Benadi...

Two best friends, first real close during school and now inseparable as they start the rest of their lives together.

Locations
Benadi Apartment: Two bedroom apartment in the outskirts of Edinburgh. Their first very own home close to school.

Cassiopeia's Cafe: A friendly cafe owned by Benny's mother

Rehman House: The childhood home of Adi, home of Saieed and Indira Rehman

Wizarding University: Edinburgh Campus of the school, where Benny and Adi take classes towards their degrees.

Scene 1 : Cassiopeia's Cafe

Ben's mom's cafe was chosen as the location for the ritual meeting of the families. Aka the first full Atreyu-Rehman get-together. The one where the boys tell their loved ones the truth about their relationship and see just how they react.

Talking about breakfast was making pouty Adi rather hungry. But then again, when wasn't he up for food? Thoughts of toasts, sausages and scrambled eggs with his favourite breakfast beverage- orange juice- made the pout disappear a few seconds later.

"Mhmm! And you've got to eat it all, okay? You and your small appetite...'' LOL! Adi was always trying to make Benny eat a lot. He found it quite fun to do so. Annnnd they were back at their apartment! At the bottom of the step to be precise. "Awesome job, Dragon!'' Adi leaned down slightly so that he could plant a kiss on Benny's left cheek before jumping down from his back.

"Come on! I'm starved!'' He grabbed his boyfriend's hand to lead him up the stairs.

All?

With a mention of how he didn’t eat as much as his other half complete with teasing. Just what was Adi thinking about making or having them have for breakfast? He didn’t dwell on it too long because soon enough, they had reached the end of their way. Benny was more than a bit relieved because his legs were about to give up on him. “Thanks Griff,” he said with a weak smile at the kiss , giving a sigh of relief once the man was off his back. He bent down to stretch as he recovered but all to quick his hand was taken again to head back inside.

“Easy there…” he muttered as he followed Adi albeit slower than the boyfriend might have wanted him to. Especially up the stairs to their apartment. “You’re always starved,” Benny teased as he caught his breath while Adi opened their apartment door so they both could enter inside before the door was closed behind them.

Thank Merlin they were home.

New Scene: Potion Brewing with Lux! (Squishy)

"Standard ingredient... check! Bicorn horn... check!''

It was in this manner Adi was checking off the ingredients as he placed them on the table before himself and Lux. They were standing in the kitchen of his and Benny's apartment and after much research, the Hippogriff and Mermaid besties were going to try brewing their potion. It was actually a prank one that was to be added to sweets which would cause the person who consumed it to smoke at the ear and breathe 'fire'. It was a pretty harmless one.

"I suppose this means that I'll have to help you come up with a beauty potion, huh, Lux?'' Adi said with an expression that clearly stated he didn't want to. A fake one of course

He wouldn't be Aditya Rehman if he didn't tease her.

Excitedly, Lux watched as Adi began placing ingredients for their potion on the table in his apartment. If all went well they would have the 'sweets' ready for Benny. They were so evil. She suppressed the urge to cackle though it seemed the appropriate thing to do during a time like this. Poor Benny was probably used to this by now and had been for a while, having a prankster for a boyfriend.

She was ready to get started except Adi had the cheek to jokingly insult her.

HOW RUUUUUDE.

"I know someone who wouldn't like you saying that." So there, Adi! Maybe he can use some of that potion himself. Hehe. Not really because her friend didn't need any; he was pretty enough as it was.

Adi set up the cauldron and burner, chortling as he did so. "Really? I wonder whoever that is.'' Right! It seemed as though they were ready here! He had extra ingredients, stirrers and a pen and note book with the process written out. They could make changes to it if necessary and once it was successfully brewed, Adi would write it out neatly in the potions journal Benny had gotten him for Christmas.

"All set, Ariel?'' Hehe. Ariel and Batman ready to get brewing! First comes safety, yes? He tugged on his lab coat and goggles and waited for his bestie to do the same. Professor Culloden had positively burnt certain stuff into his brain. Cleaning out the cauldron for instance, which he was doing with a non verbal Scouring Charm.

