Default Janus Galloglass

For all your magical mirror needs, Janus Galloglass is the place to be. Sure, you could go to some other knick knack store that doesn't specialize in mirrors, but if you want quality, if you want customization, if you want pure craftsmanship, then you're in the right place. When you walk inside you'll have a hard time not seeing your own reflection somewhere on the walls and displays, and yet equally, not every mirror shows you yourself as you might expect. Some show reflections of completely different places and faces, some show you what you would look like as a different gender or age, some show you how others see you, and some appear not to reflect anything at all. Many of the mirrors call out compliments or advice as you walk close to them. Some seem to watch you as you make your way around the store.

Janus Galloglass deals in three main areas when it comes to mirror making: mirrors for communication, mirrors for vanity and appearance, and mirrors for divination, though there are other types of mirrors available for other needs - just ask. Fancy a foeglass? Need a talking mirror to tell you how fabulous you are? Want a hand mirror charmed to never fog up? Do you need a mirror that will zoom? Maybe you need mirror parts for your telescope, or a mirror charmed to show you the back of your head. Perhaps you're in the market for a prank mirror of some variety. Whatever you need, if it isn't already on the shelves, you can get a quote here, just be aware that some more complex custom requests might take a little time to craft.

You mustn't forget, of course, that Janus Galloglass also provides a Psychomanteum that its valued patrons can make use of, for a price of course. Your Catoptromancy session can be guided too if you need a little help with interpretation, or you may pay to use the Psychomanteum by yourself for a 15, 35, or 55 minute session. Please note there are multitudes of security spells in this store. It isn't wise to try and steal when so many of the mirrors are watching you, not to mention, if you break you DEFINITELY buy, or you might just get sucked into a holding mirror until an auror can be summoned to deal with you.

A note about inventory:
At Janus Galloglass the price of a given mirror depends on several factors that make an exact pricing menu unwieldy and difficult. SPOILER!!: the talking mirror, played by serena & the shopkeeper, played by the shopkeeper

Her dad had been on his way out with a portkey and Serena stuck to him seconds before disappearing. At the moment it looked like an exhilarating thing to do. When they arrived her dad scolded her (not too harshly) and gave her all of the statistics of possible failure and chances of injury. Serena considered this her lucky day because she made it without a scratch on herself. Mostly due to her dad's quick actions, but still. Numbers don't lie.

They had arrived outside of Knockturn Alley and her dad summoned her bodyguards. She wasn't allowed to go in with him, nor was she allowed to wander on her own. As always. So, she wandered off with her two goons while her dad tended to whatever business he had.

This wasn't as fun as she had expected and she ended up at a random shop. Stefan and Flavios, the bodyguards, stood a few yards away as she examined the mirrors and...

Ohhhhhhhhhhh.

Was that.....?

Hmph. Mister Smiles.

Serena placed a finger over her lips, signaling her bodyguards to remain quiet. They simply squinted at her, more concerned with what she had planned than someone getting to her. That would be nearly impossible with those two around.

"I run faster," she said in her best deep voice, hidden behind a floor length mirror behind Jasper.

"No running in the store," she warned in a sing-song voice to the boy and the girl who mysteriously transformed into a full-length mirror when she heard what they said.

"No you can't, I'll prove--" But exactly what he was going to prove, he did not say because it was at this point that he heard the shopkeeper warn against running in the store. "We won't!" He called back loudly. Not that Jas was really planning to race a mirror anyway, but he'd be happy to race whoever was standing behind it.

That's right.

He could tell. Only because he had seen a flash of red hair. But shhh. He'd look cooler if he didn't reveal his secrets.

"Your mirror voice could use some work." He was still talking to the mirror at this point, waiting patiently for Serena (who he was assuming to be behind the scam seeing as the voice and the hair matched up) to step out from behind it. And when she did, Jasper would be waiting to greet her with a smug smile and his arms crossed over his chest.

Like. A. Boss.

But if it wasn't Serena, he was fully prepared to be charming and talk himself out of an awkward situation. He was so pro at this stuff.

He was merely curious about the circumstances in which made it that they had to tell her about Ash's magical abilities. He... had never really considered that, that there was probably magic somewhere in the blond line even if his parents had not been. He paused next to her, contemplating that for his own family. "Is that how it works? I wonder if someone in above generations was also magic somewhere in my family..." It would make sense. All four children magic, and his cousins were mixed in magical abilities or not.

