You look left as you enter to see on the wall beside the door you just entered, there you see several pegs and a black cloak is hanging off one. On a shelf above the pegs rests a broom. You continue your scan of the office by looking at the wall on your right, which has two pictures hanging there. The first is a picture of Albus Dumbledore and the other is Minerva McGonagall. These pictures do not belong to school but your professor, who has just entered through a door between the two pictures. He moves quickly to behind his desk and beckons you to sit and tell him why you are there.

As he sits down at an very old desk, you see that it is organized into several neat stacks of parchments and books. There are several bottles of ink, quills, and seals setting on the desk with wax for sending mailing. You scan your eyes around the room noticing various things. Behind the desk you see a tawny owl tethered to a perch. He hoots as you step in and close the door. Two chairs sit in front of the desk and they appear well worn from years of students sitting in them. To your left there are wall-to-wall shelves filled with books, jars, and cages. Your eyes follow the wall and notice the titles of many books dealing with the subject of Transfiguration. The center of the wall is occupied by a large fireplace with a blazing fire burning. An iron tea kettle sits on an arm over the flames and in front of the fire are two worn leather chairs and a small table. Sitting on table is an ancient tea set and the professor's case, which is open with several parchments poking out the top of the case.

Andrew McAiken greets you and invites you to sit down and tell him why you are there...

OOC: Please read this thread before you post in it. You can't enter sealed doors nor hear private conversations. RPing depends on some reality of things. Yes, you are a wizard but so is everyone else here. We all want to have fun, even those of us who are professors and SS staff. You can now continue to do so....have fun I mean.

McAiken enters his study and hangs up his cloak and hat on the pegs beside the door. He is tired, because of the trip from King's Crossing. Now he knew why the Head Boy and Head Girl was always in charge of the Hogwart's Express trip. He crosses the study and enters his private quarters. He needs to change clothes before the Opening Feast which would begin in 30 minutes. He selects his formal kilt to wear to the feast. He quickly changes and is soon ready. Looking in a mirror he adjust the sporran around his waist and his waist coat. Satisfied he would pass, he leaves his quarters and reseals the door. He crosses the study removing his formal hat from its peg and places it on his head. He opens the door and exits the study. The last thing he does is seal the door. He learned in his first term back at Hogwarts he needed to seal the doors against entry by others. He heads down the halls towards the Great Hall.

Terry walks down the hall reading Professor Rae's letter as she went. She is pleased Professor Rae trusts her enough to give her the secret password to her office, but right now Terry didn't want to discuss her concerns with her. Professor Rae is head mistress now and any imformation she give would have to comply with the Ministry's slant on things. Past experience had taught her the Ministry has their own truth, and it sometimes has nothing to do with the real truth. Before she knows it Terry finds herself standing in front of Professor McAiken's office. She had promised Nobel she would come and check on him when she got to Hogwarts. The look of satisfaction on Helena's face led Terry to believe she had probably given Nobel some trouble on the trip to Hogwarts. Helena is a little jealous of him. Terry knocks on the door, but no one answers. She then tries to open it, but soon discovers Professor McAiken has placed a sealing charm on the door. It only took him two terms to figure out he should seal his office. Terry gets her wand out. A sealing charm should not be too hard to neutralize. Then she notices some first year Slytherins walking down the hall. Maybe it wouldn't be such a good idea to circumvent the professor's security measures. Terry also remembers she promised her father she would behave herself this term. How did he put it. Idle hands tend to get you in trouble. Which reminded her, she needs to talk to Professor McAiken about the extra lessons he promised to give her. "Well if I'm going to have to wait for him I might as well be comfortable," Terry thinks to herself. She waves her wand and a comfortable chair from the Professor's office apears. "I hope he won't be too long."

McAike walks down the hall on his way to his office. He notices a chair by his door and the robe of a Hufflepuff. He could not see the face but his guess was either Lee or Terry had their way to his office after the Feast. He had hoped to slip in his office and his quarters for some last planning for his first class. That could wait.

He continues to walk and can soon see it is Terry who is waiting. "Hello Terry," he said from a few yards away. "Get all the first years up to the Common Room and in their assigned room? I didn't expect to see you until tomorrow morning."

McAiken removed his wand and stepped towards the door. Knowing Terry would be listening, the professor used the chance to practice his unspoken command technique. So many witches and wizards never really learn to control their magical abilities fully, instead they relied on only spoken command techniques. Concentrating on the spell, he tapped the door three times, then lifted the latch and entered his office.

