Benadi...

Two best friends, first real close during school and now inseparable as they start the rest of their lives together.
Benjamin Atreyu and Aditya Rehman are now on their own outside the normalcy and safety of the walls of Hogwarts.
Wizarding University and the great wide world await the boyfriends as they explore what its like to really be adults in the wizarding and muggle worlds.

Locations
Benadi Apartment: Two bedroom apartment in the outskirts of Edinburgh. Their first very own home close to school.

Cassiopeia's Cafe: A friendly cafe owned by Benny's mother

Rehman House: The childhood home of Adi, home of Saieed and Indira Rehman

Wizarding University: Edinburgh Campus of the school, where Benny and Adi take classes towards their degrees.

Scene 1 : Cassiopeia's Cafe

Ben's mom's cafe was chosen as the location for the ritual meeting of the families. Aka the first full Atreyu-Rehman get-together. The one where the boys tell their loved ones the truth about their relationship and see just how they react.

Adi knew Benny was feeling quite content and maybe a little possessed by him as they snuggled. But hey, Adi had let Benny know that he was completely his and the dragon had quite agreed. WOOT! He liked his gift! Awesomeee! "It's nothing,'' Adi replied, grinning at the kiss. Truth be told, he hadn't been sure what to get him. The older guy was always looking for something special to show Benny how much he meant to him and Adi wasn't sure exactly what would top that after gifting a real live dragon.

~~Maybe a proposal~~

"Awesome!'' Adi wasted no time in Summoning the white dragon that had been given to his man sometime ago. He let it hover before them before stealing a glance at Benny. "You're sure, right?'' He never would do anything against what his boyfriend wanted and he just wanted to check once more that he had the go ahead and that it would be without any regrets.

It wasn’t exactly nothing but if Adi wanted him to not make a big deal with it, then he wasn’t about to argue. His own present for his other half was buried somewhere, Benny making a note to retrieve it at some point when he wanted to move. The had all day and it wasn’t like the hippogriff was begging to be given it, his mind was elsewhere and clearly focused on that and that alone at the moment.

See, his giving in made Adi excited and happy. So much so that the familiar gifted white dragon soon enough came floating into the living room. Benny’s attention was caught by it, and he almost expected it to burst into flames right then and there with no pause. However the boyfriend was trying to make sure he really wanted it done. He bit the inside of his cheek discretely but nodded in answer. “Yes…I’m sure,” the larger dragon responded looking to Adi to look away from the doomed stuff animal, giving the blue replacement a comforting squeeze.

Did Adi expect Benny to have second thoughts?

Yeah, a bit but not because he still had feelings for Angel. Nah, Adi knew VERY well those days were over and that relationship had been on the way to ending even before Benny had fallen for him. He had expected his boyfriend to have second thoughts because of his kind nature. See, unlike Adi, who could on rare occasions be heartless, Benny could never be no matter if he tried.

Adi was super duper pleased that there were still no objections and that Benny was squishing the one he gave him. "Alrightey! Here goes!'' He turned his brown eyed gaze back to the stuffed dragon hovering before the couple. With a lazy movement of the wrist and the incantation cast silently, the white dragon went up in flames.

The Hufflepuff watched with a smirk.

Benny braced himself for the fire and the flames. The ones that marked the end of his last real connection to Angel. Sure he had ended it and they were long over, and he was more than happy and in love with Adi but that didn’t mean what he had had didn’t mean anything to him. It was his first relationship…his first serious relationship…and technically his first love. So as much as he had given his consent to Adi, that didn’t mean it didn’t feel weird. The years of them together had had an impact on him, mostly positive, other than the times of jealousy that he had dealt with with a certain Hufflepuff.

As the non-verbal spell took hold and the stuffed animal began to burn for real, the former Gryffindor buried his face in Adi’s chest even as the other man full-heartedly watched it go up. It was a break that needed to be done…that didn’t mean he himself had to watch. Nope, he'd live it vicariously by remaining up close and personal with his boyfriend who was.

Yep...that should be good enough.

It was a pretty sight.