"The first step, fill with water an set on medium fire. Heat for five minutes.'' The guy did exactly this. Now they had to wait! And in the mean time they could work on the other ingredients. "You can cut the dandelion roots and I could crush the bicorn horn and scarab beetles,'' Adi suggested. He was only going to move on after getting her approval. They were a team, after all.

Today had been interesting to say the least.

Ethelinda was getting bigger and with it, her fire producing. Without the benefit of her control of it sharpening in turn. That was when her handlers had to be extra careful and it had been Benny’s fault that he had been caught off guard. As such there was a faint healing burn along his left wrist and the shirt was a tad singed even if he wasn’t entirely aware of the latter. He didn’t hold it against her of course…burns were bound to happen working as a dragonologist. It wasn’t his first and it wasn’t going to be his last.

But for now he had returned home, the dragon closing the door behind him before slipping his bag off his shoulder. It was deposited on a hook by the doorway and then Benny proceeded to where he heard the sounds of human presence. Ah yes…Adi was brewing with Lux today. “Hey guys…” he greeted as he moved closer to them. His gaze absently falling onto the cauldron they were working on. “Do I want to know?”

Adi Rehman was something else. "Who do you think?" Lux said before sticking her tongue out at him. What a silly goose he was! Giggling she set about putting all of the equipment that she needed to wear while brewing the potion. Professor Culloden's words always stuck with her after all this time and that was a good thing since he was still her Professor in University. Pretty awesome since he was her favourite teacher from Hogwarts just beating out Flamsteed.

"Ready!" she announced as soon as she was all set. Giving a thumbs up, she watched as he added the water and then put the burner on medium. It was her turn now and she set about cutting the dandelion roots. "Sounds good to me." Clearly since she had started doing it. Hehe. She was so silly.

At that moment Benny walked in. "Hey! I don't think you want to know because it's top secret." Smirk. This was going to be so much fun.

If anyone observed them, they would think that Lux and Adi were younger teens not the nineteen years old that they were actually. Adi stuck his tongue back out. These two goofed about a lot. Hehe. But it was time to get serious.

"Awesome! I'll keep an eye on the time too.'' Or they both could. He cleaned the mortar and pestle, crushed one bicorn horn and added it to a clean bowl, cleaned the mortar and pestle again then went on crush two scarab beetles. He peeked over at Lux to see how she was coming along with the five dandelion roots she was to be cutting. "Looking good! And I meant the roots not you, Lux.'' Ehehe.

"Okay, five minutes are... done! Time to add the bicorn horn.'' Adi did just that. "You can add the roots and beetle powder next.'' He consulted their notes. "They're supposed to be added after another five minutes then we stir ten times clockwise.'' He had just finished telling his brewing partner that when he became aware of the door to the apartment opening and the smell of burning fabric following.

"Hey, Benny,'' he said smiling brightly though it faded somewhat when he solved the mystery of the burning smells. "You got burnt!'' he unnecessarily said. As if Benny didn't know. "Did Linda do that? Did you put something on the burn?" Protective and caring boyfriend mode activated!

The greetings came smoothly enough and judging by the smirk Lux had on her face, he probably really didn’t want to know. Benny also had the sneaky suspicion he’d find out anyway at some point in time. However his attention was turned back to Adi, following his boyfriend’s gaze to his injury. “Yeah, I did,” he admitted as he moved before them at the counter, since there was no point trying to hide it.

It was clear even before the hippogriff started asking questions that he was concerned about the burn. “She did…her flame is getting more powerful, just not her control,” Benny mused nonchalantly in response. What was done was done and he wasn’t crying over it. “Uh huh…it’s been treated,” he assured his other half, raising it for Adi to see better. The burn still a little red but not scary red. I would be healed in no time, especially if he remembered to occasionally reapply burn salve on it.

Not like they didn't have any of that lying around.

Lux nodded as she continued to use her wand to cut up the roots. "Oh, whatever. You know I look good," she joked though she figured she didn't exactly look like a fashion model or anything. So long as her boyfriend thought she was beautiful WHICH HE DID.

Once the five minutes were up and the bicorn horn had been added, Lux waited the required amount of time before dumping in the dandelion roots and beetle powder. With a clean metal stirrer, she stirred the potion 1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6... 7... 8... 9... 10... times clockwise.

