Hogwarts Hide N Seek Over the first week of November, the rare sight of one Vera Brinley Thanatos making her way to noticeboards around the castle could have been seen - a sheet of colored paper left behind in her wake with a simple invitation for the first Sunday after Halloween for anyone who was interested to meet in the Room of Requirement for (what she was hoping would be) the largest, most exciting round of Hide and Seek the castle walls had ever seen. This is an open event for anyone who wants to participate, please feel free to add however many characters you want! I will edit this post with participants. You can RP your characters giving Vera their name, or just put it in the title of your post and canon that they already had. Ve will explain the boundaries and any rules before the game gets started. ^_^ SPOILER!!: Character List |
IT WAS HIDE AND GO SEEK DAY. And she was ENTIRELY way too excited. Or at least, she was for now while she was feeling optimistic that people might actually come. There was no age requirement, no year restrictions. She kind of doubted that a lot of older students would be interested in this event, but if they were she'd just take that as cool points for herself and hope that they actually had a good time. AND note which ones were clearly more FUN than the others, because Hide and Go Seek was for all ages. She'd even invite Professors if any were interested! But that was even more of a stretch than older students. Anyways. She was pumped, and pretty sure she had the room ready. There was a giant chalkboard she had covered for the time being with all the rules she'd thought up prior written out, and then her notebook still at her side for anything additional she felt the need to add. As a last minute addition, she scribbled a quick sign that stated: Quote:
With all those last minute details taken care of, she folded her hands on her sign up paper (which was really just her way to make sure no one was not 'found' because that was traumatic at best) and waited for anyone to show. Eyes wide and trained on the door with a waiting smile. Come and plaaaay. |
He totally already told Vera he'd be there! :D Logan was sold the moment an excuse to avoid homework came up. Naturally, any opportunity to not sit in the study nook in the common room, the too-quiet library, or that boring study hall was one he seized without hesitation. Carpe diem and all of that. It would not be surprising at all that he told Vera he'd participate in her little hide-and-seek game. Plus he probably would never hear the end of it if he didn't show up to support her and all of that. Though he didn't care about what he wore, the third year had taken the liberty to dress in all black like a ninja. He even had a black beanie on to cover up those Lucious blond locks of his. Unless Vera had anything up her sleeve, which he wouldn't know because she purposefully hadn't told him anything -- HMPH, he assumed that there would be plenty of dark areas he could disappear into. He had no worries about ~blending~ into his surroundings and staying quiet (the former being more of a challenge than the first in all honesty). "Well, well, well. Look who is the first to arrive," he announced as he strut into the room. He instantly helped himself to the cookies that were there. Merlin only knew how long he'd be in hiding. It was best to fuel up now. |
Hi! :3 Who didn't like a fun game of hide and seek, really? Yukie enjoyed that game so much in her youth, making use of her smolness to her advantage whenever she hid from dad or any of her siblings. So when she heard about this huge hide and seek event being organised by another student, the Hufflepuff was very much interested in participating. Also, she'd baked earlier in the morning too and felt this would be a nice way to share her baked goods. Yukie made her way over to the seventh floor with a box of assorted baked goods in her hands. She knew where the room of requirement was, having visited it with Luca previously, so she wasted no time getting lost and making detours. Spotting two students by a desk, the littlest Rasting made her way to them. "Hi! Is this for the hide and seek thing?" Always best to ask. "I'm Yukie Rasting! I brought baked goods." Cookies, brownies, and biscuits, all baked by yours truly! |