"Come in, and we'll chat over a cup of cocoa," he suggested to the prefect.

Terry watches as Professor McAiken uses a silent charm to remove the sealing charm. "That's not necessary, professor. I could have opened your door if I had want to. I'm trying to behave myself this term and stay out of trouble. I hadn't planned to come and see you tonight. I kind of just found my way here. It's nothing important. I'll come back tomorrow. I just promised Nobel I"d check on him when I got settled here." Terry gets up and starts to leave.

"I am just being careful. You taught me to do so. To think of how we met and that horrible detention. I am rather surprise you ever set foot in this office again. Speaks volunms about who you are, I hope you know that." McAiken places his hat on a peg and crosses to stoke the fire. "Cocoa will be ready in just a moment if you care to stay. Nobel hasn't returned yet. I am sure he's either in the owlery which is where I sent him or out hunting for food. The owls had the harder trip than us. London is miles away from here and they worked hard to get here. After our cocoa we could check the owlery to see if he and your Helena are up there."

Terry walks in and takes a seat next to the fire. "That detention wasn't so bad, and I guess you just intrigue me. I think that's what kept me coming back. I not sure why I came to bother you tonight. I guess I've been worried about you all summer. I was afraid you wouldn't be here this term."

"I really don't any where else to go to, nor would I want to be anywhere else. I have grown attached to being here and many than just a few of the people who are here too," he replied to the girls smiling at her. "My summer was spend explaining my action of term before the Ministry. I was as you know a Ministry employee. In the end everything turn out okay. Ministry gave me a choise of returning to my research in the Department of Mysteries or returning to Hogwarts to continue to teach. You can see my choice."

As Caity exits the 'Charms' classroom, she thinks to herself, 'ok, I'm settled in Charms and Care of Magical Creatures, I guess one more subject wouldn't hurt.' Before she knew it, she found herself standing in front of the 'Transfiguration' classroom. 'Transfiguration! I've always wanted to take that class!' Caity lightly knocked on the door, when no one answered, she peeked her head inside to find Professor McAiken and a Hufflepuff student in the middle of a discussion. They stopped their conversation and turned their heads in her direction; Caity instantly grew hot in the cheeks.

"I'm so sorry to interrupt, but I was wondering, Professor McAiken, if you had a moment of free time?"

Looking over his shoulder McAiken spots the first year out of be on her first night in the castle. "How can I help you," he offered in response to her. He decided he could at least wait until he heard her out before passing judgement on her being up and wondering about.

Terry smiles at the Gryffindor who has come in. She realizes she's not setting a very good example by being in Professor McAiken's office after hours. Terry looks at the professor as he speaks to the student. She had already figured out he was spying for the Ministry three terms ago and that he was partly responsible for Miss Leiden coming to Hogwarts. Terry didn't know he had worked in the Department of Mysteries before becoming a teacher. He would be able to help her with her problems.

Lestat stands outside on the corridor, behind the Gryffindor girl.
He is trying to creep past to get on his way, but the disturbance has now led him to hide around the corner of the door.
He braces himself, ready to run incase any of them spot him.

McAiken listens to Gryffindor student. He answers her questions and she heads off, but she does he reminds her isn't suppose to be out wondering around after hours. He really didn't consider Terry out after hours since she was a prefect and they normally make one last round of the areas near their common rooms. McAiken turns he attention back to her.

Terry tries not to easedrop on the professor conversation. His comments earlier remind her of the first time they met in this office. He had caught her on his magical orbs feeding Nobel one of Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes finest Canary Creams. Nobel was still molting yellow feathers at the time. Jenn had dared her to do it. Terry smiles remembering her cousin and her crazy antics. It has already been a few monthes since her mother broke the news to her, but the wounds are still fresh. There was no way she could bring Jenn back. Terry knew that even the Book of Mysteria didn't have the power to bring wizards back from the dead, and Jenn would have never wanted her to try something that dangerous anyway.

