Overview
Cursebreaker Suresh and museum curator Advika first met while attending Wizarding University in Mumbai, both smitten at first sight with one willing to admit so and the other showing some reluctance. Time was all Advi needed to come to come to admit she in it for the long haul with the man who never ceased to charm her. They began to date, going on to later be wed and are now enjoying their lives in their relocated home in Wales, Great Britain.

He had a point there, and her smile suggested she thought as much as she gave a small nod. "You're not wrong. I guess they definitely would still have their place." For now, they just came in handy for becoming the 'mom' of her group of friends. The one with snacks was always 'mom' and she had plenty to share when she went out. "That's why I first tried them. The deep color was so mesmerizing, I couldn't resist! And then the flavor was just as good and I've been hooked since." Kiwis was her favorite? Despite everything she told herself, she still found herself tucking this information into the back of her mind. "Very faithful to your favorite fruit then, I see. Kiwi is also a good choice!" She liked the feel of them, before they were peeled.

His similar interest to knowledge was something that she had to admit was attractive. A lot of people just seemed to not care, her usual friends included, but he did and it made it even more fun to converse with him. "I would certiainly enjoy that. Immortatlity is not usually an interest for me either - always sound lonely - but it's also hard to not mourn things that we'll never get to know. We can always learn about the past, we're not so lucky regarding the future." Even seers could only see fragments, it seemed. At his question, her eyes turned back towards the display and she examined the instrument. "All of the body is connected, not taking proper care of one area can often lead to illness somewhere that might seem unrelated. That includes teeth, which is most often overlooked. Taking care of your mouth just as much as the rest of your body is important for overall health."

Suresh was so thrilled that he was learning so much about this goddess! Every detail that she revealed about herself, he mentally stored it. Was that creepy or romantic? Take your pick but to him, it was romantic. And it was clear of the effort that he was trying to do his best to show Advi just how much he liked her. By now she would have already garnered as much though. “I’m faithful to everything that I like,’’ Suresh commented as modestly as he could.

Oh, yes. Sur had always been interested in knowledge. He would say that it paid off for him for his education and for scoring a point with Advika. The fact that she understood his thoughts about the entire immortality topic really warmed his heart. He had actually had others argue with him about immortality being far superior than the cycle of life and death. “Indeed. I feel like I’m mourning right now for it.” This much was true. “Imagine taking a Time Turner into the future though, for a quick view of life then.” The man listened to Advika’s explanation. “That’s true. Been due for a cleaning and polishing for a bit now.” He chuckled, registering the information she had just provided in his brain. “Shall we move on? There’s so much to see, and we’ve got to take advantage of it not being that busy.” Sur was quite tempted to ask Advika if she wanted to stop somewhere for a bite with him. Or would that be pushing his luck?

Suresh's interest was very clear to her, which was why she'd been doing her best to stay away from him. Not because she had anything against him, but rather because he was sweet and kind and handsome and exactly the type of distraction she had been looking to avoid. The more they talked too, the more she started to panic a bit - particularly at his last comment, because the fact her insides were turning into such mush was feeling very - very dangerous. Which was when she realized too her arm was still through his, which she quickly extracted trying to seem as nonchalant as possible.

People always seemed to think immortality was king and yet... if you couldn't grant it for everyone you cared about, it sounded more painful than anything else to her. The ability to fast forward really would be nice wouldn't it? "That would be a tempting notion, but I think I wouldn't take it. It'd be too easy to get an accidental spoiler of your own future and I want to be surprised and excited about the things that happen in my life as they happen." Was that silly too? Perhaps. At his question of if they should move on, her inner panic was still full fledged and she could see this as her opportunity to steal away before she let this many occupy anymore of her mind ~~and perhaps heart, though she'd never say it out loud~~ than he already did. Tucking her hair nervously behind her ear, she gave what she hoped was an apologetic smile. "I would love too, but looking at this particular display reminded me I have a paper due Monday that I haven't even started on." She did have a paper on Monday, but it had been done for days. "I hate to do this, but ... I should run. I'm sorry to cut the day short."