Mhmm, it was! Adi was quite content and extra cheery at this point. He held his boyfriend close, his brown eyes never once leaving the burning dragon until every single bit was gone. There went the last reminder of the girl whom Adi had once had to share his best friend with. Now the said bestie belonged to him and him alone just like it had been from the time they first became friends.

That's the way it had been, is and will always be.

Adi vanished any lurking bits of burnt dragon then squished Benny and kissed the top of his head. "Hey, you need to give this one a name, you know.'' Maybe Linda Junior? Hehe. The dude didn't know; he would leave this up to his man.

Unable to see, he could still smell, the soft smell of smoke and flame that was created by the engulfing of the dragon that was taking place. In some way, it was a familiar comforting smell to Benny while being brought about by an uncertainty. Perhaps it was part of the reason he was okay with everything once it had actually been done. Soon enough the faint sounds of the crackling fire half-muffled by his position against his boyfriend drifted away and he wondered if it was all over.

Adi’s embrace and kiss on his head signaling the other boy’s attention returning to him promptly confirmed it. “Hmm…” he murmured at first, bringing him back to everything. His mind settling as he tried to think on any idea, unburying himself from Adi’s form.

“How about…um…CloudRunner?” he finally suggested as an idea. The blue color not only was reminiscent of his own eye color but also of a perfect blue sky.

One old stuffed dragon burnt and gone, (something which Adi had wanted to do ever since Benny's and Angel's relationship had ended) he had his full attention back on Benny. Though his dragon had lifted his head from his chest, Adi kept his arms around him. He watched as his boyfriend considered a name.

"Sounds awesome!'' Adi's wild imagination was instantly filled with great, fluffy clouds in the shape of Superheroes. Hehe. "Hi, CloudRunner! You're now officially Benny's dragon. Well, one of them.'' Couldn't forget Linda safe and sound at the Valke place, could they? "Soooo, what did you get me, Benny?'' Adi didn't care for a present though. He had his loving and caring boyfriend and he's all that he needed.

Benny shifted slightly in his companion’s arms so they presented a cute picture. Two boyfriends and their stuffed dragon child. A filler for the one being watched over by Ilia’s family between the visits he managed. Oh goodie…the name was agreed on. “Yep…one of the future collection.” The dragonologist intended to have quite a brood, at least coming and going from his care. “Hi Daddy,” he teases innocently as he moves the dragon up so its soft nose nuzzles Adi’s face playfully.

And now Adi’s distraction had switched to his own presents. “Wouldn’t you like to know….” He mused, summoning the thin package that contained his boyfriend’s gift to him. It contained this with their initials at the name band. He hoped Adi liked it, especially once he explained things.

Future collection. Darn, Adi could just imagine all those dragons that would be at their place- which they had already started saving up for. Dragons... dragons everywhere! And let's not forget those Hippogriffs! "Soooo, you're starting a stuffed dragon collection too?'' he teased. Hehe. A collection of that too wouldn't be too bad. Laughing, Adi bumped his own nose gently against CloudRunner. "Heya, baby dragon.''

"Yep, I would!'' Presents were awesome, ya know! Adi watched it being summoned, curious as ever. He took the package and somehow managed to open it with one hand because he was too stubborn to let Benny go. He grinned at the sight of their initials on the front thenflicked the book open, looking for a hint of what it may be.

Starting a stuffed dragon collection…

“Maybe…” Benny mused with a chuckle of his own. Push comes to shove they could be passed on to their intended future children. The young man smiling amused as Adi went along with his tease and greeted the dragon lovingly. So cute!

He had been willing to help open it, but Adi somehow managed on his own with only the one hand as the other remained around him. Benny instead watched his boyfriend to see his reaction as it was revealed to him. He saw the grin at sight of the front and guess it was the personalization. But there was more to share. “I figured as a creator of potions, you’d need a journal or many to keep them. This one is might be useful for your joke ones especially,” he explained, pointing out the quoted ‘Mischief Managed’ on the front cover.

“I took the liberty of writing in the first…” Benny added, turning to the two pages in the leather-bound book that weren’t blank where his familiar handwriting laid out the modified recipe for the canary creams.

