Hello fellow SnitchSeekers!!
We've got a lot going on at SS, as usual. First off, I want to congratulate Lissydove and Dainsie for their promotions to the Wizengamot, previously known as Administrators (more on that in a moment). Lissydove is taking over the Language forums and has already been hard at work with making sure the forums are staffed and even adding a brand new forum!! There is now a forum for our friends from
the Caribbean. Dainsie has taken over as the SS Librarian and is striving to update the information we currently have as well as implement some of her visions for improving
the library.
I also want to welcome
demented_deatheater and
stepsmad4eva1984 to our team of Aurors, formerly known as Moderators. demented_deatheater is taking on the Leaky Cauldron, joining current auror, CrazyMoonyFan. stepsmad4eva1984 is joining evlpez and the gang over with the FFs and Mad Eye Touz and her gang over at Madame Malkin's.
You may have noticed my mention of the Wizengamot and Aurors in my last paragraphs. You may even be scratching your head as to what these are. Well, the admins decided that the current usergroup names for Admins, Mods, and Super Mods needed a bit of HPifying (yeah, I know it's not a word but, it's fun). So, now we have Wizengamot (Admins), Aurors (Mods), and Hit Wizards (Super Mods). We left the colors the same, just changed the icons to fit the new names. We also changed the name of the Ministry usergroup (retired admins) to "Order of Merlin", which I think is a bit more appropriate.
We've also added two new, special, usergroups. The "Dark Force Defense League" is our new usergroup for retired mods and "Special Services to the School" is for retired School Staff. Retired mods and school staff used to just be put back into their houses but, we thought it would be nice to give them the option of being put in one of these special groups, as a way to thank them for their service.
The not-quite-so-new
Fan Clubs are a huge success. Most, if not all, of the clubs have co-presidents and are in the process of selecting other club officers, as well as making graphics and planning activities around their favorite HP character or HP actor.
The plot for our
Hogwarts School RPG is now well underway, with twists and turns already popping up. The common rooms were trashed this week and the students are being forced to sleep in the Great Hall (very PoA-esque) while the common rooms are repaired and the crimes investigated. Then, there's still that clue the poltergeist, Samea, mentioned which some of the students are trying to figure out. If you are a sorted member, it's still not too late to jump in. So make sure you head on over and enjoy the ride!
Thanks to Cassirin and CrazyMoonyFan, the "
Which SS Member?" game, once located in the Leaky Cauldron, has now been revamped. The game is the same, just a few more specifics added to the rules to make it more fun for everyone (such as: don't keep posting the same member over and over again- how boring is that?
). The game has also been moved to a more appropriate location:
Witch Weekly.
We've changed the rule about foreign languages in signatures. If you'd like to put foreign language in your siggy, you need to PM the appropriate language mod to have your signature approved by them. They will then forward your request (if it is approved) to a siggy mod who will check the rest of the content before inserting your new signature. Please make sure you still follow all of the
Signature Submission Guidelines as outlined in the Submit your Siggy thread when you PM the language mod. Do NOT submit a signature with a foreign language in the thread. Signatures with a foreign language in them MUST be PMed to a language mod for approval. Removing the ban on foreign languages in signatures does NOT extend to the rest of the site so, please do NOT start posting in foreign languages outside of the language forums.
I think that's everything I wanted to update you guys about and I'm sure you're tired of reading my drivel anyway so, I'm going to wrap this up now. I hope everyone here is having a great time on SnitchSeeker (or, if you aren't a member yet, you'll join us in the fun). And I'll be posting again soon (or maybe not so soon, depending on your definition of 'soon') with more updates from your favorite Harry Potter web community!

A special thanks to Lissydove for being my slave and finding links for me so I could concentrate on writing this update.