And…

He blew it. Suresh knew it immediately after the sentence was out of his mouth. He hadn’t meant to make that sound as though he were coming on strong. It was with a sinking feeling he watched Advika dislodge her arm from his. He bit the inside of his cheek and tried to carry on as though he weren’t bothered at all.

No, Sur didn’t think that was silly at all. In fact… “I agree with you. I’d rather be surprised by my future. Who wants to spend all their time ensuring that they do all the right things to lead up to what they saw anyway?” Even if something that he didn’t want to happen had indeed happened, he wouldn’t spend his time in the past trying to avoid it.

Oh.

She wanted to go. Suresh mentally kicked himself as he nodded. “That’s fine. Papers are important, right?” There was a forced smile. “See you around then.” Or maybe not? It was glaringly clear that she was going to keep rejecting him. Maybe it was time to give his persuasion a rest? Perhaps it was best that he spend the next few days avoiding Advika.

Scene IV
Spring 2110. Advika has a pleasant surprise for Suresh.

It had been weeks where Advika had been feeling mildly ill. She was certain that with the changing of the season from Winter to Spring, she was just being hit with allergies or perhaps had picked up a bug at the museum. They'd been doing a LOT of student tours lately and she knew how easy it was for children to pass germs back and forth. The possibility she might have picked something up too had seemed entirely plausible.

But should it really have gone on THIS long? She didn't think so. And after spending the morning locked in their loo after Sur had already gone into work, when she was finally able to surface Advi had packed herself up and headed straight to her Dr's office to be looked at. She'd avoided telling her sweet husband, not wanting to worry him unless there was something he needed to be worried about.

And after some tests, she was extra glad she had decided to not tell him lest he had insisted on coming with her. Instead, she finished her appointment after her diagnosis, and headed straight to the store to buy a couple of items. She'd considered buying ingredients to make him dinner too since she had extra time, but instead opted to order something take out right before eating so she knew what she could get to settle. Instead, she'd gotten some flowers and candles and a couple of supplies for rearranging her office. Nothing HUGE but... a couple of key pieces of furniture and some smaller items for him to unwrap. She then spent the rest of the afternoon redecorating, eyeing the clock in the room so she could see him before he came looking for her here.

Advika might not have told him just how violently ill she had been but he knew there was something off. True, he didn’t know about the vomiting but he still worried nonstop for her. Suresh hated to see his Advika anything but happy and healthy. He had advised her to take the day but she was still so stubborn, he would be surprised to learn that she had actually gone in to the museum after he left for Gringotts.

Unknowing to him, he’d also opted to do some shopping after work. Just what had Sur gotten the loveliest wife? A ginormous pink and white teddy bear. The teddy was holding a heart in both hands that read ‘I LOVE YOU’ in bold letters. There was some issue of him actually fitting it through the door to their house because it was so wide; Suresh was literally hidden behind the thing. But eventually, after some ruckus, he stumbled through the doorway. “Advi? Are you home?”

Yep, the manchild was still clinging to the bear, scrambling his hands around the middle of it so that his grip would be better but still keep the heart unhindered from Advi's view. Hopefully she would like her present and it would lift her spirit.

In truth, she had been planning on going into the museum still even after her doctors appointment. It was only the excitement of preparing a surprise at home for her husband that had gotten her to actually call out for the day.

With her preparation, she had also gotten some new clothes that would be more comfortable in the coming months - and she couldn't resist slipping into one of the soft stretchy materials in a deep emerald. She'd just finished changing when she heard her husband's voice. Double checking that the door to the office was securely shut, she scurried herself (carefully) down the hall and towards the main entry way, using her wand to light the candles she'd placed around the dining room. "I'm home already!" She called back, before finally making it to where he'd called from and... blinking. The giant teddy bear... had he somehow already known!? She'd almost asked before remembering it would also be just like Sur to bring something like this home as a gift for her, so she refrained from blurting anything out and instead switched to a giggle. "Did you encounter a curse today that turned you into a giant teddy bear?"

