Sugarplum's Sweet Shop https://i.postimg.cc/4yK4zJxp/sugarp...op-banner3.jpg Every child in Wizarding Britain knows that Sugarplum's is the place to be. You can smell the sticky sweetness and bursts of flavour as soon as you walk through the door, the little candy themed bell, enchanted to transform into a different type of candy every hour, will tinkle merrily to announce your arrival, but we won't be surprised if you don't notice it, after all your eyes have a rainbow of delectable sweets to feast on. |
Free for the taking! OBVIOUSLY Adam Luck was going to stop at the sweet shop after he did his shopping. He deserved it, after all. Heck, he really deserved to treat himself to ANYTHING he wanted after that term at Hogwarts. He'd survived a literal war. There was no WAY his dad could get mad at him for spending some of his galleons on candy, right? Heading in to the shop, he immediately made a beeline for the fudge section. He didn't know why, but fudge sounded like just the absolute BEST thing right now. |
Apollo! (Open to others too!) Dahlia had spent the better part of the morning with her parents and siblings shopping for their school supplies. Having stopped at the Leaky Cauldron for a family lunch just a little bit they had all been given the go ahead to do some of their own shopping and to meet up again in one hours time at the fountain. This was what she had been waiting for all day long. Without wasting another moments time, the twelve year old made her way directly towards Sugarplum's. It was time to restock her sweets supply before she completely ran out. She was running dangerously low. How she wasn't sure, there was noway she was eating her own stash of sweets as quickly as it was disappearing. It was as if.. as if.. she was being helped. And with four siblings at home, she probably was, even though they all had their own candy. Pushing the door open, Dahlia slipped inside, inhaling the scent of sweet sweet candy. She let her feet lead the way and moved directly down the aisle with the sugar quills. |

Walking along the aisles, her baby blue eyes gleamed with the thought of devouring some of these sweets. Stopping by the fudge and some chocolate, Serena wrinkled her nose. “Eww.“ |
Batman <3 If there was one store in all of Diagon Alley that Evan HAD been excited to get himself too, it was Sugarplum's Sweet Shop. Having stayed home and in his room even for the majority of the summer, he found that his box of candy under his bed was starting to get dangerously low. And if he was going back to Hogwarts, it was important that that be well stocked to get him as along in the term as it could. His parents, being muggles, wouldn't have the chance to send him any of the wizarding candy he'd come to like, so it was up to him to be prepared. And prepared he would be. Pulling out his little coin purse, he double checked his budget again before sticking it back into his jeans and heading straight towards the sherbertdrops. He was considering trying the crystallized pineapple too or the cockroach clusters, but he still wasn't entirely sure if the clusters had REAL cockroachs in them or not. So he just... eyed them suspiciously as he passed. |
Quote:
"You don't like FUDGE?" he asked this newcomer in shock, his blue eyes widening in disbelief. |
Quote:
"I don't like chocolate," Serena responded with a wrinkle of her nose. "I don't mind the other fudge flavors, but chocolate..." Another EW face. |