Was there an easy way to trace the magic? He'd have to add that to his research list.

"Just let it happen when is good for you. She can deal with it if it takes you some time. No one should force you to accept something you aren't ready to." If only someone had told that to his Dad as well.

He understood the sacrifice she'd made by trying to look up, and red eyes or not he did his best to offer her a small smile in appreciation at the attempt. He was fine. Ignore him and his emotions. He liked to try to pretend he didn't have those anyways most of the time. He wasn't crazy about the fact Ash had seen any of his, but also he was sure she wasn't crazy about him having seen her vulnerable. So really, it kind of balanced out by his logic. "Yeah."

Lisa was really cute. Evan was obviously fond of his sister, both of them really. He wished Maya had made as many friends as the youngest Nam, but then again he hadn't either and she probably thought the same. "She's very full of life." And he meant that in a good way.

The Shopkeeper seemed really nice, so the Ravenclaw forced another smile as she offered her own apology about the store being upsetting. Wasn't her fault in the slightest, but he appreciated an adult trying to be understanding so he was prone to like her based off of that. "Thank you, we will."

Hmmm okay then. "Yes, I do have some for emergency use." And since they were both apologising, "It's not a problem. I'm sorry that my store caused you distress. Do let me know if you need anything." Tab patted them on the shoulder kindly and headed back to the counter. She would continue to keep an eye on them while helping other customers. If they seemed upset again, perhaps she could offer them a swiss roll instead. Dessert always made things better for her.

A child walking that fast was most probably not looking to buy anything, so Tab simply greeted him with a nod and left him to check out the shop while she cleaned the mirrors on display. Not long afterwards, the shopkeeper nodded in greeting again, this time to a trio who walked into the store, before she resumed her cleaning. "No running in the store," she warned in a sing-song voice to the boy and the girl who mysteriously transformed into a full-length mirror when she heard what they said.

One... two... one... “Well, I mean, she has ears. And wizard stuff is the stuff I talk about, cry about, and yell about.” It was mostly yelling. At like 4 AM. Ash let out a sharp laugh. “Plus, it’s my house. I refuse to hide who I am in my own house. I don’t care what she thinks about magic, or what my father thinks.” They were living with a witch and they weren’t going to pretend otherwise. Not in their own house.

“I mean, it depends. I bet that magic could be something you can get with no magic or squibs in your bloodline at all, or else the first wizards wouldn’t exist. Like how some people get genetic mutations or something. But if my brothers are magic, then I’m probably descended from magic. Cause what are the chances, right?” That would just be so improbable.

“Full of life is a good way to describe it. Sometimes I feel like a hollow porcelain doll who has been dropped so many times it’s a miracle I haven’t shattered. Lisa is more like an excited puppy. I like that. She deserves to be happy even when she’s older.” And she was gonna be okay, okay? Ash would make sure. She didn’t need to be the happiest person on Earth, but she had to be better than alright. Because otherwise Ash would be very sad. Okay, sadder than she was currently. Yes it was possible. Unfortunately.

“I guess I could use one, if you’ll let me have one.” A calming potion, she meant. Ash did not outwardly react much when the shopkeeper patted her on the shoulder, even though she FELT a little bit comforted. Showing emotion was showing vulnerability. Ash didn’t like being vulnerable. Not at all. But she sort of turned towards where the shopkeeper had been, like she was imagining that she was still there. It wasn’t hard, ‘specially because she had only really seen the shopkeeper’s feet.

One step. Two step. Three. "Oh, I guess that would certainly make it pretty obvious." Talking about it, yelling about it, all of that. Also would make sense how she didn't know anything until Ash had returned from school. He was picking up that her Dad was not very into magic. Evan could almost sympathezie on that, and yet it was no excuse for him to try to hide parts of his daughter. Especially if he'd been asking someone to move in. "I'm glad you let the cat out of the bag and she knows." Because it should be Ash's choice for people to know or not, and not her father's.

"I'm... not really sure. I've never even thought about it. I just know my grandparents and my parents aren't magic. But... All of my siblings are and one of two of my cousins which... I guess that would mean it has to have been somewhere in my bloodline... Do you think the library at school has genealogy reports of wizarding families?" And not just where it stopped when purebloods married muggles. Because obviously whatever line he and Ash would have come from was not pure. He wasn't sure if she cared to look into it, but honestly he was rather curious.