Benny made her raise her brow. As much as she loved the creatures she didn't think she could stand to be around them. Too dangerous.

"That you do,'' Adi replied. He had a beautiful girl bestie okay, everyone? But they had better keep away from her because 1. She was taken and 2. Adi was too protective of her. No one would want to mess with Bay and him. They were super crazy blokes. Hehe.

"Look, Lux! It's turning light blue!'' Woot! So far everything was going properly and he knew he and Lux would keep it that way. "Time to add two measures of the Standard Ingredients, mermaid. You want to do that? I'll add the pinch of octopus powder after.'' And then they would have to stir again.

Yep, Adi would expect Linda's flame to get stronger as she herself got bigger. He couldn't blame her. Dragonologists were bound to get burnt sometimes, weren't they? And luckily Adi was prepared for such things. "There's ointment, salve and all the other burn related stuff. I've made sure to stock up.'' The burn didn't look too bad since it had already been treated. Maybe if Adi kissed it, it would heal completely

Benny saw the raised eyebrow directed at him by Lux as she continued to work on the potion listening to the two of them. No words were said, though the aspiring dragonologist was mildly curious as to the exact reason for the gesture. But he wasn’t going to ask…it wasn’t him. Besides Adi was commenting over changes in the brewing potion and the former Gryffindor knew enough that much attention was needed when working with the subject. He wasn’t about to interrupt them with…

Whatever they were brewing.

He did nod however when Adi mentioned the sort of things that were stocked in their first aid supplies. Items that would prove quite useful for him…for them both…in the long run. “I’m well aware, on both parts,” he mused before leaning in and teasing, “It’s why I keep you around.” And with that comment, he made his temporary escape to clean up, having finally he noticed a few things about himself.

HAHA. That was more like it. Lux wasn't vain, but she knew that Adi thought she was pretty. "I thought as much. You look pretty good yourself." He was a nice looking guy. Obviously not her type - she was taken and he was like her brother so EWWWW - but he was attractive. No Bay, however.

Smiling as the potion turned light blue, she added the Standard Ingredient. "After the octopus powder is added it will turn green. Then we need to stir three times clockwise and crush the nettles and quills together in the mortar." It wouldn't take too much longer and then they will be done. She was so excited to see how the potion would work out on Benny.

She couldn't help but chuckle at the way that the two guys were talking with each other. They were such a good couple and Lux was very happy for them.

Adi grinned. "I should hope so because all the fumes are going to make my hair go boiiing! You know, stick up.'' He laughed. "Yours might end up like that too, mermaid.'' He was pretty sure his own was already on its way to being somewhat spiky since fumes were already coming from the cauldron.

The guy bobbed his head happily. "So right you are!'' he told Lux. "So far, so good!'' He added the octopus powder after the Standard Ingredient. "Octopus powder strengthens the potion so you know what this means. The longer the potion sits, the stronger it will be.'' Adi smirked. They wouldn't be making it too strong though, that's why only a pinch was added.

"I'll do the crushing while you stir.'' He cast the Scouring charm on the mortar and pestle then added three nettles and three porcupine quills in. CrushCrushCrush! And while he was doing this crushing...

He also shared his attention with his boyfriend. He could really see the curiosity on Benny's face about what was being brewed but he didn't enlighten him. Benny would find out soon enough. Oh, really? Is that why he was kept around? Adi playfully narrowed his eyes. "Are you sure that's the only reason?'' he teased back. "I refused to be kept around and used like this!'' His laughter might have followed Benny as the other guy left.

If Adi's hair got like that Lux was going to laugh and laugh until her stomach hurt. She was an awesome friend like that. "Pfft. No. My hair is in a braid so it won't." He was so silly if he thought that she was going to end up looking like him. Nope. He'd be the only one with funny looking hair by the end of this. Not like he didn't have a head start and everything. LOL.

Lux nodded as she watched him add the powder. "I was thinking we could leave it for at least an hour?" SHE HAD NO IDEA. As this was a new potion they hadn't exactly refined the recipe or anything. That was part of invention potions and it wasn't as if they weren't studying the subject at university. She was pleased with the progress so far though. Smiling, she picked the metal stirrer up again and gave it a good cleaning before stirring the potion 1... 2... 3... times clockwise.

