Noltie's Botanical Novelties https://i.postimg.cc/QN6W1t0K/noltie...es-banner3.jpg Noltie's Botanical Novelties is a peculiar little shop which looks as though humanity has abandoned it entirely and nature is trying its best to take over. While the storefront is similar in appearance to the stores on either side, tendrils of plants have broken through and weaved in and out of the brickwork and there are strange and beautiful flowers seemingly growing right out of the mortar. |
For Tazzie <3 It had been decided by the time her eyes had opened this morning. She needed something to liven up the apartment this summer, and Izzy was sure she'd find something here to inspire her. Did she have a green thumb? Perhaps not, but she couldn't know for sure unless she tried! With a little swing in her step, Izzy walked over to the odd shop and wasn't quite ready for the muggy air that greeted her. Blech. She (obviously) liked the cold better but c'est la vie. She roamed around looking at the variety... She had no idea what she was looking at most aisles, but some were actually very pretty! |

If it weren't for his mother's insistence that they welcome his cousin, a herbologist, who just came back from a long-term work in America with a nice family dinner and some botanical gifts, then he wouldn't be anywhere near this damn hellhole of a town, especially this shop, if one could even call it that. Exhaling through his nose, the curse breaker looked around for the shopkeeper. He didn't have the time, the patience, nor the enthusiasm to look around. He was just going to ask whatever their best sellers were, get that and he's gone. "You," He called out to a woman that he spotted on one aisle. "Are you the shopkeeper?" |
Had he noticed this shop before? Gunnar wasn't sure he ever had, but he probably wasn't quite as familiar with Diagon Alley as most of his peers were. Living in Germany, he mostly just came here for his school supplies and the occasional meet-up with a friend. If it was here before now, he hadn't been aware. And this was definitely the type of shop that he'd at least want to check out. The exterior was certainly interesting and the inside was just about what he'd expect - just like a greenhouse and with nearly every plant he could think of. What were the chances he could get a flesh-eater? |

An odd plant here, a beautiful flower over there... It was such an interesting dynamic really. She was looking at the description for one of the plants when she heard a voice call out. Instinctively she looked up with a smile at the man who... actually seemed to be talking to her? Oh! "Me? Oh," she laughed a little, because... well, if you knew her, you would never ask her that. "Definitely not, sorry. I'm just looking for something to liven up my apartment!" And Ava would just have to deal with that! It was way too bland in their apartment, since they were both out a lot. "I'm afraid if it's a plant question you have, I probably won't be of much use..." Then she spoke lowly to jest but still loud enough to be heard, "I'm just going for aesthetic!" |

As she walked in, she realized that she really couldn't recognize ANY of the plants adorning the shelves. Huh. She really needed to pay attention in Herbology more. As her eyes scanned the shelves, she noticed a familiar face nearby and grinned. "Gunnar! Hi!" she piped up as she walked over to the Slytherin boy, waving at him. |

So, no. Gavin would rather not deal with that...again. "Ah, good for you." He gave the woman a slight smile though. His mother taught him better. |

He supposed he didn't really need a shopkeeper to pick out anything. He could just grab something, maybe even have this woman's input in as she had mentioned about finding something aesthetic. That was probably worth something. So, the cursebreaker lingered. "I'm looking for something to gift to someone." Maybe he should just get his cousin some cacti? |

"Oh... hey, Nettie," he greeted her in kind, once he turned to see who it was. "What are you doing here? Getting some... plants?" That would be the obvious choice, but one never did know. Of course he had just been curious to see what was inside, but he might get a plant as well. |
Open Lucy was in the mood to do some botanical shopping because her greenhouse at home was needing some ingredients for her potions. She entered the shop and looked down at her list of what she needed to buy. She was quite impressed by the array of plants that were available which was saying something as it took a lot for Lucy to be impressed. Would she bump into anyone? She would try to be polite especially since they might be working with her at the Ministry. She didn't want to cause anger to her boss, whoever they might be. |
for kath <3 She wasn't supposed to be here. In fact, Mariana had promised to pick up some groceries for her little sister who was falling into the habit that so many uni students did, eating horribly in the name of saving time so that she could get more done, spend more time with friends. It was her job as the older sister to insist Sofia make better choices, take care of herself, but today she found herself sidetracked, her mission put on pause. Who had gone and put this literal paradise in her path? Whoever it was, she wasn't mad at them. Stepping into the shop, the brunette found herself smiling, the familiar scent of flora of all kinds filling her nostrils. How had she not discovered this place sooner? It felt a shame that she'd spent so much time shopping anywhere else. Moving deeper into Noltie's, Mariana lost herself in her surroundings. Perhaps Sofia could use a plant for her flat, too? She wouldn't feel as bad about delaying the groceries if she didn't show up empty handed. |

As always, he had a very kenspeckle figure as he browsed the shop with his raggy old backpack that was coming apart at the seams and one strap had perpetually looked as though it were going to come undone for years now and his large professional camera hanging off his left shoulder. His polished but unkempt hair fell across his warm hazel eyes as he moved about the aquatic plants specifically, wondering just how the gillyweed stock on campus was faring since the pricing here was considerably more on budget than what the current goings were in Athens. He had no intention of purchasing anything potted for himself. His presence in his flat was more of a ghost one and a potted plant implied some sort of permanence. Though he thought that one of the professors he worked with could appreciate one of those potted Chiming bluebells...thus he picked it up to mull over. |

