Maybe you can interview students who saw the match, you could talk to quiddich players, you can interview the referee, you can try to focus on what happened (by not adding harsh tones, and so on?)

As Francis said, I would suggest interviewing Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw players, the referee and spectators. Maybe you should also interview the Slytherin captain because the forfeit does affect who that team plays in the final.

Well, just the fact that because of different timezones I don't know whether I could get the interview today, or if I would have to do it tomorrow, the deadline, so I sent my first draft (devoid of interviews) on to Lightstar, and hopefully by the time I have to mail through the second draft through the second draft (with interviews) or that was the plan at least lol

Yes, just insert the interviews on the second draft (only this time as an exception because the due date is so early on).
That's why for interviews you should try to PM or talk to them in MSN (most people have MSN -- and if they dont have it listed ask them in a PM).
Remember to make your interviews IC.

Ahhhh, apparently 1 hour of MSN a day was too much for my parents *sighs* I don't have it anymore, but thanks for the suggestions, I just want to make sure my article is not seen as cocky... 'Specially that I'm in the Claw's quidditch Team... I want to make it as neutral as possible. Interviewing the Slytherin Quidditch Captain sounds interesting. I sent a few questions (in IC) to Kay. 'Nyways, I'm just gonna put lots of details
Oh yes, and perhaps you want me to put this in the FAQ or not in this forum at all, if so, I'll edit but just a quick question:
Is it because I'm a journalist that I can see the House Elves Headquarters Forum... Because since I've been one, it's been visible, but I don't think I'm supposed to see it...

How had article writing been coming for you guys? Is it as easy or harder than you thought?
Just curious, we need some conversation, XD

Oh yes, please do give us input. We are thinking about changing the timeline a bit for next term so that it is more spread out. Sooo give us your input. Be blunt! Tell us all (good and bad) so that we know what else needs to be changed |

For me, finding a topic was more difficult than writing the article. I wanted to pick a topic that was unique and no one else would think of. That's what I found to be the hardest part. Once I found a topic the writing wasn't that difficult for me.
This might seem weird, but I really liked getting my first draft back with lots of comments. All those comments meant I had alot to edit, but I really liked that.
As for the timeline, the only complaint I can make is the amount of time we had for the first draft. I personally felt like I was scrambling to come up with something and I didn't really like how my first draft was written. I would have liked to have had more time, but I'm glad Francis was honest with her criticisms.
All in all, great job you guys. Thanks for being willing to put so much effort into the Quill.

I liked the fact that we had to drafts, usually I hate doing that, but all the feedback was great, thanks.
I think I would've had a hard time picking a subject if I wasn't the quidditch journalist, because everyone wants to do the school plot but 5 people can't do it. Is suppose the Merlin's Beard thread in the Suggestion Box would be useful.
I personally think that the time-line was fine, it wouldn't make much of a diffrence to me since I'd probably still do it last minute... But perhaps a longer amount of time before the first draft, my first draft was particularly awful because half of my article needed the interview answers which I did not have. Also I noticed that I was a journalist two days before we had to give the first draft, if I had waited a few more days before comming online, I would have been in big trouble... I don't know if anyone else actually had this problem but when I interviewed demented_death_eater, the first line was something like this: Sorry, this is short noticed but I learnt about this yesterday and it's due tomorrow.
Otherwise, I had fun writting the article and look forward to reading the quill ant to writting again next year.

| I thought that the timeline was perfect. But I agree in thinking that we needed a little more time with the actual first draft. I didn't get to include a few things till the second draft. But thats ok.
Um I knew the article I wanted to do, but I figured if someone else took it I had a few other ideas of what to do. So the idea part wasn't that hard. The hardest part for me was keeping it in context. In the second part I took a few things out. It wasn't because a character hadn't seen it, but because MY particular character hadn't seen it. But thats ok I still liked how it turned out...
I'm really excited to see everyone elses articles, though. And the feedback from other people. That I think will be one of the best parts. Just to see what everyone else thought of the Quill.
But I want to throw out a big THANKYOU to the two of you for putting this back together. I am very glad you gave us the opportunity to do this...I had soo much fun doing it!

Haha, well, you WILL have more time next time for your first draft. We will usually have around whole month, and this time we barely had about 2 weeks. So I think the deadlines will naturally be spread out a bit more.
And I've always thought the hardest part was coming up with an idea... ALWAYs. Even for non-quill stuffs. What I did when I was a general writer is I tried to think of some topic no one was likely to write about, and then work from their. Like I would say, "I doubt anyone would write about the food of Hogwarts," and then I might start thinking, "I wonder what others think about Hogwarts food" and the suddenly I have unique article about a topic most people wouldn't think about.
But then again, that is just me, so
From what I can tell, you guys all did a REALLY GREAT JOB on your articles. I think our first issue of the quill will be a huge sucess <3

^ Yep, I concur
Well, I appreciate the honesty (don't be afraid to be brutally honest). As Sarah said, this term was kind of a scramble because we are almost done! But next term it will be spread out a bit more.
Also, to help with the ideas, I would suggest you guys use this thread. This thread is YOUR thread to come and chat and brainstorm together |

As it is me that is doing the coding, I'd say yes if I can get it done in time for a preview
