Overview
Cursebreaker Suresh and museum curator Advika first met while attending Wizarding University in Mumbai, both smitten at first sight with one willing to admit so and the other showing some reluctance. Time was all Advi needed to come to come to admit she in it for the long haul with the man who never ceased to charm her. They began to date, going on to later be wed and are now enjoying their lives in their relocated home in Wales, Great Britain.
This is a CLOSED RP exploring the lives of Suresh and Advika Nadeem.

HISTORY:
Advika was born to Ishir and Idika Yadav in Mumbai, close enough to the Aurangabad ruins where they were living for her dad’s archeological research. From a young age, Advi was taught to love the past. Ishir would bring his wife and daughter with him to work - where he would teach his young daughter all about ancient history, give her small brushes to ‘assist’ with unearching rocks while he pulled up treasures (under the careful eye of her mother). A passion for history and ancient artifacts was established and she’d decided at age 8 she wanted to pursue something similar. Advika, born to two muggles, had had no idea of her magical heritage and intended to go to muggle schools to study - but at age 11 she received a letter from Koldostov inviting her to study there. She was not interested, and wanted to just attend muggle school, but with great difficulty her dad was able to figure out there were other options for her - such as an exchange program at Castelobruxo in Brazil.
Advi was still nervous to go, even more so now that she would be traveling so far from her parents, but the amazon rainforest where Castelobruxo was located held such promise of ruins and study that most interested her, she decided it was worth a shot and agreed to go. She spent the majority of her first year pouting, as the ruins she’d been most excited to see ended up being the magic castle she now called home and a ruse for non magical like she had believed herself to be. But as the year went by, she found a passion for the different subjects offered as a witch - particularly an interest in the foreign languages and ancient runes.
By the time her first term ended, she was in love with the school without a doubt in her mind she would be returning. And such went on her school years, with friends coming and going and every summer spent taking muggle classes in order to keep her options open in terms of higher education. She knew she wanted to do something founded in archeology, but was torn between journalism, participating in digs, or research on what had already been unearthed. Curse breaking was something of interest for her for a while as well, but she steered away from that the more her interests focused in research and journalism.
By the time she had graduated, Advi had decided on Euro-Glyph School of Extraordinary Languages where she would major in Hieroglyphics and minor in a journalism program offered. For her study, she chose to remain in South America and relocated to Caracas, Venezuela in order to attend the campus there. After two uneventful years of study, she applied for a few internships and was astounded when she was offered a paid position assisting at her Dad's old dig site. She accepted immediately and put in for a transfer to Wizarding University in Mumbai to finish out the remainder of her studies. The best decision, as this was where she met her now husband, Suresh.
Now that the couple has moved to Wales, Advi found herself a position as a researcher with the National Museum of History, specializing in hieroglyphic translation.

Now there was a thought that probably wouldn’t hit Suresh for a few months {unless Advika brought it up before} but then he would only be picturing himself having to deal with a stubborn wife and child. Or children because what if all their children inherited that adorable but sometimes frustrating stubbornness Sweet wife did have a rather good point but he would argue that his stubbornness had come in handy. Yes, please! The family could wait until tomorrow. “I have no doubt that you will! It’s going to be quite an exciting event.” Sur was grinning like crazy just thinking about it. Oh, the family was in for a treat!
As long as Advika had confidence in him, then he’d have a high level of confidence in himself. Ahh, such a cute giggle as always. “That’s true,’’ the man remarked with a mock exasperated sigh. He squished the wife carefully. “How about this? I carry you to the dining room then we figure the rest out from there?” Without waiting for a response, Suresh had her in his arms {much as how one would carry their new spouse across the threshold} and he was heading out.

