Default It's Elemental, Dear Interns

Department of Mysteries; summer 2100

"It's elemental, dear interns"

During the summer of 2100, the Ministry of Magic opened it's doors to the wizarding youth to experience what a career and day in the life of a Ministry employee could be - even for the most maximum-security of departments, the Department of Mysteries. The three selected (Nina Castillo, Lucas Dakest, and Mackenzie Motts) faced a most unusual of tasks, one not of department head Airey Flamsteed's own creation but coming from the department itself...

With the THAT situation now dealt with, his attention turned to the three interns. "Where were we?" he sighed while tightening his tie once again, a fresh waterfall of water dripping from the silk. "As you can see, this chamber has started playing games and is disrupting the productivity of the Unspeakables. I cannot afford to put any of them on the task of solving the riddles the Entry Chamber is handing out, so I need you three to sort this out. As you can see, anyone who passes through the door to my office is greeted by what can only be described as a torrential downpour." Hence him being soaking wet and why he was not bothering to dry himself off just yet. "Each door posses its own...quirk, if you will. Before Miss Mott's friend interrupted progress, it seemed as though the chamber wanted you three to experience that door." The one that had swung slightly ajar once the room had stopped its spinning.

Nina did feel sorry for Mackenzie, but even more than that, she felt a sudden onset of appreciation for Calyx Morgan-Bott who knew how to respect boundaries and would never embarrass her like that. With all that being said, she was quite relieved to see that Kodee Chosen was being taken away, as she was sure that if he stayed here any longer, Mr. Flamsteed might actually short-circuit.

The Slytherin's attention turned back to their Department Head as he began explaining. He still looked like he was in mild pain, by the way. Also, um, whatever the task was that he was about to give them... Could it not involve going under the same rainstorm as he had? Because (as previously stated!!!) Nina wasn't wearing waterproof mascara today and her makeup didn't fare well under torrential downpour. Thanks!

............ That door? You mean the one that had mysteriously creaked open? As if! Nina Castillo had applied for this position for the simple reason that she was hoping to work with RUNES. She had absolutely no intention of walking through mysterious doors and going on adventures. That was a job for Gryffindors. Which is exactly why she turned and gave Lucas Dakest an expectant look. He would have to go in first. It was his duty as a Gryffindor. And he was also a boy. Boys should ALWAYS have to go first when it comes to the mysterious unknown. It was in the rules. Nina just said so.