He wished she didn't feel like that. And he wished it didn't make sense to him. But both of those wishes were unfulfilled. "I didn't want to come back last term. I only did it for Lisa." And Maya, but more so Lisa since Maya had also only returned for the sake of the youngest Nam. "I wanted to try to protect her as best as I could from her innocence being ruined. She deserves to be young, and carefree and happy for as long as she can be." He wouldn't say forever, because honestly that would be impossible. But.. as long as possible.

Once she was agreeing to take a calming draught, Evan just stood by and let her interact so that he could then escort her out fully once she was ready.

Serena was about to respond the same as Jasper had to the shopkeeper when she remembered she was a mirror at the moment. Rest assured, shopkeeper, there was going to be no running from this redhead.

Heeeey!

What was wrong with her mirror voice? Serena frowned and massaged her throat, then stepped out from behind the mirror. Ugh. There he was. SMUG like always. She folded her OWN arms and frowned instead of smiling.

"There is nothing wrong with my mirror voice," she said. "At least, I have a mirror voice." A lame comeback, but she didn't have anything else. He ruined her spooky surprise.

And there she was FROWNING. Not many people frowned when faced with Jasper Botros, so he kind of liked. It was fun. "I have a mirror voice too," he answered immediately though he did not, in fact, have a mirror voice. If persuaded, he could likely make one up on the spot. So it wasn't anything to fret about. His mirror voice would probably be real good too, he was certain.

In any case, "Aren't you supposed to practice smiling?" For quidditch friend reasons. Jas was taking his coaching gig very seriously, as you could see.

"Oh, alright." Behind the counter, she rummaged in the shopping bag she used as a purse and took out a small phial of pale blue liquid. She walked back to the pair of teenagers and handed it to the girl. "Here you go. It's not a strong brew, but should be enough to calm you down."

Were they leaving now? She would be sad to see them go since she had been unable to provide a happy experience for them in her store, but agreed that it would be best for them to stay away from the place if it made them distressed.

In any case, "Aren't you supposed to practice smiling?" For quidditch friend reasons. Jas was taking his coaching gig very seriously, as you could see.

Good, good! Tab finished cleaning the last mirror on display and stepped back to inspect her work. Once she was satisfied, she checked that no one was running, stealing or otherwise requiring her assistance here, before she headed to the back room.

Were they leaving now? She would be sad to see them go since she had been unable to provide a happy experience for them in her store, but agreed that it would be best for them to stay away from the place if it made them distressed.

Ash giggled. “I like cats.” She knew that Evan was just using an expression... but the expression had cats in it. One, two, one... “I have a cat.” Cats were great.

“I dunno if Hogwarts has bloodlines including muggles. But I bet that there is someone who tracks that kind of stuff. It’s useful information to have.” And it would probably make that person a lot of money. “Wouldn’t it be funny if it turned out that I came from a line of pureblood supremacists? On the other hand, that would make me related to pureblood supremacists. But it would be amusing.” Two, one...

“Honestly, neither did I. I only came back because... because I hate giving up. And I thought that not coming back would make me a loser. I can’t lose when the stakes are so high.” Every day, she felt like giving up and giving in. But she never did. That was just... she couldn’t do it. Nope. Two, one, two... The only way out was forward. Literally and figuratively. The door was forward.

Ash took the potion. “Thank you for helping us. Have a nice day.” She almost uncorked the potion, then suddenly paused. What was she doing? She pulled a notebook out of her bag, covered in Alex’s neat, precise handwriting. She had begged him in a letter to take detailed notes on as many potions as possible, even the ones that she’d never know how to brew. This notebook came in handy a lot. Potions identification. She checked the potion in her hand with the picture pasted in the notebook. Good. She drank the potion and nodded politely at the shopkeeper, who apparently was no liar. One... She could feel the calming draught starting to work.

Evan gave a small laugh as well, nodding in agreement to her statement. "I like them too. I'm getting a kitten of my own this summer." It was actually the highlight of the year for him, thus far. It was nice having Jinx, but this cat could go to school with him now. His steps matched hers, heading towards the doorway.

"I don't know either... but it's kind of something I want to look into now. Maybe find my own family." It would be interesting to know what other wizards might have been in his bloodline. Also, maybe in his research he could even find out more about Chase's birth parents. That would be interesting too. He could see the irony in his statement, but his nose still crinkled a bit as well. "Definitely ironic, but that would also stink to find that out." Though realistically, all wizard lines probably had to have some of that in there, didn't it? Hateful people always seemed to have a way of popping up.

