You knock upon the door and a baritone voice bids you enter. You step into the mahogany shelf-lined room and look around. The shelves cover nearly every inch of wallspace, save for the fireplace. The shelves are lined with all sorts of books, parchments, jars, vials, and boxes. There is a fire in the grate and upon the fire is a cauldron bubbling with a thick green liquid. Just a few feet from the door, you bump into a leather chair, placed before a large mahogany desk which matches the shelves. A tall, salt and pepper haired, man dressed in black robes with glasses sits behind the desk. He pulls off his glasses and takes a hankerchief out of a pocket. He gestures to the chair with the glasses before cleaning them and placing them back on his face. "What is it you would like to speak with me about?"

Rave walked into the open office door and looked around for the Professor. Seeing he was not in she left a note on his desk.

After placeing the note on his desk Rave left the office giggling uncontrolably with the intention of comeing back soon if her note was not answered.

Professor Branxton was out of breath, having run the rest of the way to his office when he saw no one was about. He shut the door, locked it, and breathed a sigh of relief as he sank into his chair. He tossed his glasses onto his desk and rubbed his temples. When he opened his eyes, he noticed a note upon his desk. After putting his glasses back on and reading the note, he wrote a reply and sent it off with a house elf to be delivered:

Then, he tossed his glasses back on the desk and leaned back in his chair with his eyes closed. He needed some time to merely meditate and regain his sense of equilibrium before class began.

Rave peeked into her Head of House's office and saw him sitting at his desk. She walked in and addressed Professor Braxton "Hello Professor, I wished to speak to you about getting the younger students excited about earning house points and posting a notice of when all classes start, what the homework is and if there is extra credit availible. That way we can bring Slytherin house back up to where it should be, at the top." After saying all this Rave shyly looked up from the floor, turned beet red and started giggling uncontrolably. "Has anyone ever told you how handsome your glasses make you look?" she added with an overly sweet smile.

The Slytherin student who had left him the note arrived in his office and started to speak. She made some good points and he was about to comment when she continued. Oh dear lord he thought after listening to the girl state her piece. He cleared his throat before speaking. "Actually, Professor Lainey has been doing more than a fair job of telling me how attractive I am," he said trying very hard not to roll his eyes because it was not very professional to talk down about other professors in front of students. "However, I agree with your sentiments about our floundering in the house points race. I had hoped that we would use the announcements thread for such things but, if you feel we need a separate place to post homework, I'm sure that could be arranged. I could even arrange a set of study tables in the common room."

"That would be wonderful sir." Rave answered "Every year I've been at Hogwarts Slytherin has been in 2nd place or better. But now Nadia, Jaren, Ganymede and Zekke are gone the people who gained the most points left. And now that Alex has quit school aswell Slytherin has no older students to help the younger ones along. Since no one else steped up to the job, I thought I would try to help them as best I could." Rave paused for a moment "And If you don't mind me saying so sir, Professor Lainey is right" Rave again turned red and started giggling like a first year.

"I commend you for your efforts and I will consider sectioning off part of the bulletin board specifically for homework and/or creating a section of the common room for the express purpose of studying. Now, if you will excuse me, we need to get to class."

"Yes sir" Rave answered and rose to her feet. As she walked out the door she turned and blew Professor Braxton a kiss. Giggling like maniac she ran down the hall towards the potions classroom.

Professor Branxton groaned and put his head in his hands. He reached into one of his drawers and extracted a flask. He took a quick swig before shaking himself, replacing the flask in his desk and walking out toward the classroom.

Linnea entered the office, "Hello, Professor, I hope I am not catching you at a bad time?" She asked, not really wanting to come back. Her face wanted to flush, not out of fancy for the man, but out of embarassment for the actions of her head of house. She prayed it did not show.

"Not at all, how can I help you?" he asked as he sealed the safe and sat down. He gestured for her to take the seat across from him.

Linnea smiled, well, he certainly seemed nicer than last year....though that could have been because she had just told him she had entered the boys dorms. Ah well, can't repeat history, can you?

She took a seat across from him, "Thank you, Professor. I wish this could be an entirely social visit, but I must ask. Have you noticed that some of the students don't have a worry about........modesty?" She would have loved to sit and chit-chat all day. That was the Tolnedran in her. But, she got to business, that was the Sendar in her. Interesting combination.

Professor Branxton frowned at her. He had no idea what she was talking about. "I can't say that I have. What exactly are you trying to say?" he asked, taking off his glasses and removing a fresh green silk hankerchief from his desk drawer to clean them.

"That some of the students don't care where they are when they decide to change. Earlier today there was a student who changed into her swimsuit at the swimming rock. She stripped off, changed and dove in. I couldn't believe it had happened. I only wish I could have moved faster to get to her, but I couldn't. I'm going to all the heads of house before stopping in to Rae, I'm just hoping that we could get announcements up in the common rooms to remind the students where changing belongs."

Professor Branxton stared at her in disbelief. "That is completely unacceptable and I assure you that an announcement will be made. Did you recognize the girl? I should like to see her in detention for her public indecencey."

"Unfortunately, I did not. I believe she may be a first year for that reason and I'm certain she is not a Ravenclaw, I would have recognized her then. I will keep my eyes open, however, I, too, believe it was unacceptable."

Laurasia approached the door of her Head of House. She didn;t hear any voicing within, thankfully. Perhaps she had finally caught one of her professors when they were not with any other students...Or perhaps he wasn't inside. Sighing she knocked quickly upon the door & awaited a response.

"Unfortunately the culprit has yet to owl me back," he sighed. "I am doing everything I can to find them, however."

ooc: I'm going to see if I can get in contact with them but, if they left or can't play, I'm not sure where we'll take this storyline. (Fluzzy hasn't been online since December 29th)

Laurasia frowned as she heard that the culprit had not yet been apprehended. "I'm sorry to here that. I certainly do hope that he is caught soon as the locket is a family heirloom of ours, very irreplaceable. I do appreciate everything that you are doing though, Professor."

Laurasia nodded in regards to her professor & noticed that he seemed rather busy. "Thank you once again for your assistance with this matter, Professor Branxton. I won't take up anymore of your time." She rose & silently left the office, closing the door behind her.

As the last student left, Schmoop darted into the Office. "Schmoop apologizes, Professor Sir," the elf said, bowing until his nose reached the ground. "Schmoop means not to be intrusive but Schmoop must clean in Master's Office. Schmoop won't be long."

Really, Schmoop had been hoping to catch a glimpse of a child. He knew he wasn't supposed to be seen by them but he really did wish to see them. Hurridly, he went about his dusting, before leaving. No child in sight.
