Sugar Hill Asylum for the InsaneThe Muggles avoid this decrepit old asylum... mostly because of the rumors that it's haunted! The Specialty Area has set up shop here. Sorry about the ghosts!
The Asylum's padded cells marked innovation from the staff of the 'hospital'. Patients were set up in this 10 by 10 feet rooms, more for their protection than their harm...and yes, gruesome tragedies did occur in these small spaces until the Asylum was disbanded. For the department's uses, these 'cells' have undergone a transformation, and will act as headquarters for the Magical Inventors and Magical Architects.
Upon stepping into them, the first, most noticeable difference is the amount of space available. A powerful extension charm is in place, causing the pads on the walls to extend out almost infinitely; depending on your depth perception. The walls, which still consist of the padding, are covered in a tasteful light brown leather. New worktables have been set up for the Inventors and Architects, materials already littering their surfaces.
Did you hear that? The whisper of sound moving over the pads? No, no...that's a figment of your imagination. All is well and SAFE in this area...or so we think.

Bradley knew he had sounded a little crazy when he asked about ghost hunting. But come on. This place was just screaming haunted...even if Anthony said that it wasn't. That strange singing along with all of the other strange things he'd been hearing around this place were definite signs of that.
So here he was, on his break, exploring the padded cells. It seemed the architects and inventors were out. Which made sense. It was lunch time and all that. Heck, Brad had practically scarfed his food just so he could explore for a bit. Sadly, he also had a really cheesy EMF detector. His sister had heard about the new work place and sent it to him as a joke. He didn't think it actually worked, but hey. It completed his look.

She totally got the Ghost hunting memo and she was TOTALLY all for it! seeing as how she had an hour lunch and the kids were looked after for her to take said lunch. So she changed her shoes into a pair slightly more comfortable and braided her hair as she went off to the padded cell area.
PADDED CELLS!!
there were padded cells and creeky floors and this place was FILLED with adventure and she was excited! "Hey Brad." she was here! she was excited, she was ready. "is that an EMF reader!?" she knew her instruments and she knew what that was and that made it all the more exciting. Was anyone else joining?

Jamie walked into the padded room, he had a bag of salt in his pocket, some holy water in his back pocket. a flashlight in his right hand and an EMF reader in his left. Jamie just walked along some creepy corridor that led to a bunch of padded cells. HOW AWESOME WAS THIS? YEAH? Jamie for some stupid reason had his iPod in his pocket and one earbud in his right ear. He was seriously grooving as walked into the cell room.
Jamie waved his flashlight all around as he ducked his head to see if there were any ghosts. He was so happy about this, it was going to be great. "Come here ghosty, ghosty." Jamie said in a sing song voice. Jamie turned up his music full blast and he began to sing. "IF THERE'S SOMETHING STRANGE IN YOUR NEIGHBOR HOOD." Jamie belted out very out of tune. The thirty-two year old stated to dance like a velociraptor. "WHO YA GONNA CALL? GHOSTBUSTERS!" Jamie grinned and looked around for any ghosts and found people instead. PEOPLE HE KNEW! Jamie's face turned bright red. Jamie turned off his iPod and wrapped his earbuds around the iPod and shoved it in his back pocket.

Brad was inspecting the EMF when he heard someone else come in the room. He was a little sad it wasn't a ghost making all that ruckus, but it was Athena so that was good enough too. "Hey Athena." Woohoo for ghost hunting buddies. He looked down at the device. "Yeah. My sister sent it to me." She was definitely into all that crazy stuff.
Brad wasn't able to say anymore when Jamie bursted in singing and dancing. The look on the older man's face was priceless once he realized that he wasn't alone. Brad just laughed. "Don't stop on our account." He pointed to his shirt before he started to sing where Jamie had left off. "If it's something weird and it don't look good. Who you gonna call?" He looked expectantly at the other two. Come on. This was meant to be fun.

Jamie blinked at Athena and then at Brad. The man rubbed his red cheeks and then the back of his neck. This was really just very embarrassing. Why did he have to see his coworkers/friends right now? Jamie looked back at Athena, he didn't know that much about her but he thought she was the prettiest girl in all of the Ministry and possible the whole universe. Jamie blinked again and rubbed his eyes. Was he getting a crush on her?

Jamie wasn't going to finish singing the rest of the song. He had made of fool of himself enough. Actually he always made a fool of himself. Jameson just looked at Brad blankly. He cleared his throat. "H-hello Athena, Brad." he managed to say to the both of them but he really just wanted to say hello to Athena but he had nothing against Brad. Brad just wasn't a beautiful as Athena and Brad was a guy so...yeah.