But now seemed as good a time as any to pick some other things. Plus, even if she didn't like them as much as she thought she would, she could always give them to Sage. Or her mum, considering how much she loved food. The sherbet drops caught her eye first since they were in the same section as the sugar quills. She picked up a box to examine. These didn't look too bad, yeah? |
Quote:
Different flavors? Sure! Eating real bugs? Pass. Making his way to over to the sherbert drops, he noticed a girl around his age also standing there holding one. He was pretty sure he recognized her from the common room, and if he remembered correct it was something... planty. Aspen? Tansy? ... Alfalfa? Those all seemed wrong. Just like her examination of the sherbert drops. Did she not already know they were amazing? "Those are really good. I have one if you want to try it before you commit?" He kept a few individually wrapped drops in his pockets so he could eat them whenever he needed a small sugar rush. |
Quote:
Hm? Ivy looked up from the box and smiled upon seeing a fellow Ravenclaw. Evan, she was pretty sure? They hadn't spoken much, but he seemed nice. Especially since he was offering to let her try a sherbet drop? "Oh, yeah, that'd be great, if you don't mind! Not that I don't believe you when you say they're good," she said with a grin, "but it's always nice trying something for yourself, yeah?" |
Quote:
"I don't mind at all. I keep stocked on them." Which was why he was here to begin with. "Definitely better to not just take someone's word for it. My taste buds also could just be really different from yours and me thinking something tastes good could still be absolutely disgusting to you." He couldn't fathom someone thinking that of his favorite treat yet at the same time... weirder things had happened. "I'm Evan. You're a Ravenclaw as well, right?" Pretty sure a year above him too, but given he felt pretty confident her name wasn't alfalfa he was not trusting his memory. Asking was safer. |
Quote:
"That's a good point." People had different tastes, both metaphorically with music and books and things like that, and literally. Even in her family, they shared some things they all liked, but there were things that she liked that the others didn't, and same for them. But also, she was hoping she would like the sherbet drop. She didn't want to disappoint him. It wouldn't really be a big deal...but still. "Oh, I am, yeah! I'm Ivy. I'll be going into my fourth year." And now that the sherbet drop was unwrapped, she popped it into her mouth. Hmmmmm... |
Quote:
"That's why I always sample things. If I can anyways." Because better to know for certain before spending the money. Although, he also did have plenty of family he could buy gifts for and sample that way as well. Which... maybe he'd get a thing of cockroach clusters for one of them and bum a piece. If he remembered correctly, there was a sweet shop at Hogsmeade too. Not that he'd been able to go there to explore yet. "What's your favorite candy?" Ivy? So he was right at least about a plant inspired name, but definitely wrong about his guesses. "So not alfalfa." Which... he did not mean to say out loud, so he just blinked at her. "I'm a third year this term. You excited to be going back?" He watched as she popped it into her mouth and tilted his head, waiting to hear what she thought of it. |
for Shannon & Lisa <3 It was once again time to work on restocking her sweets supply for the next term. Sugar quills and chocolate frogs were the main focus, but she would be adding some sherbert drops too, thanks to Evan. Ivy very much enjoyed those now too. They still didn't match the sugar quills, which were her favorite, but they were still really good, and it was nice to have a little bit of variety. After selecting a number of each and dropping them into her basket, she paused by the fudge section. Hmm. Maybe she should bring some of that home too? Mum and Sage would probably like it, and Mum and Dad had given her enough money for it. Hmmmm... |
Super stoked!! X3 Quote:
Chin-hae always knew manners. Of course, he was right. And Lisa didn’t want to get scolded for arriving empty handed so she headed to Sugarplums. She figured this would be a dual purpose visit- the first to get a gift for the Botros’ and the second to restock her stash. She began by checking out all the candy locations, trying to figure out what exactly to purchase for Jasper. It was a shame that she didn’t remember his favourite candy. She pouted but that pout was soon replaced by a wide grin when she saw Ivy up ahead. “Pan!!” she cried and rushed over to her friend, ignoring the other customers that she almost tripped over with her excitement. She did yell a Sorry behind her. “How’s your summer? Got any good recommendations on sweets?” |
Quote:
"Mine's been pretty good. How's yours?" She did recall Lisa being a little hesitant and wary about the summer coming up, but it looked like she might be having a good one, hopefully even better than she'd expected. "Oh, well, I've always really liked the sugar quills. Buuut I guess it depends on what you like best in sweets." Though most were pretty good, of course, but everyone had their preferences. |

She, of course, got a kick out of being called Tootles. Sure OTHER students had been cast as Lost Boys but TOOTLES… Tootles was special. Maybe he wasn’t actually special but Lisa had been honoured to play him even IF, in hindsight (after being cast as Chip in Beauty and the Beast), she felt somewhat typecast. But nevertheless! She was here with Pan!! Lisa leaned in and hugged her Pan tightly. It was good to see her. “Better than expected!” Still sad and boring but also fun. She mostly missed her friends and some fo the schoolwork (though she’d never admit that she missed the Hogwarts’ homework). “I wasn’t ready for it…. But I’m glad to be home. It’s good to see family and meet friends and special friends….” She lingered her sentence on the ‘special friends’ comment as she realized this could be the perfect way to set up her …. meddling. Ehehehe. Sugar quills were a decent suggestion. Lisa nodded not once but thrice as she thought through sugar quills. “Cant go wrong with sugar quills…. I’m buying these for…. A really special friend.” The lightest shade of pink dashed her cheeks and her heart started beating a little louder. She gasped, wondering if Ivy could hear the loud beating. How embarrassing! |
As his Quidditch career continued to accelerate, Jó found himself indulging less and less. He'd always taken advantage of being a teenager, and therefore being able to pretty much eat whatever he wanted whilst maintaining peak fitness but that was changing and over the last year or so, the twenty-one year old had been hyper vigilant with his nutrition. He wanted to be the best, wanted his team to win, and his training regime was meticulous. Which wasn't something anyone would have ever described him as little more than a year ago. But he'd popped into Sugarplums on a visit to Diagon Alley because he deserved something sweet, but he found himself surveying the shelves and wondering what a certain someone's favourite would be, and whether she'd appreciate him picking something up for her, instead. |

