flashed momentarily towards the girl who seemed to have no particular reason for simply barging into the room, without so much as a knock.

Honestly...manners have gone to waste... She thought internally.

Sean halted outside of the Potion Masters officed and lightly knocked on the door. He waited for the Professor to answer.

"Yes, please sit down," Professor Branxton replied to the Slytherin student before looking up to address the Ravenclaw. "Very nice to meet you and I will see you in class. For now, I need to speak with this gentleman."

Once the girl was out of the office, Doyle closed the door with a flick of his wand. "What can I help you with?" he asked.

ooc: Just so you know, I'm not Slytherin HoH anymore. I am currently unable to change my titles so it's stuck in there until the technical peeps can help me fix it.

Professor Belle (adorable_lil_thing, Astronomy) is the real Slytherin HoH this term.

“Professor…you were our Head of House last year, yes? Well…” For once in her life, Cameron was hesitating. This was very uncharacteristic of her. “You see, upon receiving my new book list for Hogwarts this year, I was surprised to find that I had in fact not made Prefect.” She sighed, remembering her Father’s disappointment.

“I was simply wondering,” She said, now sitting up straight and tall in her seat. “What prevented me from becoming a Prefect? I thought all of my grades were in order…” She crossed her legs, a frustrated gesture in her own way. Perhaps it was that rather…erm…heated verbal exchange that she had last year with a fellow Slytherin, a seventh year at the time. Either way, both girls had to be restrained, lest they rip each other’s hair out.

"While your current Head of House and the Headistress would be best suited to answer this question as it would be they who chose prefects, I would be inclined to say that it takes more than just grades to make a prefect," Professor Branxton answered.

Although a mere first year, Ally was not shy around something that had to do with Potions. She loved to mix ingredients together and see what came of them. She respected the subtletry in th art of potion-making, however.

Ally got to the Potions masters office and knocked soflty.

Professor Branxton dismissed the student then, kept his door open for the flow of students to come through once again. "The first potions lesson should begin within the week," he answered the Ravenclaw boy, Mr. ? (ooc: I need a last name for my Prof. posts

"The exact date and time will be posted when it is available... Next."

Rae knocked gently on Doyle's door and pushed it open halfway. "Hello, love... do you have a moment?" She had to tell him. She... needed to throw up.

Doyle looked up and smiled gratefully as his wife walked in. "Of course. I was just finishing up my lesson plans," he replied, standing up so he could close and lock the door.

She took his hand happily and tried hard not to ruin what was supposed to be a good moment. A perfect moment. "I've had an interesting day. I had a question for you. Do you suppose you could brew me something?"

"Is interesting good or bad?" he asked, knowing it could go either way with the students and guests running around the castle. "And yes, of course I could brew you something. What do you need?"

"Interesting is good, I hope," she reached into her pocket and handed him the vial she'd gotten from Numel. "I got some of this serum from Ariana, but I don't want to bother her for it again when I have a handy Potions Master sharing my chambers." Now... would he understand what the prenatal serum meant?

Doyle took the vial from her hand and examined it carefully to be sure he knew exactly what it was he would be brewing and how much research he would need to do the job properly. It actually took several moments as he went through lists of ingredients and whatnot in his head for it to sink in what it was he was holding and what it meant. He looked up slowly and swallowed before holding the vial out to her. "For you?" he said, glad he hadn't choked the words out but, needing to clarify. Of course her face told him the answer before she could respond and his hands went immediately for his glasses and hankerchief.

"I... I don't know what to say," he replied, speechless as he furiously cleaned his glasses. Then, he realized he hadn't properly answered her question and she was probably thinking that he hated the idea, that his nervousness was stemming from his inability to tell her it wasn't a good thing when it was, complicated though it was. "I mean, yes, of course it is a wonderful thing," he ammended, putting the vial and his glasses on his desk so he could embrace his wife.

"I think so too," Rae sighed in relief and let him hold her for a moment. "I know the timing is bad, and we'll have to figure things out, but..." She grinned at him, feeling really good about this for the first time. "You're going to be a daddy."

He smiled down at her and chuckled softly. "I think that is a more difficult concept for me to grasp than the fact that I am married. I'm a bit nervous at the prospect as you have probably already ascertained but, I am happy. Is there anything I need to do for you? Do you need anything? Can I make any arrangements? Anything other than the potion that you require?"

"Put up with me," Rae patted his cheek gently. "I haven't felt well in a while, and I know I'm supposed to have this glow, but I don't feel very glow-y yet. I just feel very tired and nauseated. Not the endearing words you wanted, I'm sure."