He was here. Vera could thank him later. Obviously she needed him to show up and assist her with whatever he was positive she was going to need him for. As this was the way for the two of them. Vasco was forever pulling his twin out of one mess or another. Strengthening plans for something she wanted to pull off. For as much as they were alike, they were different. Very different. Yet, as much as she drove him crazy on a daily basis, he was always there for her. So forgive him when he walked into the RoR and there was his sister sat behind a table with parchment and writing supplies, snack items on hand too. Maybe she did have things under control for once. It looked like she might actually pull this off. Being the ever supportive brother that he was, he strode right on over towards her and his bestie Logan. "For a huge birthday bash, it's seriously lacking chocolate and cake." Vas gave Vera a cheeky grin, one that showed he was teasing her. A hand lightly clapped his buddy on the shoulder. "We've got this." There was no doubt in his mind that they were going to rock this. |
of course there's a Sia, when Vera's involved Was there any doubt that Sable Ileana would participate in any scheme that Bestie came up with? Or any schemes the others in her core crew of four here at Hogwarts came up with, including herself. Not that she suspected Vas came up with many schemes on his own, being the lone Ravenclaw of the group. He was more the brains of the operation, making sure things went as planned. She was the ringleader who regularly acted without planning, but that was beside the point. This was a Vera plan, but of course the blonde was going to be there. There in black leggings, combat boots, and a black long sleeved shirt under her ever-present coat. In case anyone forgot her role. Plus, it was practically a security blanket, and it was cozy. In case things moved outside, she didn’t want to freeze. She’d laughed a little upon arrival and seeing Logan’s attire. “Great minds think alike?” The comment had been rather tossed at him as she went over to perch on Bestie’s table. She didn’t mind matching, but it had to be known it wasn’t planned. Now, if it was Vera, she’d be all for matching. “Chocolate and cake would be amazing”, she added, hearing Vas’s teasing. Except it appeared he hadn’t brought any, which was disappointing. He shouldn’t say these things without following through. Chocolate wasn’t a joking matter. |
Moritz Schultz reporting for hide and seek! A giant game of hide and seek? It wasn't the weirdest thing anyone had ever put together here at Hogwarts, and Moe had to admit he was intrigued. Would they end up branching out and using the whole castle? Because if they got a LOT of people in on this, that could be kind of fun! He'd already thought of at least like, five different hiding places he could pick from. Should he be doing his transfiguration homework instead right now? Absolutely. But this sounded way more fun, and honestly his brain was starting to hurt from staring at the same chapter on switching spells all weekend. Even Ravenclaws needed a break from reading every once in a while! "Uh, hi, I'm Moritz Schultz, 4th year Ravenclaw," he told the girl - Vera, he was pretty sure her name was? - as he entered the Room of Requirement and looked around. Alright, a good number of people had already arrived, which was promising! He saw the sign about partnering up, so he scanned the room quickly, grinning as he spotted Yukie nearby. Oh good, he was afraid he wasn't going to know anyone here! He'd told Nancy about it, hoping to get her out of her common room and out making friends He walked up behind Yukie and reached his arm around, tapping her opposite shoulder playfully before approaching from her other side and grabbing a cookie off the plate with a grin. "You baked me cookies?! Aren't you sweet!" he joked before shoving the cookie in his mouth. "Wanna partner up?" he asked through a mouthful of cookie, pointing at the sign. |
Yukie...did not recognise anyone in her year just yet. She figured most of them here were the organiser, Vera's friends. And that's okay! As more of them came to join the growing group, Yukie offered each of them an acknowledging smile. It was when she heard the boy (Vasco) mention that it was a birthday bash, that Yukie's eyes widened and she looked at Vera. "It's your birthday? Oh Merlin, happy birthday!" The boy was right, the lack of cake was a serious matter! If Yukie had known, maybe she would have tried baking a mini cake instead. Or maybe even just a cupcake with a birthday candle! She didn't know, of course. How would she have known, really? Still, it's no birthday without some cake. She hoped her baked goods would suffice, though. The cookies especially were made with her mum's recipes, and any creations made by the original Hogwarts cookie girl (shout out to mum!) were guaranteed to be GREAT. The whole cake dilemma certainly distracted her from