Skipping down the aisles, braids bouncing over her shoulders and back with gentle thumbs, she spotted him and went right up behind him with an easily recognizable giggle before her hands slipped right over his eyes. "Adivinha quem." Hehe. |
Jó wasn't completely immune to the buzz, although he'd stopped getting excited about it as the months passed. Whilst he loved the minor fame he'd amassed since coming back to the British and Irish League, the whispers, stares and giggles could get bothersome. Okay, that was a lie - what was bothersome was pretending not to notice it. What was bothersome was not being able to jump around excitedly like a little kid every time he got recognised. Because that was not what cool, aloof, expert semi-famous Quidditch stars did. He was mid nodding and offering a friendly smile to a staring kid when his vision was TAKEN FROM HIM, and if he hadn't heard the giggle he would have been incredibly confused. Especially because, "I have no idea what that means, Candi," he offered with light amusement, before lifting her hands from his eyes and, in the same moment, turning and sweeping her into a hug. "But I'm glad to see you, as always." |
Astrid / Ash He didn't actually have much of a sweet-tooth, but Maggie liked sweets and as an older brother, it was his duty to ensure that they had ice cream sundae parties every single day this summer. And, naturally, he'd grab some sweets for his friends too. He had plenty of money with him - that's what all that jingling was: all the galleons he had stuffed into the pockets of his trousers. And much like his pockets, his cart was just about full as he continued to pile treats into it. It was hard to decide between all the choices, so he might as well grab one of everything - Maggie would be SO HAPPY, he was sure of it! They'd have enough ice cream sundaes to last them A LIFETIME!!!! BEST. SUMMER. EVER. Booyah! |

Tehehe. Her warm features erupted into an even wider smile as he effortlessly pieced together that it was her and the sparkle to her eyes seemed to dance around as he began to turn. "It means ---- " Oh, hold that thought. There was a hug that needed reciprocated and dashing cheeks to pepper with a peck upon each. Her arms draped casually over his shoulders, Candela leaned back a bit to finish the thought that had been affectionately interrupted by Józef. "As I was saying," she continued, smiling as her finger bopped his nose playfully. "...it means that I should be teaching you more Portuguese...and I suppose that phrase as as good a one to practice as any." It was all in good fun anyway. "Adivinha quem. Guess who." Did she need to say that it was lovely to see him as well? It felt like quite the given considering the greeting. Though sometimes such affirmations were just the sort of thing one yearned to hear. "I always look forward to seeing you too. With you sign my chocolate frog box to commemorate this auspicious occasion? I did come in here specifically looking for you, after all." |
SPOILER!!: Hi Jasper! Ash was not good with apologies. But she felt bad about being mean to Megan Olivia, so she did the first logical thing she could think of: bring her presents and then run away. She had some other stuff planned, but. she knew that her stepmom liked sweets, and maybe she'd like to see what they had in the magical world? Hmmm. Ash picked up some fudge(classic and very normal), Chocolate Frogs(one of the better wizarding sweets), lemondrops(sounded okay), and crystallised pineapple(sounded... worth a try). She also got some blood pops and sour swirls for herself. She did not care that blood pops were associated with vampires. Blood did not taste THAT bad, okay? She also did not care that she was buying an absurd amount of sweets. It was for multiple people. Stop judging. With her purchases tucked safely in her extension-charmed bag, Ash turned to go... and accidentally bumped into Jasper. If Ash had felt self-conscious about the amount of candy she was buying at once, she didn't feel that way anymore. "Hi Jasper!" Quidditch jersey from Lisa guy. He was pretty chill. "What's up with all the candy?" |
SPOILER!!: Ash Jas was so enraptured in his mission to grab one of everything in the shop, that he hadn't noticed Ash walk in until he heard her call his name. Though, when he did realize, he turned around to greet her with a wide, boyish grin. "Sup!" His greeting of choice, naturally. "You can never have enough snacks," was his solid explanation for everything he had piled into his cart already. "Oh, is the fudge good? I've never had it from here." But surely he'd have to grab some of that too. He was sure his baba would love some. Maybe he ought to get stuff for the whole family. Oh, and for the train ride back to Hogwarts! And for his friends when they came to visit. Wow, it was a real good thing that he had brought so much money. |
for Christianna! Sera did not want to be reminded that she had to take those OWL tests this term. It was SUMMER, which was NOT the time to be thinking about boring school things. But her mom seemed to looove reminding her about them, so it was definitely time to get out of the house for a few hours. At least her mom had also given her a bit of money. It wasn't as much as Sera might've preferred, but it was still enough to get a couple things at Sugarplum's. With her mom off shopping for whatever she was looking for, Sera entered the sweet shop. Soooo many possibilities to choose from - though in the end, chocolate was the only REAL choice here - but first the gumball machines caught her attention, as they often did. She could use some gum. But why pick only one when there were FOUR machines here and she could watch them all go at the same time? That was half the fun of gumball machines. And so she put two knuts into each of the machines...but here was a conundrum. She had only two hands, not four. And she was too young to use magic outside of school. Though would the Ministry REALLY care if she just used it on some gumball machines in an area that was full of magical people anyway? Though x2...what spell would she even use??? Huh. Hm. Obviously she could just simply turn the first two knobs and then the other two, but where was the fun in that? |