"You ready to add the nettles and quills?"

Ehehehe. Was he that funny? Adi took a bow before the laughing Lux then ran a hand through his hair to try to flatten it somewhat. Somewhat because he loved when it was messy, anyway. "That wouldn't stop it from getting all spiky,'' he said though admittedly, her hair was a lot neater than his.

"An hour sounds awesome!'' Adi said enthusiastically. Poor Benny will be all smoke and 'fire'. He was certain that his and Lux's potion would not cause any harm. Of course he was... otherwise he wouldn't be letting Benny take any. He added the crushed ingredients in after the stirring. "Three more clockwise stirs,'' he told Lux.

"I've got some sour patch kids here,'' the guy happily said as he set down a few of the treats. "They're his favourite so we can add a few drops to them after the hour.'' Hehe!

Benny soon enough returned to the living area with his hair slightly damp and dressed in cleaner, unburnt clothes. Nothing a good shower couldn’t help, though he still had a faint smell of smoke mixed in that he was getting used to. “Garm…” he said, gaining the raised head of the large black dog laying on his blanket in the corner of the living room. “Come…” he added, resulting the in the creature raising to his feet and meandering open to the creature lover while he turned to his more human companions.

“Going to take Garm for a walk,” he informed them, though more for Adi’s benefit than Lux’s. They tended to let each other know when and where they were going when they weren’t together just in case of emergency. “Anything we need while I'm out?” he asked as he absently snatched an unaltered candy from the counter. Popping it in his mouth before he leaned to attach the dog’s leash to his collar and awaited a reply.

Uh huh. Lux rolled her eyes in amusement and resisted the temptation to ruffle his hair. THAT could be done a little later when the potion was setting. Adi had better prepare himself. "Your just jealous because you don't have hair like mine." Yep. It was pretty, silky, and RED. Being a redhead was the absolute best.

As Benny announced that he was taking the dog out, it was hard to keep from smirking. Soon enough he would be their guinea pig. Lux didn't feel bad about it though because it was a bit of harmless fun and wouldn't hurt him in the least. Benny had done worse to his boyfriend, she was sure. Her friend was such a trouble maker. Hehe. Shaking her head, she stirred the potion the three more times that it needed.

"So what do you want to do to kill time?" That was an important question because waiting could be so tedious.

Adi laughed again. Really, he did love this mermaid a ton! She was so darn funny! "What? So it would look like my head is on fire?'' he teased her. Her hair did make her resemble that mermaid... what was her name again? Oh yeah! Ariel! Lux was Ariel.

He turned when he heard and smelt Benny. LOL Adi would need to get used to the smell of smoke now, wouldn't he? In fact, it just maybe one of the smells that he really liked now. Adi watch Ilia's dog pad over to Benny. "Alrightey! See you when you get back.'' He watched his boyfriend now attach the leash. "Remember to walk him rather than let him walk you,'' he added teasingly. Garm was growing up so fast and was pretty strong! "Nope, I don't need anything. Lux?"

"By eating,'' Adi answered promptly after Benny was gone. "Fancy some ice cream, Lux? We've got chocolate.'' Of course that flavour was stashed in the fridge. "Pity that sour patch kid Benny took wasn't as yet laced with the potion.''

No smirk was there so there was no clue as to what he was in for upon his return to the apartment. All Benny knew was that Lux was being relatively quiet which he chalked up to her being focused on the brewing potion. He certainly knew enough about potions to be aware of the consequences that could sometimes developed if not watched carefully enough.

Even when waiting.

Actually ESPECIALLY when waiting.

Straightening up once Garm was secure, he couldn’t help but make a face at Adi’s comment. “Of course I will, dear Griff. As I won’t have any extra weight on my back, “he said, teasingly referring to their piggy back rides Adi liked to surprise on him when they ran together. “Alright…You two behave.” And with that dragon and pup headed out the door, the canine barking in excitement as he moved along with his human companion outside.

Her head looked like it was on fire? HAHAHA as if. "So that your head looks amazing more like." BEAM. Really he did look good and she loved him a lot. It was just so much fun playing with Adi because they could tease each other without either taking things too seriously and getting hurt.