Benny had made Adi go speechless because of the amount of thought his boyfriend had put into his present. He continued to stared at their initials printed onto the front, running a finger over them. Benny's words explaining the journal kept repeating in his head. The boyfriend thought his potion inventions were worth keeping safe. More so, his joke potions which he might have hated because Adi always tested them out on him. Memories of a canary Benny a few summers before came to his mind.

And Benny had even written out the first one he had worked to adjust! Adi grinned as he looked down at the very familiar writing. The Dragon had gotten all of the ingredients and process correct too! Well, yeah, he would because Adi had shared the recipe with him.

"It's brilliant, Dragon! Thanks so much!'' See? He couldn't stop grinning. He REALLLLYYY liked his present. "And... I love you.''

Okay Benny knew from experience to get his boyfriend speechless was quite an accomplishment. It took a lot of effort and usually a ton of surprise. Yet so far he had seemingly managed to do it twice in the last six months almost without any effort or thought that it would be the outcome of his actions. The dragon watched Adi with interest, following his dark gaze and touch over the course of the book with his own lighter one. Sneaking peaks at his face every once and a while to make sure he hadn’t gone completely from this realm.

“You’re certainly welcome,” he pronounced with a rare, bright smile of his own, so glad that Adi was clearly so pleased with his gift. The normally smiley hippogriff was even more smiley. “I love you too,” Benny said, echoing the sentiment before leaning in to kiss his companion’s cheek. It appeared that they had both done well in the gift selecting and receiving department. But then, they knew each other so well and intimately, it was hard to imagine them giving each other a horrible present that completely missed the mark of a good idea.

That awesome smile.

It was one of those rarely seen smiles. Well, at least rare to the rest of the world as Adi was sort of familiar with them and he liked them. Mhmm. He liked them a great deal. The Hippogriff obsessed guy was happy and content and even more pleased when he got another kiss. Maybe Benny could do with a few more himself...

"Think we should get Conrad to have these sent out,'' Adi said, eyeing the reasonable sized mound of presents. There were even more presents for them to open but it was great self control that he suggested they owl off the ones that needed to be. He ran his hand over the one Benny had given him with a smile before calling Conrad. And Guster. Adi needed to wish his beloved toady a Happy Christmas too.

“Yeah, we probably should,” Benny agreed as he settled back into a spot on the floor surrounded by…stuff. As it was, it was going to take his familiar a bit of time to make all the needed deliveries and wouldn’t be quite as easy as when most were at Hogwarts their families were the only ones they had to owl outside of the school. Now it was the other way around.

He watched as the owl…and the toad….came at Adi’s call, the former Gryffindor holding out an arm to claim the larger creature. “I promise, you’ll get a nice rest after this,” he told Conrad, giving him a treat and a rub at the spot he liked around his neck. The winged messenger was going to deserve it, not that he ever seemed to mind doing anything for him…for them. Not for the first time did Benny wonder if they should ever consider adopting another owl.

"Whose first?" he asked, turning to his other half who seemed to have a handle of the various persons they were sending to.

Adi dragged his hand through his hair which had already been very tousled up before he did this anyway, thanks to his boyfriend. And there were Gus and Conrad! He grinned happily at the sight of them. "Hey, guys! Happy Christmas!'' As the owl took up post on Benny's arm, he scooped the toad up to perch him on his head. Yep, this habit of theirs never died.

"Hmmm. Your parents first.'' Wasn't he such a nice future son- in- law, putting Mr and Mrs Atreyu first? "Sorry, Guster but you're going to have to be without your buddy for a while.'' Adi nudged Benny's parents' present over. "That's theirs. My parents would be next. Then Lux, Ilia, Henny, Hady, Ava, Teddy, Zhenya, Bevvy, Kace and Emmy, Culloden, Bellaire, York...'' And loads more persons. And it was natural they couldn't forget those three Professors who had helped them so much with their studies."Gosh, no more owl posts for Conrad for a week or two after this.''

Luckily, unknown to them, Ilia's pack of owls would arrive soon with presents for the couple. This would relive Conrad somewhat of delivery duties since they could send Ilia's present with her owls.