"Sorry," She added after a moment, it only just dawning on her that he might not want the unsolicited opinion of a lady he'd never met before. Honestly, she just couldn't help but comment when it came to plants. "I didn't mean to pry." She grinned a bit sheepishly and took a step back. |
Herbology was far from his weakest subject, but on the day he was more likely to know more about Xenology given his recent addiction to the science fiction genre. Particularly the world painted by Frank Herbert. He had probably read Dune three times since first picking it up. In fact, some of the flora here was rather reminiscent what what one could find in science fiction. Maybe wizarding kind needed to give muggles a bit more credit. Though his attention was soon drawn away from planetary fiefs, sandworms, and spice when he hears a female voice speaking to him. "Considering it," nods lightly with a bit of a boyish grin. "One of the professors in the department I TA for is always complaining about the aesthetic of the office. Might help them move past that nag." Because, honestly, it was rather annoying during those rare moments he actually stepped foot into the office and stayed in there. "No need to apologize," he smiled while shaking his head and tucking the plant under his arm to offer his hand towards the brunette stranger. "Victor, though I mostly go by Vic." |
The botanist laughed softly, nodding her head. "Sounds like a solid plan to me. I hope it does the trick." Plants of any kind were an excellent way to make a space more bearable. Shaking his hand, she offered him a smile. "I'm Mariana, which... is what almost everyone calls me." Her older brother excluded, the nickname he used being one she would not be sharing. "I'm a little crazy over plants if that wasn't already evident." Gleam in her eye, pep in her step and all that. "Believe it or not, I only just discovered this place today. Pretty cool, isn't it?" |
He did too, not that he really spent much time in it to begin with. Though, perhaps, with a little less nagging he would at least hang around long enough to finish a cup of coffee. "Will just have to see," he mused as he fished for his coin wallet and checked the contents to see even if he had remembered to bring enough with him to pay. "Marina," he repeated while shaking her hand gently. "Pretty evident," he chuckled with a bit of a wink. "I'm not from this area...so first time for me as well." And he was pretty sure that the last time he had been here this shop had not. "Just here on some personal Ministry business." |

"Mind if I ask where you're from?" She was curious and perhaps a bit chatty, but she didn't like passing up the chance to meet new people, especially when she didn't have many contacts in the area. It got a bit lonely sometimes. |
He wasn't even sure why he was in here. Ethan looked around the shop and thought about leaving, but he had just walked in and something had to have caught his eye. That or the fact that he thought he might have seen one of the Blaze brothers coming down the alley, so popping into the shop was better than running into one of them. Moving around he figured while here he could just look around, not that he really knew what he was looking at. Plants weren't his thing and they all looked the same to him, though the flowers could be nice to get the boyfriend if he was into that. Stopping Ethan had to think, was he into that? He wasn't fully sure at the moment. |

Though she wasn’t sure which kind and so she stepped in the store and started to look around, her brown hair was back on a ponytail and her blue eyes were bright as she wandered around the store. Her small fingers coming out to touch the delicate plants that surrounded her.. “Hmmm.. ” She muttered to herself as she rounded a corner and then grinned as she saw who was in front of her! She snuck up behind him and put her hands over his eyes.. “Guess whooo. ” She said teasingly as she stood behind Ethan, fully on her toes to be able to reach her friends eyes. |
Important? Well, he supposed that depended on who you were speaking to. Still, his lips easily curled into an amused sort of smile. "To me it is," he chuckled while running a hand through his silky locks. "Portkeys. I need them for my travels." And considering he hadn't entirely decided where and when he was moving this summer, he was requesting more than a few open ended cross-continental ones. Her question was...a bit of a weighted one. Was there anywhere he considered himself to be from? Not really. So he was not sure he could offer her any satisfactory answer. "Nowhere," he finally offered up with a grin, nothing somber or sad about his tone. "Born in Spain, schooled at Ilvermorny, university in Europe, TA in Greece for now." |

Ethan was getting bored being in the shop so he thought maybe it would be safe to leave, that was until he looked up and saw a Blaze pass the window, nope, he'd stay there for a little longer. Turning the corner he went to check out some of the herbs that were on display, but soon the lights went out. Freezing thinking he was seen by one of them he held his breath, that was until he heard the voice behind him and smiled. "I don't' know, but I'm thinking the person is short, cute, and a best friend?" Did that cover it all? He'd wait until she took her hands off of him, but his smile was back and he was breathing easier. "What brings you here?" |

And now she was going to need new robes for school, or show a whole lot of ankle.. Eh.. “I wanted to get Chase a plant to liven up his apartment in Italy, but I can’t seen to decide which one. What about you? ” She asked him with a smile. |

"You know, I've got this map at home and someday I'm just going to throw a dart at it, travel to wherever it lands, no matter how far. I just really like the idea of being out of my comfort zone like that. Having a true adventure..." She smiled wistfully and then looked down, tucking some hair behind your ear. "And...you didn't need to know any of that. Here I am talking your ear off again." |

Her words were something that he heard all too often and this vague notion of 'someday' always amused him. Nothing more than fancy without any real intention, though his opinions were kept to himself. "What's stopping you from doing it now?" he inquired, moving the potted plant from being tucked under one arm to the other. Which encouraged it to sing out rather loudly with delight. "No darts?" And they could get into a debate on logomachies later. She was hardly talking his ear off, as she put it. |