ANYWAY.

She shook her head when she was asked if she needed anything. Nope. She was good. All that she needed was for this potion to be done so that they could try it out but no store would carry Time-Turners. Obviously. Lux was just going to have to play the waiting game with Adi. "Do you even need to ask?" Of COURSE she wanted chocolate ice cream! "I know. What do you want to lace it with?" HEHE, this was so much fun!

Adi got the piggyback joke Benny was making instantly. "You're lucky I'm not fat,'' he said in mock seriousness. Really... piggybacks with his boyfriend was something that was awesome and one of Adi's favourite things in the world! "Don't worry. We'll be on our best bahaviour.'' Adi gave him an innocent smile as he watched him and Garm go.

WOOT!

Lux wanted ice cream! Adi grabbed two large dishes and spoons before retrieving a container of chocolate ice cream. There were a few other flavours in there too but for him and Lux, it had to be chocolate. "Hmmm. I think we could use the dropper to add the potion. I think we estimated that about four drops would be enough?'' He looked to her for confirmation then concentrated back on dolloping healthy amounts of ice cream into their dishes.

Once that was done, he handed Lux hers. "For the mermaid!'' And he eyed his watch as he would be keeping a sharp eye on the time. "Benny usually takes an hour to walk Garm so we should have everything ready by the time he's back.'' Ah, his poor boyfriend. Always the tester of his pranks!

Adi got the reference and simply smiled at the comment sent back. Yeah, thankfully he wasn’t fat but he doubted that would end them. Though perhaps the boyfriend would be loath to return the favor since Benny himself was supposedly the ‘fat’ one. As for them behaving, he would just have to see the state of the kitchen, and the apartment as a whole when he returned. Though it wasn’t like they were alone with a toad and an owl right there in the mix.

When all was said and done, one tired human and one worn out pooch returned to their apartment roughly an hour later. Benny was feeling the exertion but was used to it. It wasn’t his first walk Garm after all although the dog had certainly gotten bigger and stronger since taking up residence with him and Adi. Still he was grateful when sight of home had been spotted and he could make his way up the steps with canine common beside.

Once inside and the door closed securely behind them, he released the clip from the lease, sending the dog bounding over to its bed to curl up. Benny in turn, deposited the leash in its safe place before meandering further into the apartment. “Hey guys,” he greeted Lux and Adi, plopping down on the nearby couch to relax himself.

Okay.

So this was settled then. They were going to use the dropper to add a little bit of the potion. Lux had THOUGHT as much, but she had wanted to get confirmation from Adi before proceeding to do anything. Maybe it was best to wait until after eating the ice cream. Not like they were in a rush or anything when Benny wouldn't be back for an hour. She nodded, pleased with the plan. "Sounds good. I am pretty sure we settled on four because five would be TOO powerful and three wouldn't be strong enough." At least that was what they found to be the case according to their calculations.

No matter, because it was time for ICE CREAM.

"Thank you!" she told her friend happily before settling in to eat. Yum. Could they fill the whole hour in by eating ice cream. Probably not, but a girl could dream.

And he was back.

Lux cast a glance towards her friend. It was now or never. "We need to do this so that Benny can't see. Maybe you can distract him?" Seemed like a good idea to her because it was too risky otherwise. What if he saw what they wanted to do to the food? "Hey, Benny!" she called out, offering him a friendly smile.

Yep! There was the confirmation from Lux! Adi nodded. "Four it is. It should be easy to slip the drops on if Benny comes back earlier.'' Because Adi didn't think that his boyfriend spent that long on a walk with Garm. He happily dug into his ice cream. Omnonom. Chocolate ice cream was the best!
...................

Oh! Looky! Benny was back! And Adi had been wrong. Benny came back a little past the hour. Cool! This meant that the potion was ready to go. “Hey, boyfriend,’’ the guy called and watched Garm scamper off to his ‘bed’. “Awh, looks like Ilia’s baby is all tired out.’’ He snuck a glance at Lux then gave her a wink. “You got it,’’ he muttered. He pushed the plate with the sour patch kids closer to her then went to grab Benny a glass of water.

“Is my Dragon tired out too?” Adi teased as he held out the glass. Was Lux getting things done over there?
