Christa raised her hand, which was strange because she barely ever answered things in class. "Um, maybe if you ever were in or near a fire? It could protect you from the smoke, kind of like what Noel said."

Nadia groaned inwardly. Of course. A bubble-head charm would protect from asphixiation provoqued by a curtain of smoke. Happens when you are too hastled into things, even the most obvious things escapes your mind. Nadia seemly mumbled to herself staring fixedly at the desk under her, as if considering hitting her head on it.

"Right again, 5 points. I guess that's enough examples for all of you to get an idea for the uses fo this charm, so let's get to practicing. The incantation for the bubble head charm is Sanuspirantes, which is said while pointing to your head. It creates a bubble which will supply you with clean air for as long as you need it and is nearly unbreakable. To remove the bubble, a simple Finite Incantatem will do. I'd like everyone to practice and be successful a few times before I let you into the tank. If you don't have any questions, you may begin."

Jaren raised his hand. "Is the amount of air in the bubblehead charm limited, or could you survive with that charm case on you for an extended period of time?"

Erica grabbed her wand and was just about ready to start when a last-minute question popped in her head. She raised her hand.

"Is there a specific form of wand movement like the 'swish and flick' needed to perform this spell, Professor?"

"It's possible there's a limit on how long the bubble can last, because like most magic, it loses it's power over time. However, I am confident that a properly performed bubble head charm will last you at a minimum of a few hours. So that tells me that no, the air isn't limited, but the resilience of the bubble might be."

"No, you just point your wand at your head and say the incantation, either outloud or as a nonverbal spell."

"Sanuspirantes!" Nadia commanded pointing her head. Immediately something appeared. Her ears got suddenly stuck and the echo of her own voice was making her earsore. At first she felt lack of air instead of helping her breath, and then the charm started really working. But something was wrong visually. Things looked as if watched though a magnifying glass.

Nadia looked around and noticed her glasses were missing. Somehow, she mixed the bubbled head charm with a transfiguration spell and her glasses got stuck, now part of the glass bubble around her. "Finite Incantatum!" it echoed as the thing disappeared from her head, a glasses dropped on her lap. OK, next try...

As Kate walked around the room, she watched the students practicing. She paused long enough to watch Nadia's first attempt. "That was quite good Nadia. You'll want to concentrate a little harder to keep your glasses on your head, but other than that, your bubble looked very nice." Kate continued walking around the class, observing studentss progress.


OOC: Ok, I need to go for a bit, so behave yourselves and don't do anything you'll need me to get out of. Stay away from the tnk until I'm back, or the crup will bite you

Jessica scribbled down the used for the bubblehead charm then stood up. She pushed her books away, and rolled up her sleeves. Concentrating, she pointed her wand at her head, and as clearly as she could, she shouted Sanuspirantes

Jessicas eyes were closed in concentration. She couldn't tell if she had done the charm right, or if she looked like a fool, standing with her want pointed at her head. She peeled open one eye, and breathed out with releif. She had produced a thing transparent bubble, but the moment she gasped, her concentration broke and it popped.

frowning, she set up again and took a deep breath, keeping her eyes open, she shouted the incantation again. Each time she tried, a thin, paper-like bubble appeared then vanished in the blink of an eye.

Laurasia was just about to try the incantation when she suddenly saw Nadia's glasses become a part of the bubble incasing her head. Her eyes grew wide, followed by a grin on her face. When Nadia had finally ended the charm Laurasia could only chuckle.

She pulled out her wand & pointed it at her head. "Sanuspirantes!" She was afraid that nothing was going to happen, but a bubble did come out of the end of her wand. Unfortunately it wasn't large enough to encompass her head. Instead it looked much like a soap bubble. A thought crossed her mind.

She raised her hand. "Professor Zoa, could a smaller version of this charm be used in order to get oxygen to someone who is trapped without a good air supply? Like if the were trapped under something & you produced a small bubble like this. Could you then make it appear by their mouth & do the Finite charm to give them a burst of air?"