"I don't blame you. I.. probably would have been fine being a quitter. I am a quitter I guess in a lot of ways." That was not something he liked to realize about himself though. "But I don't quit on family. i guess I'm glad I went back though too... I made a lot more friends last term than I ever have before." Which was a nice difference. "And I guess I'm not as much dreading to go back now as I was before." Which was also a nice difference, though school definitely still didn't hold the same excitement for him as it did in the past. But... maybe eventually again. Hopefully.

He smiled at the Shopkeeper again, waiting while Ash took her potion before giving another wave towards the woman. "Thank you again." They were almost to the door now, and he could feel some of the tension from Ash release so he kept pressing on. "Almost there."

"You're welcome. You kids have a nice day too." Y'know, enjoy the summer sun, stay away from shops that make you feel bad. Wait, what was she doing? Tab raised her eyebrows and watched ... oh. Well that was not at all necessary because Tabatha Krauss was a trustworthy shopkeeper, but she could empathise with the girl. After all, the past few years had been ridiculously dangerous. It didn't hurt to be safe.

She gave the boy a wave in response, pleased to see that he was helping his friend so well. Then she slowly headed back to the counter.

Milo turned the issue over in his head, soon arriving at the conclusion that finding the owner of the voice was difficult only because they both seemed to be moving around. Even in such a small shop, they could hypothetically keep this up forever and never find the other. But technically it still wouldn't be an impossibility, even then. Possible things didn't happen all the time.

So Milo stayed stood where he was, and waited and watched instead, head tilted and fingers flexing smoothly at his sides. This method bore fruit very quickly, and he soon saw his quarry back in the direction of the unsettling mirror-that-wasn't. Regardless, he backtracked and walked up behind her, not entirely meaning to sneak but doing so anyway, socked feet all but soundless on the shop floor.

Stopping a little way behind her, Milo waited until the girl called out - giving him confirmation that this was indeed Mitsuki, and not another shop-wanderer - before replying at normal volume. "Finding you." He still didn't say his name. Introducing himself to the back of someone's head seemed almost as ill-advised as introducing himself to a disembodied voice.

It was a good thing that they both had not come to this conclusion and both resolved to stand still, much like she used to be instructed by dad whenever he took her and her siblings to the supermarket and they inevitably darted off in different directions from one another. Just stay still and dad would eventually come to collect you.

It was even more than just his socked feet muffling his approach as Mitsuki had taken to lightly tap tap tapping on a mirror or two in case her little specter was hiding within one of them. Suddenly, the voice was less disembodied and more physical...as well as close. Almost as though...

"EEEK!" she squeaked, the apparition seeming to manifest himself out of no where and right behind her. She was so spooked that she dropped the mirror she had been holding right to the floor, jelly side down, and heard a rather unsavory crunch and crack as the mirror unmistakably cracked and most likely shattered. Even more pleasantly eerie was this 'finding you' statement. Had her little specter been searching and waiting for her? For how long? "...you...you gave me a fright!" Mitsuki scolded and pointed down to the broken mirror on the floor.

As Mitsuki gave her start of surprise, Milo also reeled back slightly, not expecting such a sudden and demonstrative reaction. Otherwise, he retained full possession of his reason and composure, enough to notice the mirror had been released in the instant before it hit the ground.

Milo looked from the fallen mirror to Mitsuki, and noted the accusatory tone and pointing finger, which seemed to be directed at him even though it was physically pointing elsewhere. "Is that why you threw the mirror?" he asked, staring down at it again. For just a moment, he reached out a socked foot (the purple one) and made to nudge it with his toe, but seemed to think better of it.

You never know.

You never know.

A younger Tabby would have assessed the situation, whipped out her wand and performed a charm to save the mirror, all in the milliseconds it took to drop to the floor and shatter. Unfortunately, she was not as vigilant as she used to be, for she only noticed the accident when she heard the unpleasant crack that could only mean that her precious work was damaged. Alright ... she'd had ENOUGH!!!1@

"Step away now, careful. Is anyone hurt?" she asked, shuffling over to the pair at last with a broom and dustpan following closely behind. Although the question was a caring one, her tone and facial expression failed to hide her annoyance. A pointing finger was directed at the boy as she too, scolded him. "Shoes. On. Now."