She simply would have agreed with his point in that regard. Suresh's stubborness HAD been handy, very much so, as without it there's no way they would be where they would currently. Sur's stubborness had been good for them, Advi's had been their roadblock. There was one that was leaps and bounds better than the other. "Should we take bets on who will cry the hardest out of our family?" Themselves included as well, of course. She'd been emotional as it was telling her husband. She could hardly imagine the excitement and hormones that would come with telling the parents.
Her husband was the only thing she thought worth a high level of confidence such as she had. He had not let her down in their time together, and she was certain he never would. Suresh was the kindest, most driven, smartest individual she knew. And perhaps that opinion came with a little bias, but some of those traits were also what had made him so irresistible... and that had been pretty bias. At the suggestion of carrying her, she nearly laughed but would have offered a teasing agreement, except before she could do so he'd already scooped her into his arms. With a small squeal, she wrapped hers around his neck, planting another kiss on his cheek. "My Knight in Shining Armour."
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Okay, that got a really, really hearty laugh out of Suresh. The idea was one that he instantly fell in love with. “We should! I’ll go with my mother.’’ His second bet? Well that might be Advi’s mother. Or would it be both mamas equally? They were both such crybabies over the happiest of occasions. Then again… “I think you would give her a run for her money though. All those extra hormones are bound to make you over sappy. Okay, that’s it! I’m changing my bet. It’s going to be you, sweet wifey.” Suresh was going to stick with this!
Advika certainly had that correct: one of his main goals in life was to never disappoint her in any way and he aimed to keep his spotless track record. In all truth, it was quite easy for him since he was always motivated by the strong love they shared. Let’s just say that Advika was always enough motivation for him. And that was exactly why he was holding onto her so carefully. “Always,’’ he replied, smiling happily at her. Did she know that she was as light as a feather? Sur didn’t feel any of her weight as he carried and eventually set her down at the dining table. It was then his turn to give her a kiss on the cheek. “Do you start eating double portions now?” he half teased, half wondered seriously.

SPOILER!!: Previous reply!
Honestly, she was having a hard time choosing just one so instead Advi was more than happy to just listen to Suresh’s reasoning and opinion. His mother was a solid choice. Her own was too. Although she still also thought her dad could also be in the running, the teddy bear he had always been. But her? “The idea of my different hormones have certainly not fully sunk in… maybe i will be the worst of the group!” She giggled at his words, giving a small shake of her head. “Maybe you’ll surprise us all and it’ll be you.”
She certainly didn’t think she was light as a feather, but there was something romantic about the fact her husband did and that he carried her through the house with such ease. As for holding on carefully? That was something she aspired to do at all times as well - both physically, such as in moments like this, and emotionally. She gave him a small squeeze, and another kiss, before he was lowering her into her chair and she waved her wand to serve them up. “Is that permission? Because absolutely.” And with that, she gave herself a little extra.
Nothing could replace the evenings together like this, though this one just happened to be extra special.
Scene V Winter 2110. In which Advika and Suresh have to navigate pregnancy mood swings.
Pregnancy. Was. Hard.
When Advika had first learned of her little girl’s existence, she had been so excited. Telling the family, planning early, readying the room… she’d had her birth plan drawn up for months and she was just barely into the third trimester. And she WAS still excited about her girl.
But what she hadn’t been expecting was the lack of sleep, the constant discomfort, the new acne from the added estrogen in her body. And perhaps the biggest of all… how horrible to experience the mood swings actually were. Her poor husband must have been regretting choosing her for his wife now - which usually just made her go from angry to sobbing within minutes.
She felt a lot of guilt. And a lot of anger. And a lot of just wanting to sleep.
Which was exactly what she’d been trying to do, but the minute she’d laid down, baby couldn’t stop bouncing on her bladder so she was forced to give up - get up - and waddle her way towards the bathroom, slamming doors behind her as she went.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Suresh was just as excited, just as thrilled about the little girl growing inside of Advika. He was even more so at the thought of meeting her one day. Oh, he could hardly wait to cradle her in his arms! She would be perfect; with her being a combination of his and Advika’s genetics, how could she not be? The only thing about this new journey the would-be parents were experiencing that Suresh hated was the glaring discomfort Advika experienced. He secretly felt rather guilty about not being able to do more to help.
But as far as regrets went in marrying her? There was none. Zero regrets. Absolutely none.
Suresh had left Advika to have some rest, using the time to catch up with the latest cricket match: India versus Australia. The match was still early with India having bowled only five of the twenty overs so far. Sur’s feet were propped up, his eyes fixed in a hawk-like on the screen, a huge bottle of water in hand and a bowl of snacks on the couch beside him. It was at the precise moment that the first wicket fell for Australia that he heard slamming doors. Instead of quietly celebrating the small victory for his team, he got to his feet. Sur put down the water and beelined for the bathroom. “Advi? You okay in there?” Was she throwing up? Did she need him to be there for her?