Ali took notes and practiced the spell on himself. When it worked it felt weird but saying the simple words finite incateum made him normal. Ali went back to taking notes on how it felt.

Heshasa took some quick notes and pulled out her wand. Concentrating on her own head she pointed her wand at her haed and said "Sanuspirantes!" Imediatley somehting surrounded her head and everything became a bit echoey. Pulling out a mirror from her pocket she looked and saw her head was encased in a bubble.

Pointing her wand at her head she said Finite Incantatem! The bubble disappeared. Hmm she thought not to hard but I best start practicing non-verbal spells more often.

Heshasa pointed her wand at her head once more and thought as hard as she could "Sanuspirantes!" . Nothing happened. Disappointed but not entirley surprised she shook her head and tried again. Focusing as hard as she could on the spell she thought "Sanuspirantes!" . Imediatly the bubble surrounded her head once more. Smiling and thinking Finite Incantatem! the bubble disappeared. Shaking her head again for her ears felt echoey.

Smiling again she continued to practice.

Kalaya scribbled down the spell- when she didn't practice it every few days and memorize it by doing so she forgot it. She stuffed it in her bag and took a deep breath. The only thing to do was try it.

Taking another deep breath Kalaya concentrated. Pointing the wand at her head she said "Sanuspirantes!" It took her a moment to realize it didn't work. Blushing Kalaya lowered her wand and closed her eyes to clear her mind, preparing for another attempt.

Finally feeling like she was ready, Kalaya pointed her wand at her head and said "Sanuspirantes!" This time she got a bubble, but it was very thin- or so she thought. Her head felt weird for a second but then she felt alright. Smiling, Kalaya said "Finite Incantatem." The bubble disappeared. Kalaya smiled some more, proud she had done it. Finally she started to prepare for another attempt.

"Yes, it is possible, but it would be a different charm to deliver a bubble of air to someone. This spell is specifically designed to create breathable air around a person's head. You could perform it on someone else to help them, but you'd either have to see them to do it or have very good aim to get their head." Kate looked around and saw that many people were starting to get a handle on the spell, so she decided to move allow some people to move on. "Anyone who feels they are ready to take this spell under water can make their way over to me. If you're not, don't worry, just keep practicing."

Alairyse wrote down the spell information in her notebook, neat and tidy as always, and began to pratice the spell. As she pointed her wand at her head she thought to herself What if i say the wrong spell, and my head turns into one big, red boil or something?!? Oh well, here goes nothing..."Sanuspirantes!"

It took a while before the transparent bubble finished enclosing Alairyse's head. When it was done, she took a few seconds to admire her handywork. Its not everyday that i get a spell right on the first try! Alairyse thought to herself as she mumbled, "Finite Incantatem."

Kalaya sighed, she sure wasn't ready.
Clearing her mind once again she pointed her wand at herself.
"Sanuspirantes!"
Gasping, Kalaya smiled. She had done it, and she was pretty sure she had done it right!
"Finite Incantatem."

I did it! I really did! Now I'll try it non-verbaly, because if I can do it that way, I know I can pretty much do it... she thought.

"Sanuspirantes," Jaren practiced, getting accustomed to the long incantation before trying out the spell in full with his wand, pointing it at his face. The first time, nothing remarkable happened, the second time an odd, wobbly bubble appeared for a few moments before popping with a wet "bloop" noise, but he managed a fairly stable charm by the third try.

Performing Finite, Jaren practiced the spell until he was sure that he had a good handle on it, before trying to accomplish it without reciting the incantation out loud. After all, if he was going to be underwater, it would be a challenge...

...Though if he was underwater, would the Bubblehead charm simply create an enclosed...fishbowl?

After getting a couple of things fixed up (having only half the bubble weighting on the side of the head, or as a hat, wouldn't do) Nadia felt she was confident enough with the last bubble. It was round, it was complete - hey it even looked like an actual bubble!