Not that he wasn't already a giant teddy bear in attitude. Perhaps it really just matched personality?

Suresh’s face {though it couldn’t be seen since it was hidden behind the bear} lit up with a huge smile. Advika sounded so much better. The worry evaporated out of him, leaving him feeling as though the weight of the world had been lifted from his shoulders. Her cute giggle made his heart race in delight. Good golly! He loved her so much!

The man put on a false squeaky voice. “Hi, beautiful lady. My name is Beary.” That wasn’t the best of names but it was all Suresh could think of right now. “I’m here to remind you that your hubby loves you more than anything in the world!’’ With that, Suresh stuck his face out from behind Beary. He was grinning. “This is me in plushy form,’’ he remarked, moving carefully over to Advika. “Special delivery for you.” Suresh quickly looked over his wife. “Feeling like yourself again?”

The bear voice had her giggling again, and she raised her hand to stifle it. It's true she was currently elated in general, but seeing her husband also always further brightened her day. He had to be the sweetest man in existence, and his goofiness also further endeared him to her. Something she'd honestly thought not to be possible given how strongly she felt to begin with. "Well, hello Beary. Where is my husband so I can thank him?" She grinned before also stepping closer towards him so that when Suresh's head popped out from behind the bear, she was close enough to give him a peck on the cheek. "There you are. It certainly does remind me of you! I love it, thank you."

And she was pretty sure there was someone who would love it even more. At the question of if she was feeling like herself again, she considered for a moment on how to answer without giving too much away. "I feel better." Even physically right now she was okay. "I went to see a Healer today just to make sure. There's nothing wrong with me." All of which was true. "I ended up not going into work either, but I did some stuff around the house and reorganized in the office. I think they're might be a great spot for Beary if you're up to helping me get him set up in his new home there?"

It would forever be his mission to keep Advika happy and entertained. It has been so since he had first met her and it will always be this way. So today… MISSION ACCOMPLISHED indeed! Sur was right here! The rest of his body might be hidden behind Beary but his head was definitely visible and appeared to be floating. His smile grew wider, if that was something that could actually happen in the moment. “You’re welcome! I’m glad you do! But good luck finding a place to put him. Though… I suppose we can shrink him for now?” There was a thoughtful look on his face.

It lifted his mood to hear that Advika was doing better and that the Healer hadn’t found anything of concern with her. It also made him relieved. Suresh did not like to think about what his life would be if anything happened to Advika. She gave him so much good news in so little words, did she know? “That’s great on all counts! Plus, you deserve a break. You always work so hard.” With a tad difficulty, Suresh waddled his way like a duck so that he could be closer to his wife. He paused to give her a soft kiss on her lips. “Let’s show Beary his new spot then.” Lead the way, you wonderful goddess!

It was pure luck that he had brought this home today, and that she had the spot for him. But as they filled the 'office' space with even more items, it might be that they eventually would need to actually shrink him a bit more for the sake of space. For the time being, Beary and his giant squishable adorableness was perfect the size that it was. "Shrinking him might be a good idea later, but for now I think he'll be okay."

It was SO difficult to not just blurt out her news now, but she had worked really hard that afternoon on the reveal. And considering how out of sorts her body was feeling and weak, that had been a LOT of energy. But it was going to be worth every moment once she saw her husband's face, she was sure. His waddle was really cute and she giggled before happily returning his kiss. She wanted to wrap her arms around his to lead him into the room, but Beary would make doing so difficult so instead she contented herself with skipping ahead of him in order to open the office door so he and Bear could get inside. "I hope you don't mind the changes. It'll be a bit harder to get work done in here but... it's a very necessary change." She'd blocked the way with her body for a moment though she imagined the stuffed animal would make it hard enough for him to see, but at her words she stepped further inside so he could move in and look around.