Is that why she...what? What?

Excuse him. If he felt she had been accusatory before, then he had another thing coming. "I did not throw the mirror," she huffed and folded her arms across her chest. "It slipped out of my hands when you scared me." Who just snuck up on a person in the middle of a shop filled with mirrors? Or any shop for that matter. "Where did..." And it was then that she saw that he was not only wearing mismatching socks...but he was ONLY wearing mismatching socks. "....your shoes go?"

Not her intended question but it was one worth asking nonetheless.

To make matters worse, the shopkeeper had swooped in and if the woman thought that Mitsuki had thrown the mirror as her mysterious and still unnamed specter had speculated...she may...raise her voice and puff out her cheeks in distress. "No injuries here." Stepping away from the shards of glass, she stood beside the boy and once again stared down at his feet as a thought crossed her mind and her index finger reached out and poked his arm.

"....you're solid..."

When did a drop become a throw? It had looked like both and either and neither; Mitsuki had jolted when she started in surprise, so there was definitely leverage behind it, even if she claimed the mirror had only slipped. Milo looked over her shoulder then, into the mirror-that-wasn't, and informed the empty glass as to the location of his shoes, even as the shopkeeper person came bustling towards them. "By the door."

As much as Milo preferred the company of adults over that of other children - which never seemed to work out well anyway, as they understood him about as much as he understood them - there were still plenty who didn't fall into that category. The fussy ones. The bossy ones. The two-in-ones.

He didn't answer the shopkeeper person's question, this time only because he couldn't answer for anyone but himself. But did have something to say to that last. "Shoes are for outside. My feet don't like the barriers, they like to feel the energy." The socks were fine, as they fulfilled multiple personal safety requirements, and allowed him to feel the pull of Earth's gravity as was intended. But also, maybe she would know. "When does a drop become a throw?"

Milo looked towards Mitsuki again when she poked his arm, blinked once, hard, and said, "Sometimes."

So the girl had no injuries and the boy was PROBABLY not hurt to be talking back like that. Tabby stared at him incredulously, and actually softened up a little because he reminded her of her son when he was small. Aimeric never listened to her either. "Hmph. Alright then," she nodded grudgingly and began to sweep up the broken mirror pieces.

The shop floor did have good energy in her opinion, so she could understand why he wanted to feel it without a barrier.

When does a drop become a throw? "... when there's force?" she said. Vague, wasn't it? The shopkeeper glanced at the girl who dropped the mirror (she did not witness the scene but wanted to believe that it was a drop - because why would anyone THROW such a nice mirror???) "Either way, you'll have to pay for this, miss. Are you here with a parent or guardian who can do that?"

She had more questions and they all revolved around the reason behind her eye twitching a little because his socks were not matching. The only way that his appearance could be more insulting would be if one sock was an ankle sock and the other a knee high...or worse, a thigh high. What was not insulting was his reasoning behind why his shoes were at the door and it resonated with her in a way she had not anticipated. "I don't wear shoes inside of homes," she shared. She, of course, had her shoes on now inside the store BUT when she was home her shoes were never on inside the house. It was not to feel the energies of the space or to deny barriers but rather etiquette per her cultural upbringing...but still.

Her little spectre could feel energies through his feet...could he hear vibrations to know the location of things. Was he blind? She had read once about a blind monk who could fight by feeling the vibrations in the ground with their bare feet. Maybe he could...but only sometimes...because apparently he was only solid sometimes.

So many follow up questions and curiosities, but not for this space. Especially not when the shopkeeper was demanding that she pay for a broken mirror. Mitsuki had no use for something broken and surely the woman could just magically repair it...right?

"Um..." she murmured as she took a couple of back steps towards her little spectre and reached back to slip her hand around his, because he was coming with her, and tugged lightly. "My mum. She's a lead dragonologist and if you just give me a moment I'll fetch her," Mitsuki said with the epitome of angelic tones and honest eyes.

That look. Milo was used to getting looks like that, and they often came after he had spoken a lot of sense, the kind of sense that other people actually understood. The basics. One of his tutors had always called it 'being lippy', which was essentially an admission that Milo was right. It was rare that anyone acquiesced as quickly as the shop person did though, or that someone else his age agreed with him so freely, but he took it in his stride as he did most things.