So, with the current bubble (and let us clear out Nadia was still using her glasses, yay for her!), Nadia stepped forwards and nearer the tank. She climbed up, pretty sure despite all, looking down at the water... sumerged her head. And then the bubble, which was really a bubble exploded and Nadia was left with her head soaking wet, dripping water all over, and she trying to cough the dirty water. Way to start the day.

Kate watched Nadia's first attempt underwater with some amusement, but she tried very hard not to smile when the seventh year got a faceful of water. "That's all right, Nadia, the water is perfectly clean, and I can dry you off once the lessons over. Maybe before your next attempt in the water I'll test the durability of your bubble a bit first."

Erica nodded at the professor's answer and finished up her notes on the spell before finally giving it a go. She pointed her wand at her head and concentrated especially hard on what she wanted to accomplish, before shouting out the incantation.

"Sanuspirantes!"

She kept her head in the forward position and looked only out of the corner of her eyes for a bubble or something to come shooting out of her wand. She waited and waited, but nothing could be seen coming out of the tip. Sighing, she decided that the spell didn't work and motioned to place her wand on the desk, but couldn't. It felt like something was pulling at her wand, so she tugged and turned to her side to see a huge bubble sprouting from the other end. She gasped with shock and was immobile for a few seconds, watching the scene in front of her, before she attempted to stop it.

"Oh, oh! Uh, uh, um...Fini-Finite...Finite Incanta-"

Without warning, the bubble popped and sent Erica sliding off her chair and down to the ground with shock. She slowly picked herself up from off the ground, blushing furiously with embarassment, and retook her seat. Perhaps, she thought, it would be better if she first made sure she was pointing the correct end of the wand at the target before attempting anything at all.

'Sanuspirantes' luna thaught, an unusual incantation but she said it over in her head untill she was confident enough
she pointed her wand at her head and "Sanuspirantes!"
luna cautiusly moved her head around as the thin bubble around her head looked as if it could pop then 'POP' "tuh, well, its not that bad for a first try" she said to herself
after a few more trys it was strong enough to not pop when she moved and she turned her head and it didnt pop, "cool" she said, "finite incantem" , she bubble popped

Laurasia listened as the professor addressed her question. "I see then. Thank you."

She decided to try the charm once again. This time she quieted & centered herself before starting. She went over the incantation a few times in her mind, then pointed her wand at her head & cast. "Sanuspirantes!"

A strange film seemed to cover into her line of vision. A bit...wiggly, but then steadied. A large bubble had came out from the tip of her wand, encased her head & then seperated itself from the wand. Laurasia realized that she was holding her breath. "What if I didn't do it right & there's no air in here?" she thought for a second. Only one way to test it. She breathed in deeply & found that the encased air was very clean & scent-free. Satisfied, she pointed the wand at her head again. "Finite Incantatum."

She practiced a few times with the saying the incantation outloud. Once she was satisfied that she had the spell down, she decided to practice doing it incantation-free. She may have to perform it underwater afterall & it's rather hard to speak under water. She focused her attention & clearly thought the incantation in her mind. Once again the bubble encased her head. She couldn't help but laugh out of surprise. She had done incantation-free magic! It had actually worked!

Quickly she walked over to the tank. She hesitated & looked down at the water, she had just seen Nadia end up with a soaked head. "Ah well," she thought. "If I can get completely filthy working in the Greenhouse, I can bear being soaked in Charms class." She closed her eyes & dunked her head into the tank, expecting the bubble to burst. To her surprise her head wasn't getting wet. She slowly opened her eyes to see her classmates upside down & hazy through the glass of the tank. She smiled widely. She pulled her head out of the tank & looked up at Professor Zoa with a proud smile. "I guess I did it right." She had completely forgotten that the bubble was still on her head.

Kristal took her wand, pointed it to her head and thought in her head, "Sanuspirantes!" She watched as the spell seemed to form almost perfectly. "Finite Incantartem," she muttered under her breath. She did this 2 more times before she decided to attemp it in the water.

Heshasa who felt she had a good handle on the charm. She raised her hand Professor may I try it in the tank?