With Gus now perched on Adi’s head in a familiar pose, it was a case of his and his pets. “Morning Gus,” Benny greeted the toad before turning his attention back to his boyfriend with the answer. “Alright,” he agreed, accepting the wrapped package that was pushed his way separating it from the rest. Sure enough, it had been the one he had done previously for his parents. “Sounds like a plan,” the dragon added, shaking his head with a chuckle at the list that he swore kept getting longer and longer.

So many people that meant something to them.

“Yeah…definitely getting pampered after this,” Benny agreed as he offered his parents’ gift and secured it. His hand reaching for another scratch on the bird’s neck before shifting back up to his feet. Couldn’t exactly send Conrad out without an open window. Said window opened with his free hand before letting the owl go with the instructions. “Mom and Dad.”

And off he went.

Gus happily croaked a reply to Benny's greeting and as Benny began attaching Mr and Mrs Atreyu's present to Conrad, Adi double checked that they had everyone's presents there. He then watched as his boyfriend let the owl through the open window. Bye, bye, Conrad! See you in a while again. "Come on, Benny. We should eat while we wait for him to get back.'' And with that, he snagged the other man's arm to lead him to the kitchen.

It was a rather good morning to go jogging. Okay, so it was a few days after Christmas and this meant that the place was still very much cold but this was never a bother to Adi. He loved the cold, jogging and early mornings so they made a pretty darn awesome combination. He happily stood in place outside of his and Benny's apartment, doing some stretches and waiting for Benny.

"YO, DRAGON!'' he called, now bending to touch his toes. "WHAT'S KEEPING YOU?'' Had Benny gone back to sleep? Adi wouldn't put it past the other man. Whereas he liked being out and about so early, his boyfriend didn't.

Benny was dragging his feet.

It was early and he was not only awake but up and out of bed. Adi had made sure of that as he got dressed before heading down to wait for him. Wait for him to be downstairs to run of all things. The frost of the windows tempted the dragon to simply crawl back into bed and ignore his boyfriend, but the thought of the griff’s retributions stopped him. He didn’t want to be pulled out of doors by his arms and legs half-dressed. So instead Benny begrudgedly finished getting dressed, making sure to bundle up before locking up and heading downstairs.

He had reached the lower hall of the apartment building when Adi bellowed. “I’m coming….” he called back, “I’m coming.” Cue sigh as he reached for the door and opened it, shivering as he stepped outside. “Why am I doing this again…?” Benny mused aloud as he tentatively made his way down from the stoop to come up besides his other half.

Adi heard his boyfriend's voice floating toward him. He grinned to himself. He was in for a treat today. Why? Because it was going to be amusing watching his sleepy dragon go for a jog. Merlin knew if he would sleep- jog. If that was the case, Adi would just have to tickle him awake. Yep! He usually took the risk of tickling this dragon when he was asleep.

The Hufflepuff straightened up just as Benny emerged from their apartment. Goody! Benny was all bundled up. “I think it started with me saying you couldn’t miss any of your beauty sleep,” Adi remarked with a smirk as he turned in front of him jogging in place to ensure the boyfriend wasn’t backing down. “Followed by your protesting and my teasing. Plus, I slept in a few days because you wanted me to,” he explained. “And alas you’re here joining me on my morning run.” He grinned innocently. "Oh yeah. You also love me.''

There! The reasons for Benny waking up earlier than usual today and going for a run. "Come on, Sleeping Beauty. Do some stretches. Gotta warm up those muscles.''

Benny listened as Adi presented him with all the so-called reasons in answer to his random musing. “So that’s the deal?” Sleeping in together versus going on a morning run together. “Cause I certainly think you get the better end of the deal in that respect.” Who didn’t like to cuddle and sleep in late with a dragon? It was definitely better than him running. As for him loving Adi, Benny tsked. “You’re lucky that I do.” Else he wouldn’t be up and about so early in the cold.