He watched as the mirror fragments were swept up, taken by the effect of the light on the jagged edges and facets. The temptation to pick one up was almost overwhelming, but Milo knew that when he did it wouldn't hold the same kind of magic as it did now, one piece amongst many, however separate. He could take a handful, but that would probably hurt, and he would likely be stopped before he could touch them in any case. "There was force; at least one force. It was gravity." Maybe propulsion was a part of it. He could argue that was present too, if he really did believe Mitsuki had thrown the mirror. But really - he had just now decided - a drop became a throw when there was intentionality behind it, and as he couldn't say for sure what his new acquaintance had or had not intended, the exact nature of the mess would remain an unknown for now.

Milo opened his mouth to speak again, at which point he became aware of the situation with their hands. He caught on quickly to what Mitsuki was trying to convey, and decided he would go with her, and so allowed his hand to be held and tugged. "Rose says Reparo is the spell for mending broken things," he added, in a vague sort of way.

"It is more hygienic for homes," Tabby agreed when the girl shared that she did not wear shoes at home. For shops though, the floor was much more likely to contaminate socks than the other way round no matter how often it was cleaned because of the number of customers (wearing dirty shoes) entering and exiting all day. She, of course, decided against mentioning this, since she had already permitted the boy to be shoeless in the shop anyway. Tab gave shoeless boy's reasonable response some thought while sweeping up the big mirror pieces and looked up when she had finished. "What about, when the force exerted is greater than gravity plus the force needed for one to release their fingers from the object?" If she could measure these, it could become something she used to decide whether customers were dropping or throwing mirrors, yeah?

The shopkeeper set the broom aside and with her wand, stopped the dustpan from gobbling up the mirror pieces. It tended to do that with dust and other waste, but she had plans to reuse the pieces. "Yes, please. And if the two of you had been searching for a specific mirror, I can help you find what you need when that's done," she nodded at the girl, softening up again upon seeing her innocent eyes. She was also, again, irritated by clever boy. "Rose is right. But Reparo does not work on objects that contain complex magic, like our enchanted mirrors. Also, the talking ones really don't like it when they are broken and mended again ... that's why in Janus Galloglass anything you break, you buy."

The whole plan was kaput if this woman did not agree to the proposal of going to get her mum. Her mum who was currently at the other end of Diagon Alley, most likely, helping her brother get something or other. She was completely ignoring all this logistical talk about force and gravity and all that, for the record. Her new companion seemed to have a handle on that situation regardless and Mitsuki had other priorities to focus on other than coming out on top in a debate.

"Oh that would be very much appreciated," she nodded angelically to the offer of helping them find things. With the sweetest of smiles in place and her eyes still wide, she sidestepped a bit more with her specter companion in tow. "Will only be a moment..."

Pivoting on the spot, she took her walk towards the door of the shop at a quick walk while holding on to his hand. The he that she STILL did not know the name of but was going to start thinking of him as zashiki-warashi or ZW for short. So, with ZW's hand in her own, Mitsuki calmly lead them to the door, out of the shop, and then a couple of paces before quietly whispering a simple command: "Run."

Milo gave the shop person's words some consideration, clacking his teeth together lightly as he did so. He still thought he had already found the right answer, but that didn't mean automatically ruling out everything else. That was a common human habit, he'd noticed, a habit that didn't make a lot of sense if you really were searching for objective truth. Which meant that most people weren't.

But, all in all, from what he understood of what the shop person had said, it was ultimately another way of saying... or maybe just generally went hand in hand with... "Intentionality."

As for the mirrors, did that mean the spell wouldn't fix them at all? Or would they fix, but with a broken or missing enchantment? Milo was about to ask for the specifics, but then (expert that he clearly was) reasoned that it could ultimately be fixed in the same way, and the same with the talking ones. "You can re-enchant them. And what if-"

What if someone couldn't afford what they'd broken, that was his next question, but then they were leaving. Leaving and coming back, that was the lie, but from the moment Mitsuki had taken his hand Milo had started to suspect that the coming back part was not on the cards. He kept his silence instead, and went along with his new acquaintance, pausing only to grab his shoes so as not to leave such glaring evidence at the scene of the crime. Shoes were for outside, that had just been an entire topic of conversation, so it was unlikely to be suspicious.

Running? That was suspicious, but Milo was ready to fly even as Mitsuki said the word. With her hand in one of his, and his shoes in the other, he ran.