Professor McAiken finishes with the Gryffindor first year and shows her out of his study. "I'm sorry to be such a baby, Professor, but when the Daily Prophet didn't print the complete story concerning last term, I got worried. It wouldn't be the first time the Ministry of Magic had hidden its dirty laundry in Azkaban Prison. I've had enough bad new already. I don't think I could have taken losing you too. I don't know if you remember my cousin, Jenn Weasley. She was only here for your firsts term. Jenn died shortly before last term ended. It wasn't unexpected. She had been sick for a good while, even so it can as bit of a shock. Then I got this 'present' for my seventeenth birthday. I guess you could call it a present." Terry takes out her wand and levitates the heavy book out of her bag. It is a worn leather book that hasn't seen the light of day for several years. "It was a gift from my grandfather, Winston Potter. It kind of reminded me that I seem to loose everyone I care about. The book came with a note which said I would know what to do with it. He apparently deposited it in the Gringott Bank shortly before Voldemort murdered him. My grandfather left instructions with the goblins to deliver it to me on my seventeenth birthday. I guess it has something to do with wizards being legal age when they turn seventeen." Terry stares at the books. She's not doing a very good job of explaining everything, but how do you explain something like this.

"We can explore the book during your Transfiguration Labs. I want you to work on the Animagus Spell. You may have the talent inside you to become one. There is a long line in your family that has managed the spell. I expect to see you once a week or maybe twice. We will wait a week or so before we begin so you can settle into your other classes." McAiken offered the prefect.

"I would enjoy doing that. In the meantime would you keep this book for me. I don't think it's a good idea to have it in the dorm. I tried to transfigure it into something ordinary like a tea pot, but I couldn't get it to work. I can't understand how I got and exceeds expectations on my OWLS in transfiguration."

The professor turns his attention to her. "I was just wondering when the first Transfiguration class would be? I know I should have come to ask tomorrow instead of now, after hours, but this is all new to me and I wanted to make sure I asked before our class schedules arrived in our dormitories."

The professor fills her in and escorts her out of the room. Caity sees the Ravenclaw prefect smiling at her as she exits, she smiles back and shuts the door behind her.

"Perhaps the book can't be transfigured, it may have anti-transfiguration charms on it. I put it away safely until your first lab. You did well on your OWLs because you studied hard and you are a talented young witch. Now I think we both need a bit of sleep before tomorrow morning's classes begin." McAiken rose and accepted the book from Terry. He crossed the room and placed it on his desk. He would deal with more after she left. He escorted her to the office door and asked, "I assume it is okay for me to read the book or would you perfer I wait for you?"

"Professor you can do anything you want with it. Just please be careful who you let see it. I'm not sure if it's exactly legal for me to have possession of it. My grandfather was working on some very important projects before he died, and his research was destroyed by order of the then Minister of Magic. I asume that's why he placed this book in Gringott's vaults. I just understand why he left it to me." Terry looks at the book on Professor McAiken's desk relieved it is in his possession now. "I'd better be getting to bed too. Being a Prefect doesn't mean I can break the rules, bend them a little, but not break them. Your office isn't exactly in the area I'm suppose to patrol. Good night, Professor, I'll see you in class tomorrow."

"Good night Terry. I promise to keep the book safe and protected," He replied as she exited. When she started up the hall McAiken closed the door and sealed it. He went to his desk and picked up the book. He entered his private quarters. Inside, he secured the book in a secret place. He was tired and preferred to sleep rather explore a book at the moment. He prepared for bed and retired for the evening.

Raven entered Professor McAike's office early in the morning before the lesson was about to begin. She looked around finding the Professor no where and sighed. "Professor," she said turning around examining his office and stared at the door behind his desk. "Professor," she said once again and took a seat knowing he heard her that time.

McAiken saw the girl nod, so he said, "Good, I'll see you after my class then."

Ozzy made his way down to Proefessor McAiken's office and knocks on the door and waits a few minutes. "He must be out somewhere". He thought to himself... "Maybe I should wait here for him". He said quietly to himself as he sat on the floor by the Professor's door.

Lily walked up to the Professor's door and knocked.Not hearin an answer Lily sat on one of the chairs outside him office and desided to wait.Her kitten Artemis agreed and bounced into her lap with the one of the PigmyPuffs gently in her mouth and the other on Lily's shoulder.'I wonder if he'll agree'

McAiken arrives at his door to see two students waiting for him. "Good afternoon Ozzy and Lily," McAiken said greeting the pair. "Give my a moment to unseal my door. He stepped to face the door and with a wave of his wand the door was unseal. Andrew gently touched the wand tip to the wood and the door opened itself allowing entering into his study.

"Which one of you wants to go first?" McAiken asked. "Just come in when your ready, I have a few things to set down, then I'll set a pot of tea brewing for us." McAiken led the way into the office. He placed his coat and hat on the pegs then crossed the room to place his satchel on the desk. He whirled and shot a spell at the fireplace and the fire roared to life. Another spell allowed the cast iron pot full of water to move into the flames so the water would soon be ready for tea.