In the grand scheme of things, yes, she was doing perfectly fine. However her sour mood always made everything seem more like the WoRsT tHiNg EvEr, when it was truly minor inconveniences. The lack of sleep she was getting perhaps did not fit that bill, but the mounting frustration with the lock in the door that seemed to be forever getting stuck certainly did. She jangled the door knob as she heard Suresh from the other side, pulling on it as best as she could when the thing wouldn't budge still. She could have used her wand, but who needed to bring their wand when doing something as simple as a trip to the bathroom?
An unlucky pregnant woman, apparently. "The door is stuck." She was attempting to not wail it, but mounting frustration had her voice clearly shaky and whinier than she usually would have liked to hear it. "Can you open it from that side?"
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
With the question asked, Suresh braced himself for one of those cranky responses. He never took them personally. Why should they be taken that way when Advika was under a lot of stress from that drastic rise in hormones, and the fact that she was carrying another human being? What he heard was the fussing that was his wife fighting with the bathroom door. Darn it! He had meant to take care of that but had gotten drawn away because of the cricket match.
Now was as good a time as ever.
“Hang on,’’ he called through the door before dashing back to his original spot and grabbing his wand from the coffee table. Rather than wasting his time trying to pry the door open manually, why not use magic to do so AND fix the issue as well? Back at the door, Sur tapped the knob with his wand. “Alohomora.” The door popped open with a little click and he carefully pushed it open. “I know, I know. I’ve got to fix this door. I’m sorry I didn’t earlier.” Suresh gave Advika a sheepish smile as he stepped back to allow her to pass. “I’ll get right on it though.” Even if she decided to give him a lecture about his delinquency in the matter, he deserved it.

Hearing him shout hold on, probably to retrieve his wand, Advi sank to the edge of the tub and perched herself on it with her hands folding over her pregnant belly. There was a million different ways she would prefer to be able to sit, but the growing mound just made it endlessly difficult. She could feel frustrated tears slipping down her cheek - though in reality she knew it wasn't AT Suresh. He had said he'd fix the door before, but he needed breaks as well between his work and living with the soon to be momzilla that she was becoming.
Which she hated by the way. She hated being so grumpy and difficult to be around. And snapping at the love of her life so often for no real reason.
Seeing the door swing open, she didn't move from her spot on the tub. Though, she couldn't determine if it was because she was wallowing or if it was because it was too difficult to stand up. At his apology, she just gave a small shrug, staring at the ground in front of her. She probably could lecture, but her anger was waning and just replaced with self pity.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Suresh had expected Advika to pass him on her way out of the bathroom, even if she was feeling more than grumpy at him. Then again, he supposed that he shouldn’t have been surprised to see her sitting on the edge of the tub and giving him what seemed {in his view} to be a dismissive shrug. Sur could not see her face clearly from this angle so he moved into the bathroom, still clutching his wand.
Rather than asking Advika to grace him with one of her mesmerising looks, he got down on one knee before her. That’s when he saw all the tears coursing down her perfect cheeks. “I’m sorry about the door,’’ Suresh said again, putting his wand on the floor and reaching for Advika’s hand. He didn’t tell her to stop crying; she needed to get all the emotions out and he was here, ready to be her punching bag or the shoulder she needed to cry in. Suresh didn’t like to see her crying so much but knew it could not be helped. He also felt guilty because he had said was ready for children even if he wasn’t the one who had to go through all the hormonal, physical, mental and all the other struggles that came with pregnancy.