Where they used to have shelves of books and two desks for working space (which she HAD set up in another room for them), now in this room there was a white crib and changing table, with a gray rocking chair in the corner. There was still a lot they'd have to purchase once a gender was known, but the time being she just wanted to make it abundantly obvious that there household was expanded. And not just by a giant bear. "I think he'll be pretty comfortable in the rocker until we need to kick him out to rock our child."

Still completely oblivious to all the thoughts that were whirling around in his wife’s head, Suresh happily nodded. “We get to experience all his giant fluffy face in all of its glory for a while longer then,’’ he remarked, fully aware how silly he was being right now. Waddles, kisses and giggles! There was so much to look forward to when he was with Advika. Suresh loved his life so much! He continued waddling, determined to further amuse her and he eventually made it to the designated room. He peered at her from behind Beary, his mind soaking in the words. “I’m sure I wouldn’t mind the changes but why are they so necessary?” It was only until he actually stepped into the room that he was able to really take in the view.

Suresh was too busy checking the place out to bother putting Beary down, so he ended up sticking his head out to the side yet again in the process. A crib… a rocking chair… was that a changing table? His brain couldn’t make sense of the objects but since he wasn’t one of those husbands who drowned his wife out when she spoke, her words registered a lot faster. Suresh and Beary spun around to face her. “Our child?” His face was written with shock, but it was the good kind.

Was it possible to pass out from sheer joy? Because Suresh just might.

She didn't want to ruin any of the experience of getting to watch him find out about their offspring by answering any of his questions and giving things further away. So as they entered, she had stuck to giggles at his silly antics (merlin she loved him) and then stood in the middle of the room so he could see it all. He seemed so in shock by the new decor he hadn't even placed the bear down, so Advika moved forward to try to pull the bear away so she could sit it down in the aforementioned rocker.

"That was the doctor's diagnosis today. I've been feeling out of sorts because I'm pregnant." What she had thought to be some type of flu, had truly just been morning sickness taking it's toll on her. It was quite silly the thought hadn't even crossed either of their minds of it being a possibility, but work and just enjoying their time together was usually so forefront it just... had not seemed to occur. Her smile had been large though from the moment she'd been told the news, and even more so now that she was getting to share it with her husband.

Suresh tried to get words out, to let Advik know that he was listening to her but they failed to get past his tongue. They lingered there stubbornly. Thinking back, he couldn’t understand why he hadn’t figured out the possibility that she might be pregnant. The symptoms had been right there in front of him. Nevermind that, he told himself. The fact was that this was now confirmed and

HE WAS GOING TO BE A FATHER!!!!!!

Sur cleared his throat and tried to speak again. With Beary gone from his arms, this meant they were free. Free to catch his lovely goddess of a wife in his arms and hold her close. The words didn’t seem to want to come forth still but that was fine, right? The hug conveyed a message. As did the tears in his eyes {which he made no attempt to hide} were enough to show how happy he was.

His silence was not a concern to her, especially because Suresh was absolutely someone who wore his heart on his sleeve so even if words were currently failing him - she could clearly see it wasn't because he wasn't pleased by the information of their family expanding. Just taken aback.

And then she was in his arms, and she was happily wrapping hers around him as well, giving him a soft squeeze as her own happy tears leaked from her eyes. She hadn't been expecting this so soon in their marriage, but she was beyond excited for a new chapter. And now that she'd told Sur too, they could brainstorm together how to also inform their families which she was sure was to be an equally exciting moment. She could only imagine how much her own Maan would react to the birth of a first grandchild. "I'm so excited. I fel silly too though we didn't expect this." Not when she started getting such weird flu symptoms.

They could cry together.

This was a moment that they had been hoping for, but yes… Advi had a point: neither of them had expected it still. “It’s probably a good thing that we did not spend all our energy hoping it would happen. We would have been obsessive and maybe think that it wasn’t happening quickly enough.” But it had happened! And that too with them living their lives as normal and him being sillier than usual.