Moe's arrival. Yukie turned to her side, clueless, when she felt a tap on her shoulder. And there was nobody? She twirled to see it had been anyone behind her, until she stopped to face Moe, who had STOLEN one of her cookies. The Hufflepuff opened her mouth to say something, but instead a laugh escaped her. "Oh, shush! They're not just for you, Mr. Cookie Thief." Yukie joked, grinning, and then nodded to his question to partner up. "Yes, I'd like too!" She was ready to fly solo if nobody in her class arrived, but things are always better with company. Oh, and important question! "What do you think of the cookie? Ten out of ten, right?" Yukie wiggled her brows. She was NOT going to accept any rating lower than ten. |
Logan was right there, she absolutely would not have let him hear the end of it if he didn't show. Besides, with Vasco's promise to be there anyways she figured he might actually even WANT to, as if avoiding wasn't already enough of a motivator for him. It also wasn't really a surprise to her that he was the first to arrive either, actually she was almost even surprised he hadn't tried to come with when she first left the common room - if only to try to scout out other hiding spots. "I should have made you set up." Except not really. She was trying to prove to her brother here she could actually think something through! Because she had a proposal later and it would only work if he had some faith in her abilities. Someone else entering gave her the best excuse to go back to ignoring her fellow Gryffindor, attention instead turning to the new person entering. She was pretty sure she'd seen her in a yellow so... A hufflepuff maybe? "That's us! Thanks for coming to play! I think it'll be a ton of fun!" Or well... she hoped. UM WAIT did this girl also just say she brought more food!? Bless. New favorite upperclassmen. "It's nice to meet you, Yukie! I'm Vera! That's Logan." She pointed at the other inhabitant, before directing her hand motion towards the snack table. "And behind him is a table with snacks so if you want to set yours there you're welcome to do so! Thank you for bringing stuff!" Unnecessary, but entirely appreciated. And there was her twin!! Ve beamed when he entered, and in the rare show of genuine affection and not some scheme, she got up from her own seat and jumped on him to give him a squeeeeeeze, chuckling softly at his words. "Well, technically our birthday is tomorrow and this is not technically a birthday bash." They were nearly 14, that was too old to be throwing an actual party, right? Besides - then they couldn't invite e v e r y o n e without it being weird. "But, if you make it through the game I doooo have something for you!" OH LOOK, her favorite blonde ever. Sia's entrance did not go unnoticed and Ve beamed at her as she made her way over to perch on the table. At the comment to Logan, she surveyed both of them before offering, "Sia wore it better." Duh. They were all going to be completely derailed by the thought of chocolate weren't they? She really did live up to being a chocolatier's daughter if that's how easy it was for them to all get off topic. Though... she did have SOME available for everyone, and perhaps even more now that Yukie had thoughtfully brought more treats! "There's a snack table with chocolate chip cookies at the very least to fix any cravings." See! She thought ahead! She was brought back to attention when another student she didn't recognize strode in, and she quickly added his name to the thankfully growing list. "Hi Moritz! Thanks for coming!" She beamed at him and watched as he went to join Yukie, glad that there appeared to be someone she would know too. She seemed really friendly and Vera liked to meet new people so she would also be happy to flit about and socialize, but she also was strongly hoping everyone who showed up would be comfortable and have a ton of fun! She was planning on still giving more time too for more people to show up. If there was a large group, she had a plan for full castle and for anything smaller well... this room would suffice. She certainly didn't want to bore anyone either for it being TOO big and impossible to find people. Though... the combating the bore part too was part of the reasoning for partnering up. Anyways. Oh dear... Vas' comment had been overheard. Ve turned the littlest bit red and tucked some of her hair behind her ear. "Thank you! It's uh... tomorrow. For both of us." Which meant this seemed like a good idea to introduce all of the others who were thus far there. "This is my twin brother Vasco, Ravenclaw, and my best friend Sable Ileana, Gryffindor." And she'd already supplied Logan's name earlier so... they all at least had names now! She returned back to her seat next to where Sia was perched, twirling her pen in her fingers while she continued to watch the door. |