And now the prince wanted him to stretch. Well instructed him to stretch to be ready for their run which Benny supposed was a good idea. “As you wish…” he said as bent down with a small sigh to touch his toes before moving each of his legs in turn and bending and stretching them to get them ready as well. Eventually the dragon straightened back up to his full height, eying the boyfriend as he stretched his arms one by one.

“So where pray tell are we heading this morning?”

Adi grinned mysteriously. "Maybe,'' he replied happily, still jogging on the spot. "It seems like I do, huh?'' He looked thoughtful. "Can't have everything out in my favour. Let's see... I'll drag you out for a run two or three times a MONTH and I'll sleep in a few times a WEEK. How's that?'' See? He really loves you, Benny, to be suggesting this. Then again... anything for his Dragon.

Oh, looky! What a view! Adi smirked, watching Benny do his stretches. "Nice to see you haven't lost any of you athleticism,'' he teased. Yeah, Benny still had his form since he exercised at times. Especially those Beater arms. Mhmmm.

"As far as we can get without you collapsing.'' Hehe. "Go on. I bet I can catch up with you.'' He had another motive for wanting Benny to take off before him...

PIGGYBACKS!

Benny nodded in confirmation as Adi mulled over his words. And then his companion was defending the point that everything wasn’t even or tilted in favor of him, laying out the plan for now on. A few times a month versus a few times a week. Perhaps it wouldn’t be TOO bad. At least he was trying to tell himself now as he was going about it for the first time. “Maybe that will be doable,” he replied in a possible agreement. The dragon wasn’t going to say a distinct yes or no right at that moment.

He couldn’t help the slight color as the boyfriend commented on him and his look. Benny wasn’t self-conscious about his looks but the attention drawn to them, especially by his other half. “I try…” he absently mused as he recovered, trying not to make a face at the next comment. “So if I collapse we are done for the day?” he questioned, his mind debating if he could cheat at one point if he had had enough of the jogging. Unfortunately he was interrupted by Adi nudging him forward to start them off, the former quidditch player obeying and slowly jogging off as he gathered himself into a nice pace once he was comfortable.

Adi squinted at Benny. He SEEMED in agreement with his suggestion. He shrugged inwardly, figuring that they'd just have to see how it worked out. But if you looked at it, Benny was the one having the good end of this deal. Not that Adi minded. He had found out sleeping in wasn't such a bad thing haha. He just hadn't brought himself around to telling his boyfriend as yet.

Awh! Did the dragon look extra nice when he blushed? Mhmm. To Adi he sure did! Almost at once, the Puffer could see the flaw in his suggestion. "Not necessarily, he said casually. "I'll find some way to make you go on for a while longer.'' Riiiiiight, maybe he won't do that but you weren't getting out of this so easily, Dragon!

Adi grinned, watching Benny take off, he himself jogging in place again and waiting until the boyfriend made it to a reasonable distance.

So there wasn’t that easy out in the deal. The boyfriend sounded like he would be dragging him along if he tried something. Maybe he shouldn’t have questioned it and brought the possibility to Adi’s mind. Oh well, too late to take it back now. He would just have to suffer through whatever transpired along their route. Too bad he didn’t have a class or something to get to this morning to have an excuse to come back at a set time to get ready for. He was certainly going to need to wash up at least before he continued on with his day. Might even help warm him up later as well.

But for now he was jogging, pumping his arms as he moved and headed down the residential street that their apartment resided on for lack of any real direction at the moment. Adi was the one who knew the running atmosphere around here, Benny himself mostly the track between home and university. And he was hanging back, cue look back briefly to make sure his other half was coming before returning his glance forward and make sure he didn’t run into anything.

Safety first.

Adi just grinned as he watched Benny jog off without an 'argument' to his reply about dragging him along if he wasn't up for the challenge. Having Benny out here with him would make his morning run even better and Adi decided he was definitely going to get him out... well, not as much as he would like but a few times was okay. After all, that was MUCH better than no times at all. #ThePositiveSideOfThings

After figuring that his boyfriend had gotten to a reasonable distance, Adi himself took off at a jog, gradually increasing his strides until he took a flying leap and caught Benny around the shoulders and neck area. "Gotcha!'' He laughed; he was rather enjoying himself.