Suresh sniffed, squishing Advika but being careful at the same time. Protective papa mode activated!!! And now, he had a ton of questions. “How far along are you? Do we want to know gender or do we want to be surprised? Should we start picking out unisex names in that case? Should we do one of those gender reveal parties?”

Her head nodded in total agreement with her husband. It was good this had happened as a surprise, because now that she knew, all she wanted to do was obsess and plan over the coming little one. Considering the first day she'd found out about the pregnancy she'd changed a room for baby, she could only imagine how she would have driven her husband crazy if they'd been trying to plan for this. "I think you're right. This has definitely happened just the way as it should." The universe had looked out for them.

Another giggle as her husband errupted into a flood of questions. See, they both would have been obsessive prior. "I'm about 10 weeks currently. So my 'stomach flu' shouldn't almost be non-existent." If she was lucky, she did hear someone women got morning sickness although way to the third trimester. "I... haven't thought about knowing the gender or not. I think it might be fun to find out before. Maybe we could do one of those gender reveals with just our families?" The idea of needing to find a name for a little was so surreal, but in the best way possible. "I want to look at names as soon as possible, just for the fun of it. So let's start at unisex!" Maybe they'd find something they loved before they knew baby's gender.

Suresh would agree: the Universe looked out for them. The timing was right and he and Advi would have nothing to worry about, he could feel it. They didn’t have to worry about being great parents, they didn’t have to worry about being able to provide for the little one nor did they have to worry about their child being raised with a shortness of love - not when there were so many family members around. Yes, this would mean huge changes to their lives but starting now, they would adjust.

Were his questions the cause of those precious giggles? Maybe he should ask some more later on. Ten weeks… just about two and a half months which meant there was still seven and a half remaining. During that time, Sur would watch Advi go through many changes; changes that were not limited to the physical ones. “A gender reveal would be nice.” Suresh laughed before adding, “I think our mothers would love that. I can see them being even more excited to find out the gender than we are.” Narrowing down a list of names was something they could get started with soon! “How about I pick up a book of baby names tomorrow?” Sure, they could use the internet but Sur thought that an actual book would be a lot better and fun.

Changes were certainly imminent, but Advika was likewise confident it was nothing they wouldn't be able to handle - even on the hard days. They were a good partnership to begin with, and she was excited to see how that only continued to develop with the new challenge of parenthood once baby arrived. Thinking that word alone was enough to want her to weep happy tears, but she contented herself instead with just giving her husband another squeeze.

She could only imagine the emotional changes she was going to undergo, considering she had already noticed more minor mood swings the last few weeks. Advika had assumed it was just the mental stress of having been sick for an extended period of time, but now she was realizing it had just been her hormone changes. She certainly hoped that particular symptom did not get worse... "We should think of a fun way to tell them about the baby too! Oh I can't wait to see their faces when they know too." She was already calling it now that her father would also get weepy. He'd never been a man scared to show his emotion, and her bond with him had always been strong. A physical book sounded wonderful to her, and her face stretched into a wide grin as she excitedly nodded in agreement. "Yes! Maybe a new pack of highlighters too? We could each have a designated color and see what names we like over time and then compare?" She also just liked to annotate books - any excuse to do it was a good one.

A fun way to break the news to the family…

Suresh’s brain took off with his wife’s words. “A dinner! We could brainstorm a way to bring up the topic or hint at it and see how long it takes someone to figure the news out,” he replied, quite enthusiastic about the idea already. This was translated into his embrace with Advi when he gave her a careful squish. “But wait. Would that be too much on you even if I help?” He gave her a cautious but questioning look. The last thing this man wanted to do was to overwork the wife. “It doesn’t have to be a huge dinner. Just our parents, maybe my brothers and their families. Among that group of them, our news is bound to spread quickly to the rest of the family.”