*flops in Anna induced exhaustion* There was NO way that the one and only Anna Walles would be missing an occasion hosted by THE one and only Seraphic Princess of Joy and Beauty (aka Vera Thanatos) and ESPECIALLY not when she had heard her Guardian Angel (aka Yukie Rasting) talking about it in the Hufflepuff common room. She only hoped that the Marquess de Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (aka Phoenix Marchbanks) or Fairy Frog Prince of the Summer Pond (aka Reuban Darcy-Stemp) or Solomon the Valiant and not the Apologetic of the Glistening Waters (aka Solomon Duck) or Spanish Rose (aka Violeta Escalante) or Olive Branch (aka Olive Gracae-Ryans) or the Fallen Squire of Gold and Black (aka Ramsey Burton) or...okay, there were a LOT of people she hoped also heard the good news and would be in attendance but she would be skipping around the corridors FOREVER if she kept listing them off in her head. Being a second year now, naturally, meant that her social circle was WAY bigger than it was a first year and the nice thing about circles was that they were infinite which meant that she could keep adding new points on to her circle and never run out of space. That WAS was infinite meant, after all! Skipping through the castle while snapping her fingers to a song only she could hear, Anna and her curls arrived and the smile that was already dancing across her face became even more invigorated when she saw all the NEW faces. More points to add around her circle! "HI!" she chirped with both her hands waving enthusiastically above her head...which may not have been for the best since her left hand WAS holding a little white paper party bag filled with little goodies she had made for the Seraphic Princess of Joy and Beauty herself AND her twin (fantastical name pending since, embarrassingly, the little Hufflepuff's gaze had been rather transfixed by the sister and a lot of other amazing possibilities sort of just faded into pretty blurs alongside her). So, erm, anyway...little handmade party favors went FLINGING into a couple different directions and thwacked into people, floor, and wall alike before Anna realized her blunder. "Oh gosh! OOPS! SORRY!" she flailed before sharply folding her arms to her sides and then waddling like a duck the remaining distance and THRUSTING the bag towards Vera. "Early birthday salutations and celebrations to you AND your brother," she announced, beaming beyond beams. She had done her research and observations, okay?! She could pay attention...sometimes. "They're rainbow seeds! So...thanks for being the rainbow that adds color to everyone's grey skies! Don't worry, eating them won't actually make a rainbow explode from your tummy or fingertips or mouth or anything. I THOUGHT that was the case last term because after I ate some of these that very thing started happening to me buuuuuut it turns out that all that was just part of the whole festivities Peeves had bestowed upon the castle last term. Which is kind of a bummer because I really had thought I was on to something ... but they still taste yummy and are rainbow colors and will hopefully plant seeds of joy and bursts of delicious flavor on your tongues!" Having now not-so-elegantly handed over the bag to their esteemed host, Anna scrambled to pick up one of the little packets that had fallen on the floor during her spirited entry and bit her lip while her cheeks turned a bit pinkish as she offered them to the blonde Gryffindor boy (aka Logan Paton) she often saw with Vera. "I hope they do the same for you too, Faithful House Elf to the Seraphic Princess of Joy and Beauty." Oh hey look! Her Guardian Angel WAS here! Anna offered her another spirited little wave. And then she noticed the sign and it was just another of those quintessential Anna moments. "You know, to partner up to marry or form a long and serious relationship with another person which is where the concept of being in pairs came from." Was that entirely true? Probably not but she THOUGHT she had heard that somewhere. "So maybe it would be more clear to say groooooooup up." She was mostly wondering all this aloud...but also completely incapable of deciding just ONE partner and it was her way of pseudo confirming that they COULD be in groups and not just one other person. Plus...wasn't she technically the odd arrival and therefore SOMEONE would be left out of a partnership and that would just be sad! |