"Party poopers." Brad was a little sad when no one joined in the singing with him. Especially since Jamie HAD already been singing the song. He looked over at Athena, eyebrow raised as she leaned against the wall. "You okay there? Do I need to get something to help you breath?" Because that much laughter had to make it difficult to breath. Even just a bit.
Oh and what was that Jamie? Yep. Bradley definitely noticed the long looks at one of his closest friends. A little light bulb definitely went off in his head. He could see it. Yep. Those two would work nicely together. "Hey Jamie." He gave the man a big wide grin, his previous thoughts still running through head. Now how would he do this...
...anyways. "You all ready to find some ghosts?" Brad waved around his EMF detector.
It took both Ferris' mother and brother to drag the inventor out of his bed to get him to work that morning. Ever since the ministry had cause to move their offices to a um, well, you see, abandoned asylum he had considered never coming out of his Mum's basement ever again to do anything. This unbelievable set of circumstances was proof that Ferris was not to ever mix with human beings. Perhaps he was human biologically, but be was incapable of socially performing with the rest of his species. Mostly due to anxiety.
Yet, by some miracle or the actual sheer force of his mother's arm pushing him to work he was in the creepy, creaky padded cell to start the work day.
The inventor could not take three steps without squeaking or planking on the floor to try and avoid an incoming attacker. Or ghost. Or ghost attacker.
He wanted to go home to his damp basement where no one could harm him.
After a few hours of nonsense running away from dust particles and other things that looked potentially dangerous, Ferris settled into his work mode and pushed the bridge of his glasses into his face with the flat of his palm and began.
Anthony said he wanted ghost detection things and, with a little elbow grease, Ferris knew he could make a whole array of things that would be helpful in the current situation. Also, be wanted his own set of things for protection against whatever was here.
Jamie blinked at Athena and then at Brad. The man rubbed his red cheeks and then the back of his neck. This was really just very embarrassing. Why did he have to see his coworkers/friends right now? Taking her glasses off the top of her head she put them on her face, she really only needed them for reading but she'd rather not lose them while exploring.. or saving Jamie from spirits so on her face they went since she didn't want to leave them at either of her desks and have them go missing, like most things now a days did. She was also okay, Brad thanks for asking. She gave him a weak thumbs up as she she lifted herself off the padded wall. Merlin, she loved her job and the people she worked with, she didnt do things like this at her....... previous job.. Ahem. That information was classified and she wasnt going into thinking about all of that which she needed too, after she left here for the day... later..

He was still grinning like an idiot when he noticed that Jamie was zoned out staring at Athena. He knew exactly what Mr. Carmichael was thinking. And now his brain was whirling even more. This would be the perfect opportunity to push these two together. Brad hoped neither one could tell what he was thinking right now.
Brad didn't understand the brow raise from Jamie. What? He was just asking a friend if she was okay? Anyways...they both said they were ready. "Okay. So I figured we can do an EMF sweep and go from there." Because that was really as far as he'd thought it through. "Of course we'll have to check multiple cells so we should split up. And Athena you'll have to team up with Jamie or myself since you don't have a reader." He tried to emphasize the fact that she should go with Jamie, without drawing to much attention to that.

"what if something were to happen? Jamie would probably jump into her arms and Brad might coward in the corner and Athena..... would have such nice glorious black mail stories.... oh yes...
There was mental cackling happening as she tucked a stay piece of hair behind her ear and underher glasses. "But if we have to split up, which im against completely by the way, i dont care who i go with." either way would be great stories.
She was curious about what these people were doing. The two men had strange gadgets and she recognized the pretty lady. And they were singing. She looooved singing. Maybe these adults could be friendly and not like the others that were always scared of her.
Maybe she'd be able to show herself. But not yet. She didn't want them to run away like all the others. She stayed hidden and just watched.

Jamie wasn't a fan of people sneaking up on him BUT Jamie isn't one for surprises. Speaking of surprises his birthday was coming up in a few weeks. This was going great, ghost hunting before his birthday! WOOOOO! Jamie shrugged. Was Brad implying that Athena would go with him? confusion, confusion. Jamie would be a better choice, he was taller than Brad and he had an EMF which looked newer than Brad's sooooooo...Jamie didn't know if he should speak or not. "Doesn't matter who goes with who." Jamie rubbed the back of his neck. Jamie scanned the room. Where were the really cool ghosties. He honestly wanted to befriend one so they could be best friends forever.

Jamie wanted to know where the all the ghosts were. Honestly ghosts were never scary unless they looked scary or unless they do a sneak attack. Jamie wasn't a fan of people sneaking up on him BUT Jamie isn't one for surprises. Speaking of surprises his birthday was coming up in a few weeks. This was going great, ghost hunting before his birthday! WOOOOO! Jamie shrugged. Was Brad implying that Athena would go with him? confusion, confusion. Jamie would be a better choice, he was taller than Brad and he had an EMF which looked newer than Brad's sooooooo...Jamie didn't know if he should speak or not. "Doesn't matter who goes with who." Jamie rubbed the back of his neck. Jamie scanned the room. Where were the really cool ghosties. He honestly wanted to befriend one so they could be best friends forever.
Brad just looked at Athena. "Save us? I am not going to need to be saved. I can take care of myself." A little muscle flex here to prove his point. See. Brad wasn't defenseless. "But I don't speak for Jamie. Do you need her to protect you?" He looked over at the other guy. He highly doubted Jamie needed protecting either. He was trying to prove a point here.
He was going to say something else about the whole splitting up thing, when his EMF reader started going crazy. "Either this thing is busted or it works and there's a ghost here." Which he would actually be pretty shocked if his sister had sent him a working EMF reader.