Suresh was thinking along the same wavelength as Advika. "Lots of tears." Knowing his own mother… well, she and his mother-in-law would probably end up hugging each other while having a tear fest. The fathers would get all misty eyed and try not to be too over emotional. “That’s a great idea! I’ll do exactly that.” Already Sur was looking forward to the project that awaited them. But for now… “Do you need anything? Anything in particular to eat?” How long did it take for cravings to step in anyway?

He was so sweet, and always considerate of her. Which given the new hormones coursing through her made her even extra softer than it usually did. "It won't be too much. We can plan a menu and if I'm too tired to make it, I promise I have no problem ordering catering from one of our favorite places instead!" See, it would be easy peasy! "Maybe we could specially charm each of the dinner plates? So that after they've been filled and finished, their new title in relevance to our little one shows up in writing on it? Then they might all find out at varying times too." It was subtle enough too that it might give some confusion until it clicked for the group.

She giggled at the comment of tears, giving her head a nod in agreement. She'd have to make sure there were plenty of tissues in the house when this event happened. She beamed at him, standing on tip toe again to give him another kiss. She was already anxious to look at the book, and do more preparations for baby. And she could only imagine how much worse she was going to get considering she had found out the news herself less than 12 hours ago. "I'm okay for right now. But we do have some takeout still warm for us to eat!" She'd figured he'd be hungry after a long day which is why she'd ordered in instead of them making dinner together like they often did.

Softy Advi, harsh Advi… it didn’t matter to Suresh. He had loved her from way back and he would continue to love her even more whatever her moods. “If you decide to make all the dishes, you know I’m there to help,’’ he told her, pecking her cheek. “Ordering is fine too. Shall we plan for this weekend then? Or maybe the next one?” Sur hadn’t any plans for either weekend anyway. But, but, but…!!! Wasn’t his wife a genius? “That’s brilliant, Advi! I love it! Let’s do that.” Suresh was grinning, picturing this happening in his mind. “The revelation alone will be enough to keep them from wanting to doze off after a big meal.”

Advi kisses! These were definitely his favourite kisses. They left his heart full and happy. The man actually hadn’t realised just how hungry he was until dinner was mentioned. “Yes, please,’’ he replied, hugging Advi. “We should go eat; all the excitement has worked up my appetite.” Even so, Suresh made no effort to release his sweet wife just yet.

There truly were not enough words in any of the languages she knew to adequately express how much she appreciated him. And even less to express her gratitude to both him and the universe for not having given up on her when she'd been so needlessly stubborn about his courting her. Her life would have been so bleak without him in it, and even more so now with the child they were having together. She was truly so happy. Grinning at him and his promise of help, she nodded her head. "I know you will!" He always helped, even when he was exhausted after a long day. It was perhaps a little early to tell everyone this weekend, in case of the unimaginable happening, but she was so excited to celebrate with her family she threw caution to the wind - once again trusting the universe that had not yet let her down. "Let's see if everyone is available this weekend! If not, we can push it. Maybe we should tell them one of us received a promotion and we wanted to celebrate it?" So they weren't IMMEDIATELY suspicious anyways. And technically... it wasn't even a lie, they were both being promoted to parents. "I believe we've beaten the secret to food comas!" She giggled in reply.

More giggles too at his assent to food and yet he was still keeping her (willingly) captive in his arms. She wrapped her own around his waist again, laying her head against his chest and enjoy this moment with her person. "We should definitely go get food in your belly then."

Advika was still stubborn. She was so obstinate, this gorgeous goddess that was his. It was still a challenge for him but this was also one of the reasons he had fell so deeply for her. It made sense that he still was on the ball with this challenge. With the fact that Sur would be helping out in dinner preparation out of the way, returned the grin, clearly amused at how determined Advika was to pull the event on as soon as possible. Suresh could not blame her, and her excitement for it was so contagious. “Brilliant! I’ll leave that up to you then. You know my family would be over here in a heartbeat if its you asking them to be.” They would be for Suresh too but they’d most likely be faster for Advi.

He held her. He held her close. Now there just wasn’t the lovely wife to protect.