It was so so unfair of her to always be verbally taking her frustration out on him. She knew she snapped at Sur more often than she ever had before, in probably the last month alone. And turning into that type of person just always made her emotions feel even more haywire and made her grumpier still because she hated pregnant Advika. Hated her. She was glad to be pregnant because at the end of it all, they would have a beautiful little girl, but the process to getting there STUNK. She had a hard time imagining ever doing this again, but she also went to a group with other mom’s to be and everyone who was on baby number 2 or 3 assured her she would feel much different on that when she held her little one in her arms. She was placing all her trust on those reassurances.
When Suresh dropped to his knees in front of her, she looked up a little bit, using her free hand to wipe her cheeks when he took her other one. She gave his hand a small squeeze, before shaking her head at his apology. “It’s okay. It’s not really your fault. I could have done something for the door to before this.” Leaning forward, she rested her forehead against his shoulder. “I’m sorry I’m so awful right now. How do you even want to be home and around me?” SHE didn’t even want to be home and around herself.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
It was fine. It was all fine.
Suresh meant it when he said that facing all her frustration and other bad moods didn’t bother him. On a regular day, Advika would never do such a thing to him; he always reminded himself of that. He didn’t envy anyone who was female. The things the gender had to endure… they were to be admired for braving it all.
Suresh was just quiet for the moment. He had learnt it was best to let his pregnant wife say what she needed to then he’d offer his reply. He could not always tell when Adivka may want to vent verbally. Sur even thought that he’d take it silently if she wanted to beat her fists on his chest. “What’s important is that it’s fixed now. I’ll even check the other doors to make sure they’re in tip-top shape. Promise.” Her question made him chuckle lightly as he hugged his wife lightly. “Because I like looking at you waddling around,’’ he joked, knowing fully well the response could blow up spectacularly in his face. “You look extra cute that way.”

It was perhaps the fact she knew that he meant it that made her feel in some ways even worse. Her husband was absolutely the sweetest, kindest, most understanding man that the universe had been graced with. And she'd been lucky enough that he fell in love with HER. And on a good day, she didn't quite feel like she deserved that gift. But currently? She knew she didn't.
"Thank you." She settled with a simple reply, deciding he was right. It was handled and it didn't matter much now to try to assign any type of blame anywhere. The hug made her feel better and she relaxed into it, turning her head so she could rest her cheek against his shoulder instead of her forehead. She nearly felt her heckles raise at the mention of a waddle... but he was right. And he was also being sincere that for some reason, this amazing man still even thought she was cute. "I'm glad you like it. Considering how often I am up and waddling around the house anyways." She could never get comfortable enough to relax. Whenever she did, baby went haywire in her stomach.
Which speaking of, the little gave a particularly powerful kick as she had settled, causing the woman to jerk back a bit with a wince. "I think we have a little cricket player. She is powerful." She reached for Sur's hand, placing it on her abdomen so he could feel baby as well.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
He didn’t know about all of those lovely descriptions but he did know that if Advika thought he was all those things, then it was clear that he was being his best possible self for her. There wasn’t a woman in the world who deserved to have the best husband, even when she was being stubborn or an emotional ball of hormones. What she presently deserved could be put up for debate. However, he had a feeling that such an activity could possibly make Advika dissolve into tears.
“Mhmm you’re welcome, my love.” So while Suresh did not get thrashed by Advika’s fists, he was pleased that she seemed to be taking a moment to reset her emotions. Or, at least, attempt to. The man brought his arms around her and attempted to rub her back in a soothing way, which was lucky because it had struck him a little too late that he should not have mentioned waddles. Suresh actually held his breath, waiting for the explosion he thought inevitable. It did not arrive. He let out his breath of relief. “It is quite a sight. A good sight.” Anything Advika could only be good.
Her next movement sent up alarm bells in him. Was she going into labour? Did she need a Healer? No, it turned out neither of his concerns needed his worry. Suresh looked into that beautiful face, his own filled with awe. “I can feel her.” His voice was filled with wonderment. Yes, their baby was powerful indeed! “I think she’s pretending to whack a ball with a bat in there.” Suresh chuckled at his words. “Does it hurt when she does that?”
